Pros|- Nice view of the lake if you are 2nd floor or above|- Free breakfast|- Trolltunga Active info session held in lobby of the hotel|- Free on-site parking|- Daily housekeeping|Cons|- Expensive for size of rooms|- No AC (need to open window for air)|- Extremely tiny bathroom||This is a 2 star hotel right on the lake. There are nice views from some of the rooms (if you are not on the 1st floor); however, the hotel is at the edge of town – it’s a 20 min walk through the commercial/residential area to get to the main town area – the marina where the restaurants are situated. It seems you are paying a premium just b/c there are limited hotels in the Odda area.||The hotel does have a restaurant where free bfast is offered and paid dinner option is avail. They also have a nice outdoor deck overlooking the lake. Hotel also offers free parking. The primary reason to stay at the hotel is b/c it is partnered with Trolltunga Active. If you are doing the Trolltunga hike/tour with them, the info session is held in the lobby of the hotel at 9 PM. ||The room themselves are small. We booked a Petit double bed. There is little space to walk around the bed but there is a big enough desk you can use to spread out your bag contents if you need to. There’s also enough space by the front door for you to keep your bag. The bathroom itself is extremely tiny. There’s only ever space for one person in there and water will roll out from under the shower door into the bathroom so I suggest using the floor towel right by the shower door to soak up the water. Unfortunately, it’s not a shower or room where you can relax in after a long Trolltunga hike, but enough to feel clean after the hike. ||The rooms also do not have AC, but do have a heating unit. You do have to open the window if you want air flow. That’s not a big deal unless you don’t like bugs. We do not like bugs and prefer to keep the windows closed, but it got too warm while we were there. We finally ended up opening the windows and using the curtains to over the windows. Luckily it did not seem like there are a lot of bugs though you might get a small fly or two (we found one in the bathroom). ||Also interesting is that many of the rooms had their hiking shoes placed outside in the hallway. Assuming that’s acceptable, it does give you a bit more room/cleanliness in the room as you don’t end up dragging that dirt into your small room. ||Also note that if you like to carry your own water bottle like us, it’s difficult to fill up water in the sink since the sink is so small. However, if you take your bottle down to the lobby, they will fill it up for you at the bar (as long as the lobby is open). |Unfortunately, there are not many options when staying in Odda for the Trolltunga hike.
