An Exceptional, First-Class Experience with Heart
Our day with Trilogy Excursions was truly magical--and somehow so much more than a snorkel trip.
From the very beginning, the crew approached us with genuine care and attentiveness. When serving food, they repeatedly and thoughtfully checked in with the kind phrase, "Are you my vegans?" The vegan meal felt specially curated: incredible muffins procured just for us, a nourishing and delicious chickpea-and-quinoa dish with a creamy, flavorful dressing, and freshly brewed coffee (Maurice even brought us seconds). The food was amazing--intentional, generous, and deeply satisfying.
The snorkeling itself was unforgettable. Molokini Crater was stunning, and the second location offered a fascinating open-water feel that made the experience even richer. We saw dolphins and whales, and what stood out most was how deeply the crew respected the ocean and its life. Captain Nick was attentive and conscientious--actively concerned about a whale, in touch with NOAA, coordinating with other captains, and even asking the photographer to document the whale of interest. His delight in the weather, waves, and discoveries--paired with total competence--made us feel completely safe and inspired.
Maurice (yes, that Maurice--from Baywatch!) kept a calm, watchful eye on us the whole time. I felt genuinely safe under his care, and loved how he pointed out small wonders like a pencil urchin. Brooke spontaneously and generously mentioned manta rays to my partner, as if somehow magically knowing it mattered to her (she'd been saying how much she wanted to see them this vacation before the snorkeling trip). Clay's snorkel education talk was hands-down funnier than a professional comedian--engaging, memorable, and confidence-building.
The boat itself was pristine--high-end but never stuffy. Equipment was clearly well cared for, everything was spotless, and the overall vibe felt like first class without pretension. We were approached with offerings constantly--food, help, information, care. It honestly made us feel like rich people, but in the best, most human way.
What made the day extraordinary was the crew's spirit. They felt like an episode of Friends--warm, connected, respectful of one another's expertise, and clearly enjoying what they do. High-vibe people: calm, capable, kind, and still full of childlike wonder and delight in what they were discovering and sharing with us. There was something almost Buddhist about the experience--a love of nature, care for it, and an embrace of both "this and that."
Trilogy doesn't just show you the ocean--they gather you up, nourish you, keep you safe, and invite you into their adventure. They leave things better than they found them and remind you what's possible in the human experience.
Extraordinary in every way.
