TRUNK (HOUSE) (Tokyo, Tokyo) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"More a private residence than hotel, TRUNK HOUSE is Tokyo’s most exclusive one-room stay, a painstakingly restored 70-year-old geisha house in the storied streets of Kagurazaka. Black fencing and pine trees mark its legendary past, while inside - tatami-lined tea rooms and an irori hearth sit alongside Stephen Kenn leather sofas, terrazzo floors, and a cypress-wood bath set beneath shunga art. The real showstopper is a hidden, soundproofed disco with neon lights, a stocked bar, and a dance floor made for impromptu revelry." - Tablet Hotels

TRUNK (HOTEL) YOYOGI PARK (Tokyo, Tokyo) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Think of Shibuya and you probably imagine one of the busiest intersections in the world, but Trunk Hotel stands at the edge of the verdant Yoyogi Park, affording its rooftop pool and lounge — and many of its rooms and suites — views of urban forest rather than city streets. Then again the interiors are spectacular in their own right, a thoughtful mix of Japanese and Danish influences and a tour de force of exacting craftsmanship. The rooms and suites are all impressive, many with balconies, and the Owner’s Suite, with its indoor-outdoor bathroom, is one of the finest rooms in all of Tokyo. Don’t miss the restaurant, the painstakingly authentic Pizzeria e Trattoria L’Ombelico." - Tablet Hotels

TRUNK (HOTEL) CAT STREET (Tokyo, Tokyo) 21 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"From American blue jeans to French pastry to Italian coffee — increasingly, Tokyo is where other countries go to see their local arts and crafts practiced at the highest possible level. The youth-oriented, high-design, hyper-social boutique hotel certainly didn’t originate in Japan, but again, it just might be in Tokyo that it finds its most perfect expression. TRUNK(HOTEL) CAT STREET is the local version of something like the Ace Hotel Shoreditch or the Wythe in Williamsburg, but it’s no mere copy — as is so often the case in Japan, what sets it apart is the sheer quality of its execution, which is in turn the product of a fanatical attention to detail." - Tablet Hotels

Espresso martini was great, but pricey. Place is cozy, but still cool. Great place for having a drink with a date/friend. Early Friday evening wasn’t too busy.

My experience here was meh. I came shortly after they opened on a weekday morning and was “greeted” by a female non-Japanese staff who seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. There were lots of do’s and don’t. You have to order from the drink menu despite the row of bottles on the shelf. They won’t take cash. My “hot” Irish coffee was lukewarm and lacked flavor. I give it a two stars overall (not less) for the chill atmosphere and actually serving drinks in the morning. With the prices at nosebleed level though, I won’t come back.

After visiting some excellent cocktail bars in Tokyo, I was excited to visit Trunk Bar. It’s a casual setting with counter service. Cocktails are priced fairly high (¥2000+). Cocktails were indeed delicious and music was on point but I didn’t think there was anything particularly unique about this place, especially when compared to SG Club down the street where service and vibe are next level for comprobable pricing.

Best lounge bar we’ve been to in Tokyo. Johnny treated us well. Will come back again definitely, for coffee in the day.

Located at Trunk Hotel's lobby, Trunk Bar is a great place to chill and grab a drink with a friend or a date. Drinks are a bit on the pricier side for its quality but the ambiance and service totally make up for it

I've been there a few times but the last time I went I had a bad experience.. The main reason I gave a one star is due to the Asian woman not sure if she is Japanese but speaks English well (I think she is the chief barista or manager) . I was sitting on one seat and I decided to move seats to charge my phone at another counter. I sat there for a minute but before I had a time to get my belongings from the other seat, that woman came over to me like a freight train from the opposite side of the lounge and pretty much scolded me in front of other customers to say I need to move my stuff over and not use two seats. This hag needs to chill out as she didn't even give me a moment to collect myself. She also needs to learn a little something about being discreet and lower her voice when talking to customers. How she is the floor manager is beyond me and sets a bad example for her junior staff. Shameful and absolutely rude behavior from someone who obviously has a huge ego and is trying to look more important than she is . I will never go back due to that hag.

Great meeting place in Shibuya. Very chill, with pleasant interiors. Drinks are generally good though the staff lack the same warmth you get from the interior.

Yelp
While in town for the Tokyo Marathon I had the opportunity to enjoy some breakfast here and the food was absolutely amazing! I noticed on the other side of this restaurant was an open area with a DJ both and heard that Trunk also provides a nice nightlife experience with good food and drinks. The service was great and if you're in the area or staying at the hotel, you should definitely check it out!

Yelp
Came here for a breakfast with colleagues. Pleasant restaurant attached to a hotel. Staff was very courteous and knew English along with Japanese. The avocado toast was on par with anything from San Francisco or New York (but apparently average to Australians). Latte was pleasant, too; good enough to get a second to start the day. Only soy and regular milk though. Missing my oat milk here but still glad there's an alternative for the lactose intolerant. Everything was delicious; toast had a good balance of salt fat and acid. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
Atmosphere and food were great, the yogurt is delicious! We had struggled finding a place for breakfast that was open before 10am, this was an awesome find.

Yelp
I was staying at the hotel, so I ended up have breakfast here 2 mornings in a row (because day 1 was so good)! They serve a pretty wide range of breakfast and brunch items ranging from French toast and eggs to salads and burritos. First day for breakfast I ordered the yogurt and granola, and the soufflé pancakes which she warned would take about 20 min to come out which was fine for me. The granola came out looking incredibly delicious but covered in nuts (which I am allergic- my own fault for not mentioning!!) She quickly came back with a bowl of yogurt and fruit since the granola could not be made without. Then the pancakes came out and OMG! They were these fluffy, thick, partially underdone but clearly on purpose, delicious kind of pancakes that I've never had before. And oh, a big pile of whipped crepe and ice cream were used in place of syrup. I'd like a New York chef to bring these to one of their restaurants pls!! :) I was wishing I'd saved the berries from my yogurt to eat with the pancakes! So of course I came back the following morning, but I wasn't up for the pancake gluttony two days in a row so I went with the Eggs Benedict. To my surprise (and delight) the eggs and thick cut bacon were served over flaky pastries. Served with a simple side salad, all delicious - the perfect brunch dish! Was wishing I had a 3rd day to keep trying the menu, seemed like I couldn't go wrong with breakfast!
