We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and our dinner. Field is such a tiny town. It was a fun respite after spending time in Banff and Jasper with hordes of fellow tourists. The people working here were charming as is the restaurant. We knew about the train noise, but nevertheless opened our window to keep our room cool and provide fresh air. I think maybe 4 trains passed through as we slept, waking us every time with the grinding sound of steel on steel, but to us that was part of the charm. My only complaint - we got a pastry and a coffee in the cafe before departing in the morning and I found the coffee to be very ordinary - tasted like coffee-flavored water. We highly recommend staying here, though!

If you have time to visit this great Inn at Field, on your way exploring the National Parks of the Canadian Rockies. After an amazing trek at Takanaka Falls we were extremely hungry. The menu has an assortment of dishes all unique in their ingredients. Our waiter Malik was exceptional. He promptly attended out table and recommended drinks and food. Then, we had the Goiza for entrees and for mains BBQ Bison and pan crusted salmon with risotto. For desert the Berry pie 🥧 with icecream was so tasty. Highly recommend a meal here.

Stopped here for dinner with my wife after an afternoon at Emerald Lake. The location is stunning and the building itself is beautiful inside. There was a slight wait but that wasn't a problem because it allowed us time to take in the scenery. I had the Carbonara and it was hands down the best I've had. My wife had the burger and enjoyed it as well. We are very happy we found this restaurant on our vacation.

Stopped here for dinner and were treated to excellent food and service. We had the Moroccan stew special that night and the salmon over risotto, both paired with excellent Canada wines the waiter recommended. Price is in line with the high end meal. Will go back for sure next time we visit.

We stayed 1 night and ate at the restaurant. Room was clean and well prepared. It is worth mentioning that the coffee pod they used is much better than the typical filtered coffee you get in other hotels. +1. Chocolate on bed .. another nice touch. Food in restaurants also quite nice. They do get busy and last order around 8.30pm when we were there. so dont come too late!

We stayed in a family room for 2 nights. The room was great with 2 queen beds and a futon. This was above an opened area that had a kitchen with table and a couple of single chairs. The room had huge windows which showed off the amazing views of the mountain and river. It was not cheap per night but the town is full of guesthouses but not sure where these are advertised. We stayed because of the meal reviews. This was a mixed review - Half the group loved their meals and were some of the highlight meals of the trip. Others were underwhelmed. Being a little out of the way they run out of food and some menu items can’t be purchased every night. Meals also not on the cheap side as our first night we ended up with the biggest food bill ever and we eat out at least once a week and travel a lot. However we did order the meals and know the price so this is not a negative, just wanting to make traveler’s aware of costs. Room was still good and would stay a single night again to enjoy the ambiance.

I had high expectations for Truffle Pigs Lodge & Restaurant, but our stay turned into a very difficult and disappointing experience. When my husband was stranded nearby after a car breakdown, I was left at the lodge pregnant and with my 5-year-old child. In that moment, I looked to the hotel for support. Sadly, instead of offering the compassion and assistance one would expect, several staff members refused to help unless I offered money. One eventually agreed, but only after persistently asking for payment and even preventing me from entering the restaurant with my child until I complied. At a time of genuine need, this felt deeply unfair and distressing. Beyond that, the room was hot and humid due to poor conditioning, and the food was underwhelming — lacking flavor and not matching the high prices. At breakfast which was below average the next morning, we were asked for payment repeatedly even though we had just started eating, which left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. The lodge is in a beautiful setting, but unfortunately the service and attitude we encountered did not reflect the values of hospitality. With some training and a genuine focus on guest care, this place could live up to its potential — but until then, I cannot recommend it based on our experience.

Truffle Pigs Bistro is truly one of the best restaurants in the area! The dishes are delicious, generously portioned, and offer excellent value for money. The restaurant uses fresh local ingredients combined with classic European cooking methods, making every plate a delightful surprise. Celia provided us with outstanding service – attentive and thoughtful – she truly deserves a big compliment! From the atmosphere to the food and service, everything was perfect. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!
