I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Brooklyn over the years, but Tru by Hilton absolutely blew me away—and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best hotel in the borough. From the moment I checked in, everything felt effortless. The staff were friendly without being overbearing, and the vibe of the lobby was modern, colorful, and actually fun. There’s a game area, cozy seating, and even a 24/7 snack zone that saved me more than once after late-night outings. just Excellent!!

Really nice all the way around. Fitness room is awesome. The downstairs has a large room, with tables, comfy chairs and a pool table. Nice for just getting out of the room. Rooms are tight but very well thought out.

We stayed here for three nights this past weekend. The location is great, the room was clean when we arrived, the complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the 24-hour coffee and tea were a nice touch. The front desk staff were friendly, and the beautiful common room made it easy for our group of wedding guests to gather.||Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was a disappointment. Housekeeping never showed up—despite our request and being assured it would happen—and with only one tiny trash can, garbage piled up in the room by the end of our stay. The toilet clogged early on, and although we reported it both by text and in person, nothing was done for eight hours. Instead, we were handed a plunger and told to fix it ourselves.||Between the lack of basic service, the ignored maintenance issues, and the indifference to guest comfort, we will not stay here again and do not recommend it.

I'd give this hotel a solid 4 stars. Overall in a convenient location with the Union street subway within a 3 minute walk. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean but tiny. Housekeeping is every other day which is fine. There are a few things that are not typical like no closet (you have shelves and hangers), no safety deposit box or coffee machine, however you do have access to coffee and tea in the basement area along with a basic breakfast that is included in your stay. Well priced and a decent stay!

I actually live in another Brooklyn neighborhood, and stayed here for one night so I could pass along a house key to friends who were arriving late on a flight. This hotel was near their destination, and I figured why not kill two birds and use it as a mini staycation / work from my room the next morning. Although it was a short stay, the staff were INCREDIBLY kind, and check-in/check-out was quick. The property appears to be newer, and my room was cute and spotlessly clean. There are grocery stores and delicious restaurants nearby, and I was able to easily pick up a Seamless order and run to the store before relaxing in my room for the evening. I didn't have a chance to check out breakfast, but the common room in the basement is well-designed, and I noticed some excellent work spaces. I'm definitely coming back for a future staycation when I need a break from my pre-war building. :D|I have only one suggestion: I've always hoped that New York area hotel chains might consider offering electric kettles to check out at the front desk for not only international visitors, but those of us in the US who have become accustomed to European and Asian hotel room kettles. I know the area in this Tru location is heavily visited by non-Americans, and I think they would love this option!

I am disappointed to say that my daughter and I had a bad experience during our 4 day 3 night stay. To make matters worse Paul the manager did not follow through, He gave us his word that he was going to “make it right” During the second morning that we were there we had a guest walk into our room as the front desk mistakenly without our knowledge, transferred us to a different room so therefore they gave a guest a key to our room, 10 minutes later, Amanda, the front desk supervisor opened the door to our room as we were laying in bed, trying to sleep and questioned whether or not I had a reservation. She was the one that checked us in to begin with. She was very aggressive, she raised her voice at me, and after asking her to leave my room several times as I was uncomfortable, she refused. I told her I would come down and speak to her in the lobby once I got up and got dressed. She still refused. I had to ask her four times to leave and it took over five minutes of going back-and-forth with her. Paul apologized and said that none of this should’ve happened and that he would Comp one of our nights, it never happened. He also told me that he could not keep Amanda employed there after what she did, I don’t agree with someone losing their job, but he lied about that as well. I asked for the owner’s phone number several times and was never given their number. I have Corporate’s number now so I will see if I can get anywhere with Corporate. I have used Tru hotels exclusively the last several years and was hoping to do so in the future, not after this incident

Very friendly staff.Tima was awesome. The fitness center was adequately equipped. And the breakfast was very good. The rooms are small like all TRau hotel rooms. But in the basement they had a pool table and desks.

Yelp
Would I ever go back to this hotel? I'm not too sure. When we checked in, we were told that our room was ready and given our key. Upon arriving to the room, it was extremely dirty. We then went back to the front desk and they quickly gave us a new room key, but it seemed like there was an error in their system, where the room was marked as clean when in fact, it was not. The room itself is pretty spacious for a Brooklyn hotel. There is nice lights as well as nice amenities with the cool soap and shampoo dispensers in the bathroom. The shower door did leak so just be warned of that. My only other complaint would be that our bedsheets were dirty with lipstick stains on our duvet cover. breakfast does come with your stay. The food was OK. The coffee was not great.

Yelp
Very clean and quiet hotel in Brooklyn, neighborhood was safe (at time of stay) and street was clean! Hotel staff were very nice and breakfast was always full and fresh. Only complaint was I asked the front desk staff for the body soap to be filled, which they never came through for me. Luckily I stopped a very nice house keeper and helped me out!

Yelp
Staying 5 days at $300+ a night and insufficient AC in either room offered. GM was alerted days ago and no personal response other than $30/worth of points. Don't stay here unless you like sleeping in a sauna.

Yelp
We stayed at the Tru in Brooklyn for a weekend in early June. There are very few hotels in walking distance of Park Slope and this is perhaps the least expensive. Overall, we were satisfied. The room is small, of course, but comfortable. The big perk at the Tru is the guest lounge, which gives you a good place to hang out, especially as there is no room for socializing in the room. The lounge has varied seating, 2 TVs, and a pool table. The hotel offers limited parking, but none was available when we arrived mid-afternoon on a Saturday. The lot, however, is very tight, and probably wouldn't work for a larger vehicle. We had good luck with street parking, so it wasn't an issue. The weakness of the hotel was the free breakfast. It had the standard offerings, but ran out of most items midway through the breakfast hours. The food and supplies were not replenished, and the area was not kept clean as guests came and went. The coffee in the lounge was available 24/7, but also was not kept up, so later in the day it was cold and had been standing for hours. When we requested new coffee in the evening. only the regular coffee was replenished, not the decaf or hot water. That said, the staff was very friendly. We got the sense that they were just a bit understaffed and that the staff was not well trained. We will probably stay here again, but only because it meets our needs vis-a-vis location.
