I've been to Trinity Boxing a few times and I always love it! They really care about teaching proper technique, the classes are super fun, and you get a full-body workout every time. The owner and the coaches are amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and motivating. Highly recommend! 🥊

Been coming here since May 2024 (when I first came, I had ZERO experience even having gloves on my hands) and since then its proven time and time again to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. The training staff is the best of the best (Martin the owner is THE greatest boxing coach), my confidence, strength and muscle tone have never been better, and I really feel like I improve as a boxer after every single class. If you want to try boxing OR if you're experienced looking for a real deal boxing gym, this is your place!

I’m an Aussie who was in NY for a week and looking to keep my boxing fitness up. I dropped into Trinity for a 7am class with John and got my butt kicked in the best way possible! He is a world-class talent and great instructor. Owner Martin was a delight - made me feel so welcome and comfortable and safe. This place is authentic; loved the layout and the memorabilia.

I’ve been going here for almost a month and the amount of technique that I’ve gained is incredible. If you’re looking for a boxing gym that isn’t just another workout place and you want to really learn fundamentals, technique, and best practices this is the spot! The staff are 1) experienced 2) friendly and 3) motivating. They are all willing to help and show you 1 on 1 how to improve your Jabs, crosses, hooks, etc. definitely recommend!

Traditional and nostalgic feeling to this gym, a welcoming environment, knowledgeable and experienced instructors and dedicated leadership.

I really enjoy Trinity Boxing Club. The group classes are a great workout and the atmosphere isn’t intimidating. The gym has an old school feel and people are friendly and focused at the same time. Each trainer is talented and has something different to offer which makes training thorough, dynamic, and fun for all skill levels. I highly recommend it.

If you have not had previous experience with boxing you would think this is the most amazing gym ever. It is not. You pay $300 for “semi private” training. Meaning during the training sessions, at any given time 2-4 trainers on the floor should be ready to work with you. At most you might have 2-3 people in a group with you. The first week was amazing. The trainer worked with me throughout the session and I really felt like I was getting better. 2nd week and the 3rd week came. Things changed and got to reality really quick. The good trainers are usually booked out with personal session which are $$$. After the first week the trainers stop coming around and helping you throughout the session. By this time 85% of your session will be “independent” work. Unfortunately this means that no one is correcting you and molding your technique. You do the same thing everyday. There’s no versatility in your training. There’s no implementation of different exercises that build your skill. You come in jump rope for 2 is rounds (independent), shadow box (independent), then your on the bag (independent), mitts ONLY 2 ROUNDS(trainer), then conditioning (independent). So basically your paying $300 a month for gym access and 2 rounds of mitts. The gym could be much better if the trainers were off their phone and they would cut back on the amount of talking with clients and get serious and passionate about their work. In order to cancel you have to give a 30 day notice. Pro: The bathrooms are clean and the owner is very nice!

Google
What a fantastic place to train. Knowledgeable trainers, great vibe, and Martin to top it all. I trained at their old Greenwich St location many years ago and I was happy to see that they kept the vibe and quality intact. Shoutout to Ursula at the front desk!

Yelp
This gym taught me true grit. I learned how to fight, not just in the ring but in life, when it came to problems, responsibility, and self motivation. In this place I found that true self confidence comes from within and has little to do with the materials you own, the clothes you wear, or the money you make. I was in a bad place when I decided to try boxing. But I knew I was angry and wanted to punch something, so boxing was the light bulb that went off in my head. I did a lot of research trying to find a good gym. I read the whole website and was absorbed in the stories. Immediately inspired I booked it to the subway station. 45 minutes later I almost got cold feet on the 1 train thinking I couldn't walk into a boxing gym, I just thought I didn't belong. The lady at the front desk helped wash away my fears. She was so welcoming and genuine I became a little more comfortable. I signed up and continued to go (nearly weekly) until I left New York. All of the trainers are knowledgeable and good people. But no one tested me as much as Eric Kelly did. He had a nickname for me, 13, because apparently that's how old I look. He was brash, no nonsense, demanding your best only and always. It was exactly what I needed, I improved, I became strong, and most importantly I saw my limits and pushed past them, which was so rewarding. I faced my fears every time I walked into that gym and I felt invincible every time I left. Intensive. Life Changing. Shout out to Eric: thanks for everything.

Yelp
Came here with ClassPass. The space is big and the huge bonus is their shower!! I love taking classes during my lunch hour but coming back to work all sweaty isn't ideal. The instructor was very kind and motivating. While I enjoyed my time here I wish it was a bit more active and more high intensity in between boxing moves

Yelp
I belonged for almost 15 years, pre-pandemic. Great people. They train aspiring amateurs and professionals but readily adjust and accept desk jockeys like me who just want to learn the sport, have a great workout and a little fun.

Yelp
A very cozy area for the gym, a lot of different people there, there is a boxing ring, but what always bothered me in this kind of hall was that the songs almost all over again all the time, as if one and the same flash drive is standing with songs and in a circle ...

Yelp
Boxing may be trendy at the moment, but Trinity doesn't do trends. The INCREDIBLE instructors--many of which are former professional fighters--don't care about that. They care about teaching you the art of boxing, perfecting your technique and sharpening your mind so that you can be ready for a fight -- if that's what you actually want to do. But more than getting incredibly toned and cut (which is what happens when you are consistent with your workouts), the staff at Trinity train your brain. By utilizing techniques that boxers use in the ring, they give you tools to deal with stress, push through whatever hurdle you're facing outside at the gym, but also -- in life. Above all, like so many reviews said, Trinity is a family. I've gone every single day for the past six months. So, when that inevitable time comes when you're feeling too lazy-cold-tired-stressed-enter-your-excuse-here to workout, you're compelled to go to Trinity to see your boxing fam. In a world where the word "authenticity" has been so overused it's lost its meaning, the realness of Trinity, it's instructors and owners will re-center you. If that doesn't motivate you, I'm not sure what will. Come to Trinity! Hey, maybe we'll even spar someday! ;)

Yelp
The trainers and clients are so welcoming!! I live all the way uptown, but a trinity workout is well worth the subway ride! Martin and is staff are amazing!!

Yelp
The scariest part of this gym is walking in the front door. Once you're in, you're treated like family - but a really hard-working, sweaty family that loves to box ;) I recently moved to New York and wanted to learn a new skill and stay healthy in a city that never stops eating & drinking :D. I had tried "boxing" classes in the past but never anything serious. I was drawn to Trinity because other reviews noted how friendly it was for new people. They were spot on! All of the instructors I've worked with have been incredible - patient, positive, but tough. They all have different "styles" so you end up learning a lot quickly. The format is small group, and depending on the time of day, you may end up getting a TON of 1:1 attention. You do 2 rounds of jump rope, 2 rounds shadow boxing, a few rounds on the bags, 2 rounds with a trainer, and strength/conditioning. If you're looking to learn boxing technique in addition to getting a great workout, this is the way. Logistical notes: there are locker rooms with 1 shower each, with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Hand towel service only. You'll need wraps, which you can buy for $10. Bottled water is $2. Thanks Marty and everyone at Trinity for giving me such a warm welcome to NYC!

Yelp
Coming from California, I am constantly surrounded by hard bodies, from weight-room warriors to mixed martial art thugs to boxing hooligans. I've trained with top-ranked professionals (undefeated boxers and MMA fighters), so needless to say, I know how to recognize talent and can accurately judge teaching abilities. Anyway, since my move here, I've been looking for a boxing gym that has a social atmosphere with serious athletes. I stepped into Trinity and felt very welcomed by the desk receptionist. Everyone I encountered was very friendly. I proceeded to take the instruction class: (Rounds are 3 minutes with 1 minute rest) 2 rounds of skipping rope 2 rounds of shadow boxing 1 round of heavy bags 1 round of mitts with an instructor (I don't think the person holding for me was very good, as he did not let me fully extend my arm as I punched. His style could also be more refined) 1 round of heavy bags again 1 round of crosses and hooks 1 last round of shadow boxing "strength" training (punches with cable rope, side twists, sit ups, etc.) I guess this format would be fine, but I was looking for something more cardio intensive. Granted, you get what you put in, but the conditioning leaves a bit to be desired. I wanted plyometrics, jump squats, squat thrusts, lunges, more rounds with mitts (even partnering with other students?) ... I could go on. This gym is perfectly fine if you want an introduction to boxing, but I need something more. I would also recommend Gleason's if you are a _serious_ boxer.

Yelp
Joining Trinity Boxing Club is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I joined three years ago when I felt that I needed to add variety to my physical activity repertoire. I was instantly hooked. You see, it's not only a gym where you work out and get into the best shape of your life, but it's also a place where you meet great friends. Martin, the gym's proprietor, ensures that there is an easy-going, friendly atmosphere at the gym even when you're engaged in a serious butt-kicking workout. Boxing is an amazing sport. Not only does it work out every muscle of your body, but it teaches you tenacity, it builds your mental strength and it gives you confidence. With the help of the top-notch trainers at the gym, you become stronger and learn to move in ways and with speed you never knew your body could handle! If you've tried it and find that boxing is not right for you, I'd recommend giving the bootcamp a shot. In addition to being a natural-born leader, Eddie is an amazing strength and conditioning coach, and knows how to push and motivate you to get to the next level. I've been participating in his bootcamp on and off for over a year and I owe the level of my cardio / endurance to him!

Yelp
This is the real deal. Go to Equinox if you want to be seen in your new lame Under Armour workout gear, but go to Trinity Boxing if you want to have a great workout as well as learn an art form (boxing) built on control and discipline. As an avid athlete my entire life, I've gotten tired of gyms, crossfit is no bueno, so a while back I decided I wanted to box. I looked at all the gyms in NYC and this one is the one I went with based on reputation, reviews, and then visiting and doing a session. The trainers are great, they push you, some of it is tough love, but hey that's what we need to get better. All the workouts are built on an accumulation of 3 minute rounds: jumping rope, shadow boxing, pads, sparring, conditioning. I've found I can workout for 2 hours and still have a lot of fun...so much to learn and improve upon. It's a great place. I really look forward to it and it has me excited to workout again...and I"m learning how to box well!:)

Yelp
This place is becoming my second home. Excellent trainers and club for those who really want to learn how to box/ technique. You learn different techniques and skills from each trainer's style and they all have 10/15+ years experience of boxing. The club itself has a great space/rustic look. & to top it all off, everyone's like a family. Try out one of their trial class if you need the proof! Highly recommend

Yelp
Pardon me while I gush. I just joined this gym last week (have only been twice so far because I've been busy/it appears I avoid doing things that I love?) and I am just SO into it. I'd never boxed before, but for a multitude of reasons recently decided it was what I needed. I've never been so right. I'm basically telling myself "told ya so" throughout my workouts. The first day my trainer was Martin and today it was John. Both of these guys are...just...wow. Yes, the physical aspects have been difficult/exhausting/cathartic/rewarding - but - the MENTAL. Maybe I'm transparent as all hell and they're just reading me like a book, but holy buckets have they hit the nail on the head from such an amazingly human and psychological place as well. They can see where I have difficulties and then help me through them in such an organic and powerful way. Martin is the king of metaphors and John is a perfectly esoteric picture painter. They both make me feel strong (I currently have noodle arms so at the moment I mean on the inside), seen, and understood. Basically I'm in love with this entire thing. I'm sure many days it will just feel like a workout and it'll suck and I'll hate them for making me puke or whatever, but for now I'm just really really grateful. Other details about the place: It's slightly terrifying if you're shy because sometimes there are other humans here who have eyeballs and will see you look ridiculous. It's hotter than blue blazes but the fans help. It's clean as far as I've seen. There are lots of different bags I have no idea how to use yet, but assume are helpful to people with any amount of skill. Hydrating beverages for purchase. Just good vibes in general - inspirational quotes on the walls, music is present but not deafening, the owner's dog behind the desk, fresh air coming the always-open door.

Yelp
Great place to learn what it means to truly "work" out. The atmosphere is tense! I expected it to just be a gym that involved boxing, but it truly is a place where you can learn the sport. A great downtown gem.

Yelp
It's my third week here and I cant believe there is only one review for this place so far.... Sitting all day in an office does not help me stay in shape... I use to play water-polo and swim for 9 years but since I moved to New York haven't had much time for all these extra curricular activities. After coming back from my two week vacation in Europe I decided to signup in a gym and start working out. I saw the online add for the Trinity boot camp workout, and immediately went over and signed up for it. We workout every day 6:00-7:00am or 7:00-8:00am and sometimes I try to stay longer.... It's a great mixture of cardio workouts: sit-ups, push-ups, running, boxing...etc The workouts are intensive and they vary each day, so we hit different groups of muscles each time. First two weeks were painful and had sore muscles almost every day. Being in the third week, muscle soreness seems to be less of a problem as I try to push myself more and more. We have a great coach, an ex Green Beret, who pushes each of us to our max ability. I did not know that there are so many ways of doing push-ups and sit-ups until I signed up here :) I feel great and energized, and I am planning of sticking with this workout for as long as I am in New York.

Yelp
I recently moved in around the corner from Trinity Boxing Club and joined the boxing club. I am officially HOOKED on this place! The trainers are incredible helpful and encouraging (not to mention female friendly.) The workout is so fun that the hour goes by very quickly! What an amazing workout. The staff is very friendly and I would highly recommend this place!!!!

Yelp
Trinity is the really the best place in the city to workout. I started a year ago not really knowing how out of shape I was. Then cut to me and my first day and me realizing I was just not in good shape at all. The trainers at the gym are just amazing. They gave me the confidence to keep coming back. Then the morning crew that works out with me keeps me motivated. I ended up losing 40lbs in 6 months with no diet(me and food have a special bond that can't be broken). I can't say enough about this gym other than I love it, and every single person that works there(It doesn't hurt that the trainers are easy on the eyes). If you are looking to actually lose some weight the correct way fast, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a great place to train then this is the place for you. Bottom line, DO IT!!

Yelp
Boxing? Me? But I'm a girl! Thought I would hate it but I was so very wrong-- I love it! Working out with a trainer or in a group setting was never my thing. I ran and ran for years and years; it was so isolating and so boring but I fooled myself into thinking I enjoyed it. I measured my physical fitness by the number of miles I could run. Wrong. Boxing is a fantastic cardio workout while working all the muscles in your body at the same time. I have not lifted a weight in over a year and I have better muscle tone than ever before. The workout is semi-structured with trainers around to encourage and motivate you yet you are doing your own thing. The other members are great too. We laugh alot, both with and at each other. I didn't know that working out and being in the best shape of your life could be so fulfilling and so much fun.

Yelp
I recently took a trial class here and had an awesome workout. The trainer Alex was a lot of fun and was able to tailor the workout to fit my ability.

Yelp
I love to work out. My goals are strength, endurance, and self-confidence. In the service of those goals I've trained everywhere in NYC from Equinox to Richie's gym in Bushwick and nothing even comes close to Trinity for me. The staff is fantastic. Everyone is nice, patient, and kind -- even though I walked in having never jumped rope. Though, if you're already a monster, the guys here are seasoned fighters who can work you too. In the past I've done lifting, running, pilates, spin, yoga, and the results I've seen in just 4 months at Trinity are better than anything I've seen with any other regimen. When I train for boxing I work harder for longer and push through more of my limits than for any other form of exercise. This comes, in part, because I love boxing (now, I didn't before I came here... I was scared to train here at first!) and the workouts are so fun and engaging that I actually get excited to come every day. I practice rope at home just so I can do better at the gym. And all the trainers at Trinity help with that. Even with someone as useless in the ring as I am, everyone at Trinity wants to see me do my best without scolding, mocking, or laughing at me for being so behind in every department, from coordination to endurance. I love Trinity and I love the trainers. Only you can decide if it's right for you, but you should head in and give it a chance. I was scared to death of going in when I started and now I go every day they're open. Oh! And if you're a lady they're super lady friendly there too. I'd say more than half the people that train at Trinity are women of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Believe me when I say this gym is for EVERYONE.

Anne M.

Yelp
Just read the review about Eric Kelly at Trinity. Anyone can see it's written as some kind of vendetta and NOT Eric Kelly's performance as a trainer. There is no one who knows more about boxing and no one who has more respect for the sport. Writing that review tells me you couldn't cut it at the gym. Boxing is too tough for you. It's hard work work. So don't take your frustration out on the trainers. Just take your self over to NYSC.

Dina B.

Yelp
I've been a member of Trinity since 2010. I've tried other boxing gyms in NYC and Trinity is by far the best boxing gym in NYC. The rates are high however, you get a great workout. Butch and Hino are the two best trainers. Both those guys work really hard and basically run that gym. All of the clients go to them because they are the best and work the hardest out of all of the trainers there. Trinity would be nothing without them. Pros - great hours and two hard working trainers. Gym is also open until 10pm. Cons - outdated cardio equipment, only one treadmill works.

Yelp
I loved this place. I worked out here from 2009 through 2012 and enjoyed every visit. The attitude was right on, about working hard and building confidence. I found the staff helpful, motivating and professional. I was not a boxing fan before joining, but am now and would recommend Trinity to anyone.

Maurice B.

Yelp
Been going there now for the past 8 weeks and really enjoying it. Always wanted to learn to box and although i don't think i will ever be a pro, it does give you a nice bit of self confidence to be able to throw a proper punch Got the intro to boxing package to start which is a good idea as it lets you see whether you like it or not , its 10 lessons and gives you a feel for if you want to do it or not. There are a lot of reasons why i like the place 1. Its the best workout i have ever gotten outside of training for Gaelic football or rugby. You couldn't work as hard in a gym without quitting 2. The staff are friendly and helpful and most important patient. John the owner is always there and is a great guy. Marcy who does the fitness is gorgeous and really sweet and would be a distraction only for she works you so hard that you can barely move when your finished. I have gotten personal training sessions and Marcy's sessions put everyones else's to shame as they are different each time and reasonably fun to day considering you are killing yourself 3. Its an actual boxing gym not a gym with a ring , there are professional l fighters there so everyone knows there stuff 4. Its girls and boys which is good as it takes some of the testosterone from it and nobody is killing themselves to be the alpha male ( Thank god as id be killing myself to not seem like a pansy !!) I like 90% of the people who work out their.. I have hated nearly every other person in the gym in my building so i wouldn't go or leave after a short while. There is a distinct lack of DOUCH in trinity There are some things i don't like 1. You can feel a little isolated when its really busy but there is more atmosphere there when it is so its a catch 22 2. I would love more rounds in the ring than just the two if its really busy fine but if its not you should be able to ask for more 3. A water fountain on the gym floor... Overall i really love this place and would recommend it to anyone (girls or boys) looking to get out of the normal gym crap or for something different

Brian Q.

Yelp
Went there my first day and got one of the best workouts and the trainer makes sure you dont slack!!!

Yelp
I came to Trinity Boxing Club with no clear goal in mind. I knew I wanted to get back in shape, but normal gyms bored me senseless. So I figured "hey, i like watching boxing, why not give it a try." Truth be told, I took my trial because i wanted a great work out, nothing more. But when i finished, i wanted to make boxing a big part of my life. I solely attribute that to the coaches at Trinity Boxing. Simeon and Sergei are awesome. They taught me the basics and gradually starting to really pushing me. Each one's teaching style couldn't be more different, which I thing is a real plus. Their unique coaching styles are giving me a 360 degree perspective on the sweet science. Each day I leave the gym I feel more skilled, more fit and more confident. It get's better. You get results quick. But it comes at a price. You have to be willing to work hard, sweat a lot and listen carefully. With that said, anyone who steps into the gym can't help but be inspired to push themselves. It's styled like an old 40's boxing gym reminiscent of Rocky or even Daredevil. It's no frills and that works for me. So, if you're willing to learn a new skill, do battle with your self doubt and improve physically, get to Trinity.
