"Nairobi’s first hip property is a welcome addition to the respectable but staid choices that have, until recently, summed up the capital’s upscale hotels. Inside, a four-story glass atrium and more than 800 pieces of artwork create a striking nightclub-like space in which modern architecture and traditional African forms intermingle. The 137 rooms and loft-style suites—decorated in shades of ocher, brown, and beige—convey an urban cool, with curved walls and headboards and the contemporary and traditional sculptures on display. Even the least expensive standard rooms have huge glass-walled bathrooms, some with freestanding tubs, packets of ground Kenyan coffee, and complimentary minibar treats. The majority of guests are business travelers taking advantage of the hotel’s high-security location in the Village Market, a gated shopping mall and expat hangout near the embassy district, and 20 minutes by car from the city center. The pool terrace hosts private receptions and cocktail parties on weekends, while the restaurant Epic—which serves grills and a montage of African, Asian, and Italian dishes—attracts an upscale local crowd. Staff are enthusiastic without being obsequious."

Tribe Hotel (Nairobi, Kenya) 4 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Located in Nairobi’s leafy Gigiri neighborhood — which happens to be the embassy district, and just ten minutes from the city center — the the 137-room Tribe is a perfectly positioned business hotel that looks nothing like a business hotel, more than luxe enough to serve as a place to recharge before or after a trip to trip to the bush, as well. The style is a cosmopolitan one, with art from all over Africa adorning airy, free-flowing interiors, and architecturally there’s hardly a straight line in sight." - Tablet Hotels

Make this sound better: Stayed at the Tribe for a conference. The hotel is right beside the posh Village Mall. It is a modern, chic and comfortable hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed with and adorned with cool African art. Everything was immaculate. The hotel staff was very helpful. The included breakfast was a la carte and delicious. I had club (lounge) access. The lounge|also served a decent breakfast (with an omelette bar) and did nice happy hour cocktails and appetizers each night. The hotel’s restaurant Jiko serves delicious modern African cuisine. My only complaints about the hotel is sometimes the wifi was spotty and the gorgeous pool is not heated, and quite cold as a result.

Firstly the waiters were just phenomenal! Catherine went above and beyond to make our experience so memorable and seamless consistently! And there was Sammy as well, so friendly!|Last but not least, Jackson really helped us sort out our reservation and getting us to settle in.|I highly recommend anyone visiting this fantastic establishment to seek out the above named golden people when you want a bespoke stay or experience at The Tribe!

I really enjoyed my stay at Tribe Hotel Amsterdam. The location is a major plus; literally just steps away from the Metro and bus station, which made getting around super easy. We booked a queen room with a city view, and the room itself was stylishly decorated with modern touches, including smart features on the TV, perfect for relaxing in bed. A few things kept it from being a perfect 10. There was no room service available during our stay, and we noticed a leak on the lobby floor near the elevator. Also, while the area is convenient, most restaurants and shops nearby closed by 9 or 10 p.m.- though this seems to be common in many parts of Amsterdam outside of bars. Another small downside was the lack of a microwave in the room. The breakfast buffet was decent, offering familiar favorites like bacon, eggs, waffles, coffee, tea, and juices. Hotel staff were friendly and, in most cases, very helpful- some even gave us great tips on places to explore. All in all, I’d definitely recommend Tribe Hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam looking for a comfortable, stylish, and well-located place to stay.

This is an outstanding hotel and all of the staff were really, really nice to us. The Marriott recognition was excellent and we were treated to a great experience in their club lounge, with great cocktails and snacks. The room was large and comfy and had the best shower we experienced on our Nairobi trip (hot and high pressure). The hotel design was great - with a modern ambience, the pool area looks lovely. Breakfast was good, but the combination of a small buffet and ordering extra might not be to everyone's taste, as the additional dishes are a little small and take a while to arrive. Overall definitely recommend.

An extraordinary hotel experience—staff, beauty, and food all far exceeded imagination. The spa is perhaps the best I have experienced in the world, and Natasha was an exemplar of professionalism and service.

Tribotel really impressed me! From the moment I walked in, I felt peace. The place is super quiet and luxurious — exactly what I needed for a getaway. The interior is beautifully done, and the ambiance? 10/10 The service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, professional, and made me feel so welcomed. I didn’t have to wait long for anything, and everything was done with a smile. I genuinely felt like a valued guest. Now let’s talk about the food — chef’s kiss! Everything I had was fresh, flavorful, and nicely plated. You can tell they take their kitchen seriously. I was honestly so impressed. I’d 100% go back again. If you’re looking for a quiet, classy, and comfortable spot with good food and great service, Tribotel is the place to be!

Tribe blends sleek, contemporary design with warm African hospitality. Stylish rooms, vibrant art, good service, super friendly staff, and a great restaurant stand out, specially for dinner. Breakfast is decent though options are limited. The gym and coach are helpful, and the pool location is a bit busy in the middle of everything, so nicer to sit around than to swim. Daily complimentary homemade chocolate is delicious. Occasional noise, very good location just next to the Village Market. Security is strong and good. Though, is a bit pricy in comparison to other hotels in the vicinity.
