I always love my visit to this hotel. I love the location opposite Trim Castle. I've stayed in various rooms but most of them have been very nice, some with a part view of the Castle. The staff are very friendly although they seem to be difference from staff from a couple of years ago. Food is always good and I usually know what I'm going to have!||One thing to point out is the car parking. U must register your car on a screen at reception. You input your info yourself, car reg. no, etc and it is not checked by staff member. I completed this, as far as I was aware, but just as I was checking out my car was about to be clamped and it was found that my car was not registered. So do make sure that this is completed properly as I obviously didn't submit it correctly.||I also love the small Kilkenny Design Shop accessible from the lobby in the hotel. |There are amazing walks and heritage buildings to be seen in Trim. ||I'll be back.

We had our wedding in the Trim Castle Hotel this July 2025. The bride got ready in the hotel the morning of and the hotel staff could not do more for us, they were amazing! The drinks reception was beautifully laid out and the food was top quality. The Wedding reception ballroom was stunning and we could not fault the food. There was an abundance offered to all guests and the taste and quality again was fantastic. The staff were amazing to deal with and I would highly recommend having your wedding in this hotel. Also, the views of the castle are stunning.

We had our daughter's wedding in Trim Castle on July 26th and what an amazing day it was. The staff throughout the hotel, from bar staff to management, couldn't have done any more for us. Siobhan, thank you so much for everything, you're excellent at what you do. Laima, what can I say, you're a gem and again, excellent at what you do so thank you. I don't know who cooked the food but I can only say that it was delicious.|It's been a while since I experienced such excellent service any where but to the Staff at Trim Castle, you've got it in spades. Thank you all so very much.|If anyone out there is looking for a venue for a wedding, believe me, Trim Castle is the place to go. The rooms are beautiful, the surroundings are beautiful, the ballroom with the glass wall is beautiful, you won't be disappointed.|So once again, thank you to everyone one of you at Trim Castle.|Evelyn Clerkin.

Recently had Sunday carvery at the hotel with the family and it was a fantastic experience. Michaela and Eva were the sweetest servers, very polite and attentive. The tiramisu was the perfect serving size for after a carvery lunch, and the Kilkenny shop has a variety of souvenirs to cater to everyone’s tastes. |10/10 will be going again

We had a family day out and went to Trim Castle Hotel for their carvery and what an experience! We arrived and were welcomed immediately by smiley waitress Michaela, made out way to the bar to order our drinks and were served very quickly, the barmaid Eva, was super friendly, helpful and had our drinks out in a jiffy, having six of us there, with undecided minds she was very patient and didn’t make us feel rushed and we made our way to our beautiful table with an excellent view of the castle. Michaela explained the carvery and off we went to dish up. The chef was also super friendly and the food was unbelievable! The portions were gigantic! Michaela looked after our every need and couldn’t believe how she walked around with a genuine smile helping everyone, she made you feel like family!! Michaela went over and above and made you feel like royalty. We’ll definitely be back!! Thank you Trim Castle Hotel!

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding. Highly recommend. Fantastic facilities and service. I think it's especially worth mentioning a staff member, Tom, who went out of his way to facilitate us during the reception. He's the kind of staff member, customer facing, who makes an experience positive and memorable. Well done. The exact same can be said for Amy at reception. She is so hospitable and welcoming. Her willingness to accommodate guests makes it a home away from home. Fantastic customer service. At dinner, Dovydas went to extra lengths to accommodate our kids. Really appreciate it!!!

I have stayed at this hotel previously and was looking forward to a return visit. We pulled up outside the hotel and was delighted to see one of my favourite hotels looking as fantastic as always.|We entered the hotel to check in and register our vehicles, I wish I could say we were welcomed but that would be untrue, we were grunted at and told where out rooms were. We didn't dare ask any questions as it wasn't a welcoming reception but we put it down to the fact that maybe it was because we were late (10pm) and she wanted to go home and we had delayed her.|Rooms were lovely and clean as always so no complaints there 10/10 for housekeeping.|We then went for a drink but only had the one because the atmosphere was very cold and again not welcoming, staff did not want to be there! |Breakfast the following morning was very disappointing, again we were not greeted but ordered to our seats. We were not told if it was table service or buffet and we barely had out bums on the seat when we heard tea or coffee... no good morning, no would you like tea or coffee... next came the juice.. again the same as the tea/coffee. I then asked one of my friends do you think this is table service when the same ignorant girl stood beside me and asked what we wanted to order. Not can I take your order please, just a bark. We asked for a few minutes to read through the menus and access the situation when we were again approached 3 times in less than 2 minutes to take our order. I don't think I have ever met such rude ignorant people in my life. I work with the public and I wouldn't have a job if I spoke to people the way we were spoken to. It costs nothing to be pleasant or to have manners. Upon receiving the breakfast, the poached eggs were swimming in water, and there was nothing amazing about the breakfast. We requested more pastries, and we never received them, it got to the stage we just wanted to leave. When we were walking out we passed 3 staff members who were just standing there chatting and not one of them said good bye or enjoy your day. We then had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Nadia and she was so upbeat and told us to enjoy our day and spared a minute of her time to be friendly (we really appreciated this) we had seen her with other guests in the breakfast room and were very jealous of the tables that had her as their server as she is fantastic at her job, other staff could learn a lot from her.|We returned after our busy day and I approached the receptionist to enquire about food in the bar that evening, she was very friendly and helpful we went straight to the restaurant instead of going upstairs as she said the kitchen would be closing in an hour, unfortunately I didn't see her name tag but again we appreciated a friendly face. We went straight down for food where we met a gentleman, he enquired if we had a booking to which I said no but we were residents, he paused for a bit and looked around as if there was no seating anywhere when there was plenty of empty tables. We were seated orders taken and food arrived, again staff were very cold and we felt in the way as if we shouldn't be there it was very uncomfortable and we didn't bother staying for dessert. Thankfully no issues with the food, the steaks were cooked to perfection.|We approached the counter to pay and were greeted with a smile and a warm hello by Killian, again he was so nice. He asked if everything was OK and im sure he was sorry he did. We off loading on him all of our problems regarding our stay and that the staff were so rude and we did not feel welcomed. We told him that himself and Nadia are fantastic and we appreciated their kindness. He apologised on behalf of everyone and said we shouldn't have been made feel that way. We also gave the names of the people who we had encountered. We left for our rooms that night feeling much better as someone had finally asked if everything was OK and took the time to listen.|Unfortunately we were awoken early at 6.30 by what sounded like the blue bottle bins been wheeled around outside in rhe carpork, I couldn't see out the window as we were on rhe 3rd floor and some windows have a restricted view, then came the noise outside the door and all the chatting outside our rooms. |We got up early had our showers ans headed for breakfast because there was no point relaxing in bed, God forbid someone would want to do that on a weekend away. The noise outside our door was rhe maintenance guys, there had been a water incident over night and they were outside our doors cutting holes in rhe ceiling. Maintenance guys were very nice and again so was rhe housekeeping who apologised to us for the noise ans seemed shocked that we weren't notified that this work was happening right outside our doors ( they had to move ladders, buckets, cloths etc for us to go in and out of our rooms). Breakfast was better this morning, there was a happy man greeted us and showed us the table, a very plesent girl came and took out order ans sorted out the drinks etc. Unfortunately she didn't have a name tag on so I can't give her any praise which she deserves. Breakfast was lovely this morning and even the chef was greeting people and the lovely Nadia was on duty again making sure everything was in order. Although breakfast was lovely it would be nice to have the continental on display for people to go up as they wish, but that is only a suggestion and probably a personal preference. |We used the pool in the nearby leisure centre theb returned to the hotel to check out. I was hoping to discuss our issues when checking out but sadly we weren't asked and everyone seemed under pressure trying to sort out the water disaster.|We loved this hotel and always looked forward to coming back but unfortunately this time round we left with a sour taste in our mouth and all that really left it down was the staff.

I recently stayed at Trim Castle Hotel with my mum and sister. We enjoyed the Girlie Escape package which was excellent value. The staff from very first interaction were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We loved our Afternoon Tea which had a lovely view of the castle. My sister needed a dairy free option and there was lots of delicious things that she could enjoy. (which isn't always the case)Dinner in the evening was also delicious. We had cocktails on the roof to finish off the evening. I would definitely recommend and we will return.

Yelp
Trim castle was beautiful. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do the tour of the inside but the walking grounds were beautiful! It use to have a mote which was the most intriguing part to me! Loved it!

Yelp
We stopped in for tea and cake. They were preparing for a wedding. Cannot comment on the hotel. Seems very nice. The cafe had very nice select of coffee, tea, and cake. The service was pleasant as well. I'd like to say more but I cannot. From the other reviews I'd say that this is a good place to say when you are next in Trim, Ireland. FYI.... The movie Bravehart was shot at Trim Castle.

Yelp
Nice rooms. Lovely view of the castle. Little to no amenities. No a/c in the rooms. Food in the bar restaurant was very good if you could get it. Our poor server was the host, bartender, and bus boy. Many people were turned away for not having a reservation and there were little to no places open in town as alternatives. In short, plan ahead and make your meal reservations.

Yelp
We are here on a Monday night and will be leaving early tomorrow morning to fly home to the US. It's after 10:30 and there is a party going on below us with a loud live band or DJ. I already called to ask them to turn the volume down about an hour ago. They got a little quieter for about 15 minutes but now they're back at full volume. The hostess I spoke to said she would call the manager and offered to see if they could move us. If they knew there was going to be a party tonight, why didn't they put us as farther away to start?

Yelp
Beautiful accommodations & wonderful staff. Comfortable rooms with a really lovely breakfast. The location is ideal if your taking a stroll or site seeing. Will absolutely return.

Yelp
We had a WONDERFUL stay here. Me and my family (husband, 9yo and 1 yo) did the Family getaway package and everything was amazing. The room was great nice and big to fit us all and all of our bags. There was no A/C but we expected that since most hotels in Ireland don't have it and we just kept the windows open which was nice with the cool air coming in. Our package included in the stay was a dinner at the Brasserie, breakfast both mornings at Jules Restaurant, and a picnic lunch provided by the hotel that we were able to take with us and have a picnic in front of the castle. The castle is literally right next door. There is also a nice town you can walk around and check out as well. Our dinner at the Brasserie was great, you get a limited menu with the package but there was still so much to choose from and everything we had was delicious. We actually ate there our second night as well because we did not realize that stuff closed so early on Monday nights but they were more than accommodating for us. Laura in the restaurant was AMAZING especially with our 1 year old. This was our first stay on our trip so we were all a little jetlagged and he wasn't feeling his best but she was so helpful both nights. Breakfast was delicious and came out quickly and hot and everyone was very attentive to us. The only issue with the picnic lunch was that they did not have it ready at our specified time so we had to wait a little for it to come out but other than that everything was delicious. We also got a couple of snacks from the café and I got an iced mocha which was delicious and so were the snacks that we got. Parking is located under the hotel and is free if you're a guest you just have to talk to the front desk about it. All in all we had a great stay and I'm glad that we stayed here for our first nights and were able to not stress too much.

Yelp
Have you ever seen the movie Brave Heart? This is where some scenes were filmed. It was so awesome learning so much about the history of the country and the history of the castle . The tour guide did an awesome job providing details and historical information about the castle and the surrounding area. Once you reach the top of the castle make sure to take plenty of pictures

Yelp
Wonderful hotel in a beautiful town. My friends and I stayed here during our tour of Ireland and loved the restaurant, terrace views, and lovely rooms. I highly recommend this hotel! The staff is delightful and very accommodating.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay right across the street from the trim castle. First-class accommodations in a hotel that meets our needs. Mariam assisted us is the concierge was very helpful in finding me the local gym to work out. Or dinner included in the tour package was first class. My Irish coffee after dinner was the best I've ever had. Breakfast the next day in a different restaurant Jules was well accommodated. The Buffett breakfast is traditional Irish foods and Suzanne assisted us and was the best. For those of us from the USA, only two drawbacks to this place, 1) no central air controlled by residents, 2) they need automatic doors next to the parking lot for easy loading. Otherwise, very nice stay and Well recommended, we would return.

Yelp
Steak & Guinness pie and beer selection were both acceptable, but calamari was soggy. Service was horrible - sat for 20 minutes without any attention. Left and returned but even then was slow. And the water tasted faintly of beef stew (?) and there were unannounced vegetables.

Yelp
This hotel was amazing. We availed of a Sunday night winter offer - €65 for two people with breakfast and the night was flawless. Our room was massive, private balcony and balcony furniture, bath, couch and seats. The restaurant was closed on the Sunday night so we had dinner in the Bailey Bar. First of all, they really accommodated my picky eating habits. Secondly, there was excellent value for money and finally food was great !! We also enjoyed our breakfast and coffee in the coffee shop. Hotel guests also get 10% discount in the Kilkenny Shop. Other reviews mentioned having to pay for parking, it was only €3 so considering how cheap everything else was, I didn't mind. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plus the hotel is right across from Trim Castle. Trim town was very pleasant with loads to do. To sum up, this hotel visit was the best and cheapest I'd ever had in Ireland. Trim Castle Hotel - you will see me again

Yelp
I visit this hotel regularly, mostly for the Barista cafe within. It's probably the best place to go in Trim for a coffee. They open til about 5pm daily and serve breakfast, a good selection of lunch options, salads & desserts. The coffee they serve is Robert Roberts. I find their coffee to be quite weak, so if you typically like your coffee strong, like I do, try a double macchiato, rather than a cappuccino! Their cakes can be hit or miss. They do lovely walnut & cherry scones. Staff are super friendly. There's loads of seating in the cafe itself & it's always pretty busy. The hotel also has a carvery area at the front, a separate restaurant (Jules Restaurant) & bar. The hotel also has a reasonably sized Kilkenny Design store within (across from the cafe entrance) that sells accessories, jewellery & home wares. The hotel has a fabulous (if not mildly sacrilegious) location, being constructed literally metres from the magnificent Trim Castle. If I were coming to stay in Trim as a tourist, this is probably where I'd choose to stay as it's right in the centre of the town!

Yelp
I had a great time in this hotel, it's very well located, just facing the Trim Castle, and if you're lucky, you can have a espetacular view from the castle. Food was decent, actually very good, they have a bar, restaurant and a café. The only thing I didn't like is the parking for my car, I had to pay for it, it's usually free in most of the hotels.

Yelp
Not bad food, but some of the most inept service I have ever had in my life. I write this with the check and a 50 euro note one the table--no one can even manage to come by and pick up the money! Details: We were referred here because of the nice views of the castle from the windows--which is true. Trim Castle is an impressive ruin, and the hotel restaurant/bar has big windows looking out. And the hotel itself looks quite lovely. We enjoyed our food--not spectacular but good. And as an American, the best mushy peas I have ever had. But each and every waitperson appears to be incompetent or untrained, one or the other. They were all fairly nice and sweet, but couldn't seem to get it together. Around us, food was repeatedly brought to the wrong table, drinks offered twice, and there were fidgety, waiting customers everywhere. I did speak with the manager, and she was apologetic. If they get this all put together, it will be a fine place for a nice dinner--and I have some faith that they will do so. But we did NOT have a good experience.

Yelp
Went here for my cousins wedding and it was like stepping into a grand luxury hotel. Huge sweeping.stair case and the gloriplous trim castle across the road. Ferro rosche for the wedding.and coffee before hand the room was amazing and the staff where like a well piled train army everyrhing.done to a perfect.standard. the food was amazing the salmon was falling off the forks it was so well done and well prepared even the sandwhichs at the end of the night i could not get enough. The hotel was huge the room where amazing and the beautiful trim castle across the road. Its a wondeful place for couples to get away to even for a night or two its worth it really leaves u feeling great and cared for . Even just to relax in the restaurant or enjoy a walk around the castle defo i wud go back and its very easy to find literally acrosss.the road from the castle.

Yelp
This hotel had a decent restaurant for a very good price (€25 for 5 courses). The food is average but the service was great. Get a table by the window and you will have an amazing view.

Yelp
Never rely on Trim Castle to forward on valuable items. I had left a ring my mother gave me in the room. I was immediately contacted when cleaning staff found it, for which I was very grateful. I was then told they would take my card details to send it by registered post which was great. Unfortunately it never arrived. It then took three/four weeks of persistently phoning to learn that it was not sent by registered post and is presumably gone. I rang between 10 - 15 times and was continuously fobbed off, told they didn't know anything and told they'd ring me back and never did. They weren't in the least bit apologetic and simply wanted the problem to go away. They have neither compensated me for the cost of postage, nor the value of the ring. Never in my life have I experienced such unprofessionalism and disorganisation. My heart it absolutely broken and I have no idea how the staff saw a valuable silver ring and didn't think it needed to be sent by registered post. An appalling experience. Would absolutely not recommend.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite hotels during my time in Ireland. Clean and charming with a great top floor patio directly facing the Castle. The restaurant was also nice, with traditional Irish fare done very well.
