13 Places to Eat and Drink That Are Literally Underground

"Down in the heart of the New York financial district there is a bar hidden inside an old bank vault from 1904. The basement vault at the Trinity Place bar and restaurant was originally commissioned by the New York Realty bank. Built by the Mosler Safe Company in upstate Hudson, New York, the vault was so large and heavy it had to be sailed down the Hudson river and then transported on purpose built railway tracks from Battery Park to its home at 115 Broadway. The vault was unusual in that it had two entrances at either end, with each door weighing in at 35 tons.  Restored from its dusty condition in 2006, the vault is now home to a swish bar befitting its distinguished surroundings. At each end of the bar, the original five inch steel walls have been left exposed so cocktail sipping visitors can have a sense of how secure the old vault was. At the far end of the bar is a restaurant converted from the old meeting room of the bank’s executive board complete with its original chandelier. Whilst the hidden bar is undoubtedly dignified, the building, which was built around it is even more so. 115 Broadway was designed by Francis Kimball as the US Realty building along with its sister building next door at 111, the Trinity building. New York’s original twin towers, the two matching buildings were unusual for skyscrapers of the time, in that they were designed in a strong gothic style. The two narrow and long buildings are lavishly decorated with gargoyles, buttresses, pinnacles, turrets, dragons, and eagles. Closely built next to each other, with a steel footbridge connecting the two, permission was given by the city to actually move the adjoining Thames Street 28 feet to the north, to allow the two buildings to nestle side by side. Walking into the near identical lobbies, the coats of arms, ribbed ceilings, stained glass, and monk’s heads would leave you thinking that you had wandered into a medieval English cathedral. The New York Times in 1907 called the two buildings towering over lower Broadway, “twin examples of Gothic splendor.” The 20th floor was even once home to the old Lawyers Club, a society so extravagant that it kept a private herd of 50 cows in New Jersey to provide its members with their own supply of fresh butter. But whilst the basement of 115 revels in its luxurious bank vault bar, the story next door couldn’t be more different. The basement steps of 111 lead to a Subway franchise and the former home of a bar called Suspenders. Once a local neighborhood staple run by the Fire Department, the bar served as a refuge for firemen during the 9/11 attacks. Part of the fabric of the local community for 27 years, the bar sadly closed its doors in the early summer of 2014.  But next door, the bar in the basement vault is still keeping good business and is surely one of New York’s sturdiest and most secure places in which to enjoy the cocktail of your choice." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

We were there for dinner. We ordered salad, salmon, pork chop, noodles and a bottle of wine, Cabernet Sauvignon. Everything, food and wine, is delicious and perfect. The only drawback is the service, but I’d still recommend.

This review is just a bit long overdue. March 21st, 2013, was the first and only time I visited this establishment before moving out of NYC. Today, my son and I worked on a salmon recipe a little out of the ordinary, and I was recounting to him and my wife that the last time I tried salmon this outside the box was at this restaurant. It was an unexpectedly pleasant surprise, and I always remember this salmon dish because it was like nothing I had ever tasted before, nor since. The ambiance of the restaurant was unique and cool from what I recall, and next time I’m in Manhattan, I hope to try it again. Regarding the timeliness of the review, I guess better late than never.

I’m really happy with my experience at Trinity Place! The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about gluten-free options. They even have a separate gluten-free menu with a great variety of starters and main dishes. I had the tuna tartare and the salmon — both were absolutely delicious! They come with gluten-free bread, but can also be served with regular bread on the side for those who don’t need to eat gluten-free. For the main course, I had the duck risotto, which was spectacular. They also offer gluten-free drinks like beer. Everything was incredibly tasty, and best of all, my stomach felt great afterwards!

We went with 2 friends to enjoy Happy Hour at this place that is incredible for its history and preservation, the drink and food options for Happy Hour are very limited, the woman at the bar was very rude, not friendly at all, we ordered 2 cocktails and told her that later we would have beer to accompany the mini hamburgers and nachos with guacamole, this bartender served all the drinks together and uncorked all the beers, when we asked why she had uncorked them she was very rude responding that she didn't care if we hadn't finished and that it was a rule of the place, we had to cover the mouths of the bottles with a napkin so they wouldn't lose flavor, the male waiters and the other bartender were very friendly, I congratulate you guys for your excellent service.

This is an old bank vault converted to a restaurant. The risotto was great. The duck was slightly over cooked, but still good. If you are in the financial district this is a great place to stop for a drink. The bar and drink prices were reasonable.

We dined at Trinity Place, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight was the Bank vault door that was truly UNIQUE place to dine. The ambience was perfect—elegantly designed with a warm, inviting atmosphere that made us feel immediately at ease. The food was nothing short of outstanding; each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing the chef's talent and attention to detail. Service was top-notch as well; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. I highly recommend Trinity Place for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a fantastic setting. The desserts were truly exceptional. Each treat was a masterpiece, both in flavor and presentation. These desserts were a perfect ending to an already fantastic meal, showcasing the chef’s creativity and skill.

My partner took me for Valentine’s Day. The location is beautiful but small. We got seated in a tiny nook with a couple on each side of us, and both were close enough that getting in I knocked into their table a bit. The service from the waiters was wonderful, we were greeted and they offered to take our coats and check them in. The artwork is beautiful. The food was mid. I got the waygu burger with home fries and a salad. The salad was bitter, the burger was tasteless, and the home fries were not crunchy. My partner got the beer braised lamb shank which is the second most expensive item on the menu. It was delicious. They served it with mashed potatoes carrots and sautéed brussles, I ate off his plate the whole night. My partner can’t eat pork and they took out the bacon which was very accommodating. We then opted for a New York cheese cake because I was worried at this point I wouldn’t like the other stuff they served. The cheesecake was also mid. For some reason I got what texturally felt like coconut flakes in it, which i absolutely hate. Lastly we got alcoholic beverages, they give u a menu but you can request cocktails not on the menu, I got a dark and stormy and it was also delicious.

My employer rented out the bar and restaurant for our annual holiday party, and it did not disappoint. First, the entrance is right across from Zucotti Park, which was lit most beautifully for the holidays. The entrance can be. Bit ticky to find but is about mid way down on Cedar by the park. The decor is definitely unusual, with large bank vault doors, a lot of dark woodwork, gleaming fixtures, and low lighting. We have a fixed menu that was spectacular. Unfortunately I don't know if the menu was comprised of fare that they normally serve or not but if our options were comparable to other offerings on the normal menu, then you'll definitely have a.spectacular meal waiting for you. Also, given that my employer was paying, I have no idea of the overall costs, but given the quality of the food, bar, and service, I would think that the prices would reflect that.

Yelp
I stopped in Trinity Place with a friend for post-work drinks. Originally, they were completely full and we were eyeing a spot at the bar. But then they were able to get us a table. I had a green tea cocktail, I can't remember the name of it now, but it was so good. I ended up having two of these. It does get very loud in the bar area, so do keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter spot for drinks.

Yelp
I recently visited this old haunt when I met with friends for pre-dinner drinks. An old bank vault, I've been to this hot spot numerous times especially when I worked in the area. From bar food to lunch and dinner, I've tried a lot. It's a cozy spot that can get crowded especially towards the end of the week. At least I'm assuming it still might be. I'm sure the regulars still drop by for that after work drink or two. Recommend.

Yelp
The food was fine. The drinks weren't bad, but they weren't overly creative or mind-blowing. But the staff and management was AMAZING! So how did we get here? I made a last minute reservation on OpenTable on a Thursday night. I got there and the host tells me this was a mistake; that the app allowed me to reserve a table that was not available. He calls the manager, who tells me the back room has been prepared for an event, and somehow I was mistakenly able to reserve a table in this space. They were absolutely packed, so also keep that in mind when you make the decision to come here as well . . . it's in FiDi, so a lot of business people clogging the bar area for after-work drinks. Anyway . . . the manager went out of her way to make a place for me. I ended up sitting in a back corner in the event space (it didn't start until an hour and a half after my reservation). She actually apologized over and over about my "child in solitary" dining situation, but I think it worked out great! I was away from the crowd and the noise, and service was still really attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. I had the petite filet medallions served with broccolini and gruyere potato gratin. The medallions were cooked appropriately, medium as I asked, and weren't bad. Maybe a little more seasoning? The broccolini was charred perfectly and had just the right amount of crunch. The potatoes were pretty bland though. I had the New York cheesecake with Nilla wafer crust. It was pretty good! They also have cavatelli, ricotta ravioli, duck leg confit risotto, ahi tuna, scallops, blackened salmon, a wagyu burger. They have apps like charcuterie and cheese boards, pate, salads, tartare. They have a bar menu as well. Prices are moderate for New York. I had a few cocktails. Sweater Weather (dark rum, apple, maple, walnut, ginger)--a fall selection. I had the pearfect pearl (grey goose, pear, rosemary, ginger, lime). This was probably the cleanest and most refreshing. And then the people's margarita (blanco, lime, pineapple, agave). They also didn't rush me as people started to arrive (I was still out before the event started, but they didn't even ask me to leave). The decor here is pretty cool too. It's in an old bank vault. Would definitely return when I'm downtown. Thank you so much to the awesome staff who went out of their way to not let a faulty reservation ruin my plans!

Yelp
This is a pretty relaxing place inside a Vault. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had the Barrata . It was beautifully presented . The dish had an interesting variety of ingredients. I was freezing out so Hit Toddies were perfect.

Yelp
I have been to this place on a few occasions. Both times I have enjoyed! The place has history. It is an old bank in the fidi. They have great bar if you just want to go for drinks. They also have very good food if looking for lunch or dinner. I went for a business lunch and the atmosphere was perfect. I enjoyed the food as well. Also went out for drinks a couple of times. I liked the drinks and enjoyed hanging out here. I would recommend going if in the area.

Yelp
Never disappoints! This is a go to every time I'm in New York. The ambiance is epic and the food is incredible!

Yelp
I stopped in for happy hour. The bar area was fairly busy with the after work crowd. Service was great! The HH rose' wine was surprisingly good. It's not a large HH menu so I ordered food from the bar menu. The tuna tostadas were delicious. A decent amount of tuna for the price but a small portion. The tuna was very fresh. I couldn't get enough of the chipotle mayo. Perfect compliment to the dish. For an appetizer, the flavors were perfectly balanced. I will definitely be back. Not sure how I haven't found this place before. Walked by it a million times.... The old bank vault is really cool.

Yelp
Solid new American food spot. Restaurant is in a bank vault which is pretty cool and definitely gives FiDi vibes! Not much good food in FiDi, so this place feels like a godsend. Service left a little to be desired, but we had a big party so don't imagine it's the norm. Definitely go for the duck leg!

Yelp
I had booked a reservation here for dinner with my mom and stepdad as they are visiting New York City for the first time. I wanted to take them to a place where they could get a decent steak or burger and that wasn't too awfully pricey. I had done some research and it seemed this place fit the bill and also had a unique I'll beyond being in a bank vault. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and we were seated in the bar area, it didn't look like the back dining room was open yet. Next time I would probably wait for a later reservation as trying to sit in the bar area and have a dinner was not a good idea. It was so obnoxiously loud in there with all of the after work crowd that we could not hear each other. My mother ended up super frustrated that we could not speak during our meal. The food was just OK, they said the fillet was very nice. The coq au vin really lacked flavor and my mahi was just OK. I really like seafood and I liked the variety of veggies in the broth, but it was just somewhat bland. the pricing wasn't too bad, my husband and my bill totaled about $100 before tip. I had one glass of wine and my husband had two beers. The service was really good. Food came out promptly so all of that was great.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool for the photo opportunity, but I would say they need a charge in some way. Stopped here for a pre-dinner drink while in the area. Granted, we did stop on a Wednesday, they weren't very busy at all. I had a reservation but it wasn't really needed whatsoever. It is billed as a place where you dine in a vault - but it seemed like it was just a vault door out front and the vault had walls blown out and opened way up for a regular restaurant. Had a drink and some guac and chips. Can't speak to regular food but overall good.

Yelp
I was in the area and wanted a good burger. Looked at the reviews for the Wagyu burger. I must say it was tasty but ....I'm not a burger person. I got there at 4:45 pm and the front bar area was BUSY. I was walked past the busy area into the vault to a quiet and dim lit dining room. And YES, it's really an old vault. Cool.

Yelp
I came here with my company to celebrate a work event, so my review my be influenced by the fact that the food, and ate a lot of it, was free. because anything that is free gets an automatic extra tastiness to my evaluation. All that said, I was a little disappointed by the experience. I had the duo of tartares for an appetizer and it was just fine. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but it was a glorified piece of sushi that I had to assemble myself. The duck leg confit risotto was the entree, which was delicious as well. the duck was fresh and succulent, like I went to Central Park's duck pond and took a big bite out of one of those buggers. I can't say the same for the spinach, broccolini, and home fries sides because those portions were small and they lacked flavor. For these sides, I was grateful that my company was paying for it. (That also allowed me to order a second round of those sides, just to see if my initial assessment was correct. It was.) For dessert, I ordered the truffles and the NY cheesecake. Normally, I wouldn't order 2 desserts, but eff my company, right? I'm going to retire soon anyway. The truffles were very powerful in taste, but they were serves in a little cup, so the presentation was lacking. The cheesecake was flavorful, but it is a small round piece, the kind you buy at a bakery/pastry shop, not a cake store. In retrospect, my biggest regret about all the food is that I wish the portions were bigger. That's ironic, considering that wish is usually voiced by my girlfriend or my mistress at night when we're getting frisky. Speaking of which, I don't remember which drinks I tried, but they were good. I don't think they were alcoholic enough though because none of my coworkers wanted to come to my place for a nightcap. I usually have good luck in that regard, but I didn't on this particular night, which was sad because my girlfriend is out of town.

Yelp
A cute spot that's known for it being an old bank vault. Slightly gimmicky but you can't deny that that's interesting. I was nervous that the food wouldn't be great and that the restaurant relied solely on its ambiance, but I was pleasantly proved wrong. The salmon was really delicious. It had some sort of curry sauce on it that made it taste quite unique. I'm very happy with that dish. I also had the salad, which was not nearly as impressive. They really skimp on the dressing, so it felt like I was just eating straight up lettuce with some gratings of cheese. The cheesecake was also pretty good for dessert. Nothing amazing, but still tasty! I heard the sticky toffee dessert was much better though. I'd go for that next if I am to go again. In addition, I know this place has a pretty decent happy hour. I didn't try it but maybe next time. Staff was very accomodating, too. My work team went for a dinner and they were very flexible with reserving seating for 15+ of us. It is a bit tight in the dining area though!

Yelp
What a great find in the Financial District! I actually just Googled places near WTC and came upon this historic and iconic restaurant. Set in an old vault with so much character and romance, this is a great spot for a company affair or just catching up for drinks. The food is really good with good portions. I had the traditional burger which was juicy and just right. The waitress was very accommodating and kept refilling our drinks. Definitely recommend this spot for a quiet place to get a good dinner.

Yelp
The restaurant has 2 beautiful bank vaults on display. They are magnificent. The service was very good. But the food was very average. I had the salmon. The pepper sauce was too sweet but the blackened salmon was good.
google avatar

Jenny Y.

Yelp
What a cool place! It's located in an old bank vault and thats how you enter into the restaurant. The first section is more of a bar area and the back section is where the tables are for dining. I got the scallops which I wasn't too impressed with but I give it 4 stars for the ambience & the wonderful waitstaff.
google avatar

Athena L.

Yelp
This is a pretty famous spot due to its history (as you'll see in the other reviews) - there are definitely some excellent photo ops at the entrance with the vault door. Enter on Cedar St, not Broadway, through an unassuming door. Prior to a few nights ago when I dined here with a group from work, I had only been here for happy hour / bar seating. After dinner, I still prefer coming here for HH or just to the bar, as there is pretty good HH pricing on drinks for the area ($7 rose! $10 cocktails! $20 beer bucket!), pretty good food (even beyond HH), and a lot of people dressed up in suit and tie coming right from finance bro-central and ready to socialize - if that's the kind of crowd you're looking to interact with. That said, dinner is also a nice experience: dimly-lit, especially in the back; no-nonsense service; and a good mix of tasteful and tasty (but not memorable) food options. Entrees are in $24-36 range and cocktails are $16 - so on the higher side, but not overly pretentious. This is perfect for business lunches and dinners as well as for "dinner date that will be classy and not too risky" vibes. Enjoy this NYC standard!

Amanda R.

Yelp
I came here randomly for lunch, I really wanted some clam chowder. I believe you many need reservations for dinner. The restaurant itself is BEAUTIFUL. Being inside of the old vault was really cool, this is a good place for a romantic dinner. The service was great, no complaints. The menu is relatively small, one page for appetizers and one for entrees. The clam chowder was good but was overfilled with potatoes. I wish it had more "broth" and clams but, it did the job. The portion itself was also pretty small but, the soup (the only one offered) is an appetizer. Overall, I will come back to try more things.

Yelp
I decided to try this place on my first ever trip to NYC. It was very good. They are housed inside of an old bank building and they keep a lot of the feel from that. They have an old bank vault when you walk in that lights up different colors. For my meal I had the cheeseburger. I didn't see anything else I really liked on the menu so I decided to play it safe. The burger was good and I'm glad I got it well done. My colleague had the burger but she has it medium well and it ended up being undercooked. I had a Hot Toddy to go with my meal.

Yelp
Great food. Great atmosphere. Casually upscale. You could easily go dressed up a bit or just business casual. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Caesar salad was large enough to split and share with two. I was looking for something heavier after a day of travel and the pork shank did the trick!

Yelp
It is a lot of fun to eat inside old bank vault. You can think of what was happening there before... really an admirable setting. Met friend for lunch there. We started with tartar duo, salmon and tuna tartar, which was very tasty. We also god burrata which was good but maybe a bit on a dry side. My friend's main dish was clam chowder which she said was tasty. I got Cuban sandwich, and was a bit surprised with what I received. The sandwich was made with a a very crusty baguette and pulled pork, something really untraditional as much as I know. It would be okay, but pulled pork was over-salted to almost the pain point. It was edible, but not enjoyable. We also got dessert, and bread toffee pudding was a riot - amazingly fluffy and tasty. Crème Brûlée was okay - nothing special. Good attentive service. Fun ambiance. Recommended.

Yelp
Cool location. The service we had was great too. I need to go back and try other items on the menu. I recall not being happy with what I ordered, but it was nothing to keep me from going back.

Yelp
I like dining inside bank vaults. They're pretty and brassy and make me feel like I live in a Broadway production. But they're also kind of gimmicky, so I was expecting Trinity Place to be a hollow experience of superficial beauty. Not so. The food was surprisingly ample and well made. The onion tart appetizer was an enormous slice. My Fettucine could've fed two. The NYC Cheesecake was fit for four. In fact, all of us were stuffed but satisfied by the end of our meals, and several of us took home leftovers. Also, for the non-drinkers, they have a nice selection of four mocktails that are quite tasty. Try the Charlie Cherub for something bright, or the Sober Spritz for bubbly. Service was quick and friendly, and we were seated in the innermost dining room right across from one of the vault doors. The decor is old school NYC gorgeousness that can only be found in FiDi restaurants. The drawback of that, though, is there's little soundproofing--so if you're stuck across a raucous party of 20-something FiBros and FiBabes racking up dinero on their expense cards, be prepared to shout to be heard by the rest of your group.

Yelp
The restaurant has very nice staffs and the ambiance is great, it's like being transported back to the old time- the large vault door and the tin ceiling are all very charming to me. I came here for a business lunch but I can also see this is a good spot for a romantic date night. I only tried one dish ( duck leg risotto) unfortunately it is just too salty to my liking, I had to drink tons of water and didn't finish my food. My manager had wagyu burger and she said it's good.

Yelp
Can I retract my former review? Ten months back I said great place. Today a disappointment. The water glasses had lip prints on them. And they actually used canned tomatoes in a Cobb salad??? bacon not even chopped. A sign of lack of attention unfortunately

Yelp
First and foremost - do not look for this restaurant at 115 Broadway. It is in that huge building, but on Cedar Street close to Trinity Place. We logged a few steps finding it. The service was great, the music a little too loud, and the food OK. My friend and I both had salads with chicken breast added. The chicken was dry, and needed a steak knife to cut. Had I seen the tandoori chicken skewers before ordering, I would have had that instead. The Caesar and beet salads were fresh & tasty.

Yelp
Great food and wine. Service was proper with room for improvement. Loved the moody lighting and historical aspect of this location. Great place for a date and even though we had our kids with us they did ok as well.

Yelp
Be sure to make reservations. They are only available for dining during the week. The weekends are only for private events. I have to say it was a very nice experience dining there. I loved the doors of the bank vault. The chandelier is beautiful too! Their menu is small however their food was good. I thought the prices were reasonable too for the city. Appetizers: Cheese & Charcuterie Board Walnuts, grapes, fruit and nut bread, house chutney and pickles, grilled country bread. Roasted Onion Tart: It was different but good. Caramelized sweet onions, gruyere, crème fraîche, oven dried tomatoes. Entrees: Pan Roasted Double Cut Pork Chop : Absolutely Delicious! -It came with: Braised Lentils, Bacon Lardons, Parsnip Puree, Wilted Spinach, Barolo Jus Pan Seared Organic Salmon: I really enjoyed this dish! -It came with: Olive Oil Crushed Fingerlings, Fava Beans, Asparagus, Fennel, Cherry Tomatoes, Little Neck Clam-Saffron Broth Drinks: Sunset on Seaport Bandero Silver Tequila, Blood Orange, Coconut, Lime, chili Sunrise On The Bridge Gunpowder Irish Gin, Lemon, Honey, Strawberry

Yelp
The best pace is at the bar. But get a table all you visitors Leave the professionals to the bar area. Wink wink.

Yelp
The ambiance makes this place for me. Lots of write ups on the appeal of eating in a bank vault and I'm in that group - Tony Stark's Arc reactor in the dining room (the light the vault door like one anyway) made for nice eye and imagination candy. I thought the food (the onion tart was like a French onion soup without the soup) and service itself (food came out quickly, but my menu had two of the same page and when i pointed this out, it went away to be fixed and never came back ... I didn't need one anyway as i just looked at what the other tables were ordering lol) were average. Worth a check out.

Yelp
Staff was A+ all around from the host who greeted us once we walked into to the waitstaff and runners. Attentive, friendly and accommodating. Food was fantastic with many options on their menu. Sheppards pie was a delicious dinner with soft velvety mash on top. Also pretty neat to have dinner inside a bank vault.

Yelp
Love this bar. Great to sit and people watch. Food is very nice. Even got a free dessert. Result!

Yelp
Delicious! They have a separate gluten free menu with a lot of appetizers and main courses, extending from pasta, meat, and seafood. I had cheese and meat charcuterie with gluten free bun to start, followed by the duck leg and risotto, ending with chocolate truffles. We sat in the restaurant, which was quieter relative to the bar. The service was good -- they did not rush us along at all. It was a great experience to eat inside a historical bank vault.

Yelp
Interesting ambiance in a bank vault. Food was pretty good. Only bad I can saw was the tuna tare. It wasn't as fresh. But besides that it was okay. The server was great. Would recommend here to try.

Yelp
Trinity Place has all the right vibes. The decor is top notch and adds to the amazing ambiance. It's trendy without being too loud/obnoxious, and a great place to have lunch and actually hear the conversation. The drinks are great (the mock tails not so much), and food was up to caliber as well. Really enjoyed their house turkey burger- very fresh and tasted of high quality ingredients. Other dishes in my party included the fettuccine and duck confit- both also apparently delicious. For dessert, definitely try the bread pudding with a side order of a cappuccino - moist with great flavor. I'd personally skip their cheesecake (off texture) and creme brûlée (too eggy in taste).

Yelp
This is probably fine as a bar to come to for happy hour after work but as a restaurant, it's mediocre at best. I came on a Monday night and waited 20 min for someone to take my drink order. The table next to me gave up waiting at 15 min. I ordered the Lady Lavender and it was fine but couldn't taste the lavender at all so nothing special. I ordered the Trinity Waygu burger and waited another 20 minutes for that. My burger was dry and unseasoned, the salad wilted, and the potatoes soggy. The "former bank vault" décor is about all that distinguishes this place, unfortunately. I really had been looking forward to my meal but I definitely won't be back.

Yelp
We were in New York and wanted to grab dinner somewhere near our hotel. The ambiance here was really nice and service was good. However, the food was subpar, especially the filet. The filet tasted like ground beef and had no flavor. The other dishes were ok but nothing outstanding. The only dish we really enjoyed was the duck confit risotto. It was a nice place to have some drinks but wouldn't recommend as a food destination.

Yelp
This place is pricy, especially for lunch but welcome to Wall Street! The ravioli is so good but the portion size is very small. The drinks are over priced as well, I usually spend over $40 for just myself here.

Yelp
Vibe is cute tho some areas are bare. Staff is nice tho a bit inattentive. If the food is tasty, the portion is tiny. Bigger portions didn't have flavor. It's not worth it to have food here unless you get a very discounted slider or pig in a blanket deal. Not good for vegetarians. Beer is flat. I wouldn't come back. My review was 2 stars but just upgraded to 3. They were accommodating and took my flat beers off the bill.

Yelp
Negative star review. My friend ordered the petite filet with broccolini & potatoes au gratin. It was very good. It was served hot & had lots of flavor. Unfortunately, the wine we ordered was spoiled. It smelled bad & tasted worse. The waiter was unapologetic. He did replace the glass of wine but did not provide restitution of any kind. Very disappointing. On top of all that, the hostess was rude, grumpy, & with no personality. She did not smile once & we had to specifically ask for a bar & drink menu.

Yelp
Very casual chic atmosphere. Solid menu with salsa, burgers, soups and such. Friendly staff greeted us and sat us right away. OpenTable reservations made it very easy to secure a table last minute. What else can you ask for in a place for lunch in the city?

Yelp
Was a bit surprised by how much I enjoyed the food here! Thought this was going to be a tourist trap but came here for dinner on a Saturday and had a really delicious meal. Located near Brookfield, this place is quite huge!! When u enter through the vault door, there's a large bar with tables for casual bar food eating. There's a second vault room for more formal eating but you can order bar food there too which was great! Pretzel: came out piping hot! Had a mustard sauce and a cheese sauce. Very yummy! A good quality pretzel Duck confit: delicious! The duck was tender and fall off the bone. It came with risotto that was perfectly cooked, had a good soft chew to it, intensely flavorful in the best way with plenty of soft squash. Large portion too. Trinity WAGYU Burger: you get a selection of cheese, we got blue. The meat was thick and tender. The brioche bun was great! Usually I am not a fan because that kind of bun can overpower the beef but this burger was well balanced. It came with plenty of deep fried potatoes which was nice and crisp and a lightly dressed mixed green salad. Overall it was a great meal! I wasn't a crazy fan of the ambiance hence 4 stars but still great!

Yelp
For a high-end restaurant, I just wasn't impressed. The menu options were pretty bland. Nothing really popped out and it didn't seem like they had a signature dish. Because of this, I didn't even order an entrée, I just stuck to appetizers. I tried the duo tartare which was pretty good and was disappointed to hear that they do not have any goat cheese to select from their cheese platter option. The interior design is pretty nice and I think that's why most people come. I went during happy hour and there was a lot of businessman at the bar which I could understand because the drink selection was a lot better than the food selection. The only reason I can understand people coming here is for the alcohol and to take pictures. Other than that, for the price, you can get a lot better.

Yelp
There is no safer place to have a work lunch in FiDi. There is always space, everything is very proper and classic to a tee. There is absolutely nothing offensive about this restaurant except that it is hard to find the door, because this used to be a bank vault. There's a puppy daycare around the corner. I also once admittedly came here for a Thursday late night date because no other bar in FiDi close to the PATH is open in the late evening, and Dead Rabbit is overdone. There were still a few patrons floating around. You are here for a work lunch, not a weeknight date.

Yelp
Really like this place! Katherine behind the bar makes all her guests feel at home, which is great, but the food is also top-notch without being pretentious. We'll, maybe the Wagyu Burgers and Pigs in a Blanket are a BIT pretentious but all in all, good food, well prepared and not overpriced like so much in Lower Manhattan. No happy hour specials at the moment as they just recently reopened, but the regular prices are so decent, it's not an issue. Just ask anyone as you try to find an open seat at the bar. Check it out. I can pretty much guarantee you'll love it, as I do!

Yelp
Came here on a busy Wednesday after work and the place was packed. We didn't have a reservation so we just hang out at the bar, which was a bit noisy. The back part is the restaurant. The inside is like the vault of a bank, which is pretty cool. I had the lobster BLT sliders and they were delicious. I definitely want to come back and try the full restaurant in the vault.

Yelp
Good service and ambiance - didn't try much of the food besides the sliders from the happy hour menu. They were good, but it's hard to mess up sliders. My tablemates felt "meh" about their food, so my review is based on everything but the food. The place gets four stars for its cool factor, after all, when do you get to dine in a bank vault?!? The first room with the bar gets super loud especially during happy hour. If you want a quieter experience, ask for a table in the dining room in the back. Cool spot for happy hour or a work dinner.

Yelp
One of my favorite bar/restaurants in FIDI! My friends and I usually call this place the vault bar, but it's really called Trinity Place. It's near my old high school and now near work. The last time I was here was for my HS reunion. Food and drinks were great back then and they are still good! I recently went back last Friday for HH and the atmosphere was cozy and festive! I love their decor, but the old bank's vault doors really make the place unique. This time, I just came for drinks and they had Friday drink specials (sangria champagne). There are drink specials every night. Bartenders were quick, friendly, and have great memory. This place does not have to change a thing because what they're doing is working very well. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
My favorite pub/restaurant in the neighborhood. The dining room in back is great for a quiet dinner. The front bar is lots of fun with perfectly pulled pints and the most delicious, sticky toffee pudding. There are many really wonderful dishes prepared by people who really know what they're doing in the kitchen.
