Yelp
My partner reserved a "living suite" for two nights when we were in Tokyo last week. Very Instagrammable with lofted space and a potted tree in the unit, but very UNLIVABLE for people who stay in the hotel. Here is a list of why the suite for its high price tag NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: The linens were CRISPY (if you actually slept in them, they are noisy and uncomfortable)!! The bottled water was free, but any LOTION or useful item was considered "extra"! The record player worked, but wasn't hooked up to the sound system!!! The mounted projector worked, but doesn't allow for any external input so you can't watch your own media!! The hand soap constantly congealed funny and kept winding up on the walls with each guests' use. The front desk staff were mildly helpful when asked any question. Upon some thought, the "living suite" is best for people who want to throw a lavish party - say a book party or bachelorette party. Why? We got 4 sets of branded TRUNK pajamas neated folded on the one queen bed. The bar and loft are made for entertaining, not "living" in. The bar downstairs was noisy and during the day, the downstairs area is full of people silently staring at their laptops. There is a "chapel" upstairs so weddings are hosted here, probably a better experience than staying in the living suite at TRUNK (Hotel). Next time we're staying elsewhere in Tokyo.

Yelp
The Trunk Hotel is dope! Super stylish and classy, with a nice restaurant, which features outdoor seating next to the courtyard. They also have bicycle rentals, and a really classy looking at lobby area with stylish furniture! I can't wait to go back to the Trunk Hotel next time I'm in Tokyo! Ahhh, I miss Tokyo so much.

Yelp
Eek! I love this hotel. First of all, the room was great, even if the complimentary flip flops didn't fit. I think the little weather notes beside the bed each evening made up for that. Second of all, the location of this hotel is great. The area is very walkable and hip. It was nice to be able to pop in and out of the hotel throughout the day to freshen up if necessary, without having to worry about getting a car or wasting too much time. I think my only complaint is that the hotel can get pretty rowdy, but that isn't always a bad thing! One day, the entire lobby was taken over by a wedding party. Another day, I walked into a rap show. Sometimes you win; sometimes you lose.

Yelp
We stayed at the Trunk hotel twice in the past month, and do highly recommend if you like chic design, lively communal spaces, tasty food and cocktails, warm and professional service, and clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms. The smaller rooms are definitely on the small side, as with any modern hotel in a bustling and popular neighborhood, but the larger rooms with balcony were such a treat! Location was spot on, in the heart of Shibuya, and the onsite restaurant and breakfast were superb! Trunk Hotel staff!

Yelp
My wife loves Instagram. Not Yelp. Boo wife! One good thing about her love of Instagram is she finds all the cool spots I never have time to find. Trunk Hotel is one of them. This hotel is a harbinger of cool design in a city known for it's coolness. As you walk up to it you notice a sleek, low modern vibe that is earthy in a concrete monster city. As you enter the lounge area you feel the vibe of warmth and comfort. Like you want to stay there. Like a baby in the womb. It's that cozy. The bar is a beauty. We stayed for coffee. I had the fizzy black. It's ¥800. It's worth every ¥. It is cold brew mixed with espresso and Shibuya cola. My wife had the gluten free chocolate cookie. We lounged the afternoon away with our snacks. The staff in this place is understated cool. The bartender barista was a cool easy going kind of surfer of girl. She was fun to talk to and amused by everyone who came in. The bartender dude was a gaijin from some latin country and he brought an international vibe to our visit with a great smile and laugh. We didn't stay here. We will. I think Trunk Hotel has replaced the Park Hyatt as my new best Hotel in Tokyo! Plus the location kicks ass over Shinjuku. Just sayin... t

Yelp
My experience at the Trunk hotel was all positive. Upon pulling up to the hotel, the bellman helped take my bags, get me checked in and show me up to my room. Upon check-in, they gave me a welcome t-shirt and sandals! The room was very minimalistic with a small desk, bed on the floor, and a nice clean bathroom. There was even a pair of pajamas folded and sitting at the edge of the bed, and a super comfy robe hanging in the bathroom which I thought was a cool touch. Everywhere I needed to go- meals, shops, tourism, the hotel staff had great recommendations and helped with directions. They led me to great sights and even better sushi dinners!! The location was great for what I wanted to do: shop Harajuku and Shinjuku areas! It was hard for my taxi to find the hotel upon arrival though (we ended up on the backside of the hotel and didn't realize resulting in a few loops around surrounding blocks). The people scene was a very cool younger crowd, the lobby/sitting/bar area was crowded at most hours in the evening with people meeting friends, having drinks, working on laptops or reading.

Yelp
If you're in Tokyo, but don't want to be, and would rather be in San Francisco, or any of the other millennial meccas of the twenty-first century, this is your ticket. You can work on your tablet in the lounge just like at Blue Bottle, and compare travel notes with other rich white people. However, of you're in Tokyo and do want to be there, you'll find the vibe here deeply repulsive.

Yelp
Best service I've ever had at a hotel. Lively and friendly. Knowledgeable staff and unpretentious. Comfortable room and thoughtful design. Would highly recommend.
