Trieste's Jewish community museum Carlo and Vera Wagner

Very lovely collection and museum, it’s very well displayed, very impressive collection and very educational. I was here several years ago, so it may have changed a bit but it was very nice when I visited it. I would definitely recommend checking out this historical museum and its collection.

I visited this museum on a Friday in late June. This is officially one of the best museums I have ever visited in my life. As someone who is exploring their Italian Jewish identity, this museum offered such an insightful, well-researched history of the Trieste Jewish community. The museum worker at the front desk was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and provided many book recommendations for my specific interests. Everyone else in the museum was equally helpful and kind. My visit there was so moving that it brought me to tears, and I would highly recommend visiting.

Great museum exploring the history of the Jews of Trieste. Luckily, many of the treasures to see here were hidden from the Nazis during the War so you can see a book from the 17th century, the license authorizing the Jewish community by Maria Theresa and silver synagogue objects. Especially touching was the displays dedicated to the victims of the Shoah. Would have liked to see more related to the Jewish Agency building.

Tiny but very rich in items. Explanations in Italian and English can inform the majority of visitors about the pecular history of the local Jews. The opening on Monday morning is particularly useful to the long week-end tourists.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of Jewish community of Trieste at this museum. A real eye opener, especially reading about the lives of certain individuals.
