If you haven’t checked this place out, do it!!! The birria tacos are amazing! The Mexican burrito I ordered with ground beef and has some of the best verde sauce and cheese sauce I’ve ever tasted! My husband said the street tacos compare to some of the best he’s had. Tu Familia is on north 90th. And free chips and salsa to start! Check this place out!

We come with friends and this time had mango margaritas and espresso martini was a nice surprise.

Have been here twice now for late lunches and came away very impressed both times. The Birria Tacos are really great and the Chile Colorado was delicious both times. I have added this place to my regular rotation for great Mexican food is Northwest Omaha.

Went in a group of 6 for dinner after beerfest. Most of the people in our group enjoyed what they got for the most part. My friend that got the Dicada loved it. There was a lot of fat on the carne asada but we cut it off and the rest was fine. The sauce on the tamales was really sweet, which we weren't expecting - didn't love that. We ran out of salsa for the chips and salsa a few times because it's a small amount of thin salsa for the basket of chips but the flavor was nice. The waitress was kind and the food was okay, fairly inexpensive which is the main reason we went. I wouldn't go out of my way to go again but if I was in the area and someone else in the group wanted to go, I wouldn't throw a fit.

Our family loves going to Tu Familia! Their food and drinks are amazing! The staff are attentive and very welcoming from right when you walk in the door. We frequent here often and have eaten a lot of things from the menu but I would say our favorites so far are the birria, the steak fajitas, the red tacos, the carne asada and my son loves the tu familia burger. We like to try something different each time we go and everything we have had has been amazing! The food is fresh and has so much flavor. And we love the chips and salsa that you get with your meal. They have such a wonderful selection that will please everyone no matter what you’re hungry for. Everything is so good and you won’t be disappointed. And I will add that their margaritas are so big and so flavorful! I’ve had the frozen strawberry many times and wow! They are yummy and the glasses they come in are so fun! The horchata is also very yummy! Our boys get that everytime. We love this place and everyone should go check it out!

First time. Excellent! It was delicious! The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable and the restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend for delicious Mexican food. The salsa had just the right amount of spice and kick. Lots of vegetables and steak in the fajita. Yum!

I discovered this little gem a couple months ago and I’ve gone several times since. The food is always good and fresh. They have great specials. The margaritas are elite! They also have so many different flavors. The service is also always amazing. They’re very nice and accommodating. I actually really like this place a lot.

I’m a KY resident but I have eaten at Mexican restaurants in multiple states and regions of the U.S. over the past few decades. I’m not a connoisseur by any means and can be a bit picky about what I eat. So keep that in mind. The tortilla chips that come with the salsa are really good. They’re not hard or stale-like. They don’t have much salt and I would prefer more, but that would not be preferable for those with health issues that need to limit their salt intake. So I give the tortilla chips an A+ and the salsa is one of my favorites in regard to both texture and flavor. I don’t care for hot spices. This salsa has a little spice to it and I love it. It wasn’t so much that it burned my mouth, but there was enough heat for flavor and a little kick to the taste buds. I call it the perfect amount. The Quesa Birria that I ordered was the flour tortilla version. The tortilla was crisp. The meat had great flavor. The cheese was plentiful and had a lot of flavor. The portion was more than enough for me. The staff were very friendly. I definitely recommend trying their food here. And if you’ve never experienced Quesa Birrira then you should definitely make a point to try it.

We have lived relatively close to this place for several years now and FINALLY made it in. If you're able to, please give it a shot! The place is very large and open, so you don't feel like you're walking on top of others and can have conversations without feeling like you need to yell to be heard or whisper to not be overheard. Their chips and salsa were delicious. Salsa is house made and the chips are fried to order. You get a first basket for free, but the second we had to pay for- be aware. Their tacos are amazing. I had three street tacos and then two basic hard and soft tacos. I started with the basics, and was very impressed. The meat was nice and flavorful and somehow seemed....soft? I was initially bummed looking at them because I thought "just lettuce and meat?" But there's some fantastic cheese hidden under the lettuce. The shells were the perfect soft and a crunch. I would love to just have a few of these for the meal and be good! I had the three street tacos- steak, pastor, and carnitas. I was pleased with all three! They were flavorful, moist, and the shells were once again perfect. I very much enjoyed the steak and they had just the right amount of crisp with all of the flavor. You can tell that all of these were made fresh to order. Their house margs were wonderful. They weren't too sweet and you got more than you imagined. When we got the bill, it's noted that there's a discount if you pay with cash, but no added fee for paying with a card; so keep that in mind.

Such a hidden gem! I wasn't sure what to expect given the location, it's in a strip mall in a less frequented area. We walked in and the decor was bright, cheery, and fun. I loved the colorful paper banners and the paintings. We went at about 5 pm on a Saturday and were seated quickly. By 6:30 when we left, it was starting to fill in and there were a couple big parties so we left at the right time. The menu was pretty extensive, lots of different offerings. We were given complimentary chips and salsa, then our waitress offered more but didn't tell us it was $2 for a refill. Not a huge price, but we weren't told it was extra. I got a frozen classic margarita and my husband got a classic on the rocks. One and done! It was strong, your basic pre-mix flavor, and I loved the glasses! There was another drink on the menu called a cantarita (similar to a Paloma), which I can't wait to try sometime. I ordered the birria tacos and they were so good! The shell had a light crunch, the cheese was perfectly proportioned and melted, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the broth had the perfect amount of season, onion, and cilantro without being too overpowering. Everything was SO filling, between the drink, chips and salsa, I had to take one of the tacos to go. The salsa is made in house from fresh ingredients but the chips and tortillas aren't. She said they get the dough and it's cut up prior to making the tacos. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful, but the service was a little slow even though it wasn't too busy most of the time we were there. We didn't mind because we had time, but something to consider if you're in a hurry. Authenticity was 6/10 based on the overall vibes, music, taste of the food, but it was a bummer the tortillas weren't fresh made and the margarita was pre-mix.

We visited Tu Familia for the first time for my grandma's birthday dinner. The space itself is fun and colorful, and there is plenty of parking. Our server was fantastic, and we received our food quickly. I had a traditional lime margarita, and it was perfect. I also really enjoyed my quesa-birria quesadilla. It was loaded with flavorful meat and tons of cheese. They brought out fried ice cream and sang to my grandma while she was wearing a sombrero, which was too funny. I will be back if I'm in the area!

We have been trying to get into this restaurant to give it a try, but it's always busy. I guess that's a good thing. We made it in on Sunday afternoon and we were not disappointed in the least. She had shrimp fajitas and I the fajita burrito... both exceptional. We share the birria tacos, and they too were delicious. We were one of the first in on Sunday , but the place filled quickly. If you're looking for a new Mexican place... this is it!

Nice and clean place. Spacious with plenty of seating. Menu was very large with a variety of great options. The service was attentive and pleasant. The food came very quick. Our food was good and we enjoyed everything we ordered for the most part. The guacamole was not our favorite as it did not seem as flavorful but was not bad. I ordered the fajitas with chicken, shrimp and chorizo which was delicious. The portions were generous. Overall good experience and would go again.

The BEST Mexican restaurant in NW Omaha! We're regulars there and haven't found a thing on the menu that isn't the best in NW Omaha! Of course we don't have much on this end of town, but the places we do have are extraordinarily good! If you haven't tried it yet, give them a shot! I know you will be happy that you did! And they have one of the BESTS burgers I have ever found at a Mexican restaurant! The Tu Familia Burger! Service is excellent too! All of this set in an enjoyable atmosphere! Located in the Old Julio's/Old Voodoo Taco or whatever you remember it was before these wonderful people moved in! And for those that remember this.... Try it, you'll like it!

Tu Familia is a hidden gem. We have eaten there so many times, and the only thing I found to not be to my liking were one of the kinds of fajita's...and that was because it was so mild flavor-wise. Everything else is amazing!

This is close to our house, so we decided to try it. So good! The best chips and queso!! I think this is our new favorite authentic Mexican food spot in Omaha - service, food, and atmosphere are all excellent!

Had dinner here tonight and it was so good! Shrimp enchiladas were full of shrimp. Very tasty. Chili Colorado, chili Verde, and the taco trio were all really, really good. We started with the queso ... so very good... chips and salsa spicy just the right amount of heat. The top shelf margaritas were definitely top shelf! We enjoyed everything very much and will be back.

Tried brunch items for the first time. Standard breakfast was good, a little pricey, but a lot of food. Huevos rancheros was outstanding. My favorite in town!

Tu Familia on 90th and Fort. Went last night and there was just one other table. But more came in. Sadly they do not honor taco Tuesday but we're getting used to that. Margaritas were $2 off for happy hour. There is a stage. Not sure if they music or not but that would have been cool. The food was great. I had the birria tacos. There were 3 but I could only eat 2. The other guests were pleased with theirs as well. Looking forward to going again.

Had a bad experience ordering lunch delivery. The fajitas they gave me such little meat and didn't follow what I selected for them. I found the meat and even the sides not tasty. Having really good fajitas the other day from a different place i wish I had just gotten them instead of this place. I also had tried a tamale and it was very thick and again I didn't really like it. Probably would not try this place again.

I've tried many of their dishes and all are muy sabrosos!!! I would recommend it. The margaritas are my favorite and the stuff is always very nice!

We went to Tu Familia for a Saturday lunch; the location has been home to many restaurants and bars, I hope this one stays! The decor is pretty basic but very clean, as was the ladies room (a big step up from the last place). Our server Javier brought chips and salsa, more flavorful than the usual you would get at a similar place - the chips were unsalted but almost buttery, so the salt wasn't missed at all. I had the cheese and ground beef (unusual, usually only chicken available) quesadilla, also very flavorful, well grilled and crispy. My husband's meal was equally good, with 2 different sauces on the burrito and enchiladas. The taco was just beef, lettuce and cheese, but adding some of the salsa brightened it up. After tasting my quesadilla, he said he'd been missing cheese in his enchilada and burrito, but it was still tasty. Do be aware that a refill of chips and salsa was an extra $2, but yummy enough that we didn't mind. Javier was attentive and responsive. Enjoyable meal! Closed Mondays.

If you're a cheese lover like I am then come on down to Tu Familia Mexican restaurant. When I tell you their cheese dip is amazing I mean it! 10/10 recommend!!

Great service, the food is always good. We've typically been ordering from here for lunch, and we do take out. I've not had a bad meal yet! I'll have to do a better job of taking picture.

We went early on a Saturday evening, and it wasn't busy at all. Despite that, service was slow. The ambiance was low key, a few booths and several tables. The chips and salsa were mediocre; the salsa was thin and quite spicy. My husband's draft beer was nice and cold. My strawberry daiquiri had little, if any, alcohol. My chilaquiles were delicious! The chips were covered in a flavorful sauce but were still crispy. The refried beans had no flavor, so I added salsa and salt, which helped. My husband enjoyed his small (you can see the size in the photo--that was a medium sized dinner plate) and simple taco salad (unseasoned ground beef, iceberg lettuce, a few tomato cubes, and sour cream; the best part was the queso that was on top of the meat. We ended with their fried ice cream, which was okay, not great. Overall, there were a few positives, but it definitely could have been a lot better. I probably won't return unless I am craving the chilaquiles specifically.

Stopped in here on a weekend trip to Omaha. We're from California so we're lucky to have good Mexican food. My husband had fajitas and I had cheese enchiladas. The food was wonderful! Great, friendly service too! Enjoyed talking to the sweet server tonight and we'll be back next time we're in town. Thanks for the nice meal tonight!

The quesabirria tacos are bombb,, the service is amazing, the owner javier is great, wide range of tequilas, and the ambiance is great, good music, 100% recommend

Food was some of the best I have ever had in Omaha. I come from Albuquerque so that is very high praise as I am not easily impressed. ​

Stopped in after son's football game and service was quick and friendly. We received warm chips and delicious salsa right after being seated and food came quick. We had chips with queso, fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas for the kids. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Even the chicken in my son's quesadilla was juicy and a flavorful sauce. We will surely be back again and I encourage others in the neighborhood to give them a try!

Great restaurant for Mexican food in western Omaha! Friendly staff with quick service and quality food. 60oz margarita for $20 which is a steal of a deal. If you're planning on taking on the feat come with time as it takes a while haha!

Ate here earlier in the week and had to come back again today. Had the burrito ranchero- was very flavorful both times. My friend had the red tacos and they were great also. The biggest problem will be trying anything other than what I have had even though so many items look enticing. Margaritas are also very good. Fast and very friendly service. My new favorite Mexican restaurant!

I came through from our a town and was so pick to find this place. Food is delicious. Service is great. Best Mexican place in the area I heard. Get Stephen as your waiter if you can!

We went for the first time on a Friday night. Greeted promptly, sat in a booth and were immediately brought warm, crispy chips and delicious salsa! It's a quiet, understated space with ample seating and a bar. We both ordered traditional margaritas on the rocks which were fantastic. Food was delicious - shredded beef enchiladas (red sauce was great-not at all bitter), chili relleno, beans, and rice. Server Javier was attentive and friendly. Tu Familia has only been open about 5 months - add it to your list of new places to visit!

Rainy night on 12/9/23. I stopped in alone. Tables were about 90% filled. Chips and salsa came right away. Both were good. Salsa had a little bite. Water came after trying a couple of chips with salsa. Ordered 2 beef enchiladas with rice and beans. Food was not hot. Beans had been over processed until they were like wallpaper paste. Beans had no flavor. Enchiladas were nice size, plenty of meat very little flavor. Rice had nice color but no flavor. My family has eaten at Romeos and La Casa in Omaha and the new place in Blair. Being a native of Tucson, I'm always looking for authentic Mexican food. This place is really good and much better than others I've tried in the general area. For me, the refried beans are usually the "tell". The beans taste homemade, not from a can, they are a bit smoother than I usually like but still very good. The chips and salsa were very fresh and flavorful. I tried the hard shell beef taco and it was simple, but good. My daughter tried the taquitos that came with pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. Also very good. The service was friendly and quick. I like that it is a sit down and not fast food style restaurant. The mirrored backed bar adds a nice touch. Def better than any in this general area.

Okay Omaha peeps or those visiting...must try Mexican restaurant. Tu Familia Mexican Restaurant is one of the best restaurants for Mexican cuisine in Omaha. The food was so flavorful (each dish had a unique flavor of it's own). The server, Steven (sp ?), was so attentive! Thank You! We tried three different entrees as it was hard to choose. Salsa was delicious, homemade chips would have elevated to the next level. The margarita on the rocks presentation and taste is one of the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time! Loved the mariachi music and band who serenaded several tables. Just opened a month ago! Locally owned so I'm definitely supporting!!!

I Stopped in for lunch for the first time today. My chile Relleno was is the best I have ever eaten. My son ordered the fajitas which were also very good . The accompanying beans, rice and chips were also very good. Sadly the lunch crowd was small. With NCAA basketball every where they should have big banners facing 90th and screens with the games on, drink specials and food specials. And being new they need to put themselves out there with Easter, Mother's Day specials. They have good food and staff. They need to out to the people in the apartments, the police, School staff and offices with enticement to come in and enjoy good food at reasonable prices

The restaurant was busy but not overly loud. The portions are generous, the server was friendly and attentive and offered helpful food suggestions. I will definitely come back.

Greeted warmly and promptly by the server. The dining has a nicer but casual ambiance. Nice soft music in the background and you can still have a conversation. Complimentary homemade salsa and chips (think Netties flavor) came immediately while I browsed the menu. Authentic Mexican flavors of Jalisco and Puebla, so don't expect Tex-Mex, but food was very good. This was my first visit. I ordered a three enchilada combo and requested one be made vegetarian to share with a friend. They happily accommodated at no extra charge. Reasonable prices. Nice bar if you want a drink and they have a few TV's tuned into sports if you like to keep up with the game. Service was very good, and when my server was in the back or on break another server also came over to ask if I needed anything. Locally family owned. I highly recommend!

I found 2 chicken bones in my enchiladas. I brought it to the servers attention. I did receive an apology but didn't take the enchiladas off the bill. Poor service.

I stopped in for a quick lunch alone. The food is excellent: flavorful seasoning, fresh, and service outstanding. The restaurant is clean with pleasant, uncluttered decor and artwork. Definitely, worthwhile visiting for a casual meal for a reasonable price.

We stopped for some nachos and they were very good. The right amount of chips and we had gotten both beef and chicken and it came with lots of queso on the chips. We will go back to try more on the menu.

Omaha friends, do not sleep on this restaurant! It is some of the best on Omaha!! Service was great and food came out quickly. Great atmosphere as well.

service was very minimal got seated while the host was on a phone call, server had us waiting about 9-10 minutes for drinks and about another 20 for the food. i got the burrito ranchero very bland carnitas just wrapped in a flower tortilla with a basic tomato sauce on top, no rice no beans just carnitas and a salad put together.Saw a group of women come in and waiting 15 minutes just to not get seated very slow and unwilling vibe.
