True Hand

I was here for The Wonder Years flash event and was completely blown away at how organized the event was ran and of course at all of the fantastic work each artist did. Everyone was super friendly, professional, and you can tell everyone enjoys their job. I would travel here to get work done by any of these artist again!

True Hand is a seriously rad space — part tattoo studio, part design shop, part creative vortex — and it all works. Mike Ski brings a calm, steady energy to the place that makes you feel like you’re in good hands (literally and metaphorically).

Had had a design in mind for a while and found True Hand through other tattoo artists/studios I follow. I made the appointment on a whim while on a mini-vacation in Philly. Love that they're in an old church...really spacious and airy! Everything is super clean and tidy. All the staff are so kind and welcoming and I really appreciate all the safety protocols in place! Mike was super responsive and very helpful in adjusting the design I wanted to better fit the spot I'd chosen. I absolutely love it!!

Had a wonderful experience at today's Wonder Years pop up event. Would absolutely recommend True Hand.

There is not a single tattoo artist here that I wouldn't recommend. I got a beautiful tattoo by Kate Collins and it was the most pleasant experience I've ever had getting tattooed. The place is beautiful (it's in an old church complete with stained glass windows!) and filled with great art books for inspiration. Fun and interesting conversations with the artists (and even some clients) flow freely around the space. True Hand is so professional and clean, plus it is such a relaxing experience. I can't wait to go back.

Topper did an awesome job. This place is hip, relaxed and full of professionals. They do graphic design, branding, and web work in addition to tattoos. Super friendly, clean and welcoming for your first tattoo or the last addition to your full back piece. Highly recommend.

getting tattooed in a former church is what some may call a spiritual experience. 13/10

Ross is a great tattoo artist, did a tattoo a year for me. The compliments I get from the line work alone make me happy I had work done from him. Today I went because I had another artist who I felt did not do a great job. Despite offering to fix the issue for free I said no. Ross was up to the task and fix the issue. I left knowing I can recommend Ross to anyone.

I had an awesome experience with Cindy Vega this past weekend at True Hand Society. AMAZING WORK!!!!!!! I cannot be more thrilled with the tattoo and the experience. First of all she is a fantastic artist with a true hand no doubt. I came in with a loose idea of flowers from my wedding and she easily drew some gorgeous art by picking up on all the things we had talked about. Once we were ready to go she made me super comfortable. My wife and I had a great time talking and laughing (despite the inking taking place) Also, it is worth noting that the space that True Hand is in is really well put together, clean/contemporary/inviting. The tattoo is stellar; I am still marveling at the detail and precision. If you are reading this review, please go see Cindy at True Hand Society, she is incredible.

This is not your normal tattoo shop. Extremely relaxed environment with exceptional artists. I've received several tattoos from "Topper" and I'm extremely satisfied with his attention to detail and professionalism. I've received two tattoos from him, and with each he's brought my vision to life and exceeded my expectations. Check him out!

Nice place to get a tattoo. It's comfortable, clean, and the artists do some great work. Just check out their Instagram and you'll see some beautiful, vibrant pieces. I was very pleased with the tattoo I got. It was exactly what I had in mind. The artist sketched it really quick and got it done in 4 hours, which was exactly the time he estimated. The only thing I didn't like was that it was that it was impossible to get in touch with them for follow up work. Very disappointing, in particular because we chatted about the fact that artists can often be flaky when it comes to communications and appointments. Luckily there is no shortage of tattoo shops in the area so it's not a huge loss. Oh yes, I have to say, parking here is a bitch. I'd definitely recommend taking public transportation or an Uber if you're planning on stopping by.

True Hand isn't just a Tattoo Shop, it's a lifestyle. Jessie and Mike designed and built my company's brand complete with a comprehensive look and a family of logos. They were great a follow up and were able to make a few tweaks in a very short turn around so that I could adapt the logos for things like T-shirts, swag, quickly provide different formats and file types with levels of transparency on request. The whole crew at True Hand are a literal society of extraordinary folks. They are connected to an incredible group of talented an generous people who act as a network of awesomeness. If you're associated with this company at all, as a friend, client or neighbor, you're in truly good hands.

Such an awesome place to get a tattoo. Very cool vibe. Even emailing to make an appointment was a good experience, everyone is enthusiastic and makes you feel very welcome. Plus my tattoo turned out beautiful. Mike Ski is the man!!!

I don't understand how there is not only just one review but that it's not 5 stars. By far the best place I have ever been too and I have a lot of tattoos. Awesome dudes..friendly and professional..their work is really unmatched in the city. All great artists, mike is particularly skilled. It's an awesome experience going there..super fun and you will leave with a great piece of work!
