Trozo de Oso

Best restaurant I went to in Spain, and that includes the places with actual Michelin stars. Just fantastic. The chefs take their work incredibly seriously, and the food benefits from it. I wouldn't be surprised if this has a Michelin star or two in a year or so. It's a small, tight menu. The pickles and melons are exquisite, as is the turbot. My girlfriend liked the steak tartar so much we went back a second time. If Trozo de Oso were in New York, we'd be in all the time.

We enjoyed a lot! Unexpected bistro at the beach. Best lunch in Costa Brava. Amazing selection of natural wine. All dishes were well balanced and with bright touches. We enjoyed a lot, highly recommend to visit.

Oscar and his team at Trozo have created a very special food spot in this small town just outside Begur. The food was exceptional, very high quality produce made with exceptional craft. Simple unpretentious food, smaller portions delivering big on flavour. The natural wines went down beautifully with the food. Service was amazing, we were made to feel like locals. Definitely book ahead or arrive early as we watched many people get turned away.

Easily my favorite meal (twice!) on our Costa Brava visit, very lucky this was close to our hotel. The menu changes daily(??) so good to go more than once to really explore. Their wine program is also fantastic, their staff excellent and the music always fun and vibey. Highly recommend.

A new little restaurant, tastefully done. Simple but elegant in its own beach style way. The service and staff, attentive and great music . The food was excellent, inventive small plates, done perfectly. The flavours, presentation all 5 star.

This meal, and the experience in total, was nothing short of a dream—and for sure, the highlight of our trip. Coming from New York City, where the best restaurants in the world exist and leave our expectations high, it is not easy to be impressed. The food, the convivial service, the design of the space: all a 10/10. Hopeful to make it back for a second time before we return home.

Fantastic meal. Excellent service. Reasonably priced. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Try the oysters, the melon with curry verde, the sollomio (tenderloin), and the patatas. It's all exquisite, with careful attention paid to the food, its preparation, and its presentation. You cannot go wrong here.

Hard to believe I’ve not ranked this place. Been here 4+ times this summer. I eat all over the costa brava and this is a special place. The plates are small. But world class. They change a bit here and there. Which is great. Wine list is ‘just ok’ but it’s acceptable. The build (cutlery, wine glasses, chairs) could be better but the food well makes up for it. Order a ton. Eat well. Can’t wait to come back next season.
