The most bizarre experience. Thrown out on our tails!
Six of us went in for drinks on Wednesday and were warmly welcomed. Stayed for a couple of hours, our 12 and 17 year olds played on the arcade game and we chatted to the staff. Had a great evening and were really well looked after. We noticed the advert for NFL and asked if they were showing the game the following day and they confirmed they were. We told them we’d be back in to watch it, thanked them and tipped generously before leaving (photo below to prove we were there).
We returned the following day (Thursday) at the same time (5.30pm) and found a table. We were initially acknowledged by a member of staff and we sat down before been handed menus and advised they’d take our drinks order at the table. Having sat down and taken our coats off and got comfortable, the same member of staff returned, collected the menus off the table and told us to leave as they did not allow children in the bar. I politely advised them that we’d been exactly the same time the night before and was told that the owner was in and had said that we could not have children in the bar due to his licence.
The worst and most unfriendly, inconsistent treatment that we have experienced in our trip to Canada from the UK. We were literally turfed out having just sat down in front of the rest of the bar.
I absolutely have no problem with bars which don’t allow children, but the treatment above was shocking and done with absolutely no compassion, apology or understanding.
In a service led industry, this place should be struck off the map.
