Triberg Waterfalls

Our visit to Triberg im Schwarzwald was truly unforgettable. Nestled in the heart of the Black Forest, this charming town feels like a picture-perfect postcard. The highlight of our trip was the breathtaking Triberg Waterfalls. The sound of the cascading water, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful forest trails, creates a magical and refreshing experience. The walking paths are well maintained and family-friendly, making it easy to explore and enjoy the stunning natural beauty at every level of the falls. The town itself is just as delightful. The streets are lined with beautiful traditional shops, especially the famous cuckoo clock stores like the House of 1000 Clocks, where you can see incredible craftsmanship and unique handmade designs. Every shop has its own charm, offering souvenirs, local specialties, and authentic Black Forest products. There are also plenty of lovely cafés and well-known restaurant chains, along with cozy local eateries where you can relax and enjoy a meal after exploring. The mix of traditional atmosphere and modern comfort makes the whole experience even better. Overall, Triberg is a perfect scenic getaway — peaceful, beautiful, and full of character. I’ve been here two times, once in the summer with my mother (who was around 70 at that time, and it was accessible to her) and now in the winter. During winter time, most of the trails are closed because of security reasons (there’s ice on the ground), but to compensate that, the entrance ticket will also allow you to visit the Black Forest Museum. But you can still visit the waterfall and appreciate it. It’s a beautiful place! Just bring good walking or hiking shoes to avoid slipping. The advantage of visiting the falls during winter time is that it’s much less crowded. Parking around the falls is limited. Most parking spots can be payed through an app, but I couldn’t get it to work, so I was glad I always have some coins for parking meters on my car. There are also many souvenir shops nearby that sell some nice stuff, with prices being similar when compared to other touristy places like Titisee. It’s definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful little town that feels like a fairy tale. The waterfall hike is easy to access from the center and absolutely stunning. Even if you only have a day, it’s worth stopping by to see the world's largest cuckoo clock and enjoy the fresh forest air. Great for a quick family outing.

IMPRESSIVE WATERFALL. Comparing to the Allerheiligen-Wasserfälle, which is free, yes the entrance price is expensive (7€ 2026) but you can see where the money is going. The maintenance of the walkways ate is very good shape. Unfortunately no free parking around, winter season you pay the same price as summer yet you have access to one third of the summer season

This place was so beautiful.. loved the waterfall and walking through the woods... car park is about 10 mins walk to the entrance... ticket also includes the entry for a museum close by.

Amazing waterfall. Entry fee - 8€ per adult. Card payment accepted. WC facility is there. Easy and steep paths are there to go to the top of waterfall.

An easy nature trail accessible with asphalt, but its elevation is not easy for those who have difficulty walking or strollers. Relatively reasonable entrance prices. Most of it is shaded and pleasant. The entire trail and the beauty you see in the waterfall of the humpbacked trees are very beautiful and a highly recommended place.

The student ticket costs 0.50€ less than the usual adult tickets The waterfalls is absolutely beautiful and you can hike all the way to the top for different views. There are various hiking trails to explore the entire area. Sometimes you'll get to see the endemic red squirrel.

6€ per person is a little high, but the waterfalls are amazing. We went up to the 3rd view point, which has a bridge over the waterfall. They had lights at various places, and I'm sure at night it looks great, but we were there in the daytime. It is a must see in Triberg.

The waterfall is absolutely beautiful especially during the Christmas market! You will see people dancing and doing a fire show over the falls. You will get wet if you're close, so plan ahead because it gets cold. It's definitely worth a stop if you're going to be in the area.

The Triberg waterfalls are absolutely stunning.We were in Triberg for a few hours and decided to stop by the waterfalls. The cost is €4.50 to enter which is a great deal. You can spend anywhere from 45 minutes to hours exploring the different paths. They are ranked by 3 colors, Red, Yellow, and Green. Red is the more laid back route that goes to the first bridge, Yellow is the intermediate that takes you to the seconds bridge, and the most difficult is the green. We opted for the yellow which was recommended by the ticket operator. The waterfalls themselves are very gorgeous and the sound of the water is very relaxing. There are plenty of spots for great photos, from benches, to a little covered seating area, the bridges, and all along the trails themselves. I enjoyed all of the areas and appreciate the places to take a breather. The attendant was very nice and answered any questions we had as well as offered her advise on which was the best route to take. There is an abundance of parking in Triberg that allows you access to the falls in a matter of minutes. You will need to pay at these lots but the price is not bad and you only pay for the time you want to spend.

Triberg waterfalls is a beautiful way to spend an hour or a few hours in Triberg, besides the shops and restaurants, the falls are a main attraction in this small Black Forrest town. The cost is €4.50 to enter and there are three paths you can take to see the falls. They range from slightly up hill and then flat or you can do all uphill. The routes take 45 minutes, 1 hour or 1.5 hours. The falls themselves are very beautiful and offer great photo opportunities. The sound of the water flowing is soothing and relaxing. There are several parking lots around town and from most it is only a few minute walk to the entrance to the falls. The attendant was very nice and answered our questions with ease. If you have some extra time and are in the area, please check out this beautiful area.

This place is really beautiful! We saw it when we were walking around town and decided to go visit. The walking paths that go through the forest and along the waterfalls and river are truly spectacular. Lots and lots of beautiful pictures everywhere!

If you visit Triberg, you would like to hike up to this "tallest waterfall in Germany". If you don't wanna hike but you still wanna see it? No problem. Just drive up to the highest spot entrance. It's about 5 minutes walk from the parking to the waterfall. We did about a hour hike with our 6 year old and had a great time.

Claiming to be Germany's highest waterfall, this is a beautiful spot in the Black Forest, marred only slightly by the very touristy village of Triberg at the bottom with its cuckoo-clock shops and sales of Teutonic kitsch. The waterfalls are extremely impressive and there is a good walk either up from Triberg (which is frankly where most people start and therefore best avoided) or down from the top where there is a smallish car park. Entry to the main section of the waterfall costs a couple of Euros, but is worth it.

Important to note there are multiple places to park for this attraction, and depending on where you park you may or may not have a completely uphill climb to return to your vehicle. That being said the forest is beautiful and breathtaking, the walking paths are extremely well maintained. They hype it up quite a bit as the "tallest / largest" waterfall... to be fair it's extraordinary - BUT it's a cascading waterfall, which means you have a lot of small waterfalls that connect together. So you won't be seeing Niagara Falls here - but still worth the visit for 4.5 Euros!

BEST PART OF TRIBERG! When you hear about the very high waterfall you expect something huge but it is not one big waterfall but spread into 6 cascades. But it is still a really nice walk up. The car park and the road next to it at the top ruins the scenery a bit but it is definetely worth a visit.
