Tromsø Bed & Books

Beautiful aesthetics, a hostel from heaven for book lovers and topped off with a brilliant manager who always wanted to help out. The chalkboard doors and walls together with the wall-sized map created a sense of community as you were given a glimpse into the lives of everyone that has stayed there before you. It is a 10min walk to the city centre and a 5min walk to the closest major bus stop and a 5min walk in the opposite direction to the nearest restaurant; a pizzeria with very generous portion sizes.

Lovely friendly service. Quaint well dressed rooms. Great place to meet people. A little expensive for a hostel but not bad by Norway standards and most rooms can sleep two or three so better shared.

One of my favorite places I've stayed by far! Wall to wall bookshelves set the atmosphere immediately when you walk in. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, I arrived and left at awkward times, but they were always accommodating. Will definitely be staying here again next time I'm back in Tromsø!

Went here on 25-Feb to 01-Mar-2019. In general, accommodation prices in Tromso are very steep, even compared to other Norway cities like Oslo or Bergen. It's located about 20 minutes walk from the city center (maybe more in winter!) and about 10 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop (Polaria). The room was quite small and there are 2 bathrooms which are shared by total of 5 bedrooms. But it's compensated with the spacious living roomS, kitchen and also laundry + drying machine. The kitchen is quite convenient, you will find everything that you need: fridge, microwave, oven, electric stove and sink. Basic cooking ingredients like olive oil, salt and pepper are also available. You can cook your own meals if you're on budget. Would give it a 5-stars if not for the relatively difficult access due to snow. There was quite a thick snow on the stair way to the door entrance.

Decent rooms that can get varm enough. The whole house is very clean and a huge plus that you can cook yourself. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Very friendly service in a wonderful house, full of books and stories. Great people to meet there, a cozy place to discuss until late in the non-ending polar night.

Great cozy place to stay while you go to Tromso. It is close to the city center and the people there are really nice.
