15 Best Breweries in Charlotte

"Triple C Brewing was founded in 2012 by Chris Harker, alongside his friends (and fellow "C" names) Chris and Christina Murphy. The Murphys have moved onto other adventures, but the brewery is still going strong, with a focus on craft, community, and the environment through programs like Catawba River clean-up, strict recycling procedures, and grain-waste reuse. Triple C has developed several beers that have become well known around Charlotte, including the Golden Boy Blonde Ale, the adorably named Baby Maker IPA, and 3C IPA and Zest-a-Peel, which both won bronze medal medals at the Great American Beer Festival." - Lauren Levine

Enjoyable brewery! Solid beer, friendly staff, and nice mojo. Good amount of private lot and street parking. I’d visit again when in the area.

Hey, Good (People of) Charlotte, you got a great thing here with Triple C, and if you've slept on it, rectify that. There's a not-subtle stoner vibe present, what with the Grateful Dead(ish) logo. Breweries and stoner vibes go well together. See: Ocelot Brewing near Dulles and Widowmaker Brewing up in Braintree, MA. Service is quick and friendly. Beers tried included one of the better Japanese rice lagers out there, Kei Truck, and their Golden Boy blonde ale. The on-site food truck, Izzy's, is absolutely on point.

I was in town to see a really good friend of mine, that I haven't seen in 25 years. We went during the festival of some sort. There was a band playing some fantastic music with some awesome psychedelic slideshows going on behind it. The best friend had a beer which was amazing (i tried it) but the people were even more amazing. Everyone was super nice. There is a variety of vendor sit up selling everything from t-shirts to crystals to art. To hot dogs.... If you're ever in Charlotte by highly recommend if you like a good beer.

Triple C Brewing Company might be one of my favorite breweries in Charlotte, North Carolina. I know that’s a big statement but there’s so many amazing things about it. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the beers. They’re always willing to let you try stuff. I love the space. It’s not super bi and it’s dog friendly. The beers are amazing. They have some of my favorite sours and their ginger seltzer is one of the best things I’ve drank here in Charlotte so far. Of course the biggest part is their resident food truck Izzy’s. Everything I’ve eaten there has been incredible. I absolutely love their vinegar fries, the beer, cheese, the chicken thigh, nachos and the wings. Everything is always so fresh and delicious and they are super friendly. Can’t wait to go back!!

Run club on Thursday night at 6:30pm. Flat route. 2,3,4, and 5 mile option. 10 runs get a free T-shirt. Great atmosphere, good beer, excellent food.

Google
Great little brewery. Friendly staff, great vibe.

Google
Attended a food and wine festival hosted in their barrel room across the street and in their parking lot. Beautiful brewery with plenty of seats and shade. Parking can be a challenge though because their lot is small and parking on surrounding streets can be nonexistent depending on time of day. But nothing an Uber ride can’t fix. While I was there was able to meet recording artist Anthony Hamilton…day was beautiful and the event turned out wonderful.

Google
One of the best breweries in town! They are dog friendly inside and out. They also have king of pops popsicles and king of pups dog ice cream. Their food truck on site, Izzy's, is also wonderful. They had dog patties, and you have to try their chicken thigh sandwich and their crispy brussel sprouts.

Yelp
Unique! Beer and HARD SODA! Outside patio was nice . Check it out. They have flights of beer to try all the flavors.

Yelp
Couldn't be happier that I decided to stop on in here as this brewery was a super fun time! Of the brews I went with a Tap Tap and let me say it was a perfect West Coast IPA as it had that perfect hop profile that I dig and love as I'm very familiar with this style IPA as I'm from California so it just took me back home for a bit making for a super yummy brew from start to finish! This brewery was chill as right as we walked in we were greeted and asked what we liked me never have been here before I just grabbed my go to an IPA so that right there just made me smile! Overall we only stopped in for a drink but I really enjoyed the whole vibe here if I lived in the area I'd totally come back to visit again and again but who knows when I'll make it back to Charlotte but let's just say that if I do it will definitely involve a Triple C visit!

Yelp
Enjoyed a quick beer while visiting Charlotte. Outdoor space is super cute, but is best for those with kids. The inside has a more adult vibe, and is dog friendly. Great selection of beer. Was pleased to have two sours to choose from. Had the seasonal, Cranberry Orange Crumble Sherbet. Light, fruity and extremely crushable. They also have a food truck full-time onsite, which I always appreciate with a brewery. Def recommend checking this place out if you're ever in the area.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday recently for their Santa meet and greet for a friend's child. It was a great set up and there was a lot to do inside the holiday space! We sat outside on the picnic tables and drank and ate food from the food truck parked in the space. There are QR codes on the tables to place a pick up order for the food truck to not have to get up and wait in line. The food is pretty tasty and plenty of options! The French fries are a solid choice and always a go to even if you don't want a full sandwich, pizza, or chicken fingers.

Yelp
I feel bad that I've let nearly ten years pass (and 17,000 reviews!) before returning to Triple C. Ten years is quite a while and it's time to update. Arriving at around 4:30, I studied the beer menu and landed on the Bier, a German-style Pilsner. Poured into the proper glassware, this beer was excellent. Crisp, light and clean. Perfect Pilsner. I sat for a bit, wifi'ed for a bit, got some food from the food truck and generally had a pleasant evening. Izzy's is dedicated for Triple C and has a menu including pizza, chicken sandwiches, a beef burger, grilled veggie pita, chicken wings, nachos and fries. I got the fries with the beer cheese sauce. I left as the trivia was getting started. I know people love trivia. I do not and so that was my cue to depart. This is a great brewery and I promise, it won't be ten years until I'm back! Yelp
We liked Triple C! We stopped by for the first time recently and decided to try a couple of flights. I love ordering flights when visiting a brewery for the first time because you are able to sample several beers without committing to an entire pint. The bartender was nice and helpful with finding some beer that we might like. I enjoyed the Sweet Cream and Neon Limes the best. Neon Limes is a really refreshing summer time beer, nice and light. There is a large case of refrigerated canned beer. Great spot to grab and go. The parking situation is terrible. The interior is typical brewery atmosphere and they are very dog friendly here! I like the location and we'll be back to try some more flavors soon.

Yelp
One of the older/originals of the Charlotte brewery scene - it's a staple and always consistently good! We love how this spot has grown and evolved - but the beer remains the same. I love cranes in the sky, 3C ipa and rainbow sherbet. They have popcorn and bar snacks, but also have a delicious food truck (Izzy's) on site. Great indoor and outdoor seating, there's something for everyone. You really can't go wrong here!
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot! Met up with people and had a blast! However, the food truck was slammed since there was an event going on. I was told I had to order my food on the app; I went ahead and placed my order waited 30minutes and still no text saying my food is ready. I walked up the truck and asked if they called my name, they sure did and that I should of gotten a text; I did verify and my number was correct; Drove home and when ai got home my order was incorrect; I was disappointed you can see the pictures for yourself. I just felt they were busy and in a hurry.

Yelp
Good brews - the Carolina Blue Sky Sherbet is my fave. It's a sour but not *too* sour. They also sell it canned in the refrigerator if being around so many dogs and people with children is too much for you to handle. And it can be, I get it. It's the perfect spot for a laid back hang sesh with friends. I might've been one of 3-4 people of color, but that's no big deal when you're used to that at South End breweries lol. Izzy's food truck is on site. Everyone was raving about the wings but I'm not completely sold. Def get the chicken thigh nachos though.

Yelp
You can find Triple C Brewing at 2900 Griffith St Charlotte, NC 28203 - this is in the Southside where you'll find a handful of newish breweries - reminds me of the Beltline breweries in Atlanta with many within easy walking distance. We ended up parking on the street but there were several pay lots. I'm not quite sure how long this brewery has been here but it appear to have an established following - the interior is chic industrial with a mix of modern fixtures and reclaimed wood in the taphouse. A glass wall allows viewing of the brewhouse with bright stainless steel tanks. It's mostly tall tables with the bar more for ordering than seating. There are also several tables outside on the lawn and patio with umbrellas so it felt very open and welcoming. Tried a handful of beers - this was our first stop after a beer festival - we probably should have looked for food but this looked promising so here we are - I'm glad we dropped in. For beer I had the following: Just a Lil' Thicc Stout 6.1% - 3.7/5 Fairly easy drinking stout with notes of citrus and smoky chocolate, finishing well balanced hoppy and a touch floral. Toasted Imperial BA Stout 9.4% - 4.2/5 Was hoping for more barrel on this, you get a hint of oak otherwise this is a sweet smores stout with chocolate, coconut and vanilla, finishing creamy and a bit sticky marshmallow. Neon Limes Lager 5.7% - 3.5/5 - Crisp lager with fairly neutral malt body with a bit of tartness and lime on the nose. Very refreshing. Rainbow Sherbet Berliner Weisse 4.2% - 4/5 Quite a tasty fruited sour on the verge of being thick bodied, otherwise bright with notes of tart raspberry and lime, slightly creamy body finishing with sweet pineapple and vanilla - almost registers like pineapple upside down cake. In all the experience was quite good with knowledgeable taproom staff willing to answer questions and little wait. The beer menu only had a few items to entice me as I generally gravitate towards sours, stouts and Belgian brews, but I liked everything I tried.

Yelp
Nice little place. Friendly staff. Good beer. Would definitely go back! Many many bars walking distance on the same street.

Yelp
Very easy to find, parking in the lot and on the street, dog friendly inside and outside. Nice spacious area to sit. Inside is a bit small, but still space to sit down. Service is friendly, menu is diverse, and the Baby Maker IPA is amazing! Very chill, laid back atmosphere.

Yelp
Such a great experience! I have no idea it why it was my first time here. Stopped in on a weekday and got to chat with the owner. Great brews, great service AND dog friendly! Dogs are allowed inside which was a huge plus in my book. They have a few patio tables outside for when the weather is nice. Location was prime! We started at Suffolk Punch then walked across the street (the beers we're better in my opinion). I know it's only August but they already had their "Oktoberfest"- which was great by the way! Nicely spiced lager- easy to drink. We also had the spicy margarita gose- easily my favorite!!! Something different and not too over powering. Definitely come back for it! Also had the "Citrus Acid Test"- citrus sour IPA...very yummy as well! I loved that all 3 brews we had tasted like they were made with a lot of thought and love behind them. A little something for everyone, they also had a seltzer on tap. Try their canned dog treats or king of pups ice cream (they even have dog toys for purchase!). Very refreshing beverages on a hot day which is exactly what we were looking for. A great place to take out of towners looking for some impressive local beer! Will be back asap.

Yelp
Loved this place! I was right down the road and I really want to find a brewery while I was in town. The staff was super friendly and the location was even begged! I got the blonde which was very light and good! I would definitely come back
google avatar

Yelp
Charlotte international airport has a home brew beer House, only a few options of beer, but they were very tasty from the IPA to the ale to the seasonal stout, and the bartender took care of everybody quickly, great place to stop in between flights and enjoy an ice cold microbrew
google avatar

Kait S.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and their beer! The food truck is great as well. The fries and beer cheese are a can't miss. We've had garlic knots before that are good. 2nd time ordering pepperoni pizza and both have been very greasy but easy to blot off with a napkin. Unsure if all the pizzas are greasy or if its just from the pepperoni. Pizza is always perfectly cooked, nice and thin. Paired with any Triple C beer and ya have yourself a great night!

Justine M.

Yelp
The pizza place there is amazing! Great atmosphere and perfect for the summer! I don't drink but my friends loved their beers. This was my go to place this past summer. Made great memories !

Wil B.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem of Charlotte beer and casual dining! Beer seasonal releases are amazing. Izzy's pizza is awesome!
google avatar

Kecia M.

Yelp
Another great brewery in Charlotte. Delicious stout for me and ipa for him. And great pizza too

Michael B.

Yelp
I run a small beer store in Charlotte so I don't often venture far from my rock, but when roam around the local brewries from time to time, Triple C is almost always my first stop. I love the beers and the laid back environment combined with an amazing permanent food truck are always on point. Just the nicest people.

Yelp
Saturday 1/11/20 Triple C Brewing Company is a cool spot. Great beer selection and plenty of room. Thanks for hosting the Strip it to Give 5k! Team behind the bar is knowledgeable and super friendly. The beer selection was great!
google avatar

Hans B.

Yelp
This was an awesome surprise ! A small but vibrant brewery! Lots of different beers and even wine and cider for the non-beer person .. Ashely the bartender had great suggestions and was even gratious enough to take our picture! There are free tiny pretzels and mustard. Indoor and outdoor seating! A food truck was also available and some small shuffle board Definitely worth a second trip!
google avatar

Raquel S.

Yelp
Triple C has something for everyone! It's located across the street from The Suffolk Punch, a short walk from the New Bern light rail stop. There is also street parking available. It's a smaller sized brewery with both indoor and outdoor seating and is kid friendly. They have lots of board games and even shuffleboard. And I loved the free mini pretzels and mustard. I saw lots of people eating food from food trucks, but I'm not sure where the food trucks were parked.

Mary C.

Yelp
Visiting my son and watching the dog, was excited to try Izzy's it did not disappoint!!!! Delicious combination and perfectly cooked. Thank you Triple C for your partnership with Izzy's
google avatar

Jackie L.

Yelp
This brewery is great, not super busy. Loved the live music and outdoor patio. The sours weren't bad (not the best in town) but a good selection nonetheless! Glad I could finally check this place off the list.
google avatar

Charlene H.

Yelp
I was in town to visit and this was a great relaxing. I'm not a major beer/cider drinker, so I appreciate that staff helping me out and explaining my options. I went with the flight so that I could try multiple options. The cups for the flights were bigger than I thought. You get you monies worth. If I'm ever back in Charlotte, I would go back.
google avatar

Roman P.

Yelp
Pet friendly brewery with very good beer. Welcoming community or people and employees that create a fun environment. Indoor and outdoor seating. Turf and umbrellas outdoor with food truck options. Great place to hang out and have a beer and listen to live music when available.
google avatar

Shannon P.

Yelp
Loved the side patio on a Thursday night! They had live music, tents and vendors for the run club, a food truck, pretty hanging lights, and lots of doggies. The seltzer was good also and a large pour!
google avatar

Dhara P.

Yelp
Great brewery located in North Carolina. Beers were very good. Plenty area to seat inside or outside. Various beers are offered sour, hoppy, and stouts. Love it! One recommendation to place..we saw too many small bugs inside the facility.. probably table and floors needs constantly cleaned. Otherwise, we had so many bugs fly in our drinks.
google avatar

Mindy P.

Yelp
Maybe it was an off day but the staff were not friendly on our visit there and the beer was mediocre.
google avatar

Christin N.

Yelp
Their Quarantine Set Up was PERFECT! Very easy to just pull up grab what you want and go. They are doing a case of beer for $60, and all good choices too! Not to mention all the beer was nice and cold and ready to be popped open! They were extremely helpful and friendly, only thing I would recommend is at least wearing gloves since you are touching all forms of payments. We will definitely be back because we are almost out already, lol.
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
The drinks were good. Worst food ever. The food wasn't good which is probably why no one there seemed to be eating. It was a food truck, no restaurant service. They burned our garlic rolls which didn't even have garlic on them. The brussel sprouts were $9, were burned and just grossly swimming in oil. I have never seen so much oil on brussel sprouts. Ordered Cheese fries. The cheese was hard and not melted and in a separate plastic container. The beer was good but the food was really, really bad. I rarely write bad reviews too.
google avatar

Jake A.

Yelp
My favorite spot in Charlotte for good beer and good people. Give this place a shot if you are in the area. Limoncello and School's Out Ftw. Wings are awesome. So happy for football season!
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
This is a big brewery. The class wall separates you from the tanks of Beer Lucky for the he because the beer is very good. I love Bourbon barrels. And the not only have it in a stout, the have a rum barrel stout. It is so good. A little lighter than the bourbon with very different flavor. That Four Stars just for the Rum barrel. Food is from a food truck, a very good food truck. It's called the bleuBarn bistro. Love the potato salad.
google avatar

Renae L.

Yelp
We walked from another brewery over to Triple C on a Saturday afternoon. Love this area, lots of spots to stop and try different brews. They have a nice outdoor patio and a band was playing while we were there.
google avatar

Marina N.

Yelp
The White Blaze Winter Ale was soooo good!!! It was light, but had the right amount of subtle spices to be considered a winter ale. The environment of this place was super cozy and cute. It was decorated for Christmas time and there were lights everywhere! The place was very dog-friendly and even had dogs inside. It's a nice place to get a beer and chat with friends! They also have board/card games to play as well, which we took advantage of. I would definitely come back to try other beers!
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
Love coming to triple c! The signs on the tables to show when it has been sanitized/needs to be sanitized are really helpful and great beer selection. They recently opened a permanent food truck on site and it's so delicious! Finally tried it last night - so glad we did! Excited to have some great food to enjoy while having beers!
google avatar

Kenny R.

Yelp
I've been here a few times before, not quite sure how it slipped my mind to write a review. A great brewery with normally a very chill crowd. Some light music and food trucks to go with it. I know I'm not supposed to write reviews about a specific event, but last weekend they had an awesome 2 day concert for Christmas. The first night was Grateful Dead covers and the 2nd night was bluegrass. There were all kinds of vendors selling their wares and just an all around great time. I'll be back, for sure, especially if they ever have anything like that again.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in the city for one simple reason. They have in my opinion the best beer and offer a wide variety so there is sure to be something to everyone's taste. The taproom is small but this gives it a neighborhood vibe and can be a welcome break from the massive industrial warehouses opening up as breweries lately. The owner and bartenders are always friendly and more than willing to help with suggestions about their offerings. They are one of the OGs in the Charlotte brewery scene and I hope to see them stick around for years to come.
google avatar

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
We came here for a happy hour and it was a pretty good place to hang out. Pros: they have a pretty big patio space that's partially shaded in the afternoon, the music isn't crazy loud so you don't have to yell to hear each other, there are a decent number of people there but it's not packed like some of the other breweries. Other than beer, they also have cider and Rose. I was hoping they would have kombucha too, but I struck out on that. They have free pretzels and mustard to snack on and a food truck. All in all, it's a good place to relax, hang out, and grab a drink.
google avatar

Lori L.

Yelp
Had a great time here. Nice atmosphere and nice beer. When we went they had a food truck outside as well as someone selling doughnuts inside that looked delicious! Service was really good and we got a flight of beer. They were all great! We didn't have a hard time finding a place to sit. They place is pretty large and dog friendly so that's always a plus! Can't wait to come back!

Charles R.

Yelp
Outstanding pizza, small bites, and specials. The beer is always great and poured with a smile! Cool place to chill and enjoy some music .
google avatar

Heather K.

Yelp
Looking for delicious beer, laid back setting, food truck food, and good music? Triple C is your place! We have been coming here for years as it is one of our favorite breweries in Charlotte. They always have a food truck on site and live music (check their social media). Comfortable seating inside with some TVs as well as a bunch of picnic tables outside. 3C IPA is my ABSOLUTE favorite in CLT. Last but not least they always have complementary pretzels and spicy mustard. I know this sounds simple but it always hits the spot while enjoying the great beer! If you haven't been Triple C is a must visit!
google avatar

Meleah S.

Yelp
Great beer spot with live music. Food truck outside to offer extra options on eating.
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
Great beer and atmosphere! Had the Pilsner and was thoroughly impressed. Great inside and outside seating and areas. Definitely recommend running to check out this brewery!
google avatar

Dara C.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite breweries in Charlotte. They make some great craft beers and their food is delicious! Would 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
This brewery has always had good beer, great service and comfortable/safe environment. They donate to local organizations and support the community. Keep up the good work y'all!
google avatar

Graham K.

Yelp
Located in a pretty green area, surrounded by higher end apartments, Triple C is a wide open air brewery. They have bumper pool in one end of the tap room, TVs showing whichever game is playing at the moment. There is plenty of outdoor seating, both kid and dog friendly. We stopped by on a late Sunday morning and there was a food truck outside and live music playing. The blue grass was loud enough to be heard from outside, but not so loud that it felt obtrusive or that you couldn't have a conversation. A variety of beers were available, everything from wits to IPAs to porters and everything in between. Charlotte is known for being a great beer city and this is one of many worthwhile stops.
