Well, after hunting around for somewhere to eat, we found the Trinity Restaurant. We looked at their menu online and decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad we did. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent and the location was very relaxing. I had the Breaded Trout, and my wife had the 12oz NY Strip Steak. Both meals were excellent and flavorful. The steak was done to perfection, ordered medium rare, and my trout was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we shared a sticky toffee pudding, which was a good as if not better than the ones I grew up with in England. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. The price is a bit up there but well worth it, in my opinion. I'd give 6 stars if I could. I highly recommend this place. We ate early at around 4 pm, and by the time we left, it was very busy, and this was a Sunday.

Google
Great restaurant with excellent service at an amazing location. The food was hit and miss - with the nachos being so so and the steak salad being incredible. The bread rolls were very soft and came with generous salted butter for each roll. Cheesecake with huckleberry was amazing. Caesar was so so. The view is stunning and I would highly suggest eating outside. Cocktails were good too. Service was top notch - everyone had a sense of urgency and checked in on us frequently.

Arrived one hour before closing. The food was very good. It took longer than customary for our food to arrive so the waitress offered a free dessert (one of which we accepted) and more bread (which we didn’t need.) Beautiful view, great service, great food!

Google
Both of our meals came out luke warm. The food would have been ok if hot but especially fries need to be hot! The reuben seemed to be thrown together and not made with care. All the sauce was a blob in one spot and the meat was not evenly distributed. Way too much bread for a little bit of meat. The waitress had so much perfume on it gave us both a headache. The atmosphere on the deck is wonderful right at the lake. Wish it would have been a better experience.

Google
This place is phenomenal! Great food, even greater dessert. Our server, Jake, went above and beyond to make this experience enjoyable. Their staff is very attentive. Thank you so much, Jake!

We've lived here for three years and this is the first time coming to Trinity at City Beach. We will be there again. We were told that it was super expensive and the type of place you would come for an anniversary or birthday. Turns out it's not terribly expensive. The service is impeccable. We had four entrees and three glasses of wine for a hundred bucks. The New York strip that I got was so tender and delicious. Next time I go back I'm going to get the filet to round out my porterhouse. I also had pulled pork enchiladas. The mole a sauce was and the pulled pork was tender. The wife had crab which were fluffy and full of crab. The view of the lake was beautiful. The tables are separated so you don't feel crowded. I can't wait to go back.

Google
Wonderful experience for lunch! Good menu with well done favorites. I had the Poutine! Fries, gravy, cheese: perfect. The serving was huge and that was all I ate for lunch. For dessert we shared a Gluten Free chocolate and vanilla cake. It was delicious. Definitly recommended if you need or like GF. But the food is only part of the package. The view from the patio is beautiful. It is covered and offers views of the beach, lake, and mountains. Great service makes a wonderful experience. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
It was a bit tricky to find the entrance as there is no sign, but it's located on the south end of the Best Western. The Crawfish & Corn Chowder was very good. But I was disappointed in the Blackened Steelhead Salmon Sandwich. First off, the plates were fresh out of the dishwasher & very hot! Not just warm, literally HOT! The salmon itself was a HUGE thick piece, approximately 7-9oz and was actually very good and perfectly cooked. But the sourdough bread was more like dried out than toasted (no browning at all) & the 2 slices of tomato weren't cored and very underripe. Also, no red onion as stated on the menu and very little aioli. I asked for lettuce on the side (expecting a leaf of lettuce), but it was finely shredded in a little bowl & very wilted from the hot plate. Overall, the sandwich was surprisingly bland and very dry. I took it apart and only ate the salmon. Side of pea salad was just okay too. While the staff was friendly, they loudly called across the restaurant to each other. Very unprofessional...probably won't return. So disappointed because the menu looked so promising! Too many other great places to try in Sandpoint.

Yelp
Attached to the Best Western Hotel! The entrance is under the roof area. Great views Service was wonderful! Friendly, accommodating, quick Food was delicious! Housemade veggie burger was so good! The fish and chips was nice and crispy.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends. Didn't think much of it initially since it is located in the Best Western but I was pleasantly surprised. They ran out of prime rib the night I came so I ended up ordering the trout and corn and crawfish chowder. The chowder had great flavor but I didn't see any crawfish in it. The trout was cooked well and tasted good. It had a big piece of fish, very large pieces of broccolini and a tiny portion of rice. Multiple people on our table ordered trout and it seemed as if they began to run out of rice bc the portions seems to get smaller the more plates they brought out. Another friend got the scallops and a different friend got lamb. They said they enjoyed their food and it was all cooked nicely. For dessert, one friend got the sticky pudding and another got tiramisu. Both were large portions and more than enough to share. Service overall was good and we all enjoyed our food.

Yelp
The violinist was a surprise bonus and unfortunately it was his last night! Food was good as were the drinks

Yelp
We went here while in Sandpoint for a bachelorette party. We had a pretty large group and although we got sat right away, the service was very slow. They didn't have enough menus for all of us - so, we had to pass the two they had around. Not a huge deal, we had to wait long enough to order that they almost made it around the table. The service was also a little awkward - a couple different people came by and kept telling us to go visit a particular bar, which, I guess the owner is also the owner of? It just felt really pushy. The location is fantastic! It's right on the water, so if you're lucky enough to visit on a nice day and get a seat outside you will certainly enjoy it! The food wasn't bad. We ordered the crab cakes and calamari to start. The crab cakes were good, but the calamari was flavorless. If it weren't the dipping sauce and being so hungry - I don't think I could have eaten them. For my entree, I got the chicken It had nice flavor - wasn't the flavor I expected, but it still tasted good. I think if I'm in Sandpoint again I'll try something new, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying this again someday.

Yelp
Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is upscale, but casual, lakeside dining, and every table has a view of the lake. I had the Chicken Florentine Alfredo, which had a wonderful cream Alfredo sauce that was topped with a generous amount of fresh grated parmesan cheese. The penne pasta was cooked al dente, as it should be. The wife had the Pasta Primavera, which had a very flavorful and spicy sauce, and the penne was also prepared wonderfully. Service was very good. They offer live entertainment five nights a week, and have a Happy Hour daily. The evening we were there they had a violinist and guitarist/vocalist. There is a large outdoor seating area overlooking the beach, and a large lounge/bar area. The restaurant is part of the Best Western Hotel building, but the entrance is not identified well. The building is part of the "City Beach Park" area downtown. We ate at six different restaurants in Sandpoint / Ponderay while visiting, and Trinity was the best!Reservations should be made well in advance to get seated around six o'clock, as the place fills up quickly at prime dinner hours.

Yelp
My mother and I went out for a quick meal at Trinity. No appetizer, no salad, just an entrée for each of us. I had the grouper with broccolini and rice pilaf, and my mother had the salmon risotto. My grouper was very good. It had a pat of lemon butter on top. Grouper is a meaty white fish. It had a breading and was sautéed. The broccolini was cooked perfectly, and the rice pilaf had a lot of flavor. I think the dish was a tad bit expensive, but it was good. My mother had salmon risotto. The risotto was flavorful but I think the risotto didn't quite soak up all the liquid and was just a tad soupy, but it did have lots of flavor. There was a nice big, perfectly cooked piece of salmon on top of the risotto, which was delicious. Our male server was very friendly and excellent. It was a busy Sunday evening but the meal came out promptly and we had no complaints. This interior REALLY needs some tender loving care. It would just require some elbow grease and very little money to clean, paint and spruce the place up with some imaginative decorating. A world of difference could be had in just a few days of work.

Yelp
We ate here twice on our four day vacay, and tried to eat here a third day but it was closed. It's quickly become our favorite Sandpoint stop, because it's right off the water with solid food and drinks. This most recent trip we brought our kids and they had a great variety on the kids menu and a patio where we could watch them playing in the grass. I wasn't in love with the Lions Mane mushroom burger I got because it came as a few seasoned mushrooms on a bun with runny slaw, but I've loved everything else I've gotten: fish and chips, Greek salad, ahi salad, clams, calamari, burgers... we eat here quite a bit.. :) The service is also kind and quick, as we threw sporadic orders at them-- everything came out hot and fast!

Janey C.

Yelp
Ordered chicken florentine alfredo. Might as well called it pasta soup. It was that liquidy. Told two servers.. they didn't care. Servers were not attentive and seemed short staffed.
google avatar

Yelp
The entree food (pork tenderloin) was not a tenderloin, it was pork pieces & not as the menu described. The scallops were cooked well but the food was bland with no flavor. We had an appetizer too and found no menu item we ordered with flavor. We will NOT be back. The service was fine. The seating area was clean.

Yelp
Love this place! Great views, great service, great food. Hoping to reopen at some point!

Yelp
My mom wanted to eat here for her birthday. I wondered why she'd pick a restaurant attached to a Best Western. After eating here, now I know why. We started our celebration in the bar, where Lance whipped up delicious lemon drop cocktails. We had one regular and another with huckleberry vodka. While I liked both, the huckleberry one was exceptional (and could probably lead to a massive hangover because they're so easy to drink). For dinner, everyone in our party ordered the corn and crawfish chowder. I love chowder, and this is some of the best I've ever tasted. Order a bowl because a cup is not enough. For dinner, I ordered the lobster ravioli which was the perfect amount of pasta, lobster and sauce. My mom got the crab cakes. My stepdad ordered the scallops. We all loved our entrees. For desert we got the blueberry crisp, which IMO would've been better with more blueberries instead of the lemon layer at the bottom. It's still good, but not the best. Our server Matt went above and beyond. He was patient as we were the last party to leave the restaurant and never rushed us. He also had great hair. The only downside to my visit came the next morning, when packing up the car. After loading up all my snowboard gear, I made one last trip inside to get my leftovers, only to realize I locked my keys in the car. Then an hour later after AAA arrived and I'd started my drive home, I realized I forgot my leftovers. So looks like I'll have to come back again!

Yelp
We enjoyed a very wonderful evening dinner on the outdoor patio of this fine restaurant. I had the Halibut stuffed with crab and Brie which was amazing. My wife had the rack of lamb or as our waitress called it lamb lollipops. It also was amazing. Atmosphere was the best and our waitress Nevaeh what's very special. Sad to see that the restaurant will be closing in about a week because they're tearing the building down but we will hopefully see you guys at 113 Main next time.

Yelp
I'm surprised that this place didn't have a line of people waiting to be seated! It's waterfront with ample parking, nice, attentive servers and a good variety of food and beverages. We had their crawfish chowder first. We'd describe it as a southwest style broth, a little spicy, great taste with plenty of corn and crawfish. I enjoyed the tortelloni and hubby enjoyed his prime rib dip with white cheddar because he asked for that instead of whatever cheese comes standard. Their huckleberry lemonade was great! The desserts are not made in-house but I took a slice of cheesecake to go anyway.

Yelp
Did not think restaurants could be this good in Sandpoint! Definitely set a bar that no one else quite met in this town. They were extremely accommodating to our larger party, and the view for dinner was absolutely next level. We will be back if we are in town again!

Yelp
Solid lunch right on the lake. Excellent service, good views, tasty bacon gouda burger, and bug flavor in the corn and crayfish chowder. Recommended!

Thomas S.

Yelp
The restaurant came highly recommended by a local shop owner whose establishment was only 2 blocks away. We asked for recommendations and his immediately recommended Trinity. Seating on the balcony afforded an excellent view of the lake and he stated their chowder was excellent with large bites of potato and crawdad. We arrived and checked with the hostess about seating on the balcony. She said it was available. We then inquired about the bees as it was August and the bees were beginning to become more of a pest than normal. Her reply was "I don't have any control over the bees!" The party of 4 chose seating inside. We were seeking a break from shopping and wanted something to eat. Taking the aforementioned shop owners recommendation the 4 of us ordered 3 bowls of the chowder and 1 ordered of the "Fish & Chips". That was the last we saw of the waitress until she brought the bill! The chowder had no "bites" of potato or crawdad, and was very spicy!! It was so spicy that I was unable to finish it and I do like spicy foods!! The waitress never checked on how the food was, did we need more drinks or was there anything else we would like!! I did observe her checking with other tables!! I must say that overall the waitress, her attention to us and the food was a "solid 1 star" dining experience!! If you want mediocre food and pathetic service, the Trinity will meet your dining expectations but there is not chance it will exceed them!!

Yelp
The views from the outside deck were great! They were very busy for the Sunday brunch service took awhile to be seated, but we still enjoyed the meal. Server Jaimie was extra helpful and friendly. Ahi salad was the hit of the day. Fresh warm rolls melted in your mouth. Wine selections and prices were excellent! Highly recommended for a spring or summer afternoon visit.

Yelp
Trinity just extended their hours to include lunch and dinner during the COVID pandemic. They have done a nice job eliminating tables to give very good spacing and they have done a nice job of cleaning tables between guests. They also have deck seating with overhead heaters. On our visit today it was relatively slow, so attention at the table was very good. It always is anyway. The food was outstanding, as usual. The French Dip and Cajun Mac&Cheese were the meals of choice and both were outstanding. The sweet potato fries that my wife ordered with her French Dip were also amazing. A plate of those would serve as a great appetizer by themselves. We finished off the meal with a single tiramisu, which is our long standing favorite here. Looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Beautiful spot to sit outside and enjoy the fall weather! Service and food was top notch! We will definitely be back when we are in town again!

Laurie N.

Yelp
Food tasted really good! That's not the issue. It's portion size and cost. Sat in the lounge area. Asked to sit outside was told thirty minute wait. Literally less than five minutes later a table of four come in right after us, and they're told there's a table available outside immediately. Ordered off the lounge menu. Husband ordered the mahi mahi tacos. He swears it was three tacos last time we ate there, it's now two. Fish in the tacos is minimal. Two tacos $16! With nothing else! I ordered the ahi salad at 16.95. It had maybe six paper thin slices of ahi. Again, tasted excellent but not worth 16.95. We're locals and we won't be eating at Trinity again. So bummed.

Yelp
Our experience meeting Orange Girl: There are many colors in the rainbow.. but it just had to be Orange didn't it. She said it with the intensity of the sun, Orange was her favorite color. At first we didn't quite take her for an Orange kinda girl. As complimented by the beauty of her eyes we figured she'd be a green girl, maybe a purple charm, but she blue us out of the water. -Soul 1 Orange doesn't even rhyme with anything. Anyways, food was delicious, place was clean and staff was friendly. -Soul 2

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite places. Views from every seat. Even better outside when the weather is good. The service is ALWAYS great. Never ate anything I didn't like. Those clams though!!
google avatar

Rhonda B.

Yelp
Food is amazing outside on the patio looking out at the lake. Sad it was closed Tuesday & Wednesday so we couldn't enjoy patio dining this time.
google avatar

Autumn S.

Yelp
Trinity at City Beach is all about the location! The beach view is hard to beat. Friendly staff. My only gripe is I wish there were more vegetarian options (more than just pasta).
google avatar

Lana E.

Yelp
Great spot on the beach at Sandpoint, they allow dogs on the patio. Food is mediocre and drinks are yummy but watered down. Located in a Best Western hotel on the beach - older building but great attentive service.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a birthday and a 10 wedding anniversary. Originally we had reservations at a different restaurant but after reading the menu we changed our mind. We are so happy we did. The staff was amazing! Brooke seated us prepped our table we asked her several questions and although she was not our server she was very helpful. Amber who was our server did a fantastic job. She was incredibly engaged with our table throughout our entire meal. The entrees were delicious especially the trout and Prime Rib. Several times throughout our meal the manager Bri checked in to ensure that our dining experience was great. Thank you to the staff at Trinity for making our special evening incredible! We will be back!
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
I've been several times, and this is such a great place to meet friends or take out-of-town guests. You can't beat the view, the food is phenomenal, the drinks are strong, the desserts are good (and soup is, too!) They were even polite to my very drunk parent. It's a classy place without feeling stuffy. Great for special occasions.
google avatar

Glamma 4.

Yelp
Came to celebrate hubby's birthday and everyone in our party loved their meals! Prime rib, shrimp, rack of lamb, good wine and brews and topped off with a great dessert! Our server was attentive and on point! Can't beat the views from the dining room or deck!

Yelp
Really good menu. Good ambience with view of the lake. Good service. Burger good, fish & chips okay batter not too great.
google avatar

Lesa S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the experience here and even though they were busy we got seated fairly quickly so was pleased with that! Staff was prompt and friendly. I would definitely recommend eating here
google avatar

Jamie O.

Yelp
This place is always a hit. Consistently good service with fantastic food and drinks. They are family friendly, especially in the summer when your kids can run on the grass and beach outside. The kid's menu does suck. Wish they would offer fruit/veggies/salad as a side. And add some veggies/condiments on the burgers/quesadillas/etc. The adult menu is good - super delicious salads (the best!), tasty sandwiches, and other things like fish n chips. We've never had bad adult food here. Their bar is also on point, with a good selection of beer/wine/cocktails *Updated to say the kids menu is still boring/unhealthy (typical restaurant kid food), though they have apple slices as a side option now. And their sweet potato fries are significantly better than the normal fries. Some of our favorite meals are the Blackened Chicken & Brie salad, the Pecan Crusted Chicken salad, and the Ahi salad. And my favorite drink from there is a Bloody Mary.
google avatar

Mary Jo K.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Sandpoint. Good food , great view of the lake. Bring a blanket in the fall to sit outside and watch the mountains and the colors start to change. My favorite dish is the pecan crusted chicken salad.

David P.

Yelp
The food is great and seating on the patio is worth the wait for the view of the lake and mountains. Service time was good but I only saw two employees smile while there for lunch. I have always enjoyed the food here and the servings are plentiful.
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
We come here often and the prime rib is always amazing. The service is on point and the views on lake pend Orielle are so beautiful. This is a great place to come for a special celebration.
google avatar

Turd F.

Yelp
Usually have Trinity a couple times each summer, and it seems to get worse every time. Waitress was slow, inattentive and unfriendly. Chimichurri burger was completely missing chimichurri, and fries weren't good either. The pulled pork nachos were an embarrassment, I wish I had taken a picture to show the complete lack of pork and cheese. It was basically warm tortilla chips, with a cheesy bite thrown in on one out of every 3 chips, and 2oz of pork spread sparingly across the plate. Unlikely to return, and DO NOT get the pork nachos.

Leigh C.

Yelp
AMAZING!! we brought in a whole group or and had them cook it, as well as make the sides, along with homemade tortillas, guacamole, beans, etc. It was fabulous! The whole milk was less than $70, and that included adult beverages.
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants! We stopped by for our anniversary last night. Friendly staff, gluten free options, and a great atmosphere!
google avatar

tonya s.

Yelp
Always my go-to with visitors (amazing views of the mountains and lake) as well as my "don't want to cook Monday night" or lunch with friends. Caesar salad with crawfish chowder, or the pecan crusted chicken salad are always reasonable and yummy. Always welcoming, clean and friendly service.

P C.

Yelp
The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Fine for families and romantic occasions. The patio affords beautiful scenery Thursday evening we had a singer/guitarist and a fiddler entertaining us. The waitstaff was attentive and cheery. We had a marvelous anniversary dinner and will be back again.
google avatar

Genesa L.

Yelp
We've been twice and it's our new favorite place in Sandpoint!!! We have ones that need to avoid gluten, dairy, others that avoid meat, ones that love meat/dairy/gluten. So needless to say eating out can be difficult. But trinity fits the hill for all of us. Super fresh food. The quinoa bowl is to-die-for!!!! And when it's gorgeous weather you must sit outside! When it's not sit by the windows and enjoy the view.
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
Always a winner in my book! I don't believe they have bunch anymore but these days it's always good to check-on dates, time, ect! Love having this local cafe! Wonderful owner and staff.
google avatar

Alana R.

Yelp
Rave: The service was incredible. Very good wine selection. Sat outside with a killer view of city beach. The rolls were delish. Ordered clams which were marinated in a divine sauce heaven sent! Rant: The poutine and Ahi salad ordered were mediocre at best. Needs some work. The Ahi wasn't fresh and the gravy cheese curd to fry ratio needs improvement. Way more fries than gravy or cheese curds to cover them. Conclusion: Would revisit again and recommend.

Jill M.

Yelp
The view was nice outside, and the service was good. The food was OK. Probably wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Marianne D.

Yelp
A large group had reservations for lunch to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. When we arrived the restaurant was closed because of a faulty dishwasher. We mentioned that we were this large party and the personnel immediately told us that they WERE definitely going to serve our group, but ONLY our group. We were well taken care of; the food, the drinks and the service was outstanding! We can't thank Trinity enough for accommodating our group for such a special occasion!
google avatar

Nate S.

Yelp
Great food, great service. These people call you back to get you in. They treat you well. They are knowledgeable about food. 1st class establishment.

Melissa W.

Yelp
Beautiful view and great service. However, my boyfriend and I ate the pork nachos, and we both got food poisoning.
