Google
Traveled through Tucson International Airport a couple of weeks ago for a conference. It was a very convenient airport and easy to get around. The airport is not hard to get around and very helpful staff to navigate through. There was nothing open when I arrived after 10 pm and nothing was open when I left at 5 am. See you in another 10 years Tuscon.

Google
Small airport but great screening staff that are polite and helpful. And it's small enough to get to the gates easily.

Google
Man, it was so quite. Looking out to the runways, and it looked like we're in Langoliers. LOL! Very clean and easy to bellu up to the bar while waiting for departure. TSA was quick, easy, and everyone was very friendly.

Liz Ball

Google
One of my favorite airports to fly in and out of. Great service always fast through security. Easy parking. The works!

Katy Payne

Google
TIA is great! It is a small airport, yet offers lots of local restaurants and gift shops, and most things that a large, major airportwould offer. The services are good. I haven't had to wait too long in any lines, as I would in a major airport.

Google
Convenience and staff are all five star. Check in and out is super easy getting to and from is super easy, but the airport is gross inside. They really do need some upgrades with their carpeting and the cleaners could do a much better job the floors are filthy, there’s garbage underneath most of the benches throughout the whole airport. It’s very slow almost every day so there is not really any good excuses for uncleanly areas throughout. Definitely not worth rerouting any trips, just be aware that you won’t be napping on the ground inside this airport and the smell is not great.

Google
Tucson International Airport is easily one of the most pleasant airports I’ve traveled through. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that this airport is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. Everything is clearly marked and easy to navigate...even first-time visitors will find it stress-free to get where they need to go. One of the biggest perks? It’s never overwhelmingly busy. Unlike larger airports where you're constantly fighting crowds, TUS offers a calm and efficient travel experience. Security lines are quick and well-managed, and there’s no chaotic energy like you often find in bigger hubs. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax before your flight. The airport layout is smart and user-friendly, with short walking distances between check-in, security, and gates. There are some nice local touches in the decor and food offerings, giving it a unique, welcoming vibe that reflects the spirit of Tucson. Even the bathrooms are impressively clean, which is always a plus when you're on the move. Whether you’re arriving or departing, Tucson International makes air travel feel a little more human and a lot less stressful. I wish more airports were like this one.

It's a small airport. Pretty well kept.

Yelp
I recently flew into Tucson International Airport (TUS), and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and pleasant the experience was. The airport is small but well-organized, making it easy to navigate. The staff, from arrival to baggage claim, were all friendly and helpful, adding a touch of Tucson hospitality. The terminal is consistently updated and improved, which is a great sign of their commitment to providing a good experience for travelers. I loved the variety of food options, from Bruegger's Bagels to Beyond Bread, offering soups, sandwiches, and pastries. It was a carb lover's paradise! Baggage claim was quick and efficient, and I had my luggage in no time. The airport also offers free Wi-Fi, which is always a plus. The parking situation is convenient, with shuttle services available for long-term parking. Overall, Tucson International Airport is a great example of how a small airport can still provide excellent service and a stress-free travel experience. I'll definitely be choosing TUS for my future travels whenever possible.

Yelp
Beware Floridians! Our driver's license does not meet the TSA's micro-scanning requirements. It took an extra 30 plus minutes to get through security, because they sent me back to the check-in gate to be sure I am who I say I am! They say they have a new scanning system, and it's kicking Florida DL's out! I will also write the Fla DOT and ask them what is going on with our Driver's licenses. It is apparently a new requirement in airport security....and my DL did not pass! Yes I have the new verified driver's license. It's a system glitch of some kind. ALLOW EXTRA TIME!

Yelp
Very small airport. I ended up getting in at 5pm and we were the only flight landing so getting out was a breeze. All of the food and shops were closed so it was stranger to see so much closed relatively early in the day. Getting out and finding your way was clearly marked. They have plenty of signs to guide you to the right place to find your ride or car.

Yelp
Easy in. Easy out. Flying in and out of Tucson A. was a breeze during my long President's weekend vacation. Even landing from O'Hare on a Friday night, was swell. The atmosphere here is relaxed, made for a smooth travel experience and had fewer crowds. Plus the terminals are easy to navigate with fewer gates and a more straightforward layout.

Yelp
Quaint and overall small airport in Tucson, Arizona, even for being an international airport. The decor at the airport is quite inviting and they have a handful of shops and stores that you can go into but there isn't a ton to do as it is a rather small airport. It was extremely easy to walk right out of the airport and order an Uber. The Uber came within just a couple of minutes which was really nice. They also have plenty of very accessible parking, if you are parking at all. Five stars for the overall experience at this airport, it was wonderful! I'll definitely be coming back to Tucson.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a nice, small airport that is easy to navigate with ride share pickup right off baggage claim and rental car return an easy walk from flight check in. There are just two terminals and there do seem to be a few places to eat. Seating seems sufficient for the volume of travelers on a weekday morning.
google avatar

Chantel C.

Yelp
This quaint airport makes traveling a breeze. No crowds minimal walking. This airport is small but runs efficiently. Getting through security was a breeze and it's easy to navigate. I love the desert decor. You might want to pack some snacks as there are only a handful of restaurants open st a time. Easy to read signs and no shuttle for the rentals!! It's a quick walk through the terminal and out the sliding door.

Yelp
I m in the Cell phone waiting lot to pick up my wife returning from her 3 state East coast tour. Family and business, she will be glad to be back in her own bed and pillows. Travel is fun but it's good to have her home.

Yelp
Easy to navigate, clean, and nice service. Frequent here often when visiting my parents.

Yelp
There are a lot of improvements that could be made. It is a small, well laid out airport, with a good amount of natural light, and it seems updated. Another pro is that the rideshare pickup area is very clearly marked and accessible! This is hardly unique to this airport, to say the least, but the TSA employees are grumpy and get mad when you don't push the items all the way into the scanner. Other airports don't want you to even get close to doing so (looking at you, DFW). Confusion :[ Aesthetically, once you're at the gates, the ceilings are very low, and the lighting is terrible. It's hard to even sit and read in the area toward the middle because the lighting is so poor. Worse yet, the AC is not very good for such a hot climate. We were there on a day hovering around 100 degrees, and although the thermostat I saw said 75, it felt like 80ish. It was very little relief from outside, so that was not fun to sit around in. This is also not only true of this airport, but the lack of power outlets is ridiculous. What year is it?! The gates themselves have zero, except a few on the wall where there is no seating anyway. Meanwhile, the aforementioned seats in the middle of the terminal (next to restaurants, not at the gates themselves) have outlets! Or do they? I tried to plug my charger(s) into multiple outlets, including the USB ports, and nothing occurred. This was true for my husband's phone as well, so it wasn't a one-off occurrence that could be ascribed to a phone's hardware.

Yelp
This is a cute small-ish airport that is full of very friendly employees. When we first flew in, my husband was not impressed. TUS is pretty old school, looks like the airports from the 1970s. However, by the time we left Tuscon, we all looked at TUS as a cute airport with the nicest airport employees. After Waze took us to the wrong part of the airport, I was concerned that we would arrive too late to check in our luggage. No problem at all, and no guilt trip from the bag drop staff. Also, it's only a couple minute walk from the car rental drop off to the farthest corner of the American check in. I'd happily fly into Tuscon in the future rather than Phoenix and face a 2 hours drive.
google avatar

LaRae B.

Yelp
Nice, smaller airport that's easy to navigate. Car rental is near terminal so no need to take a shuttle which is nice. Friendly staff and plenty of food options. A stress-free airport.
google avatar

Greg T.

Yelp
Nice smaller airport that was easy to get in and out of. Fairly close to downtown and relatively accessible. Decent dining options and larger gate areas.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Let me tell you. This is my second most frequented airport throughout my travels. And it is so close to overtaking my absolute favorite( hello Louisville us my number 1) I'm here every 3 or 4 months to check in on my dad. I'm 99% of the time at gate A4 for both departures and arrivals. A gates have one bar that the service is always top notch. And 3 food options. Sir Veza's is my go to for the tacos and chips. Security lines- they deserve 10 stars!! The longest I've EVER waited was 5 minutes. They are nice, quick and efficient. Second best part about this airport besides the tsa lines are the bathrooms. Always clean, well stocked and they have the vacant/occupied signs so no guessing.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Great small airport. There is a good working area with tables and power sockets, near gate B1 and near Brueggers Bagels. Cannot return a car from Los Reales. I came in from I-10 east along Los Reales. This is the recommended route that many customers will be using. But it has NO signs to rental car return! Navigation sent me into the exit of the Avis lot. I worked out that I had to exit the airport, keep left to return, and then follow the signage. Most customers would not do that. Please communicate how to enter the airport from the east to return a car. Thanks!

Yelp
Flying in and out of Tucson was a breeze. For such a small airport, they do a terrific job with making the experience as stressful as free as possible. The employees at Security were very nice and the wait was almost nonexistent. Once past security, there aren't a lot of options for dining, but there were a few places like a Brugger's Bagels and a Bar with a grab and go section. If you are flying in, get ready for some fragrant air. We arrived during desert blooms, and once we stepped outside, the air smelled really fresh and invigorating. There were also some Saguaro Cacti in the parking lot. Ultimately, it's a rather low key airport, but the friendliness of the employees and the simple navigability of the airport is a big factor in making it a relatively low stress endeavor. Tucson was a lovely city and I look forward to flying back again at some point!
google avatar

Franklin M.

Yelp
This small airport is easy peasy to get around in compared to it's big cousin PHX airport. Our bags took a long time to arrive from the Southwest airlines plane but other than that it's a relaxing airport to fly in and out of. The prices at the bar are reasonable too and they had some good restaurant food options.
google avatar

Yelp
Small international airport have good facilities and no traffic jams day n night. It's a developing city airport!! Will have a good potential on mountain state area....

Yelp
I fly a ton, and love this airport. Interesting to read all the mixed reviews (particularly the critical ones) In my experience with a smaller airport you do not have the same chaos you do with bigger ones and I have only had 2 incidents here out of hundreds where there were chaotic lines. I have NEVER been one of the people to drive two hours to Phoenix to fly out somewhere. I call that 'false economies' when you generally may only save less than 100 bucks on airfare but lose four plus hours of your time round trip in a car and have to deal with Phoenix traffic. Parking is fine, including off property parking and is reasonable. Cost is also very reasonable compared to bigger airports. I have found all of the Airline counters pretty efficient. Some days they are a little backed up, but I generally do not need extra help - seriously unless you fly international you can do most stuff online and then get your own bag tag. TSA has always been efficient and I have always blown through security with Precheck. Non-precheck lines for the most part have always appeared super reasonable. The waiting areas for flights are comfortable for this size airport with food options beyond security. IF you are delayed, it does suck a little as seating can get a bit crammed if a bunch of flights are waiting at the same time. The outside of security areas are really nice, and they have really infused some cool art into this airport. I love this airport, it is easy to get to and there are a decent amount of flights in and out to connect through.
google avatar

Chrissy F.

Yelp
I enjoy how simple and easy to navigate the Tucson Int'l Airport is! Reminds me of the Charleston airport!! Depending on the flight, getting your luggage could take some time so try to plan timed activities with slight delay in mind to have that buffer. TSA Precheck was a breeze to go through and the bathrooms were clean. There's filtered water stations throughout so don't forget your reusable bottle! After gathering my luggage, I was delighted to see the saguaro and other varieties of cacti - kudos to the horticultural/maintenance crew for planting some native flora to greet you on your arrival. Very aesthetically pleasing.

Yelp
I can't speak more highly on my city's International AirPort. Always a great experience with friendly staff all around. My big wish is there still aren't many charging ports while you wait to board for passengers. Good food selection of local treasures available. Also I love the economy parking and cell phone lots. Very reasonable
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
Liked the gallery artwork of cactus that could be purchased. TSA was not being very mindful. The gentlemen before me was taking a while to grab his things even with an attendant helping him. But the TSA officer kept pushing bin and items through. It started to squish all the bins together. A laptop in a bin almost got pushed off the conveyor and onto the floor of the attendant hadn't caught it. That was not a good look.
google avatar

Yelp
WiFi is broken & they are apparently very proud of their sandwiches It's 2024 - if you're in an airport you should be able to expect wifi service while waiting for your flight. Sure you can connect to the "free wifi", but surprise - it doesn't actually work. (I work in IT and can assure you that this is not user error.) On to the food: $16 will get you a sandwich. I realize one can't expect airport food prices to be competitive with reality - but seriously? For a sandwich? Only here to connect so I can't speak to check-in/security. Just make sure if you're connecting here you make plans to eat elsewhere and figure out another way to get online. (Cell service is actually good)
google avatar

Diana G.

Yelp
This is a small airport and easy to maneuver. It doesn't take long to go through security to the main gate. I am not sure if this is normal for them, but if you have TSA pre-check, you do go through a TSA pre-check line, but then they send you with the general public for the screening. You don't have to takeoff your shoes, but you do have to wait behind the people that are taking off their shoes and taking out the items out of their bags.. Once at the main gate, there's plenty of seating. I noticed they have outlets to charge your electronics against the wall, but not in the general seating area. They do have places where you can get coffee or snacks. Restrooms are readily available and are clean.
google avatar

Elle M.

Yelp
I like small airports. I especially like when small airports have the indoor/outdoor thing going on. Tucson is easy to get in and out, and that means more time out having fun, and less time waiting to board.
google avatar

Dee W.

Yelp
Easy airport to get in and out of there was not many restaurants, but the food was good at the one I ate at. It was clean in the restrooms overall satisfied.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Easy small commercial airport. Seats worn in waiting areas. Good choice of restaurant and shops.
google avatar

Melinda E.

Yelp
This airport is really small but the few good food options they have are great . The sand which shop is delicious !
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Tucson's airport is a super cute small town airport that's easy to get in and out of. My experience with TSA here was a positive one. Like many other small town airports, food options are on the limited side, so I'd bring my own food and my own water bottle to fill up at the airport.
google avatar

Rami H.

Yelp
It's nice to see that an airport has a nursing station in the terminal. I hope more airports does that.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
While TUS only handles about 3.3M passengers a year (compared to Sky Harbor in PHX at around 44.3M) TUS proves that size doesn't matter. Everything about this airport is better. Ground transportation alone to and from the airport is so much more efficient it isn't even close. TSA lines once inside are so much more efficient; yes, I have TSA pre-check, Clear and Global Entry. NONE of which are needed here, even without them, you can clear standard TSA in less than 15 minutes. If you're headed to visit your kids at UofA or your retired parents in the area, I highly recommend skipping Sky Harbor, and the extra time spent driving from Phoenix and coming directly into TUS. This especially applies if you're flying American Airlines as they account for almost 30% of all air traffic.
google avatar

Belle V.

Yelp
Fast baggage check in, no long lines and if there is a line, it moves fast. Been to a lot of big airports and I prefer the small ones like this. Less chaos, they do have few food stations inside, everything is simple and easy.
google avatar

Marah H.

Yelp
The Tucson Airport is on the smaller side for international airports in the US. Maybe that's my bias showing having worked in airports such as SeaTac. Nevertheless, Tucson offers two separate terminals where American, Alaska, and Delta are on one side and every other airline is located at the other terminal. TSA is a breeze in comparison to many other international airports, but in turn due to their smaller size, the food options are minimal. Fortunately, Beyond Bread has killer sandwiches. Finding your gate is as easy as it gets, and the terminal itself isn't very big.
google avatar

Eva S.

Yelp
Good to be home. This is a great little airport. It's not busy and you are out in like 10 minutes.
google avatar

Connor E.

Yelp
This is a small but convenient airport. It is nice sense it's so small you are in and out in a quick manner. When it comes to restaurants it doesn't have much to offer there is only three places to eat and one gift shop.
google avatar

Thomas N.

Yelp
I like smaller airports where you can pick up your bags and walk to the rental car counter. Terminal A had much longer line then terminal B (American Airlines). Unfortunately the American Airlines customer Service agents were rude jerks. Decent food choices in the gate area.
google avatar

Genevieve M.

Yelp
My favorite part of this no- frills airport is the ease of getting in and out of the airport. Very rarely do you ever have long lines and you won't have to worry ever about running miles or catching a light rail to catch a connecting flight. The only drawback I suppose is if you have to be at the airport for a longer period of time, there aren't a lot of food or shopping choices.
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
If you want to go back to the 80s this is your airport Makes you wonder if it looked any better back then? Place needs a redo and a fresh coat of paint or something Not a ton to choose from but not horrible choices in terms of food but the whole terminal needs a face lift Welcome back to the future

Yelp
On August 21st, 4:01 PM we flew back to Tucson after celebrating our 50th wedding Anniversary with our in-laws in Charlotte, SC. I was VERY tired & the severe osteoporosis in my right knee was acting up. SO glad to see out Lyft driver pul up to the "App stand" location, because it meant that we'd soon be home, roughly 15 minutes away from the airport. Got home, and realized I DIDN'T have my purse! We kept 'pinging' it. I showed it was STILL at TIA. I'd stupidly left it on the concrete wall at the "App stand." Got all our luggage, but somehow had forgotten my purse of all things! It had all my jewelry, wallet, phone, money & so forth in it. We hopped in our Jeep & I drove like a madwoman back to TIA to see if it was still there. I called the Airport Authority on my husband's phone, and a friendly voice answered and asked: "Is this Merry?" I said yes. It was Sargent Smith. He told me that some kind soul had turned my purse in to them and I could pick it up within 30 days. But then he saw my husband walking towards him & said: "Merry, your husband is coming toward me right now, so no need to wait." He was so reassuring, so kind and let me know the purse was undamaged. Everything was still intact inside it! One CAN hear a smile over the phone and Sargent Smith was smiling when he told me the good news. This wonderful gentleman turned a scary situation into a wonderful outcome. To say it COULD have been a disaster, is an understatement. Again, he was kind, friendly, reassuring, professional and courteous. KUDOS to this officer. We let everyone involved know that they ALL are and were sincerely appreciated. Would like to shake his hand someday and tell him in person how much he's appreciated.

Yelp
I love Tucson Airport for it easy of access, size and stress free navigation. I've alway found staff (including security) to be warm, welcoming and reasonable. Ironically it's all those things that make it great that simultaneously creates the largest negative issue. And that's availability of flights. I expect times to be limited (it's a small airport). However we no longer have flights to Silicon Valley (the wests major economic hub). And even flights to SoCal have gone way overtime (no OC etc). I don't expect a ton to NYC. However the west is "our region" and I hope we'll continue to invest in connections to other areas out west making Tucson the 5 star place it deserves to be once again.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Small, not a lot of places to eat or drink in the terminal I was in. Planes were on time however and staff courteous. Definitely need more seating and power stations however when airport is busy.
google avatar

Debbie G.

Yelp
This is a small airport and really easy to get in and out of. No freeways needed to access and I used surface streets for my entire stay in Tucson. Rental car return was simple and quick, then walking into the airport took just a few minutes. Security was fast, professional and simple. Restrooms were well maintained. The waiting area even had plugs so I was able to charge my phone. Boarding the plan was orderly and all went well. I would love to fly in again!
google avatar

Omar Z.

Yelp
This airport is east to navigate and the car rental section can be reached from just right outside the terminal within the same pathway. I did not run into any issues and there was no overcrowding at the gates. I like the people of Tucson and with that I would have given this airport a five out of five however they did not have my Starbucks in Terminal A. Instead there is a Dunkin' Donuts which I mean if you are not on keto you might as well get coffee and a dozen Boston cremes. The TSA here was efficient and got me through to the gate with no issues. The airport staff working at Hudson, which is a store that has snacks, drinks, and souvenirs was very friendly. There were other little pop up stands close and along the way to the gates.
google avatar

Trevor 2.

Yelp
One of the quickest in an out airports I've ever been too. Never that busy, quick lines through TSA, and cheap and easy parking that is literally right in front of the airport.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Happy to be back. TUS airport is streamline, good Wifi, and has clean bathrooms. Lot of concession kiosks were closed at 3pm. Hmmm. Wonder why.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Keeping it simple for this review. Small airport. Limited seating. Limited gate space area. Limited outlets. Some seating is in the middle so people are always walking past you. Nice, simple airport. Gets the job done.
google avatar

Fernando C.

Yelp
I flew in to Tucson International Airport for work. It is my first time visiting Arizona! I was surprised by all the countless cactus there were here. I will be in Tucson for a couple weeks and will explore as much of the city as I can. The plane on the way here was very empty. The airport as well. It is my first time in another state. I gotta say Arizona, at least this part is very calm.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Clean Environment Friendly Staff Good signage Several Restaurants and brewery options along with general stores.

Yelp
This is a small airport & easy to maneuver through. It's hard to get lost in here and I can't tell you how many times when I lived in Tucson & had a boyfriend who lived in Vegas who would fly out to see me & I would be dropping him off with 30 minutes to spare before his flight left and he was able to get on his plane in time. I don't recommended doing this. LOL I just flew into & out of here for Halloween. With Covid most everything was closed early here. There was a bar/restaurant that was open when I landed around 5pm & when I left around 7pm. The gift shop was open on my flight out. I love browsing through here as they have a bunch of cute stuff. My favorite is a little cactus you can bring home in a box. They have been selling these for @ least 17 years. I don't do well with keeping them alive though. :-( Bathrooms are always clean along with the airport. The check-in desks are easy to use along with picking up your luggage after landing. They have a cell phone lot for people to hang out in until you arrive or they can pay to park & come inside the airport. They now have a "pet relief" area inside the airport. Its sad to see how dead the airport is due to Covid & less people flying. Due to limited food I recommend you eat prior to arriving or bring something your able to bring thru security with you. Happy & safe traveling!!!
