Tricana De Aveiro Café of the Hotel is highly recommended for its excellent espresso and custard tarts with cozy environments and friendly services.
The Café is across Aveiro Train Station, and it is on the first floor of the White-color hotel building, Tricana d'Aveiro. The cafe always has some customers who order its Portuguese custard tart and sometimes other pastry with Portuguese espresso.
I also tried the tarts and its espresso, and the two are perfect match because custard tarts are sweet, but NOT extremely oily, and espresso which, I learned, is a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans at this café. While I did visit a few cafes and restaurants, including various Starbucks, for their coffees [espresso], I love espresso tasted at Tricana De Aveiro Café the best for its flavor, balanced acid and bitterness.
The Café is managed by the female manager and a female café master who is also the waitress. Them are friendly and could joke somewhat even toward the foreign tourists who cannot speak their language.
