My family and I recently stayed at the Trump Hotel Ireland (Doonbeg) for two nights in one of the (four bedroom) cottages. This is clearly a golfer's paradise with an amazing links course, and the views are stunning. We were fortunate to have perfect sunny weather in the 70's during our stay. The hotel (property) and the cottages are impeccable. The cottage we were in had four large bedrooms (all with their own bathrooms) and a generous sized living room, dining room and kitchen. We felt completely at home there. It was a very busy time for the hotel and there was a lot of activity, but it never felt crowded, just alive. Whether you golf or not, there is plenty to do on the resort, or nearby - two nights was really not enough time to explore all that was on offer. The restaurants and bar are excellent, particularly with their perfect breakfast experience. But over and above everything else, the thing that made this a standout location to have a family vacation was the staff. Each person we encountered, whether they were check-in staff, drivers (of the free shuttles), F&B servers, housekeeping or just the grounds staff that waved as they passed on the road, was friendly and a pleasure to interact with. This is a very well run property and although it's a bit of a hike from Dublin, it's worth the journey. You will be very thankful for visiting the Trump Hotel at Doonbeg!

Trump Doonbeg is phenomenal. As we were three couples, we stayed in a centrally located cottage, which had a living room, dining area, and kitchen. It was very comfortable for the six of us, and we enjoyed having morning coffee and tea before walking the short distance to what was a gourmet breakfast every single day. Everything we had was top-tier. Everything.||We can't give enough kudos to the staff, who were (to a person) friendly and efficient. The bar/restaurant had great food, we very much enjoyed dinner there a couple of the nights that we stayed. The other two nights, we had the shuttle drive us the short distance into town, and we ate two delicious meals there, at Tubridy's and Morrisseys.||This was a golf vacation for the guys, and Doonbeg Golf Course was an overwhelming hit with the golfers. Again, staff was so very helpful and accommodating to them. ||Every staff member we talked to had great things to say about being employed at a Trump hotel, and several mentioned how Mr. Trump has been a great asset to their small community. This is our third Trump Hotel experience, and they have all been wonderful. He knows how to run a hotel; nothing was forgotten, nothing was anything other than perfect. We would return, absolutely.

Beautful facility, wonderful staff and the best breakfasts of our entire Ireland trip. We absolutely loved our stay here even though we are not golfers. The common rooms and bedrooms are luxurious and views of the sea from the restaurant are wonderful. We enjoyed strolling on the beach each morning after breakfast. The staff recommended a great local restaurant for the night we did not eat here. It is also a short drive to the Kilkee Cliffs where we had it all to ourselves. A gem in every way.

Let me preface by saying that we did not stay here, nor did we play golf. ||We were driving part of the Wild Atlantic Way on September 10. We were on tiny roads, nearly in the middle of nowhere. My husband spotted the sign "Trump International". We had no idea that it was out there. We turned around to check it out. As we entered the property we came to a little gate house. A nice looking man, came out to greet us. He asked if we were checking in. We told him we were just driving by. I was holding my breath, I thought he might tell us to turn around. To our absolute delight he smiled his fantastic smiled and said with a bit of a giggle "Just wanted to have a look see?" We said yes, that we just wanted to see it. He told us where to park and encouraged us to go upstairs to the restaurant "at least have a coffee while you're here". We looked about the incredibly maintained grounds. Checked out the back of the property. Looked over the pro shop. Then went upstairs to the restaurant bar. The bartender was VERY professional but also kind. When I asked him sheepishly if I could keep one of the little cloth coasters, he said sure and "take this too" as he tossed me a pen. We went back to the pro shop looking for a sweatshirt. The extremely gracious employee in the shop told me that they'd be in the gift shop. He said it was closed. He made a call and said "she's opening it up". Then he walked us through the property to take us to the gift shop. I love my sweatshirt. What a fabulous little surprise on our adventure.

Stayed overnight at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Links – loved it. This place is gorgeous. It appears that no expense was spared in its design; impeccably furnished, the main building conveys a sophisticated, old world charm. We stayed in a multiunit villa, located about a quarter mile from the main building. Our unit contained a king-sized bed, large bathroom, kitchen, dining table, and a living room with a large sofa. The staff was very well trained and looked after our every need, including packed breakfast boxes ready at the crack of dawn. There are great restaurants and two large bars, one resembled a hunting lodge replete with fireplaces and was more suited as a warm retreat for intimate conversations. By contrast, the other provided more of a party atmosphere with large screen tvs; depending on your mood, each was great for either catching up with a friend over a drink or unwinding with your foursome after a day on the links. The food and service were top rate and scored highest marks in every category. Regrettably, we did not have time to play golf.

Honestly a solid three star experience. Please note that I did not golf while here so that doesn’t include the course in its consideration. Staff was all very nice. But overall there is just something missing from what I expected from a Trump property (frankly this is my first stay at one). I enjoy Europes 5 star hotels because they are typically 7 stars when compared to the US. I frequent the George V in Paris, the Lanesborough in London and was just at the Shelbourne in Dublin (currently at the Hayward Manor in Cork). This property feels like a bit of a Pier 1 imports compared to these other iconic properties (especially as someone in high end construction - the details are definitely lost).||||I’m taking my 73 year old mom across Europe - and we are managing well - but it is nice to have things like valet parking - someone to help me get all the bags sorted, etc. none of this at this property. As I write this review we had a bit of an exhausting day that was stressful driving through rural Ireland to see where our ancestors were from. I was looking forward to having the car disappear with the valet - my bags end up in the room and me ending up quickly at the bar for a relaxing beverage. Nope - move car - lug bags up and down multiple flights of stairs in the suite - find parking, etc.||||Food was average - but I didn’t order anything extra extraordinary so there might be better options on the menu (at in the main bar). We opted for the breakfast in the room and were a bit disappointed to receive an omelette that was rubbery as my mom described it and my pancakes were cold like they just came from the fridge.||||I want to enjoy a steam in the morning at the spa, same thing very much not anything to write home about… It was clean, but I’ve probably become spoiled by these other properties that I usually stay at and have high expectations. An extremely small locker area and only a single sink - just seemed extremely odd and not well thought out.||||The crowd there also felt very “new east coast money.” At the other properties I’ve mentioned I enjoy the “wealth whispers” appearance and vibe. It was a good deal of east coast Americans - and being from the west coast I think we might just differ a bit culturally. I did meet some awesome local Irish folks at the bar!||||I take my reviews very thoughtfully… I’m assuming the golf is amazing, the course looked spectacular but if you’re traveling in Europe and enjoying five star properties, this definitely doesn’t check the box. It doesn’t carry nearly the price tag of the other properties I’ve mentioned, but I think part of me expected more from a Trump property. If I’m back in Ireland and have time for more golf I would definitely book at the course - but manage expectations of the property and not bring my aging mom where I have to do all the heavy lifting.

Trump Doonbeg is a special place and is a 6 Star Resort. The Ocean View Restaurant should be a Michelin, Trump Bar & Restaurant has great pub food, the Fish & Chips are a must order if you love fish and chips. The service was exceptional from the minute you arrived to the minute you left. It is clear that Trump organization has adopted the Ritz service principals. We had very few issues but when you did the staff resolved. The golf course is amazing a pleasure to play a course you can play every day. In fact we cancelled playing at other places in order to enjoy Trump Doonbeg. Don't think you will find a better resort in Ireland.

I was in the area and had to stop in to see this property. Went through the golf shop looking for a shirt to buy but unfortunately could not find one I fancied. I went to the restaurant bar and had a Guinness. The staff were very nice and attentive. I would like to come back and stay here. It’s a little bit out in the country and not really easy to get to( I was staying in Dublin).
