Yelp
The Trinity Beach Tavern is a lovely choice for great views over-looking the Trinity Beach Esplanade and ocean from the balcony of the outdoor dining area-if you're not too fussed about the food, just the view. The staff are friendly and the sports coverage for those wanting to watch rugby, cricket, AFL etc are terrific, with numerous flat screen t.v's spread around the dining and sports areas. Not sure that this is appealing to the majority of families who aim to dine out without there being a t.v around though.
I've found the menu for both lunch and dinner lacking in versatility, extensiveness and has usually left me wondering when management are going to take a good look at what their customers are looking for, to create a new dining experience that will make them want to return. I find myself wondering whether I should just go with Chicken Parma and chips or Caesar Salad-aka-boring. There is no flair or imagination used to create the kind of menu that entices customers to return again and again. The prices I think, for the kind of menu offered, are steep. The food is average and the sizes are on the small side. Ordering is via counter-service, but on the plus side, the meals are brought out to your table.
A morning tea consisting of a slice of cake (large) adorned with cream and a scoop of ice-cream cost $11.95, which again, I though was a bit steep, particularly when the cake, assured as being made on the premises, tasted as if it had come directly from a Sarah-Lee box. Our visit on this occasion, for 5 people for a coffee and cake, amounted to over $70. Very disappointing.
I wouldn't hurry to return to the Trinity Beach Tavern any time soon unless I'd heard there had been a major overhaul of the menu and prices. You're really better off heading down to the corner Bar and Grill for an assured excellent meal worth both the price and the view. PS-Pokies available for those who love them.
