We had one room with no working AC and weren’t quite warned that the minibar would cost money. But otherwise they solved 100% of the problems we had

This review is in respect of the restaurant… an exceptional oasis of tranquility with a lunch menu that was imaginative, fresh ingredients beautifully prepared and presented. Good service and have no hesitation in recommending and were I to return to Orihuela, would not hesitate to return.

I hope this is the only One Star review I have to leave ever. We booked a stay for three nights via the hotel's own booking page. Under amenities, they list "parking" which turns out to be that guests are on their own to find a parking spot in the street. For anyone who have been to Spanish cities, this is a stiff challenge at best, impossible at worst. Most hotels in the world also be able to boast all kinds of advantages "out in the street" but they don't, because that would be deceptive. There is a parking garage 200+ meters from the hotel, at 24 euros a night (or 18 euros through the hotel), but obvioulsy that cannot truthfully be listed under "amenities" (a desirable or useful feature or facility of a building or place). A closer look shows that they gave listed a "free airport shuttle" as well. Not true either. Both the receptionist and his call to management only resulted in lame justifications but no solutions, so we canceled our booking right away (this rating pertains to lack of service) and found another, truthful accommodation instead. There are 110 Sercotel hotels worldwide, so we can safely delete all of them as options.

Stayed in the standard room for 3 days. The hotel is in the middle of the town, it's a great location. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and beautiful. The room is good enough for the price. Spacious, and well equipped for most of your needs. The bathroom is great, includes a bathtub. My room however had little to no natural light so it was dark all the time. The restaurant is just okay, the menu selection is not that varied, but service is great. Location is good, everything is in walking distance, especially the old town. Overall a nice experience.

Good location in the centre of town. You can pay for nearby parking or for a 5-10 minute walk, free parking. Ambience of the hotel excellent, rooms spacious and well equipped, lovely hot water and warm air for the winter months. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good, varied choice for the breakfasts and the attached restaurant also good value for money . Hotel-wise, a wonderful experience. Not the hotel's fault, but I wish the town hall would turn off the cathedral/church bells that continued to sound on the hour throughout the night.

Great Value hotel in beautiful Old building brilliantly situated. We only stopped one night but enjoyed using it as a base to explore. Our room had juliet balcony overlooking the square which was lovely. Staff attentive and friendly. Loads of toiletries in bathroom. Clean. Only one gripe and that's that mattresses were very hard.

Six years since our last visit and we weren’t disappointed. Still well preserved building and most friendly and helpful staff. Great location with front door drop off and public car parking nearby. Charming terrace bar and bistro which we didn’t experience last time. The air conditioning in our friends’ room wasn’t working properly and the hotel switched them to a better room with no fuss.

The worst customer service experience I have ever received for a 4 star hotel. I reserved the master suite for three nights for my wedding and my room lost power twice including the morning of my wedding) the electricity was working in the other rooms). The receptionist spoke awfully to me when I expressed concerns about not being able to get ready for my wedding. I was spoken to very badly upon checking out despite having paid for a master suite for 3 nights without full electricity. If you do not know how to work in customer service and provide a positive experience for your guests, don’t work at a hotel.
