Unlike most guests, who were avid golfers, we did not play golf during our stay. Instead, we spent a full week using the resort as our base while exploring the breathtaking west coast of Ireland.||||LOCATION – The property enjoys a truly stunning setting, positioned approximately halfway between the Cliffs of Moher and Loop Head Lighthouse. The nearby beach is exquisite — long, serene, and ideal for leisurely walks. The resort’s peaceful seclusion adds to its charm, though it is some distance from shops or restaurants, something worth noting when planning your visit.||||ROOMS – The cottages are situated about an 8–10 minute walk from the main building, where the restaurants are located. We were fortunate to stay in a suite within the main house, which was spacious, elegant, and exceptionally comfortable, complete with a small kitchenette. The room was immaculate — I’m meticulous about cleanliness and was impressed to find every corner spotless.||The décor featured beautiful, classic furnishings that exuded character and warmth, in contrast to the minimalist modern style often found elsewhere. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, dressed with fine linens.||Our only challenge was temperature control: the rooms are well heated, and the heavy duvet became a bit too warm at night. Opening the bathroom window helped but invited a few insects in. Housekeeping kindly provided lighter blankets after a couple of nights, which resolved the issue perfectly. The shower was powerful and modern — a delightful touch.||||SERVICE – From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. We had the pleasure of meeting Charlie, Trudy, Clíodhna (forgive me if I’ve misspelled her name), and Nicole at breakfast — each one warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their professionalism, combined with a natural Irish charm, elevated our experience and made our stay truly memorable.||||DINING – During our visit, which fell in the low season, only one restaurant was open. The menu was limited but offered well-prepared dishes made with fresh, quality ingredients. As most guests appeared to be golfers staying only a night or two, the selection suited them perfectly. However, for those staying longer, as we did, it’s something to keep in mind.||||Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. The setting, the comfort, and above all, the gracious hospitality made for an unforgettable experience. We would happily return — perhaps next time for a slightly shorter visit — and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking tranquility, beauty, and genuine Irish warmth.

We only stayed one night, as well as played a round of golf, and it was nothing shy of an amazing experience! The cottages were perfect for a cozy night sleep and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The food at the Trump restaurant was so delicious… the wagyu burger is the best I’ve ever had! The staff here were all attentive and helpful, the golf course well manicured, and the grounds surrounding the facility just perfect. I used the spa, but only the hot tub, sauna, and steam room which was nice but wish they had a shared facility that both men and women can enjoy together. As a couple it would have been nice to have this option rather than being segregated. This said, the spa facilities were decent but also nothing extraordinary. We very much enjoyed our stay here at Trump Doonbeg and glad we chose it as a stop on our Ireland country tour.

My family and I recently stayed at the Trump Hotel Ireland (Doonbeg) for two nights in one of the (four bedroom) cottages. This is clearly a golfer's paradise with an amazing links course, and the views are stunning. We were fortunate to have perfect sunny weather in the 70's during our stay. The hotel (property) and the cottages are impeccable. The cottage we were in had four large bedrooms (all with their own bathrooms) and a generous sized living room, dining room and kitchen. We felt completely at home there. It was a very busy time for the hotel and there was a lot of activity, but it never felt crowded, just alive. Whether you golf or not, there is plenty to do on the resort, or nearby - two nights was really not enough time to explore all that was on offer. The restaurants and bar are excellent, particularly with their perfect breakfast experience. But over and above everything else, the thing that made this a standout location to have a family vacation was the staff. Each person we encountered, whether they were check-in staff, drivers (of the free shuttles), F&B servers, housekeeping or just the grounds staff that waved as they passed on the road, was friendly and a pleasure to interact with. This is a very well run property and although it's a bit of a hike from Dublin, it's worth the journey. You will be very thankful for visiting the Trump Hotel at Doonbeg!

Trump Doonbeg is phenomenal. As we were three couples, we stayed in a centrally located cottage, which had a living room, dining area, and kitchen. It was very comfortable for the six of us, and we enjoyed having morning coffee and tea before walking the short distance to what was a gourmet breakfast every single day. Everything we had was top-tier. Everything.||We can't give enough kudos to the staff, who were (to a person) friendly and efficient. The bar/restaurant had great food, we very much enjoyed dinner there a couple of the nights that we stayed. The other two nights, we had the shuttle drive us the short distance into town, and we ate two delicious meals there, at Tubridy's and Morrisseys.||This was a golf vacation for the guys, and Doonbeg Golf Course was an overwhelming hit with the golfers. Again, staff was so very helpful and accommodating to them. ||Every staff member we talked to had great things to say about being employed at a Trump hotel, and several mentioned how Mr. Trump has been a great asset to their small community. This is our third Trump Hotel experience, and they have all been wonderful. He knows how to run a hotel; nothing was forgotten, nothing was anything other than perfect. We would return, absolutely.

The second you arrive at the hotel perfection takes over, from check in, the suite, the bar, food and the restaurant, breakfast the course it is all perfect!!! ||I cannot praise the staff service enough, every single person we came across was impeccable, fantastic. ||The breakfast was perhaps the best we’ve ever had in any hotel stayed in. ||The suite had everything you could ask for. ||I cannot praise this hotel enough. ||I hope we will be back again someday.

Beautful facility, wonderful staff and the best breakfasts of our entire Ireland trip. We absolutely loved our stay here even though we are not golfers. The common rooms and bedrooms are luxurious and views of the sea from the restaurant are wonderful. We enjoyed strolling on the beach each morning after breakfast. The staff recommended a great local restaurant for the night we did not eat here. It is also a short drive to the Kilkee Cliffs where we had it all to ourselves. A gem in every way.

Our first stay at Trump Doonbeg was wonderful. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the bottle of zero Prosecco in our room was such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the whole resort had a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Overall, a beautiful stay — we’d definitely return!

Honestly a solid three star experience. Please note that I did not golf while here so that doesn’t include the course in its consideration. Staff was all very nice. But overall there is just something missing from what I expected from a Trump property (frankly this is my first stay at one). I enjoy Europes 5 star hotels because they are typically 7 stars when compared to the US. I frequent the George V in Paris, the Lanesborough in London and was just at the Shelbourne in Dublin (currently at the Hayward Manor in Cork). This property feels like a bit of a Pier 1 imports compared to these other iconic properties (especially as someone in high end construction - the details are definitely lost).||||I’m taking my 73 year old mom across Europe - and we are managing well - but it is nice to have things like valet parking - someone to help me get all the bags sorted, etc. none of this at this property. As I write this review we had a bit of an exhausting day that was stressful driving through rural Ireland to see where our ancestors were from. I was looking forward to having the car disappear with the valet - my bags end up in the room and me ending up quickly at the bar for a relaxing beverage. Nope - move car - lug bags up and down multiple flights of stairs in the suite - find parking, etc.||||Food was average - but I didn’t order anything extra extraordinary so there might be better options on the menu (at in the main bar). We opted for the breakfast in the room and were a bit disappointed to receive an omelette that was rubbery as my mom described it and my pancakes were cold like they just came from the fridge.||||I want to enjoy a steam in the morning at the spa, same thing very much not anything to write home about… It was clean, but I’ve probably become spoiled by these other properties that I usually stay at and have high expectations. An extremely small locker area and only a single sink - just seemed extremely odd and not well thought out.||||The crowd there also felt very “new east coast money.” At the other properties I’ve mentioned I enjoy the “wealth whispers” appearance and vibe. It was a good deal of east coast Americans - and being from the west coast I think we might just differ a bit culturally. I did meet some awesome local Irish folks at the bar!||||I take my reviews very thoughtfully… I’m assuming the golf is amazing, the course looked spectacular but if you’re traveling in Europe and enjoying five star properties, this definitely doesn’t check the box. It doesn’t carry nearly the price tag of the other properties I’ve mentioned, but I think part of me expected more from a Trump property. If I’m back in Ireland and have time for more golf I would definitely book at the course - but manage expectations of the property and not bring my aging mom where I have to do all the heavy lifting.
