Nature and Parks in Toronto

"According to Treepedia, an MIT project that measures green canopies in locations around the world, Toronto is one of the world’s greenest cities, and this west end park is a favorite among locals. Highly central and accessible, this large green space has a dog area, community center, farmers market, and various outdoor sports arenas. On summer weekends, the verdant area is always packed with picnics, slackliners, and cyclists. Trinity Bellwoods is known for its vibrancy and community, and with restaurants and breweries directly adjacent, it’s the perfect spot to spend an afternoon." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Yelp
April 23, 2023 - nice park to walk around, it's actually quite big. Lots of space for groups to have picnics and other activities. I was here once before and there was a DJ, that was cool! I enjoyed the walk and cherry blossoms.

Yelp
This park is enormous and has lots of unique sections to the park. I came here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May. Temperatures hovered around 23 degrees, and everyone was out enjoying their day... laying in the grass and playing music, etc. The vibes here are extremely chill. Plenty of those with their drinks, smoking pot, etc but all in harmony without issues. This is a fantastic place for a picnic or to bring a glove and baseball. So much space! I can't wait until I find myself back in Toronto in the summer to come back!

Yelp
Trinity Bellwoods is an absolute oasis in the heart of downtown. Once you step into the park, it's almost as if all your stresses are instantly lifted. Sprawling with mature trees, a splash pad, tennis courts and multiple pathways, Trinity Bellwoods is the ideal spot for a picnic. Just visit one of the many nearby shops on Queen Street West for your favourite eats, spread out a blanket on the cushy grass, and absorb all the sights and sounds. Side note: this is Toronto's prime spot for people-watching! Although the park can get quite busy during the warmer months, you'll always find a patch of grass to soak up the great outdoors - and there's a 100% chance you'll meet new pals, too. If you're looking for the perfect place to park yourself for an afternoon, admire the CN Tower from yet another angle, and bask in the sun - this is it!

Yelp
Not to be confused with Neo Knockerforest Park, or Morpheus Doorhandlejungle Park. I was pretty shocked to find that bicycle cops are handing out fines to the many many people that drink here, cuz I think it's a disgusting use of public money and is daylight robbery. Of course it's worse in America as you can get arrested for that stuff, but I still find it ridiculous in a country such as Canada and in a city such as Toronto, and in a neighbourhood such as this. This is probably the most hipster Park in Toronto and I liked it, but at the same time for the reasons I stated I don't like it.

Yelp
If not for High Park, this would warrant five stars but if you can visit only one park while in Toronto, it should be High Park for sure. There is ample parking on nearby side streets here, but you can only park for an hour. I didn't get a ticket for going over, but I only went over by maybe half an hour tops, so I don't know how closely they monitor, but I do know that they do have very active employees throughout Toronto. You can't lose yourself here as well as you can in High Park. There's no nature trails that I saw, just some paths for walking and biking. There's no shortage of trees, but you never forget you're in the middle of a city. They have a nice playground that's more than adequate. It just doesn't compare to the amazing set up at High Park, though I don't remember if High Park has a splash pad as I think this park does. It wasn't operating last Wednesday even though it was super hot, but it certainly looked like there was a splash pad. I basically walked from my car at one side of the park to Nadege across the street from the NE corner before exploring more of downtown Toronto on foot. If you just want to stretch your legs and visit a nearby patisserie like Nadege or coffee shop like White Squirrel Coffee, it's perfect. Sadly I didn't see any famed white squirrels apart from the mural behind Nadege.

Yelp
Always a great spot to enjoy those beautiful trees and multiple pathways. Great place to picnic or take a nice walk. Gets a bit busy in summer time though.

Yelp
I went to Toronto for the first time a couple weeks back and asked a friend of mine who'd grown up there what all I should do while I was in town. He recommended a visit to Trinity Bellwoods Park, so I went with my husband to check it out and explore the neighborhood. It was a great park, spacious and green, with a lot of public play and picnic areas and a number of very fine dogs. We might have lingered a bit on another afternoon, but it was a rainy day, and we were caught out without hoods or umbrellas. We walked through the park anyway, and it was pretty pleasant, though I'm sure the people/dog watching would've been better on a sunny day. I always enjoy visiting parks, particularly while traveling, and I thought Trinity Bellwoods was lovely. Would definitely suggest a stroll if you're wandering around Toronto.

Yelp
What's not to love about this iconic park?! It's clean, tons if open green space to chill, a few tables spread around and lovely walking paths. The gated entrance is just so nice to walk through - very picturesque. This is definitely a popular spot on weeknights and weekends so definitely try on a weekday if you want a little more peaceful time. The best part is that if you want to get a nibble you can run right onto Queen W and grab something to go back to the park with. So lay back and enjoy the greenness around you!

Yelp
The haven in the West Side. I mostly come for the softball. Three diamonds , including one with lights, affectionately called Skydome. The spiritual home of the Queen Street Softball league and it's assorted cast of characters. Nice for chilling, people watching , and dog walking. The living beating heart of hipster West end Toronto.
google avatar

Vanessa R.

Yelp
Despite a lack of loos, this park is great. If it's humid in the city, trees provide shade and grass is chill. It's a dose of nature in the urban jungle. Always good dog&ppl watching opportunities. Bring your own picnic. And if you run out, there is: bellwoods brewery, wine rack, beer store all near by!
google avatar

Yelp
Basically a place for Hipsters to get their drink on in a faux community spirit fashion. Parks should be quiet spaces so please be aware that this is a flight path for Pearson Airport jets ! A Mississauga airport routes its jets over a densely populated area instead of a vacant lake ? Safety much ? But you won't hear your IPA can hit the ground. A scavenger person with a shopping cart full of empties is never more than 10 feet away. Yay.
google avatar

Owen R.

Yelp
MEH. If your a boring 20 something hipster (lots of them here), this is probably 'amazing'. High Park is better, it's nice to have this in the slightly west end, pop in from Queen or Dundas St.
google avatar

Yelp
A lovely place to spend a nice afternoon! And now with a City Pops popsicle cart! There's wonderful flavours with 100% real fruit and no sugar added, a favourite of kids and parents alike! They'll probably be there every day that weather is good for this refreshing treat, but they'll be there tomorrow so grab one while you can, just $3 cash.

Yelp
I take my dog to this park quite often as it's in my 'hood. It's big and there's lots of room for everyone to do whatever they want ... relax, tennis, walk there dogs, soccer, play music, and so much more! For dog owners it's great because there is a large off-leash area. The movie "Dog Park" was filmed there.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
I think it's hilarious that this shows up on Yelp! but hey, it's our cities best park! Why not tell everyone how great it is, huh? I loved this place well before I moved across from it, but the move has not dampened my enthusiasm for it. Lots of green grass to chill, toss a football, throw a frisbee, or play baseball on. Tennis courts too. And tons of benches. Plus a gulley for you to let the dog off leash, if you're so inclined. It's pretty clean, too. And as is the case often times, once you've been there awhile you get hungry, so there's tons to eat around there including Pho Tien Thanh, California sandwich's, Chippy's and Fresh (for the veggies). Go check it out!

Yelp
A group of Yelp Yogi were planning an UYE: Yoga in the Park with Brunch. We couldn't decide which Park to go.... and as Yelpers a strange group of people, we decide to held the event at Trinity Bellwoods Park out of all the Parks in the downtown Core area and it was a big success. A park is a park is a park... There are trees, benches, grass, play area... but TBP has so many good eating places within walking distance!! I am saying cafes right across the street! Brunch places that are decent that it will take me a couple of months to go through them all!?!! Since our event was at 11 AM so mostly families and people jogging in the Park.... It was so good practice yoga underneath the warm sun and with the fresh air........... When are we going to do that again so I can hit another brunch place or two!!

Yelp
Cool place to meet people who aren't from Toronto, and don't give a shite about social distancing.

Yelp
I absolutely love this park! A wonderful neighbourhood gem that welcomes people of all ages including the four legged friends. I've been coming to Trinity Bellwoods since I was a teenager because I was an avid tennis player and spent many weekends at the outdoor tennis courts. I wasn't quite the professional tennis player, but amongst friends and family, it was easy to pretend I was a good player, plus not having to pay for court time was a bonus. As an adult, I don't play tennis anymore, but I like to run or walk through the park as a shortcut to the other side because it's very scenic and pretty in all seasons. Plus the loop surrounding the dog park is great for coaching a beginner runner which I have done last fall. In addition, I love doing yoga in the park and having picnics with friends in the summer. There's even a farmer's market when the weather is warm and plenty of events going on practically every weekend during the spring and summer. Plus the leaves changing in the fall is absolutely a pretty sight for the eyes. Although, the park tends to get extremely busy and often rowdy at times especially during warmer weather, it's still an amazing park filled with a plethora of various interesting people. One can easily spend the day people watching and admiring the various stylish outfits or lack of clothing at times. Be prepared for an eclectic exposure beyond your eyes can imagine and be ready to divert the eyes of the little ones. The park is massive for being within the city with two baseball diamonds, a hockey rink, eight tennis courts, kids playground, a wading pool and a large off-leash dog park at the centre of the park. Also, there's a Community Centre within the park which consists of a swimming pool, kiddie pool, basketball court, ping pong tables, kids free play time and they also offer various programs for all ages through the Parks and Recreation run by the city. Recently, I've been dog sitting for a friend away on vacation and have been coming to the park quite frequently. I don't venture into the mud pit (i.e. off-leash dog area) because my dog charge is not great with other dogs since he's just happy being outdoors strolling through the park and wagging his fluffy tail. With the weather warming up, most of the snow and ice has melted, and the mud pit is now like a mini pond, so pretty soon it'll dry up and hopefully be filled with some greenery and flowers. We had a pretty bad winter and without the sunshine, the place can look pretty dreary, but it's still a great place for the four legged friends to roam around freely and the backdrop of the city skyline does look very beautiful throughout the day/evening. I cannot wait for the spring and summer so we can all enjoy the park to the full extent. Who doesn't like a good picnic in the park? Plus wine in tetra packaging is totally acceptable and probably the only time you can appreciate not having a bottle to lug around. Overall, Trinity Bellwoods Park is definitely an oasis within the city filled with great energy by everyone who visits or walks through the park. Plus location is close to the many bakeries and restaurants which makes for an easy stop to pickup goodies and food to bring to the the park no matter what season.

Yelp
This is such a spacious park, which had an off-leash dog area, tennis courts, baseball diamond, and paths for walking or running. It is in a great spot of downtown Toronto, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. It never feels crowded because it is so open and spread out. Great place for some solo-downtime or a picnic with a group of friends!

Yelp
What a beautiful, vast, Winter...outhouse for dogs! Two words: YELLOW SNOW. If you hate man's best friend - or hipsters for that matter - I'd steer clear of this park. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to go skating with friends and the demographic was primarily young families (teaching toddlers to skate & tobogganing) + dog walkers. I'm not a fan of yellow snow, but as a burbanite, I think it's really special to have such a 'green space' in the middle of the city. Another bonus was that I did not hafta pay to skate. If you were in the 'burbs, paying to participate in this Canadian right of passage would not even be an option, but mandatory. Aside from Nuit Blanche and a coupla other events, I have not been inside Trinity Bellwoods on a regular day, so I have no clue what it's like without the snow, tents, or art installations set up.

Yelp
I have had the silliest and most beautiful times in this darn park. I'm a busy girl, but we all have those weeks where you just need to excuse yourself for fifteen minutes and stare at something lovely. You know, otherwise you might implode. I had one such moments last week, and I found myself on a bench overlooking the thawing leashless dog pit. An afternoon that began with painful doubt was suddenly twisted on it's head and full of possibilities. Puppy watching is. the. best. I also bought shoes. So maybe I'm giving the park too much credit. Nah, I'm not. Puppies!

Yelp
Trinity-Bellwoods is a perfect urban park. How do I know? Because in the summer it is packed with people and all of the park features are actively used. Tennis courts, baseball diamonds, kiddie area, off-leash dog area and LOTS of space for playing disc, catch and having picnics. It marks the boundary between Queen West and West Queen West and Dundas to the north so it benefits from an eclectic, active and attractive crowd. With Queen St to the south it also benefits from an ample number of cute shops and counters to pick up a quick bite to bring to the park and enjoy. Trinity is great thanks to the wide variety of activities and location but it's still very much a part of the urban experience . If you are looking to escape the urban environment look to High Park or a hike through one of the river systems like Humber or the Don River.
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
I believe this is the biggest park in downtown Toronto, and probably is the busiest park in downtown toronto. Nice park to visit, especially during summer time and cherry blossom season.
google avatar

Martin S.

Yelp
Parks that get well used are a feature of Toronto that sets it apart from other places. Get a view from the CN Tower in the summer and it will be obvious how much green space there is in the city. Toronto is made up of people living among trees, and Bellwoods Park is some of the urban forest. There is a rec center with art deco style indoor pool as seen in the movie, Take This Waltz, a toboggan hill in the middle, tennis courts, soccer field, cool vintage entrance gates on Queen, great coffee and fish n chips nearby on Queen, and plenty of shade trees to cool your heels at. More and more events have been scheduled and taken place at Bellwoods with music concerts, Luminato events, making Bellwoods feel like home for so many people!

Yelp
A great park to play Pokemon Go. There were a good amount of pokestops and a good spawn rate. I was here when alot of Eevee's were spawning here. I managed to get a 90%+ IV Eevee.

Yelp
Great park to chill and act like high school kids if that's what you're into. Not so great with the kid as the roads are horrible. Nonetheless it's our hood and we love it for what it is. Hope the city has improved their maintenance standarts this year and we have no unfortunate incidents.
google avatar

Yelp
Love, LOVED this park! It's SO huge and everyone was just laying out in the sun, having picnics, reading books, etc. Ahhhh....now that's the life! We went to the huge "dog bowl" that had tons of dogs running around (unfenced area) on the grass. Our pup had a blast here and everyone was really friendly. You can do some mini hikes up the hills and get a good workout, too!

Yelp
Trinity Bellwoods Last Saturday morning I woke up to the sweltering heat and all I could think of was the 5 Margheritas I drank the night before and how I wished all the singing birds and playing children in my beautiful neighborhood would SHUT THE HELL UP. My plan to buy out the city of muzzles and place them single-handedly on every kid and canine on my Street did not seem practical so I went to Trinity Bellwoods park with my my pug instead (and no, even he wasn't wearing a muzzle). The park is absolutely lovely, green, sweeping and full of picnicking couples, who probably picked up food from the plethora of restaurants located just across the street, enjoying the break from the hustle and bustle of the city even in the centre of it (the park is located in the trendy Queen and Bathurst area). There is also an off-leash area where the dogs and owners congregate safely in a deep, valley-like section of the park. However, beware dog parents: DO NOT take your dog off leash anywhere else in the park or you are likely to get a ticket by an eager cop hiding within Trinity's lush greenery hoping to make his quota. Bellwoods is, in other words, a healthy cure for a hangover and if it doesn't work, there is always Chippy's - a famous spot for Fish N' Chips - directly across the street.

Yelp
Trinity Bellwoods Park is a fairly large urban park in the Ossington-Queen West neighbourhood. The jungle gym is somewhat new and the splash pond is a popular spot for children. There is a public washroom there. As far as parks go, it's just too popular for me. There are a lot of people around on a warm weekend afternoon, which makes it a bit loud and difficult to navigate freely. It's to be expected in a dense urban area, but the garbage left behind by people makes it unsightly. Great location though as there are numerous good restaurants around.
google avatar

Vanessa G.

Yelp
Anyone who thinks Toronto doesn't have enough green space needs to go to Trinity Bellwoods Park. It's located in Queen West and sprawls from Dundas to Queen and from Crawford and Shaw to Gore Vale. This 37-acre park features beautiful tennis courts, picnic space, a sports field, and a pool. I live right across from Trinity Bellwoods and I always make a point of walking through it whenever I can. There are always tons of people there, and thankfully, there's also lots of space. It would be a great place to have a picnic and I've seen many a Torontonian taking a nap under one of the park's countless trees. If you're looking for an escape from the concrete jungle, try this gorgeous west end park - you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I find this place to be one of the best places to cut through, read, spend a day lounging, play soccer or baseball, go dog-spotting, whatever really. On a sunny day it's one of the best places to be in. As soon as the weather warms, the park comes alive on Saturday and Sundays, with people pushing strollers, walking dogs, playing around. Oh, and there's picnic tables available for lunching, playing card or board games, or what-have-you. Because of the size, Trinity Bellwoods tends to be home for a lot of festivals and pavilions. Check the schedules around to see if there's anything that piques your fancy out of all of these. Oh, and one of the best features is the outdoor hockey rink which is iced in the winter for pick-up games of shinny, which is about as Canadian as the maple trees that dot the park. It's the perfect place to grab some fish and chips from Chippy's, eat, relax, and enjoy the day.

Michelle J.

Yelp
Great children's playground and splash pad. However, yesterday multiple heroin needles were found in the sand where children play. Today, a drug vile was found in a high-traffic area by the splash pad. More and more tents are popping up in this park - close to the children's play areas. If you have children, make sure to inspect the sand and grass for needles. It's a shame that kids can't be care-free - in a park.

Yelp
If you are a hipster then there is no better place to get drunk off your face than smack dab in the middle of this park. Tall cans, bottles, bongs and pipes this place is filled with them, fixie bikes and plaid clad people everywhere. It's a hipster party all night and day long. If you are not a hipster, STAY HOME! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE.

Ronald P.

Yelp
Fantastic urban park. Great place to relax with friends in the summer. Trinity bellwoods is a great summer park.
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
Went here for the first time the other day when a friend, who traveled all the way from Waterloo, had a little birthday picnic in the park. I knew there had to be something great about this place if my friend was choosing to brave the 401/427 Gardiner traffic just to come to Trinity Bellwood Parks. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised! This is a nice little park located on the Queen Streetcar line (convenient for me), but also very accessible for cyclists and motorists. The park was beaming with groups of people engaged in various leisurely Saturday afternoon activities. There are picnic tables along much green space (okay, kinda brown because it's been a dry summer - so bring a blanket to sit on) for groups to gather and hangout. It never felt too crowded, and while we were approached a few times by bottle collectors, I did not let this bother me. I can now add this to my list of great places to just chill out in the city!
google avatar

Bobby N.

Yelp
At first it took awhile getting used to this park, but after moving in the area it became a common hangout for me. Yes being on Queen Street there are lots of hipsters and some of them do things like play with hula hoops, slack line and kick a bag around. Anything but real sports because its pretty tough in skinny jeans to kick a ball. This winter though has been something else and just as I decided to embrace Canadaism further, and take up hockey as my winter sport. The ice rink here is great, the schedules are available online and it is never busy for public skate as some of the more commercial rinks. Usually I go when there is adult shinny and have to say the guys have been pretty welcoming allowing a newbie like me to join in and play, even though I spend much of my time falling over. So NHL might be not far off but in the meantime I got this great park to live with and although during the summer it can be full of weirdos; there are none at the moment so take your sledges and go ride into some dog shit.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Although this park is large and located close to my place, I rarely come here. Perhaps because I don't have a kid, a dog, or a pair of skinny jeans and a fedora. The gentrification of this park makes people-watching a complete waste of time. The most exciting thing I've heard or seen is hipster moms deciding which restaurant they should go to for lunch with their 2 kids and dog. Here's a novel idea: How about you actually cook some of your own vegan food from all the fair trade organic shit you buy from the farmer's market? Oh right... you don't 'cook' you 'prepare' because you eat 'raw'. This is everything I hate about the world today. There are just too many people here, period. This is why most of the grass is trampled, leaving lfew spaces of soft grass for picnicking. Since I LOVE to eat and drink in the park, I do both--despite the fine for drinking in public. I figure if I get dinged it's less than $100 and I save at least that much by dining and drinking al fresco vs. most nearby restaurants. So the many cops on bicycles don't really scare me, but they ARE annoying. FYI, despite it's gentrification, TB remains one of the parks most frequented by bicycle cops handing out fines for drinking in public. Make sure to cover up-- and I don't mean sunscreen or shade-- I'm talking about your wine bottle and glass. Or your can of PBR, since the people in this park seem to like that beer. They also seem to like non-prescription horn rimmed glasses, whining about not having a boss?? (yes, i feel sorry for you.) and complaining how nearby restaurants won't allow their dogs in for lunch. See ya!

Yelp
3 words: Free. Tennis. Courts. I love playing tennis out in the open air here with dogs running around and the occasional crazy person yelling nonsense, just to make things urban and interesting. The courts aren't perfect (the ones in the rear have steel nets and potholes a plenty) and some players stay beyond their welcome but hey, there's no dress code and it's FREE!

Yelp
I feel a little silly reviewing a well-known public park... Trinity-Bellwoods is one of my favourite places in the city. I like to sit on the grassed slope and read in the sunshine when I want to be outside. When I moved to the nieghbourhood two years ago, I decided to take up jogging and T-B has been the perfect place to do this. I run in the mornings or in the dark coolness of late evening. Despite the downtown location, I have never been bothered, harassed or attacked in all my experiences there. Certainly, you have to dodge the strollers, off-leash dogs and bikes on the paved track, but visitors to this park seem to be quite respectful of each other. The only incident of consequence that I have experienced there was when I carried an old drunk back to the group home in the west side of the park after he collapsed, inebriated, under a bench and was shouting for help. Yes, I'm too nice to those who bring trouble unto themselves. For those joggers who like to keep track of distances, one lap of the paved path around "the pit" equals 0.7 km and a lap of the larger loop including "the pit" and Trinity Circle is 0.9 km. Word to the wise: every second Tuesday is drum circle night at Trinity-Bellwoods. This is a special time when hippies and their ilk get together to dance, jump and spin to wild drumming and ululations, all under a thick and hazy fog of pot smoke. Essentially, if you own a tambourine and you think fire poi is coooooooool, you belong here. I make sure to keep well away from Trinity-Bellwoods on Tuesday nights. Except for when I forget it's Tuesday. Like last night. D'oh.

Yelp
Oh lucky are the people living anywhere within walking distance of this gem. I don't know where to start. Here is the list of reasons why I will move to queen west so I can frequent Bellwoods: - tai chi being done - there was a pet bunny, on a leash, attached to a bicycle. yup. - hoola hoopers. how hippie are you people? - vodka infused hipsters fighting about rent money. He only owes for hydro!!! - flower headbands and baha sweaters. nuff said - BIKES BIKES BIKES - DOGS DOGS DOGS - jugglers. - a lot of older Asian ladies picking up empty cans...why? i don't know. many reasons as I am sure. - people making out. i love staring at people making out - musical instruments being played, like the hang!!!! (youtube it, you'll be impressed) This place reminds me of Venice beach, sans the beach. It has an awesome atmosphere, makes you wanna read and create and be all artsy fartsy and shiiiet. I highly recommend this for an eating spot, first or subsequent date spot, reading spot, picnic spot and just to catch some sun and chill.

Yelp
Admittedly, I was a bit puzzled at the prospect of writing a yelp review for a public park; but then I've reviewed bridges and monuments so this should be fun in comparison. Trinity Bellwoods is a reasonably sized park in more-or-less downtown Toronto sandwiched between two major thoroughfares of the city - Dundas and Queen st. west, making it very convenient and easily accessible. On countless occasions I've had a picnic here with my partner/friends while having lovely conversations with other picnickers, hipsters, dog owners, homeless people (I realize my categorization is not exclusive) and others. On a sunny day when folks spread out a blanket and spread out over it, they are generally happy, a feeling that is easily rubbed off on others, especially when some alcohol is involved; a behaviour that, I declare publicly, I do not condone. At other times the park has lots to offer for people watching, from sweaty tennis players to a group of old grandfathers sharing a joke. The idea of owning a dog (pet) scares me and therefore I am content at watching other people's dogs chasing frisbee and sniffing fellow canines in the off-leash area of the park. Enjoy your visit! Priyank (http://finaltransit.com/)

Yelp
Once home to the original Trinity College at UofT in Toronto, this is park is the creme de la creme if only for the people watching. VIBE Hipster chic. In the summertime this is the place to watch hipsters playing bicycle polo or hanging out on their hudson bay blankets or checkered/plaid blankets smoking weed and perhaps with a guitar. It's quite fun. I love to come here and picnic whether it's with my Chippys or Porchetta. And is it just me or am I the only one who hasn't seen the white squirrel?! When there's a festival or a market here, it's quite the scene. A lovely walk if anything. Fun for Nuit Blanche as well. There's a community center too -- anyone been? OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK The place to scene and be scene.

Yelp
One of the best parks in the city. You can play tennis, soccer, baseball, walk your dog, bike, sit, read, etc. There are always such fascinating people to just people watch, too. There's a lot of hippies and hipsters doing things like tight rope walking between trees which apparently is a thing but this is the only park in the city I've thus far seen it in. Everyone is generally friendly and/or leaves you alone. It's cool because it stretches from Queen to Dundas and the North and South sides really have a different vibe. The more interesting spot is the more southern part which also has the beautiful gates which are nice to walk through.

Yelp
Exploring Toronto, I came across this park in my most recent walk in the Trinity Bellwoods area. It is an absolutely gorgeous park. Great for running, doing some from of group exercise, maybe a nice stroll or just sitting on a park bench with a coffee. It is also very well maintained. If you are in the middle of the park, you do not realize you are actually in Toronto. If you are in the Queen West area, it is worth taking a stroll through.

Yelp
I'm pretty sure that if Coolio were actually a hipster, he would have sang Hipsters Paradise about Bellwoods instead of his hard gangster lifestyle in the hard streets of LA. Not to say that's a bad thing, because let's face it, that song is cool and so is Trinity Bellwoods. Proving to be a bit of an urban oasis in the west side of downtown Toronto, Bellwoods has something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a great place to take your dog, some pick up soccer, or to drink wine and talk about some obscure bands in the summer sunshine, Bellwoods is your spot. Seriously, this place is great and if I didn't live so far east, I'd probably be here almost every day during the summer.

Yelp
What an awesome park! It's got so many things clicking for it starting with a prime location, nestled between Queen and Dundas St where you're bound to find businesses that offer great food and drinks for people strolling through the park. I was surprised by the variety of landscapes observed here from great hill slopes, huge open spaces, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, playgrounds and tons and tons of people walking dogs! And the crowds here were from a lot of backgrounds so you are not likely to feel out of place. There were also ample amounts of benches despite it being a balmy 27 degrees out in October! Prior to this one location, TBP was just the park that was close to a few coffee shops and eateries I enjoyed, but after a proper afternoon of walking around and taking it all in, TBP feels so much larger than it is and no matter what you want to spend time doing at the park, TBP has got it all!

Yelp
Just an awesome all around chilling spot. You get a character every so often but it's downtown, what do you expect?! Great to bring your dog as well. Always worth visiting when you can get a chance.

Yelp
DOGS DOGS DOGS DOGS!!!!! Dogs get to run free in this park along side their humans. There was this one dog that ran up to all the other dogs and greeted them and invited them into their valley. So cute! Go dogs!

Yelp
I moved here from Alberta a while ago, and really miss my family dogs -- I can't have a dog at the place I live at now. I came here to lay out on the hill near the dog circle area and read a few weeks ago and at the peak of the dog traffic I counted no less than 28 dogs running around and playing together, it was great. It was nice to just hang out and watch them all play together off-leash. Meanwhile, there is always frisbee or softball or hackey-sack or other readers or bike rides or picnics happening at the same time. A great park.
