Tuddal Høyfjellshotel AS

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a fantastic four-course meal at the hotel restaurant. Preceded by a fine bottle of champagne, each course came with a well-chosen wine. The service was excellent and the food was incredible! The hotel is a wonderful place that continues many Norwegian traditions.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights for a family celebration. The accommodation was very comfortable with great facilities, the food was excellent and the staff are incredibly friendly.||The food at dinner was delicious, we had four courses and a wine package, which was great value. The buffet selection for breakfast was also amazing!||The hotel is set in the mountains of Tuddal and the views are spectacular! It’s a great place to be!

We had a lovely weekend at Tuddal Høyfjells-Hotel, a family celebration. We also enjoyed «Babettes feast», which they had put tremendous effort in. The staff and the Hotel-owner were extremly friendly, kind and service-minded- but all without beiing too much. Rooms and ambiente were historical, great and cosy, and very clean. A unique experience, I would like to come there again! There are also great possibilities for exploring the spectaculous surrounding Nature e.g. Gaustadtoppem! ❤️

Incredible warm service. Really nice staff that is attentive and kind. The food is great and fairly priced. The wine list is quite good with some excellent finds. ||The property is a bit messy and could be tidied up. In the hotels defense it seems that many buildings are undergoing renovations. ||Definitely going back to Tuddal Hoyfjellshotel in the future.

Extremely charming hotel for those who know how to appreciate the historical, cultural and peculiar. Superb cooking with exquisite produce from the local area. Good atmosphere, pleasant living rooms and living areas. Good ski trails and perfect place to experience Norway's high mountains and nature. Also the brewery was impressive.

Funny little hotel where you can feel and smell the history. Therefore also very old, and not somewhere I'd spend hours or nights.

We loved absolutely everything about this gem of a property: the location in a stunning natural environment, the adorable staff, the unique history and decor of the hotel full of collectible and heirloom furniture and, of course the wonderful dinner. Food certainly was a highlight as this is generally where Norway fails to impress us. We were served a fresh, creative, and delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room overlooking the fjell. The chef even adjusted the menu for the vegetarians among us, creating genuine new dishes for us. Wow! Again, that was unexpected as eating veg in Norway is often a challenge. Everything felt authentic and personal in this independently-run property. Dinner starts with a presentation of the history of the place by the owner, their struggles during Covid and how they overcame them. Charmingly, this introduction included the reading of a poem (sadly we don’t understand Norwegian so had to rely on the translation of the presentation afterwards). Every effort is made to be sustainable : There’s a vegetable garden, the delicious bread is baked on the premisses (we took a box of the amazing Flatbrød with us) and the lovely shop sells some local cheese, honey and other specialties including, this being Norway, sweets :) We are already dreaming of a next stay to the Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to experience more of its magic and of the stunning nature around it as our stay this time was way too short. Note to the owners: stay as you are, you are a genuine gem and the world needs more places like yours. Thank you for everything!

If you want to experience staying at a hotel which is family driven and with a strong focus on norwegian culture, you have to visit Tuddal Høyfjellshotel! We've only been here in the winter, and the scenery never stops to amaze us. Picture perfect snow landscape. The area is perfect for cross country skiing. The hotel itself is an old establishment, but has all the charm and soul you would expect from such a place. All the rooms are very basic, but the service, food and overall experience more than covers for it. You feel like you know the owners from the moment you set your feet inside. They also have different theme stayes during the year. We tried Babettes Gjestebud, based on a novel from Karen Blixen. This was a great experience, and we can really recommend it. For a conclusion don't expect luxury rooms, but expect great warmth from staff, excellent food (most is local and made on location) and FANTASTIC nature! Go for it!
