Unlike most guests, who were avid golfers, we did not play golf during our stay. Instead, we spent a full week using the resort as our base while exploring the breathtaking west coast of Ireland.||||LOCATION – The property enjoys a truly stunning setting, positioned approximately halfway between the Cliffs of Moher and Loop Head Lighthouse. The nearby beach is exquisite — long, serene, and ideal for leisurely walks. The resort’s peaceful seclusion adds to its charm, though it is some distance from shops or restaurants, something worth noting when planning your visit.||||ROOMS – The cottages are situated about an 8–10 minute walk from the main building, where the restaurants are located. We were fortunate to stay in a suite within the main house, which was spacious, elegant, and exceptionally comfortable, complete with a small kitchenette. The room was immaculate — I’m meticulous about cleanliness and was impressed to find every corner spotless.||The décor featured beautiful, classic furnishings that exuded character and warmth, in contrast to the minimalist modern style often found elsewhere. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, dressed with fine linens.||Our only challenge was temperature control: the rooms are well heated, and the heavy duvet became a bit too warm at night. Opening the bathroom window helped but invited a few insects in. Housekeeping kindly provided lighter blankets after a couple of nights, which resolved the issue perfectly. The shower was powerful and modern — a delightful touch.||||SERVICE – From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. We had the pleasure of meeting Charlie, Trudy, Clíodhna (forgive me if I’ve misspelled her name), and Nicole at breakfast — each one warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their professionalism, combined with a natural Irish charm, elevated our experience and made our stay truly memorable.||||DINING – During our visit, which fell in the low season, only one restaurant was open. The menu was limited but offered well-prepared dishes made with fresh, quality ingredients. As most guests appeared to be golfers staying only a night or two, the selection suited them perfectly. However, for those staying longer, as we did, it’s something to keep in mind.||||Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay. The setting, the comfort, and above all, the gracious hospitality made for an unforgettable experience. We would happily return — perhaps next time for a slightly shorter visit — and would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking tranquility, beauty, and genuine Irish warmth.
