Tuitui Museum Bistro & Café

World class level museum Café from start to finish. Location and quality of fittings and atmosphere is up there with London, Paris or New York. And so is the service and quality of food and drinks. Have a coffee and a sweet or savoury dish and taste one of New Zealand‘s top craft beer brewery McLeod‘s from Waipu here on tap. Culture with a nice kiwi 🥝 twist also in form of the famous tomato ketchup squeeze bottle. What’s there not to love about this place and setting.

You wouldn't expect much from a museum bistro, but it is surprisingly good! We ate here several times and tasted most things on the menu, kids menu included. I especially like the chowder (in photo). Portions are good and generous, service is very friendly and quick. A good stop in the middle of your museum visit!

Very delicious- a good frosting to cupcake ratio, and very quick and attentive staff. Definitely a well oiled machine, they were able to quickly serve me and five other customers in about five minutes. Prices are a bit high - be prepared to spend $$! Portions aren't stingy or generous, just what you'd expect. Seats are hard plastic, a little uncomfortable. Table are cleaned and wiped down by staff, who quickly replace cutlery and napkins holders. As it is the museum, there is some background chatter but you'll still be able to hear your table conversations. If possible, try to prepack your lunch before going to the museum- there is a kai room you can eat in! The cafe is OK - the price is the main con.

A decent eatery with friendly staff. A simple but very innovative idea they have implemented is that the kids menu has a colouring sheet which my son loved.

Had a lovely lunch with family at Tuitui Museum Bistro and Cafe. The pizza was cheesy and delicious the cranberry sauce was a surprise but really worked! Chicken burger was okay, and the chips were crisp and tasty. Big thanks to Sali for the friendly service. Nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal in a beautiful setting.

Sat in bistro section. Served by Sally. Awesome service to everyone around us. Elevated to outstanding when advised husband was coeliac. Great care given in checking with kitchen staff. Lots of effort given to ensure he had a great experience. Very thoughtful in serving my mum with dementia. Really nice food. Highly reccomend Thanks Sally and staff.

Fabulous food, the duck tacos were delicious and the chicken pizza yum. I have to say though for a museum cafe the prices are very high. A simply coffee was over $7, add oat milk + a whopping $1.70, add vanilla and a double whopping $1.70. You don’t need to charge $3.40 for a shot of vanilla syrup and oat milk, usually places charge 50-70 cents certaimly no more than $1, that made the whole experience one that made us feel ripped off. Portions are not massive and the kids meals tiny, $14 for basically 1 slider and fries. Come on guys!!

Went to see the Auckland Museum with family and this was the second time visiting the cafe. Amazing food absolutely loved the Mediterranean pizza. The atmosphere was hood and Nathan - the guy serving us was absolutely amazing.
