Trophy Cupcakes - Downtown

Taste: 3 Quality: 4 Quantity: 3 Service: 4 Price: 3 Trophy cupcakes is inside the Amazon building. I’ve lived in the SLU area for awhile, but didn’t realize this was here. It’s likely due to their unique hours. I learned that it has to follow the Amazon hours, so it’s only really open during your working day, M-F 10-5:30. I suppose something is better than nothing, but I don’t really know of many people who want a cupcake in the middle of a work day. Here’s the scoop. I didn’t think the cupcakes were bad at all. I actually thought the cake, base part of the cupcake, was really good. It was super dense and moist. Truth be told, I really wanted to love this place, but I didn’t think it was all that great. I think the shape of a cupcake (ratio of wide to tall) and the icing go a long way. We got the pumpkin, funfetti, cookie dough, and carrot cake. The carrot cake had cream cheese frosting. I thought the cupcake was good, but I didn’t love it. The frosting was a little too cheesy. The funfetti was a normal icing, but it (and the pumpkin) were so tall, I couldn’t bite it top down. I had to eat it from the side, and I found myself taking bites of the frosting at one point, which was a little rich for me. I don’t know. All things considered, I didn’t think they were bad. They were good! If you’re nearby, certainly check it out. I personally think they could apply a little more human centered design in the product, as opposed to making it look super fancy, which it does :) I might come back because it’s in walking distance and my wife loves cupcakes, but I don’t think I’d go too far out of my way.

Cupcakes were really good, as were the macarons. The prices felt a little high to me, but Pacific Place isn't know for being inexpensive. The woman working was very nice, but the service seemed a bit slow, especially given the small size of the orders. The location is perfect for a quick, impulse dessert after a day of shopping or sight seeing in the city.

Best cupcakes ever! No really. They will change your life and your waist line. This location isn’t the easiest to get to, but there are two other Trophy Cupcake locations if you’re not up to the challenge of finding this one in the mall. The hunt is worth the treasure though 😋

I love picking up pre orders here! Very convenient spot to pull up to. :) their website makes it very easy to order online, and they also have cupcakes, macarons and cakes to purchase same day.

To make a perfect cupcake, I look for frosting that’s not too sweet and actually tastes like what they promise, and a cake batter that’s fluffy and truly complements the frosting. Though they get the frosting half right, the batter is a bit too dense. Presentation gets an A+.

If there was a trophy for best cupcakes, it would go to Trophy cupcakes! So far, these are among the best cupcakes I have tried in Seattle. The pop-up store in downtown Seattle is in the basement of the Pacific Place mall - not visible when you enter the mall. You'll have to take the elevator down to the parking level and you'll find it right near the elevators. There are other stores in Different locations in Seattle as well. The triple chocolate is my all time favorite! Well, I love chocolate so I could be a little biased here. Have tried a few other flavors and they are pretty good too. They seem to mix things up and come up with new flavors quite often, while still offering the standard flavors. The Macaroons are pretty nice too. They usually run out of the good cupcakes pretty quick, so get there earlier in the day. That's also when they are super fresh.

The cupcakes are great, but the macarons aren't. The macarons lack flavor - I tried 6 flavors and the only ones that stood out were lemon and chocolate. They are also pretty salt heavy. Save your money for the cupcakes

Visited because of the Hello Kitty Hungry Hunt in March 2016. They limited the number of cupcakes each day, so there were long queues well before the place was opened. Essentially get there an hour before it opens. The cupcake was quite delicious, rich chocolate flavour and the buttercream wasn't too sweet. $6 for this particular cupcake otherwise, cupcakes were about $3-4/each. Definitely one of the better cupcakes I've had in awhile.
