Tru by Hilton Brooklyn

I was boarding the Queen Mary 2 the next day and wanted to be near the cruise terminal. I loved this location, it was very quiet. Upon arriving, the young lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. I was surprised how small the room was, but the bathroom was rather roomy and had wonderful amenities. The breakfast room was colorful and fun and I enjoyed that they served Lavazza coffees ~ delicious! I actually ate a healthy breakfast. The ship had delayed boarding by 2 hours and the hotel was kind to give me a later departure. My stay was very accommodating and being a solo female traveler, I felt safe walking around the area at night. Thank you Hilton Tru in Brooklyn!

Decent hotel overall. Pros: - Nice furniture - Breakfast is decent - Neat rooms Cons: People smoke weed in bathrooms, so thanks to the common bathroom exhaust riser your room will smell like weed too. Also we even changed rooms and still experienced a weird knocking sound all night long, so we couldn't get a good night' sleep. Only with earplugs. No soundproofing, can hear elevator, hallway conversations and etc. So it's a nice hotel, but hard to get any rest there.

I really like this hotel, I have already stayed there a couple of times. Many restaurants and supermarkets in the area, close to many areas of interest. The hotel has a parking lot available, which is extremely convenient. Lower level has a pool table and board games, I really love this about the hotel. This place is a win.

The Concierge was great when we arrived and the place smelled great. The breakfast was good too which I recommend as it does come w/ your stay there. They have a pancake maker machine that can make up to about 10 pancakes for you. The downstairs is a great place to spend time with your loved ones. But the rooms aren't too big and the pictures they have displayed on their website are true to size, etc.I

Wonderful stay! Clean rooms, large breakfast area that is also an all day hang out area with pool table, etc. A fun retro vibe! Lots of good restaurants and bars nearby…very walkable area! Great employees!!! Shout out to the manager Paul and Amanda at the front desk both very helpful and accommodating!|Side note: Folks this is Brooklyn…you will pay for parking. Having a hotel that can offer some is a bonus!

We had a great stay here! The rooms were clean, breakfast was well stocked and the employees are all wonderful! It’s close to some great restaurants and bars. Subway is close! Folks…you will pay for parking! It’s Brooklyn! The charge is reasonable and the comfort of having a reserve spot during your stay is awesome!

Such a convenient hotel! The R train is right around the corner so commute to Manhattan was easy. Lots of good food around and staff was friendly. The rooms were decently sized, nice showers, but there was some slight mold on the ceiling. They offer free breakfast which is a great amenity, although I did not try it. The room I stayed in had a fridge but no microwave, however there is a microwave in the lobby. They also have some snacks and drinks for purchase. Area was nice and felt pretty safe as a woman traveling alone. Overall happy with my stay. This was a convenient location with great amenities.

The room was small, but very efficiently laid out and clean. Modern furniture and high ceilings. I would recommend for business travellers, destination event attendees and area explorers. Disclaimer: I did not get to experience the hotel service much and I did not explore the area as I was there for one night attended and event and left the next day. I did receive water and extra towels promptly upon request at 2am, so I have updated my service rating.

Would I ever go back to this hotel? I'm not too sure. When we checked in, we were told that our room was ready and given our key. Upon arriving to the room, it was extremely dirty. We then went back to the front desk and they quickly gave us a new room key, but it seemed like there was an error in their system, where the room was marked as clean when in fact, it was not. The room itself is pretty spacious for a Brooklyn hotel. There is nice lights as well as nice amenities with the cool soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom. The shower door did leak so just be warned of that. My only other complaint would be that our bedsheets were dirty with lipstick stains on our duvet cover. breakfast does come with your stay. The food was OK. The coffee was not great.

The room was dirty. The food was burnt They didn't give food service Water not hot at all. They didn't give medical help They didn't care that my gf and I(Yes we're lesbian) were having an engagement party and forced us to leave the table for some other couple they didn't give us any refreshments

Very clean and quiet hotel in Brooklyn, neighborhood was safe (at time of stay) and street was clean! Hotel staff were very nice and breakfast was always full and fresh. Only complaint was I asked the front desk staff for the body soap to be filled, which they never came through for me. Luckily I stopped a very nice house keeper and helped me out!

Staying 5 days at $300+ a night and insufficient AC in either room offered. GM was alerted days ago and no personal response other than $30/worth of points. Don't stay here unless you like sleeping in a sauna.

We stayed at the Tru in Brooklyn for a weekend in early June. There are very few hotels in walking distance of Park Slope and this is perhaps the least expensive. Overall, we were satisfied. The room is small, of course, but comfortable. The big perk at the Tru is the guest lounge, which gives you a good place to hang out, especially as there is no room for socializing in the room. The lounge has varied seating, 2 TVs, and a pool table. The hotel offers limited parking, but none was available when we arrived mid-afternoon on a Saturday. The lot, however, is very tight, and probably wouldn't work for a larger vehicle. We had good luck with street parking, so it wasn't an issue. The weakness of the hotel was the free breakfast. It had the standard offerings, but ran out of most items midway through the breakfast hours. The food and supplies were not replenished, and the area was not kept clean as guests came and went. The coffee in the lounge was available 24/7, but also was not kept up, so later in the day it was cold and had been standing for hours. When we requested new coffee in the evening. only the regular coffee was replenished, not the decaf or hot water. That said, the staff was very friendly. We got the sense that they were just a bit understaffed and that the staff was not well trained. We will probably stay here again, but only because it meets our needs vis-a-vis location.
