I got a single room for a few days, and I adore it. It has a beautiful view, easy check-in, and is affordable. It sits right across from the train station, so it's easy to catch a train anywhere. The room is small but clean and fully equipped. The bakery on the ground floor is an added bonus. There is no elevator because well there are only 3 floors?

This is the perfect spot to wait for the train: next door in a beautiful building with a view to the stunning old station, with great coffee and cakes, eg. excellent ovos moles(also to go), all at fair prices in a pleasant ambiance with in- and outdoor seating and great table service with an old time central cashier to pay afterwards.

I went to lunch only and not used thier accommodation. I ordered Pescada com salada russa that was good. Probably slightly expensive considering the volume but it is understandable as they are located 1 min from the station. Staffs were nice and trying to speak English too.

Tricana De Aveiro Café of the Hotel is highly recommended for its excellent espresso and custard tarts with cozy environments and friendly services. The Café is across Aveiro Train Station, and it is on the first floor of the White-color hotel building, Tricana d'Aveiro. The cafe always has some customers who order its Portuguese custard tart and sometimes other pastry with Portuguese espresso. I also tried the tarts and its espresso, and the two are perfect match because custard tarts are sweet, but NOT extremely oily, and espresso which, I learned, is a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans at this café. While I did visit a few cafes and restaurants, including various Starbucks, for their coffees [espresso], I love espresso tasted at Tricana De Aveiro Café the best for its flavor, balanced acid and bitterness. The Café is managed by the female manager and a female café master who is also the waitress. Them are friendly and could joke somewhat even toward the foreign tourists who cannot speak their language.

We loved the food and proprietors so much we stoped at this delightful cafe twice! Once on our way to Granja and on the way back through and on to Lisboa. Location was great right across from train station and the food was made with much love. We would gladly stop in again if our travels take us back to Aviaro. They also had bounce luggage storage (we used to walk the city for the afternoon without our luggage)! Such great service!!!

Very good and beautiful hotel directly in front of the train station of Aveiro, you literally just have to cross the street! The outside facade and the interior of the hotel are very beautiful, the ceiling is super high. Internet worked great and the people managing it are very kind and attentive, allowing us to leave our luggage there after check out. This should be no problem during the working hours of the pastelaria downstairs (they said they close at around 19.30 o'clock). Thank you!

We had been in Aveiro for a few hours and were due to take a train back to Porto. Knowing that once ready to depart the train would take around an hour to complete the journey and that we would then have to catch a metro train back to the area in Porto where we were staying. All in all we thought that this would take almost 2 hours to complete. As the Tricana de Aveiro was almost immediately across the road from the railway station we popped in for a quick coffee before commencing our journey. The service was quick, the coffee was very good, and the price incredibly cheap. All in all a worthwhile stopover.
