We walked past this place and made note that they do mezcal tastings. We were originally going to go to the mezcal and tequila museum, but we didn't make it. So on our last day, we walked here to do a tasting and buy some mezcal to take home.
I'm pretty sure i learned as much here as I would have at the museum.
Joel poured for us and answered (in-depth!) every single question I had. And since all I had was the (incorrect) idea that "mezcal = smoky tequila", I had a lot of questions
We tasted 10+ mezcals and ended up buying a few bottles. They also had a nice selection of smaller bottles that you can bring in your carry-on, which was great because I didn't have checked luggage.
This was honestly one of the best experiences I've had in CDMX. I learned so much about mezcal, including the history, industry, and even how to drink and taste it. And their selection focuses on small, independent, mezcalerias that you probably can't find many other places
Pretty much gonna tell everyone I know going to CDMX to go to this shop for mezcal
