I’m always looking for new plant based cafés to explore, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this one is completely vegan after I had already settled in. The atmosphere immediately stood out, calm, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. There are beautiful plants everywhere and a simple, minimal interior that feels both welcoming and inspiring. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend a quiet morning reading or catch up with a friend over coffee. I ordered an oat latte, and it was perfectly balanced, creamy, smooth, and not too sweet. Alongside it, I tried the buckwheat chocolate cookie that was crunchy on the edges and soft in the middle with a deep chocolate flavor that paired nicely with the coffee. Everything about the experience felt intentional, from the way the space is curated to the quality of the ingredients. It’s always exciting to find a vegan spot that focuses on flavor and comfort without being overly complicated. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to anyone who enjoys good food and good vibes.

Tsuchi is a gem serving authentic Japanese food and drinks that are all plant based! I loved the Hojicha latte with oat milk and no sweetener - had it hot and it was delicious, earthy, nutty, smooth with smoky sweet notes. It also has low caffeine compared to matcha. I had an iced Matcha latte on another day and it was just okay…I was expecting a stronger taste of the matcha because they sell a god quality one as well but it was quite mild. The green tea pistachio tart was so creamy and not too sweet but I couldn’t finish the entire thing in one sitting. Their miso soup was small but divine with vegetables and very flavourful. Would love to try their ramen next time. Or some of the other food items like the miso bread pudding. Was also pleasantly surprised to see that they carry Hitachino Nest beers which I had in Tokyo and it was one of the best beers I’ve had - but found that it was quite pricey per beer. The vibe is cozy. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon and got quite noisy when there was a group sitting at a table otherwise people were pretty quiet. There is a small seating area inside, but there is additional seating to enjoy outside. I was able to a get a table inside, however, they have a sign that they don’t allow the use of laptops on the weekends so that the tables can be made available quicker which was a bit different but understandable since it’s so busy with limited seating. When I came by on a Tuesday afternoon it was so quiet so I will probably come on a weekday next time since it’ll be quiet and can work a bit if needed. Either way will definitely be enjoying Tsuchi’s vibe and offerings again!

This place has amazed me ever since I discovered their pop-up at the 2024 Taste of Italy festival. Everything I've ordered from here has been stellar, with the exception of the Hot Coco which I found to taste rather artificial. The desserts are unique and taste remarkably fresh, as if they were made minutes earlier. Definitely something worth trying here. The Japanese decor interior is charming, but I feel the seating arrangements could be designed a bit more orderly. The bench against the front window is diagonal to the adjacent wall (rather than perpendicular), and positions the person seated in the corner at an angle from the space in front of them, which can feel a bit awkward for them and anyone they might be seated opposite from. Overall, this place is a plant-based gem that I'll always be glad to visit in future.

This was one of my favorite places to try and not that hard to get to on bus! The service was super nice and I splurged on so many vegan goods from their shop. I loved the curry bun, ramen, and tiramisu!

Google
The food was okay, just not quite as tempting as it looked in the photos. I really like the café’s concept, from the menu and decor are great ideas, but the execution could be better. Serving food in to-go cups and dishes makes it feel a bit less special, and the place could use a bit more care with cleanliness, especially the floor and walls. It’s a lovely spot that just needs a little more attention to shine.

We stopped by Tsuchi Cafe and ordered both the cold and hot hojicha latte. The hot one was definitely our favorite - rich, smooth, and full of flavor. The silky flan was also excellent, perfectly creamy and not too sweet. A friendly surprise came from the table next to us - the guy was having a pistachio matcha tart and mentioned it’s only available on weekends. We couldn’t resist ordering it, and wow… it was amazing! Definitely worth coming back for!

Google
The tarts and latte at Tsuchi Cafe were good. The Matcha Latte was smooth but felt the matcha taste was diluted. The Green Tea Pistachio Tart was awesome. The green tea pistachio was smooth, refreshing, light and not too sweet. The crust on the tart was delicious. The Kiwi Tart was good. The cream was fresh and light. The kiwi was good.

I know that I just got here, but this is my favorite cafe in Toronto by far. And it's also the first one I tried too, so I'm definitely starting on a high note. They had alot of things to choose from: various coffees and teas, pastries and other goodies in the glass, along with vegan entrees too. I just wanted to try their Iced Hojicha Latte + oat milk, and I couldn't help but find the Matcha Tiramisu. It caught my eye and I before I knew it, I took one to go. There wasn't much seating in this cafe but I managed to find a table for myself a couple minutes after getting my order. My Hojicha latte was perfect. It was earthy, nutty, and had the perfect level of sweetness. The hojicha and creaminess from the oat milk paired together very well. And the Matcha Tiramisu? Wow. It felt like deconstructed Matcha Tiramisu which I still love. The mascarpone cream was rich, light, and tasted so good with the matcha dipped lady fingers. The lady fingers had an interesting texture to me. It wasn't as soft as I'd expected, maybe it disintegrated a little because of the heat. I refrigerated it after right after I got home, but maybe the heat still got to it. It was still delicious to me. It was nice to feel reminiscent of my time in Japan. I loved it all and had a great time. Service was excellent, the cashier was friendly and easy going. Next time I'll have to come back and try their vegan food. Tsuchi Cafe deserves all the stars and all the love. I'm a big fan! And I look forward to my next visit :)

Yelp
This place is my new obsession. I love vegan food as much as Japanese food and this was like being back in Japan. The dessert options they have are gluten free, very flavourful, and not too sweet. I ordered their tsuchi set meal which came with your choice of onigiri, ramen, impossible meat katsu, potato salad, and cold side veg. Just eating thế food made me so happy. And their toilets are so clean. One thing I missed about Japan was the toilet so I was really happy that they have electronic bidets. Thế staff is very friendly and polite, I expected nothing less. Thế cafe also has a cute mini store where you can get matcha, tea accessories, and merchandise. I'm coming back to try their other desserts and menu items - I want to try EVErYThINg

Yelp
Matcha, hojicha and their miso caramel macchiato is so good here! Their matcha is a vibrant green, and they use oat milk by default. You can also sub it out for soy milk if you'd like. They don't put too much sugar which is perfect for my taste. Their miso caramel macchiato has green strong coffee flavours. Their storefront is really cute as well. Service is good and staff was helpful and friendly. But space and an adequate amount of seating.

Yelp
Stopped into this Japanese Vegan cafe and it did not disappoint. There's a decent amount of seating inside and the music isn't loud. I wanted to try their drinks but had already gotten coffee earlier. I ended getting lunch instead. 12 spiced "beef" curry and rice with add on of 2 pieces "karaage" - the beef curry was very good as the spices were very flavorful. The pickled onions had a little spicy in addition to its tartness. I also added the karaage which was crispy but with this protein, you can tell it was impossible meat compared to the impossible beef. They also use Japanese rice so it was soft and fluffy.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try out this place after seeing it packed a couple times I walked by. Their menu consists of vegan food savoury and sweet. The interior is quite minimalist and very simple. There are only small tables for 2 people, so not recommend for large parties. Karaage - Vegan karaage had a similar texture to chicken nuggets. They were large pieces, but pretty heavy. First bite was interesting, but it was difficult to finish the dish even with two people. Nice to try, but wouldn't get again. Strawberry cheesecake tart - Tart shell was interesting, probably was because it was gluten free. Thicker parts of the crust had better texture. Then there was a small layer of strawberry whipped cream and strawberry jam. The flavour was very subtle, but when adjusted the flavour was very good. Would get again. Miso caramel macchiato - A bit too sweet for my taste. It was overpowering the miso flavour and the bitterness of the caramel. Would not recommend. Interesting concept, and you pay a premium for a good product. Might come again, but only for the cake.

Yelp
I think we got the beef curry croquettes--it was so good!!! Love the texture of the bread and the filling was also very flavorful. Think there could've been more though. Would love to try the matcha next time!

Yelp
We were here to grab some sweets. The interior was impressively simple yet stylish, unfussy and natural, which I expect in good Japanese café. Humble elegance. And the same is true for their cakes! #Strawberry Mille Feuille: Loved it. Layered with super thin pastry, delicately flaky and buttery. The custard was smooth, strawberries were very fresh! Highly recommend! #Mmm.. Matcha Tiramisu: Cream & mascarpone were light in the mouth. Right amount of Matcha flavor, distinct, but not overwhelming. The matcha soaked biscuit was probably gluten free, so it had a bit different from regular lady-finger. A bit crumby, but I liked the unique texture somehow. Better to consume right away, as it gets soggy as time passes. #Yuzu Citron Tart: The citrus yuzu filling was not custard, but more like Jelly-ish, giving it a firm yet yielding texture. The taste was lighter and more refreshing than common heavy/starchy custard filling. But the cake had full burst of citrus/yuzu flavor. The crust was gluten free, so it was soft, not crunchy, yet buttery and flavorful. I will come back for sure for more of their delicate sweets. :)

Yelp
The matcha tiramisu is horrible. It tastes soggy, stale and over kept. The bread taste like grainy wet sand in my mouth and the matcha taste is barely present. The only benefit I got from ordering this desert was getting a cute cup. Furthermore, the "silky vanilla flan" also tastes soggy and wet. There is barely any flavor and it tastes like a washed out rag.

Yelp
Quite a lovely place with limited seating but very nice aesthetic, ambiance, and lighting okay. Seems like they didn't have much savory items when we went later afternoon. The quality of the coffee was a nice medium roast, if you like philz ecstasy it's that sort of flavor with a hint of salted caramel like miso. The old fashioned donut was a pleasant surprise, instead of a typical glaze/dough the icing is sort of caramelized on? But quite sweet. Overall, lovely place, would come again but very limited seating with like 3 single person tables so not the best study spot

Yelp
Tsuchi Cafe was a highlight of my Toronto visit. It's stylish and trendy (as evidenced by the name-dropping filmmaker seated next to us). There's limited seating, but a table opened up right about the time we got our food. The karaage was delicious, and the texture was good. I loved the cold noodle dish, the day's special. Veggies and noodles with a light yet flavorful sauce. The "beef" curry with rice was also rich and tasty. My husband claimed that for himself after one bite. We had ginger sodas to drink--no coffee or tea. But if we return to Toronto this will be at the top of our list to revisit, so we'll plan for coffee then.

Yelp
Really cute and aesthetic Japanese cafe! Beautiful furniture and decor. Service is kind and quick. For vegan desserts, I thought the silky flan and matcha cheesecake were pretty damn good and I'm not vegan or vegetarian. The flan was as described, silky with a plant based milk flavor. Hojicha could have been stronger for me. The matcha cheesecake had layers of whipped cream, matcha cheesecake, red bean, and cocoa crust. The crust was delicious and so was the cream - couldn't tell it was dairy free. I just wished there was a thicker red bean layer, I could barely taste it. Overall worth a try if you like Japanese desserts!

Yelp
My friend took me to this cafe, as he said that he enjoyed the drinks and food items on numerous occasions. He is a vegetarian, so he was very happy to have discovered a plant-based cafe focusing on Japanese food and drinks. He could not wait to show me this cafe and I was excited to discover a new cafe in my city! The cafe was small yet cozy, the wood panels and shades of brown evoked a relaxing vibe. The place was full of people drinking, eating and chatting, although it was only 11:30am on a Saturday morning. He decided to get a Katsu sandwich (shokupan bread, Japanese mustard, "chicken" cutlet, shredded cabbage, and a sweet katsu sauce). He also got a small Matcha Latte (with soy milk) for me. He said that the Katsu sandwich was good. However, he felt that there could have been more "chicken" cutlet pieces and more veggies inside, to match with the price point. I also agreed that while my Matcha Latte with soy milk was good, as it was made with soy milk, the latte was not as rich as I would have liked. It tasted a bit watery, like a diluted latte. The quality of matcha was great, as I could taste a light bitterness in the drink. Overall, we would give this place four out of five stars. Quality food and drinks, friendly service, and relaxing vibe. A unique cafe on College Street West area, where one can relax and enjoy drinking and/or eating.

Yelp
it was packed when i went in the afternoon, i'll definitely have to visit earlier to get another spot to sit great vegan treats, had both strawberry and kabocha caramel cheesecakes (yummy!) had the taro miso and karaage onigiri (i saved the mushroom one for later) both really good pretty indoors, plants on the wall and things being sold on the sides, pretty

Yelp
Tsuchi Cafe is quaint and elegant, both in their food and their decor/space. Stopped by for a post-dinner treat, and we got the signature tiramisu and autumn fig tart. The tiramisu was soooo good: super moist, good balance of cake and "cream" (it's dairy free), not overly sweet. The fig tart was pretty good: the cream cheese whip was so smooth, but the fig jam was a bit too sweet for me and would have liked the tart shell to be a bit nuttier. My wife who lived in Japan for a year is absolutely head over heels for this place, and says the food and vibe reminds her of her time there. So stop by Tsuchi if you want a taste of Japan.

Yelp
I've popped by before for hot drinks in the winter but I'm glad I finally was able to come sit down for the cafe and actual food. It's a small shop but everything is of quality. They have a good selection of food, pastries, drinks and even take home/ out items. Everything is vegan friendly. Ordered the katsu sando, curry bowl, matcha tiramisu, and melon pan. I'm pleasantly surprised with their mock meats because the texture is there (sometimes vegan places don't do this well). Flavours are also there which really help round it out. I love their tiramisu and soy whip because to me, it tastes cleaner and not as heavy as I usually feel after traditional tiramisu. It did get busy when I went, but service was not slow given the customer: employee ratio. Also love the whole aesthetic of the cafe, even the washrooms are so nice (they have bidets!)

Yelp
This place was so good its crazy! I found this place from a youtube video and am so glad i went! The beef curry was so good i can't wait to go back just to eat this. Such a small place but the vibes were definitely there. I think its by a college it was people in there doing work so a great place to work out of for a few hours. Staff was super friendly!

Yelp
This is a Japanese plant based café. They serve drinks, sweets, as well as several hot food items. I got the Matcha Latte ($6.95), Kokuto Mocha ($6.75) and Tiramisu (~$9). Pros: + The drinks have a nice flavor - not too strong and not too sweet. + The tiramisu is pretty decent although it's very dense. + Good and friendly service. Cons: - Limited seating available. - Interior isn't that clean.

Yelp
A chic Japanese cafe to check out in downtown Toronto! Friendly staffs with excellent service. First time here and ordered Kokoa Latte, not so sweet which fits my taste. The cafe also has unique Japanese retail products in their fridge. Will definitely revisit for other coffee and try their dessert! Side note: Music was also amazing!

Yelp
Japanese cafe featuring classic Japanese bites and more. You'll find curry buns (karepan), cheesecakes with strawberry and matcha, yuzu tarts, cakes and pastries as well as classics such as Katsu sandwich, karaage and curry rice. The matcha and hojicha are high quality and very popular, definitely try those hot or cold. Do not skip this even if you're not plant based or vegan.

Yelp
Plant based foods have come a long way. Perhaps, one thing maybe we should try to do is... not replace the existing foods we know. When you say Chicken Kara'age, I think of crisply and juicy little fried goodness. When you say Cheesecake, I'm thinking decadence on the tip of my tongue with smooth silky sweet goodness... oh.. sorry... break time.. I need to get me a slice right now! LOL! When you say beef curry, I'm thinking rich, deep flavours, and spices... I'm still hungry! Lord these reviews get harder to write without snacking! So my mind is set and biased when I try new vegan/plant based places. My expectations are so high that it can't be met. There is no cloning the food with plants! OK.. I said it... now let all the plant-people send in their Vegan Friendly Comments to me! :D I'm still not there. I have tried vegan and vegetarian foods. When I have straight up vegan food not pretending to be a ham sandwich, I really love it. I have no expectations and let the flavours fly... and they can be so amazing! Now to the review. I heard the buzz about TsuChi Cafe and a friend wanted to try the place. Happened to be in the right place at the right time so off we went to have a taste. TsuChi Cafe is at the far west end of Little Italy - which is rapidly becoming Grand Multicultural Restaurant Station! Lots of wood accents in this small restaurant and I like their signage inside. Drinks, snacks, meals... all so good and tasty looking, but a little pricey. Then again, plant based is so shi-shi trendy, prices are in line. BY THE WAY... Big Reveal on the Way! Settled on some take out food. Don't get picky with me here... I don't quite remember everything. The order was Beef Curry and Rice, Kara'age Sandwich, Hojicha Cheesecake... and I think it was TsuChi donut day so had to try it - got a miso glaze donut. Found a place to sit and dine outside - thank the lord it was warm and sunny day. Took out the spread and tried the food. I found the Karaage dense and not quite all there. The bread was soooo good though! Carbs make me happy! The beef curry was ok. The beef bits looked like the ground beef was dried up and no amount of simmering will bring it back. Flavours were muted and I thought the consistency of the curry was off. The cheesecake was missing some sweetness and richness and the dollop of cream was turning into water - hmmm. WTH? AND the donut - well... it didn't even get a picture posted here. Meh. SO WHY THE 4-STARS!?! After discussing the food with my friend. She chuckled... and said... you know this is all Plant Based. right? BOOM... Shock... and... Awe... !!! I thought I heard it was but it slipped the leaky mind of mine! So we got all things Vegan!?! Though not a big thing for some of you... this was a Big Reveal for me! Paint on dumb-founded look here... LOL!. Ok.. back to my point. Trying to satisfy my cave-man needs for meats, it's not going to work dressing up plants to look like it. So... after re-evaluating the shortfalls of the food, AND now knowing what they tried to create including the dollop of cream on the cheesecake, my admiration for the food upped the score. Upped far enough to tell everyone that wants to try plant-based foods, that this place is worth giving a go. BUT still not enough for me to make it a must go place for me. 3.5 Stars - rounded up to 4 (because yelp can't do 0.5's LOL) Cheers!

Yelp
2 of my friends are vegan so we made sure to visit on our trip to Toronto. We came by around 11am on a Saturday and there were still open tables even though this cafe is small. The curry rice with karaage, bento box with karaage, and matcha tiramisu were amazing!! The curry was rich and well seasoned and the karaage tasted super similar to chicken, with a similar texture as well. The matcha tiramisu had a strong matcha flavor and wasn't too sweet or too creamy which we loved! We weren't amazed by the drinks we got (miso caramel latte, matcha latte) or by the custard bun, pistachio beignet, or sandwiches. The drinks were just okay and the bun, beignet, and sandwiches were a bit too dry.

Yelp
We spent a few nights in Toronto and visited a variety of cafes during our time there--this was one of our favorite spots and we'd 100% go back again if we had the chance! Tsuchi Cafe is a Japanese cafe with high quality pastries and drinks. We ordered a fig pastry and lattes, one of which was a miso caramel latte. The latte was super rich, and the miso caramel was also a super interesting flavor! The miso flavor was extremely subtle but added a lot more depth to the flavor of the caramel drink. The fig cake was also extremely delicious and paired really well with the coffee. The interior of the cafe is designed to be very modern and clean while still being inspired by Japanese design choices. Overall, it was a great place to not only stop by for a quick pick-me-up, but also a place to have great conversation, food+drink, and a wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend!

Yelp
One of my favourite cafes in Toronto! This was my first time visiting this café and I loved it. Interior 10/10 : it's filled with beautiful plants and gives a rustic feel with how almost everything there is made of wood. Food 9/10: I tried their matcha latte which came with lactose-free milk. It was refreshing and well balanced. My friend and I got a dessert too but we weren't a big fan of it. Service 10/10: the staff were friendly and attended to my order efficiently. They give compostable cutlery too.

Yelp
Some really great things, and some room for improvement - hence a 3. They had such amazing sounding drinks!! But I only drink decaf, and they don't make decaf coffee, so I could only have decaf tea or their chocolate drink. I got an iced chocolate, but I found the taste very mild. It mostly tasted like oat milk (which is my milk of choice), and I couldn't taste the chocolate at all. They have paper straws and mine immediately started disintegrating. I got an egg sandwich, and just felt like it was missing a certain something - a lemon note? mayo taste? pepper? no idea. Just something was left to be desired. I absolutely appreciated the ramp into the space, but the door doesn't have an automatic opening button, so once at the door (which pulls out), you can't get in. Same with the ramp to the patio - appreciated, but it was placed dead centre in front of a bike locking pole. The space is beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and nice. The washrooms were wonderful and clean. I would hope to try it again in the future while they work on small improvements.

Yelp
Teriyaki 'Chicken' Karaage sandwich - interesting chicken-like density & texture, and I could taste the soy marinade too. Bread was soft, pillowy, and easy to handle as a sandwich. 12 spice 'Beef' Curry - needed more ingredients for sustenance, but the side pickled veggies and finely shredded cabbage were a nice touch. Hojicha Baked 'Cheese'cake - was dense and didn't taste like hojicha in particular...was more of a mild barely tofu-ey taste. The only distinguishable taste was the coconut whip cream and sesame cracker on top. Vegan Miso Caramel Donut - Thursdays are the only days they make their donuts so check it out! It's like a cake doughnut and extremely fried. It tasted like fried dough with some caramel/sugary icing on top... I couldn't taste the miso. It had some fun texture from the granola sprinkled on top though!

Irene K.

Yelp
Cute cafe with both drinks, baked goods, and meal foods. Interesting flavours for drinks like Miso Caramel Macchiato which surprisingly taste good! Would definitely go again!

Yelp
Best. Plant-based. Desserts. Ever! You can't tell it's plant-based! Tsuchi got my attention as it gives reminisce of a Japanese storefront with wooden exterior, clean and minimalistic interior and an alluring aroma of green tea/matcha. The food: Tsuchi offers a variety of desserts, ranging from tiramisu in a jar, cookies, cake slices to swiss rolls and pies. Their rotation switches up monthly (I believe is still the case) which allows you to try fruits and products that are in season (a very sustainable approach!). My favourite from Tsuchi are: kurogama (black sesame) cheesecake, vanilla bean cheesecake and black sesame brownies. Tsuchi's savoury offerings such as curry bowls, karepan and karaage are also must-try! This will always be my favourite spot for a quick pick-me-up as well as a sit-down/leisure hang.

Yelp
Tsuchi Cafe is located along College Street right in the heart of Little Italy. This new Japanese cafe/bakery for Japanese comfort food/desserts is by the same owners of Kingyo in Cabbagetown. The unique concept behind this Tsuchi is that all their offerings are completely plant based. They recently opened where you can buy a variety of food items from them including desserts (tarts, tiramisus), condiments, granola, as well as prepacked items ramen, noodles (egg free!), curry, and mapo tofu which are all plant based. I stopped by Tsuchi Cafe on a Tuesday midday to pick up a few items I ordered online from their website. They currently are doing a soft opening. The exterior and interior of the cafe is very zen like and calming with several plants near the window. I picked up my order fairly quickly and the staff also offered me a complimentary hojicha tea which I enjoyed (despite burning my tongue!) in the cold weather. These are the items I purchased: - Hojicha cheesecake - HARU's signature tiramisu - Matcha tiramisu - Roasted garlic miso ramen - 12 Spice Beyond curry - Yuzu pepper pesto I've already had the roasted garlic miso ramen (comes with egg free noodles, miso broth, and "meat") as well as the hojicha cheesecake (dairy and egg free!). Both were delicious despite them being plant based. The matcha tiramisu was also light and airy! Not too sweet but you could taste the matcha flavour (along with the soy milk whipped cream). I am excited to try the rest of the items I purchased and believe that the will be delicious as well. Overall, go check out Tsuchi Cafe if you can! Definitely a unique concept for a Japanese cafe. Staff were super friendly as well.

Yelp
It's always a pleasure coming into this cafe. Not only are the staff extremely welcoming; their desserts are to die for! (I kid you not, I dream about this place from time to time because their vegan pastries are so delicious) - 1. Muscat Tart ($10.2 CAD) This is their 'weekly' special- a gluten free friendly almond cake with cream, grapes and blueberries(for decoration purposes, given there were only 2 of them). The whipped cream was not too sweet, airy, smooth & paired well with the crisp grapes and tart shell. 2. Strawberry Sakura Cheesecake ($8.4 CAD) What better way to celebrate cherry blossom season than with their 'monthly special'? Cheese cake with strawberry (compote I'm assuming) on the bottom, and cream & a Sakura flower on top. A part of me wished the cheesecake had a little more cherry blossom flavor in each bite but nevertheless, I still enjoyed it.

PLANT-BASED CAFE IN TORONTO!! I visited toronto for like 2 days but I've seen this on other foodies' pages so I needed to go! It was pretty crowded but we managed to get a seat near the windows! They have a good selection of cakes and food! The drinks are also all yummy sounding. I love Japanese flavours hahah. Their baked goods are also extensive! I especially loved the karepan, it was like REAL curry bread with meat wow. The cookie was a little more on the dry end.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now for Sourdough Shokupan loaf. Unfortunately, the 2nd time I bought it, I didn't realize they burnt the bottom of the loaf for this batch. Of course, I only knew when I got home to slice the loaf. Honestly, half the bottom was burnt. The main loaf was still delicious. Also tried their dark chocolate swirl cake. It was a good chocolate treat without it being too sweet. Friendly staff throughout, even when they were training.

Yelp
Japanese deserts but make it vegan 1. Signature Tiramisu (Flour, organic sunflower oil, soy milk, silk tofu, coconut oil, vanilla, Hatch bean espresso, cocoa powder) 2. Hojicha Cheesecake (Gluten-free cocoa crust and Hojicha filling- Organic cane sugar, raw cashews, coconut cream, pea milk, coconuts yogurt, Hojicha powder, Hojicha tea) Even though the cheesecake (not pictured) was amazing, my favorite was the tiramisu. It had a light "creaminess" to it and a fragrant coffee aroma. I devoured the jar pretty fast. I also liked that the cheesecake wasn't as rich as regular cheesecake, it made it easier to scarf down. And to top it off, I couldn't believe they were both vegan/dairy-free! Lactose-sensitive and vegans rejoice! We called to let them know that we might be there right at closing and they kindly set our order aside for us (we got there 4 mins after closing), when many places I know would have closed up shop already. Thanks for a great experience; we'll sure be back!

Yelp
Tsuchi Cafe Located in Toronto This spot serves Japanese plant base goodies! From soups, sauces, breads and of course desserts. We found this place while shopping at a local garden centre, the minimalist wooden aesthetic is what bought our attention. Looking in, we saw slices of cakes on their display and yes we went in! Their interior feels very zen and the staff were super friendly. We ordered the Mango Cheesecake, Hojicha Cheesecake, Merry Strawberry & Coco Lover Cube. We enjoyed both cheesecakes as they were super smooth and rich. The Merry Strawberry was delicious, the sponge base was moist with a light cream topped with fresh strawberries The Coco Cube Lover... probably one of the best chocolate cakes we've ever had. Hands down. Super rich, decadent, not too sweet, smooth... our mouths are watering writing this We can't wait for Coco Lover to come back!! This cafe is really making us question, How is this plant base!?! 8.5/10 . . . Mango Cheesecake - $7.80 (pricy) Hojicha Cheesecake - $7.80 (pricy) Merry Strawberry - $8.80 (pricy) Coco Lover cube - $9.30 (pricy)

Yelp
What a delightful surprise! I was walking home with my tween when we saw a new, modern, clean looking Japanese café. Went in to try a rich matcha cheesecake, and ImmuniTEA drink. My girl had a karapan (curry bread), and enjoyed it! I'd love to go back to try something savoury. Prices are on the $$ side, but the quality was there. Music was chill, relaxing. I've looked at their website a few times since getting back.

Yelp
Delicious Japanese plant focused food in a beautifully decorated cafe! I was most impressed by the Curry with "Karaage". The flavors of the curry were delicious and the texture of the karaage was perfect - with a crispy outer layer and amazing flavorful inside. Their shokupan was fluffy and soft on the inside, despite being toasted on the inside! There's no surprise why they sell out so fast on Fridays. Lastly the Vanilla Flan and Tantan Ramen were well done considering it was made without egg and flan. The flavors were maintained yet the textures were a bit different from usual. Overall definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
We visited Tsuchi on college today, it's a new japanese cafe with plant based desserts and food). We got the Matcha tiramisu and hojicha cheesecake and They were both so tasty!! I've not had anything like this here and it's really much more what we'd expect to get in Japan. So many fresh and well thought out flavours in each of these, I highly recommend a visit! You will love these if you're a fan of Asian desserts with a unique and sweet twist!

Yelp
While out for a walk I discovered this new plant-based, Japanese-inspired cafe. They feature a number Japanese-inspired sweets & a small collection of hot foods. Located on the north side of the street between Montrose & Beatrice the place has a few seats in front that face onto College Street. The service counter is located at the back with a lovely display of Japanese-inspired sweets. They offer all that you want to find in a cafe & a small section of prepared & hot foods. It is nice to see places like this in the neighbourhood offering a different take on plant-based foods. The service was quick, attentive & polite making it a welcome addition to the plant-based food scene in Toronto.

Yelp
Very well-designed location with lots of unique vegan/dairy-free options! High quality design, from the outdoor seating area to the bathrooms. Great service as well. Worth the drive from outside the city! A good meeting spot as well. With friends I've also tried the Matcha Tiramisu, cookies, spritz drinks and more. All quality.

Yelp
Cute vegan Japanese cafe owned by Kingyo. Was looking forward to dining in but it's not available currently, had to buy take out or sit in the patio but it was raining that day :( I really enjoyed the curry corn open sando but the wakame rice ball had some sort of floral taste to it that we didn't enjoy. It might've been perilla leaf bits? We also bought their pistachio short bread cookies and they had good pistachio flavour but the texture was harder than expected. I would drop by again next time I'm in the area as they have some good quality stuff here!

Yelp
Cute Japanese cafe serving plant based items on their menu. Tried the Silky Vanilla Flan and the Merry Merry Strawberry. Both were delicious but I especially loved the strawberry pastry!

Yelp
The food here is unique for vegans. And it also happens to be soooo goooood! It ties with Eat Nabati with the food I crave in the city. The cheesecakes flavours you won't find anywhere else in Ontario (Canada??) The Karaage is divine. They do a mouth wateringly real quiche. I will keep coming back and coming back.

Went in for the weekend mabo tofu special. Was really tasty! Their sandwiches are also very good.

Yelp
Was slightly disappointed considering my high expectations. The savoury items are much better than the sweet items, as I found all of their sweet items almost to the point of being sickly sweet. The walnut hojicha cookie (2/5) had a chewy oat texture which I was not expecting. I think it would've worked better if the texture was like a regular cookie. The hojicha doughnut (1.5/5) was a cake doughnut but it was dry and lacked hojicha flavour. The pistachio icebox cookies (2/5) was reminiscent of shortbread and had a slight pistachio flavour. The beef curry was (4.5/5) flavourful, but I could use more curry and less rice. The karaage sandwich (3.5/5) wasn't bad, but I prefer my bread more toasted and with more sauce. The karaage was juicy and flavourful and I also enjoyed the egg salad. The components worked well together and the sandwich was pretty tasty.

Yelp
These guys have managed to bring authentic Japanese taste to vegetarian based food. It's supremely impressive. Most of all, and I can't understate this enough, is that there is no thinking "this would be better if it had some milk/meat in it". I don't personally care much either way about vegan vs. meat as long as the food is good. It's very good. The standout items are the curry which is totally as if I was in Kichijoji. The other item which I think the chef deserves a Michelin star for is the matcha cake. There is one aspect to this cake that I have never experienced before and I'm not sure if this is their invention alone, but it's the inclusion of the sprig of rosemary on top of the cake. I have never tasted a more sympathetic combination of flavours and it reminds me of eating certain combinations out of the garden as a kid. Reasonably priced, good service, great decor and it fooled my neanderthal meat eating friend into thinking there was meat in the curry ;) What more can you want!
