Tubby's Tank House Thunderbolt

Our party got chicken fingers w/spuds, blackened grouper, and buffalo shrimps. Chicken fingers W/ spuds is a home run EVERY time-get the honey horseradish dipping sauce. I got 20 pieces to go the chicken was so good! Buffalo shrimp was on the hot side of hot. The grouper and sides was a large portion and seasoned perfectly. If you are looking for tasty food, plentiful portions, and exceptional service-ask for Dreey and enjoy!

My mom and I tried this place based off a recommendation, but were disappointed in the food. The service was great. Our waitress was phenomenal, however my crab cake sandwich was very salty tasting and my mom wasn’t a big fan of the fish tacos she ordered either. The fried potato chips were very greasy. We did however enjoy the clam chowder.

Been coming here for decades and must’ve just caught them on a bad night or when the chef got behind on his work. Salmon was undercooked, and the chicken fingers batter was way too spicy from the original recipe that Tubby’s is known for. All of our side breads were stale and tasted funny. There must’ve been a communication error between host and waitstaff since we sat out on porch for 15-20 minutes before a server popped outside to see what was up. Not knowing we hadn’t been serviced yet, Levi jumped right into action and got everyone’s orders in. He was a great server and did his best to keep everyone attended to. We didn’t send the food back because we didn’t want to waste it but did let him know it’s tasted better at Tubby’s before.

Tubby's was very good. We sat at the bar on the inside and the bartender was very nice. We had the shrimp salad sandwich and it was delicious. Get the spuds. Always get the spuds on the side. They were insanely delicious. The honey horseradish dipping sauce topped it off.

I found this place on Google prior to our Savannah trip and wanted to try it because it has a pet friendly patio. Dined on a Saturday evening about 7pm and was told the wait would be approximately 1 hour but once I checked back in we were told we could be seated immediately. We were seated in the back right below 2 patio fans. When I say between the wind and the fans we were nearly frozen and blown away waiting on our food, this is not an exaggeration. We waited more than an hour for our food to come out and under the conditions it was a brutal wait. Four meals ordered, the salmon salad, the pick 2 (fried oysters, shrimp and spuds), shrimp/spuds and I had the flouder sandwich and spuds. The food was decent, nothing to rave about but we had never eaten spuds so that was different. I inquired about turning the fans off and was asked if I really wanted that because the bugs were really bad. The flying bugs are called sand gnats and they were everywhere, so I agreed the fans would be best left on since the fans helped to keep the gnat levels down. Other folks were passing around repellent and we only left with a few bites so I guess we survived. Would I go back? If I did it would have to be inside dining. I should've mentioned that our waiter suggested the spuds over fries and he was cordial. Lastly, we aren't smokers (didn't know that was still a thing) but smoking was allowed right near the patio and was very off-putting. A designated area away from the patio would serve patrons best. The live music was entertaining.

Tubby’s tankers is a well established fixture in thunderbolts right across the street from the river. The servers are well trained experienced and helpful. I ordered for lunch a special Reuben sandwich which was creative. Well put together everything was prepared perfectly and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend ittub is a fun place to go. You can eat inside or outside and the staff is well trained they will make sure you leave happy

The food, the atmosphere and are sweet waitress were just the best and sweetest!!! What I love about outdoor patios is when they have a live band...buuut... The song choices the band made we're not the best...😬 Our poor waitress had a hard time hearing us and we sat in the far back away from the band. Other than that, we were walking distance from Airbnb about 2 minutes and our sweet waitress recommended some places to go! Definitely go there for the view and for that waitress again because how sweet she is!

Stopped in for lunch & was pleasantly surprised by this little spot off the beaten path. We had the house salad with grilled chicken & a snapper sandwich with fries with 1 beer & 1 cocktail. The sandwich was great (a bit pricey, but good), the salad was also good & service was excellent. Everyone in there was really nice & our server (Mya) was as cute as she was friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
