I was craving some healthy food for breakfast/lunch. I was so hungry so I ordered the chicken and leek soup. It was nice and light the chicken seemed like there wasn’t much in there. I ordered avo on toast that was fresh and tasty, quiet reasonably priced. The cafe inside was pretty loud. Would go back and try other things

Kind of expensive for subpar food to be honest. The lamb and veg pie was the only delicious dish, the pide toasties were a let down. They were very small and pretty bland. When I saw the white chicken slices, I knew it wasn't going to be seasoned 💀 nor was the avocado like at least some salt/pepper/lime juice Staff here are very nice though

Nice atmosphere at this cafe, which is tucked away behind Salamanca Place. We ordered 2 coffees, fruit toast and avo on toast. The coffees came out in 5 minutes. The toast took 30 minutes.

Delightful service and lots of choice. They were out of normal juice but that was ok. They make a good coffee and have plenty of seating with some lovely ambience. Cakes and biscuits were delicious too. Nice little spot hidden away in the end of an arcade.

Firstly, service was quite/very slow. Secondly, we ordered 2 sets of “Tricycle Big Breakfast” which consists of, among other things, smashed avocados, sautéed mushrooms and wilted spinach. Here is why I gave 2 stars. When they served the food, we were too hungry and so we took a photo and started eating. It was only after as I was still feeling slightly peckish that I looked at the menu and realised that the items that I mentioned above were missing on both our plates. Additionally, there was nothing wilted about the spinach, unless wilted means raw. We then went to the counter and informed them about it. Evidently, they were all out of avocados, which they knew or ought to have known but didn’t inform us when we were ordering. Even if they didn’t know about it when we ordering, they would have realised as they were preparing and should have then came and informed us. They had one last chance to inform when they were serving us the dish but failed to do so. As for the sautéed mushrooms, the chef claims he made it but that he, and I quote, “ forgot to put it in”. To which I am baffled by this buffoonery. I would’ve given them 1 star but they refunded us a small portion of the meal for failing to give us 2 of the items in the dish. Even then I suspect they didn’t refund us the proper price because in their own menu they listed the price of avocados as $4 and $3, yet they only refunded me a total of $5 (there were two sets). The cafe’s location was quaint and peaceful, which i appreciated. The food was average at best. Coffee wasn’t great. Just wished the service was on par.

Quaint cafe, relaxed vibe, fast friendly service with tasty food & hot/cold drinks. Breakfast — lunch menus located inside Salamanca art centre, with additional on-street dining area. Clean Public toilets Hidden gem!

Could be worse because the eggs weren't rotten. But the juice was musty and when confronted, staff members brushed it off, saying they use fresh produce. Meal was a let down. Atmosphere was off. I will not be returning. One good thing was the cutlery came in a lovely tricycle stamped package.

Google
I've had two thick soups here and both were very good and the prices are lowish. Potato and leak and corn and bacon. My only criticism is that, like most soups, they're over-salted. You could pay more in a more pretentious place but you wouldn't get better.

Yelp
Brilliant Tucked away off Salamanca, this little cafe is just right - expected to see Goldilocks sitting enjoying her coffee and cake. Order at the counter, staff are friendly and helpful. There is a good range of choices -overcome by the cakes and slices. GF options. Had coffee and cake brought out - the portion on the vanilla slice was bigger than most, and it did not disappoint. Coffee was just just. Also breakfast here - very helpful staff as had two tweens with us - breakfast was excellent - tried the pancakes - good, "make your own option " for breakfast worked well. GF toast option with eggs and mushrooms was exquisite. Place is Excellent.

Yelp
Good place to eat with large and tasty portions. Friendly staff. Inside a covered older building.

Yelp
Sometimes you come across a place on Yelp and realise you haven't written a review for it and it astounds you a bit. Having said that, I frequently forget about the existence of Tricycle, despite it being absolutely flipping delightful every time I visit. My most recent visit was yesterday so I'm banging this review out before I forget about reviewing and/or the existence of Tricycle yet again. There are two places worthy of breakfasting in Salamanca, and Tricycle is one of them. The regular menu is tops, the specials menu is even better. Their bloody marys are the second best in town (though I'm well and truly biased on this). The staff are all A+ people. And as far as coffee goes, second best in Salamanca, and first best as far as seating while drinking goes. You're nice and hidden up the back of SalArts, away from the ugly crowds (particularly on weekends)--but if you do desperately need your vitamin D fix you can sit out the front of the building and soak up the sun.

Yelp
Tricycle is conveniently located right next to the Salamanca market, providing a bit of quiet after an intense market experience! I went there twice, first for a tea right after the market (as recommended by the tea stand at the market), then for a late lunch after going to the botanical gardens. Service was good, and I actually had a hard time picking a vegetarian option from their menu as they had so many (an hour before they closed mind you!). I ended up taking the broccoli toasty, really tasty and filling. Really good spot if you're ever in Hobart :)

Yelp
Tricycle Cafe is the best restaurant in Hobart. They are in Salamanca. Lunch is fantastic with a great selection. Just finished breakie and what a delight. The eggs Benedict was great and presented perfectly. The staff is extremely courteous and the owner is very friendly. When in Hobart you MUST go to this restaurant.

Yelp
"Extremely rude staff and found hair in food!" I decided to try a new coffee shop and walked into Tricycle Cafe and can honestly say it will be my last time! The staff became offensively impolite upon questioning them about the enforced minimum charge on an eftpos transaction. Upon leaving the dank setting I could hear all the staff cackle and laughing as me and my guest left the place. Even if a customer is not right this is certainly no way to treat a customer and losing business in such a fickle market, however the worst part was the hair I discovered in in the cupcake I ordered, Yuck!! Makes you wonder about the hygiene practices at Tricycle cafe? I didn't see any of the kitchen staff wearing a chefs hat or netting to prevent hair from getting into the food. I will never recommend Tricycle cafe to anybody or go there again!

Yelp
This is a review is of just the coffee. I didn't try any of the food. The coffee here is good. It is a blend of beans. The only weird thing is they sprinkled a lot of nutmeg on my friend's cappuccino. That it over powered the coffee. However, my coffee was fine. The place is in a little nock and is quite intimate. The staff is friendly and vibe is cool. I would suggest this place over the other cafés in the same area.

Yelp
Had lunch at Tricycle yesterday. Superb! And always great coffee.

Yelp
Oh my god. Corned wagyu sandwich with Tasmanian pickle? Or a flour tortilla with avocado and potato filling? Delicious coffee and gorgeous pastries, snug location, friendly staff. Do not miss.

Yelp
This cafe offers great breakfasts; not huge in size but unique, it changes according to what ingredients are in season too. It is generally very packed on Sat morning due to the nearby Salamanca markets but if you get in early you might get a table. Because it is so popular the service is nearly always slow, but worth the wait! Coffee is super good too if you like caffeine to accompany your meal. The staff are generally pretty friendly, but yeah maybe a bit off putting too sometimes... the kitch-cool setting, great food and coffee win hands down for us though!

Yelp
I go here about once a month for meetings and I'm never unhappy when I walk away. I'm a slightly ashamed fusspot when it comes to staff, and I highly commend the staff here. They are polite, friendly, efficient and professional, the surroundings are conducive to conversation, and the food is tasty. The fresh juice is excellent, the hot drinks are always good. My only terror is bringing my toddler here who cries that he can't have the tricycles on the walls.
