Tryp By Wyndham Kassel City Centre

It was a calm and pleasant stay, stylish hotel with very friendly and helpful stuff. We wanted to say a big thanks to a receptionist Bashir for reacting quickly!

It’s in good location close to the train station and about 10 minutes walk to the city centre. But it’s an old hotel, and everything in it is old but the beds are comfortable.

Make sure you get off at the old train station, otherwise it's 6 miles away. Great breakfast

decent hotel, but room was much too warm (in June) and did not cool down during the night. Windows do open and there's a fan but no ac.

We visited Kassel as part of a two week Bavarian road trip. The hotel was reasonably priced and in a fair location around 10-15 mins walk from the closest bars and restaurants. It’s also within easy walking distance of Grimm Welt but you’ll want a tram to the Schloss if you’re site seeing. ||The hotel itself is older than others we stayed in during our trip and the lobby and reception area have real classic charm about them. The rooms are well sized and clean, although could use updating as the decor and fixtures are a little tired in places. Overall the room was spacious and comfortable and the shower was great. ||Reception staff very friendly and helpful, speak superb English and were very patient with our limited German. ||Parking is available immediately outside the hotel for just €3 and under cover for €6.50 a night. A decent breakfast can also be booked for €12.50pp. ||The hotel has a great vibe and is a solid and good value choice if staying in Kassel. We would stay again if returning to the area.

In general it's an old fashion hotel The bad things about it * No AC ! It was really hot and we had just one fan in the room ( a fan like in the 80's), also the window didn't open fully. *The elevator seemed old and also got stuck once, we were afraid to take it *No mini bar, no fridge so forget about cold water. *The corridor looks old and dark (see in photos) The good thing about it *The staff were friendly and helpful, we asked them to put some things in the fridge and they were cool. *The location was good, not far from the centre. *The area is quiet *The hotel lobby has an interesting design and also a pool table.

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago, funky old building (the outlook east), but all the amenities: good bed, large room, great lobby, evening snack included, even a pool table. ||Well it's all gone, the mattress is beat, the bed frame makes noise, the room full of dust. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor and choked all night. They removed the frig from the rooms. There is no air conditioning, the street noise is serious.||||They have closed the lobby, no more evening snack, no place to hang out. The breakfast that was once ample and very good is now white bread, corn flakes and dried out scrambled eggs.||||The reception people are nice but no help, they struggle with any language other than German. $200 a night for what amounts to a dump. Avoid this place you can find better in Kassel for less than half the price.

After several stays in hotels where someone with a centimeter ruler and investment in poured plastic had designed the rooms, it was a pleasure to land here. The room and bathroom were big: two sinks in the bath and a tub! Equally generous is the lobby and breakfast room although, like the room and bath, the lighting could be better. Breakfast was varied with lots of different things, hot and cold, and it is possible also to have a cold dinner. The people were super friendly, even when we came back after midnight and someone had to open the main door and give us our key. Even though the hotel is right in the center of Kassel, it is on a side street so it is quiet at night.
