This place is very poor. The food they sale is horrible, the cloths are very expensive, a shirt you can buy in US for $5 there they sale it for $20/$25. A bottle of liquor that you can buy in US for $20 they will sale it there for $90 to $120. If you visiting to take a look at the ruins get ready to make a line of 30 min under the hot sun with no shades or water and look at some old ruins cause they really aren’t a big deal. My advise Save your money and visit something else. This place is nothing like in pictures, is terrible.

It's really a tourist 'farm', if you don't look 'Spanish/Mexican', but American or European you pay high prices. They only want dollars, if you insist on MNX pesos, the price is approx. 4-6 US dollars cheaper. It's worth to bargain and even if they don't accept instantly, if you walk away they mostly call you back and accept the bargained price. There are also artist who perform a show in the sky, if you take a look or even take a picture, you need to pay. Also people with iguanas you can take pictures with, of course for payment. There is a pharmacy, some food stand and restaurants, a money changer and an overpriced icecream shop.

This place used to be magical. Now it’s nothing but a tourist trap.. they will only take Mexican pesos, and they want exact change. None of the ATMs are working. All the pictures of beautiful beaches must’ve been before the hurricane. Today the beaches were covered in nasty. Save your money go anywhere, but here.

Do not i repeat do not stop and the entrance of the road or at the fort parking spaces.. they don’t work for the park. And will scam you. Park at the designated parking 🅿️ and don’t buy nothing until you go to the designated selling point!! They will tell you everything and anything. Please dont believe them unless they show you the credentials otherwise they have a police badge lol.

Nice and interesting market. Lots of entertainment throughout the day. Be wary of merchants, they will try to charge you more if you look like a tourist.

DO NOT TAKE PICTURES WITH THE ANIMALS!!! They use monkeys and macaws as props for pictures in exchange for money. These poor animals are being exploited and kept in really small crates. Let's not promote the abuse of wild animals. They deserve freedom.

Don’t get me wrong. There are some interesting and beautiful things to buy here, but be weary. Some of the venders are sharks. They will take advantage of you if you are not careful and WAY overcharge for some of the products. Don’t be afraid to barter with them. I was able to get some things for half of what they quoted me. And who knows maybe I still overpaid? Nonetheless I’m happy with what I got there.

Outrageously overpriced! Either haggle your way down to 20 pesos for items or head to chichen itza where the exact same goods are a fraction of the price. The sellers are extremely rude and aggressive. All of the food here is also exceedingly overpriced and they force you to add a 20% tip and charge extra for using a card even if you just order a drink to go.
