Balogun market is arguably the largest market in Nigeria and indeed West Africa. The market has no particular address because It’s a sprawling market that’s spread across so many streets on the Lagos Island. Balogun market is the best place to get great bargains on different fabrics: laces, ankara and office wears and shoes. This market is best explored with someone who knows the way around and understand how to bragain.

The busiest open market in Lagos, obe place you can get whatever it is you are looking for from groceries, to clothing, shoes, lingeries, beauty products, even food stuff.... It's such an amazing market when you really need to be smart or be swindled, some go out to sell, others go to find who to swindle, some out to steal just like in any open market in the world. You will battle with identifying the one that is really fake and genuine sometimes😀, but aside that if you have time, there is so much to explore and find in this market. I remember when this market used to be so tight, human traffic was unparalleled, but all that seems to be in the past as LASG have really done a great job as you walk through to an extent with ease. It's an interesting and beautiful market if you have the energy 😀

I like their African (Ankara) fabrics. The gele (African head scarf) is really good. Their customer service is just a wow effect. Will surely come again.

This is a good place to shop for the fabric to use to make your dress when you are at the central business district of Lagos. Clothing fabrics like aso-oke, lace and ankara for events and also personal use are sold here. It does not have a wheelchair accessible parking. I do not advise people who want to bring their children to do so as the market is always busy and there is always congestion of Vehicles and motorcycles. They open the normal time when the market opens and also closes when the market close.

Lace fabrics, jewellery, African prints (ankara), shoes of every kind... the list is endless are gotten here at whole sale prices. You won't get cheaper prices elsewhere. Also watch out for the quality pls because you can be scammed... that is made to pay higher for a lesser quality. But if you know your way, you can vwry good deals.
