Yelp
Been driving by for 30 years and finally had a chance to try it. Open since 1958, Trocadero is a well maintained older establishment. At 9PM on a Friday the place was packed and busy. The website said it closes at 10PM but karaoke was happening and it looked like the kitchen was still working when I left at 10:20 It's kind- of that old place that all the locals like but they don't go often, and when they do go, they say , "Why don't we come here more often"? I ordered a delmonico steak , a 1/2 inch center cut rib for about USD 27, ordered medium came closer to USA medium rare (I fine that works out better in northern Mexico, if you want US med, order 3/4 - tres cuartos) , Steak was fabulous . Came with a salad of iceberg lettuce, tomato and some red cabbage undressed with a squeeze bottle of dressing brought to the table and fresh cut fries, which were not all that good, plus 1 big think 'sobaquera' flour tortilla, which is a bucket list must try in Sonora.
I probably should have knocked it down to 3 stars for the service, but it was so busy and there are so few review I'll let it slide. I think US waiters are more frequent in checking in and the old school Mexican system is to call over the waiter when you want something. The prices on the menu are MX pesos, divide by 19 to get US dollars at the date of the visit. Location and parking, from the southbound lane of the main drag through Nogales heading southbound, pay close attention after the Burger King & KFC and really close attention passing the old bus station. Turn in to the dirt parking lot. IF you miss it it's quite a ways to U turn, then go north to the next U turn, then reapproach on the southbound lane. No access from Northbound lane. As of this writing, the address is correct but the Yelp location dot is wrong. I submitted correction on the app (it's not in the mall) and will delete this part when it's corrected. Oh - and great for larger groups.
