The Wonders of Florida in 24 Museums

"In 1946, grocery stores began stocking the patented “burping” plasticware that would come to revolutionize the world of leftovers. A polyethylene brainchild of Earl Tupper, the Tupperware Seal of Freshness has also become a seal of American ingenuity—and at the Tupperware Confidence Center, a statue of an actual seal. “Tuppy” the Tupperware seal is just one of the many wonders of the museum housed at the company’s headquarters in Kissimmee, Florida. Keen observers will note that the stone personification is, in fact, a sea lion and not a seal, but reality has never stood in the way of a good marketing campaign. Under Tuppy’s watchful gaze, visitors can unlid the vast history of the durable container brand by perusing plastic porringers, vintage dining sets, an early molding machine, and even the company’s breakthrough product, the Wonderbowl. Alongside vintage machinery and products, there’s also a wide array of colorful, touchscreen displays, some of which demonstrate how lightweight, airtight storage has shaped dining, leftovers, and beyond. Visitors might wonder why the space is called is called a “confidence center.” This is tied to the company’s “chain of confidence” campaign of empowering women, which is also celebrated in the museum. The entrance features a tribute to Brownie Wise, the woman behind the “Tupperware Party,” an event by and for women focused on selling the product. She eventually became Tupperware’s vice president of marketing, and the first woman to be featured on the cover of Businessweek. While Wise was essential to Tupperware’s success, she often clashed with Earl Tupper, and he forced her out of the company in 1958. Still, she left an indelible mark and inspired generations of businesswomen. If, by the end of your journey through the museum, you’d like to find some functional containers of your own, swing by the Tupperware Gallery, connected to the museum. And if you’re feeling brave, the museum allegedly harbors a Tupperware casket, but you’ll have to request to see it, as they tend to keep a tight lid on it." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

The museum wasn't much to see honestly. It was kinda cool to see some of the vintage Tupperware, but a bunch of the video screens weren't working. However, the outlet store/gift shop was great! Amazing bargains! It was worth the trip just for that. Sadly, only one person works there so if he's not working that day the outlet store is closed.

I have passed by here many times and recently found out that they were open to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 pm to 4 pm. They have some beautiful displays of which many are dated of their products. They even have a 1940s injection molding machine thar was used in the production of their products. The best part is that they will likely have pieces you may be missing from your own sets for sale. It is worth the trip there to see what they have.

Tupperware is a big joke!! I filed a claim for several pieces that were cracked and my warranty codes that were approved expired before the expiration date and would not work. I had to send many emails and they still could not solve my issue and would respond with a different answer to what I was asking. They finally gave me some partial credit and sent me new vouchers after I refiled the claim (they told me to re-file). I was online trying to order and I figured I could make a purchase and enter all my vouchers at once and get credit all at once but that is NOT the case. I have seven vouchers which means I have to do 7 different orders and pay shipping 7 different times. WHAT A JOKE!!! Tupperware.com you all are a joke!! #tuppewaresucks #tupperwarewastedmytime #tupperwareisasorrycompany #tuppewaredoesnotcaretocatertocustomers

Adverted as open, called and was told still open. Drive up and it is closed down. The customer service people in MEXICO don’t know what’s going on. And false advertisement

I’m LITERALLY so sick and tired of this entitled company which is barely hanging by a thread as it is being so incredibly BOLD with its customers money! That I’m now writing a review on Google! Come on TW! Maybe this is WHY you’re going BANKRUPT! I just ordered two sets of the first photo and they substituted my items with two sets of the second photo! NOTHING like the first photo! NOT asking my permission! NOT sending me an email! Nothing! AND THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS Happened Either! You’re so BOLD Tupperware! This is other people’s money! I’m using these for gifts! I needed a specific size! Shape And Color! That’s exactly why I picked what I picked! DUHH! Your products are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and 20% extra to ship!!! You literally have some nerve. I’m so sick of how you don’t value your customers Money!!!

Disaster! The Tupperware Shop and Museum are now Closed. The beauty of this iconic building is fading rapidly with the lack of maintenance and gardening. A sad loss. We weren't the only people wandering around aimlessly having travelled miles to discover the closure.

We live in Celebration FL and drove here to check it out - it was a short drive and SO worth it! The lady at reception ( I think her name was Stephanie,) was so kind and thoughtful! She welcomed us in, and took us back to the retail store. WOW! The items in there are awesome, incredibly priced, and great value. We were thrilled to bits with what we purchased. We also looked around the museum of Tupperware, and saw so many things that we remembered from childhood , a trip down Tupperware memory lane! The museum is free, and although small - its still very fun. HIghly recommend heading out here for great prices and a bit of nostalgia!

Google
Can someone from this company please put the correct hours of business? It says Tuesday and Wednesday 1-4 here. I called their customer service and they said it is open Monday to Friday (?) but is for some reason closed until October 17th without any warning to people. I was about to travel 2 hours to visit for a birthday and planned a trip around this. Is there no way to call and reach this location and get a straight answer without being redirected to customer service for products globally?

Yelp
In the lobby of Tupperware's World Headquarters there is a small display area of past and present Tupperware containers. Many items most people will recognize as the items they have or their parents have. Then you enter a store filled with all the latest items for purchase. The prices averaged 50 % off ordering online or at a Tupperware party. Most of the items are for display. The manager is present to bring out wrapped items from the stock room. He was very helpful and answered all our questions. There are a lot of items to purchase. You can spend an hour in the store. The new post Covid hours are limited to Tues, Wed, and Thurs 1-4 pm. If you like Tupperware you will really appreciate this store.

Yelp
It seems that this venerable food storage company may be leaking air and like Avon before them, the in-home suburban confabs known as the "Tupperware Party" may be no more. Sure, suburban housewives long ago joined the workforce leaving little time for Tupperware, Avon and Mary Kay but Tupperware has a unique set of problems namely environmentally conscious younger consumers who shun plastic for glass and... the age-old complaint over cost. It seems burping your leftover Broccoli in airtight plastic ain't cheap especially when Ziplock bags, Rubbermaid and Pyrex are one third of the cost, or less. We'll see if a revival is in the offing since they only have to look towards Amazon, Target and Macy's to lift sales. Tupperware has been around since 1946 and I for one, love the stuff but I also don't hug trees in my spare time either. BURP... five airtight stars and spare me the parties.

Yelp
I completely reworded this review to make it very clear I know and have been to this location pre Yelp days. If I have to have check ins and photos then I guess my review will be removed once again. Sorry about having to repost. Tupperware World is a cool place to visit in Orlando. I lived in Florida off and on for 40 years. I have been to this location pre Yelp days. I spent a lot of time visiting attractions in the Orlando area. This location is nearby their National Headquarters in Kissemmee, Florida. You must visit if you're a huge Tupperware fan like I am. I didn't have a phone with a camera at the time. I'm posting a couple photos of the Tupperware from my Tupperware Collection. I'll always be a fan. Tupperware Brands Corporation was founded as The Tupperware Company in 1946. In 1951 they moved their headquarters to Kissimmee Florida. My parents moved to Florida in 1955 so I'm very familiar with the business. We used Tupperware for Four Generations now. I used to be one of those women that had Tupperware Parties in my home. I would receive so many cool free gifts. The product really sold itself. It was so much fun. I continued to have these parties after I had my daughter. My Mother left me her collection of Tupperware also. I still use many of the pieces after all these years. My daughter still has some too. They never wear out. I love this brand! I'm sure to return to visit Tupperware World when I am able to get to Orlando. I'm recommending you visit if you like this sort of housewares product.

Yelp
We drove out to see the Tupperware exhibit and shop in their store because we read about on Atlas Obscura and we love quirky tourist attractions. When we got there - they were closed. The museum exhibit and store. Closed. Even though their website said they are open - they were not. We did speak with a staff person who said they have been closed since the beginning of the pandemic - but they have never updated their website. She said they are supposed to reopen in mid to late June. You can visit the campus outdoors. They have a statue of the mascot Tuppy the seal and they have some other outdoor art and a meditation garden.

Yelp
A small history with displays, retail shop attached. This is a quick stop. Extremely close to Gatorland. Worth a visit if you are in the area and like the products. Friendly staff!

Yelp
I went to the Tupperware Brand Headquarters to check out their gallery! Not many people know this, but there is a gallery/museum inside that you can check out for free! When I got there, I explored the outside first seeing as there were a lot of cool things to see, such as the flags and then some globe. Once I decided to go inside, I let the receptionist know I was there for the gallery. She then handed me a gallery visitor sticker and I was on my way. The gallery is quite small, I was expecting it to be a bit bigger since this brand is huge, but nonetheless their collection was impressive. They showed the history of how it all started, they have some videos and even a collection of Tupperware through out the years. It was a very inspiring place and you get to learn a lot about the brand. There's also a gift shop that sells things they don't usually sell in the US. It's a really nice shop.

Yelp
Tupperware is a brand my family and I have trusted for years and I was so excited to find out we could visit their headquarters and that they also have a gift shop! Just prior to entering stands a gorgeous fountain that represents the Tupperware logo. When you enter the building, you are given a visitor badge and directed to the back of the building where the museum is housed and gift shop. It isn't a huge area but it does take you through their history and shows all of the countries Tupperware and it's affiliates are represented in. Did you know they offer Spa products and men's and women's fragrances? I do now and so do you. When you head to gift shop there are items to purchase, not just from the US, but from all over the world. Items they sell in the US are different than what they sell globally. It's pretty amazing. You can also purchase items from their makeup line. Wait, did i say makeup? Yep, they have that too! Go and check it out, you may learn something you didn't know about the world's largest in home sales company. Happy Exploring!

Yelp
Online indicates that Tupperware is open 9-5 Monday -Friday. The Tupperware store is open 10-4 Tuesday - Thursday, only. 9-5 appears to be for the offices.

Yelp
Tupperware is the best product ever made bar none! Especailly with the "earth friendly" and non toxic materials they make them with NOW. I really love the New PermiaGlass..yes Glass, great for in the oven, microwave, freezer, fridge and dry storgage..you will love them!

Yelp
In Oct when I signed up to be a consultant of Tupperware, I was told wrong information from the beginning by customer service. Instead of a certain department not doing their job correctly, I was told I would not be receiving the product which I signed up to receive. The recorded phone messages, that I made to Tupperware, were not listened to from this department, they did not send me an e-mail after they made a decision. These phone calls would confirm that I am correct. Upper management is going to stick with what that department says. Even though I have waited 6 months for a resolution, wronged in different ways - Tupperware will not honor their values. My recommendation: Do not bother with this company no longer. Their values are not the same as they once were - A trusted name in every household is no longer. Do not buy their cheap plastic containers. Do you remember when Tupperware was a solid product - not no more. A fork will scratch the bowls. They do not guarantee stains, scratches or pictures that come off of the product. I remember when they stood behind this guarantee and stood behind their word.

Yelp
I placed an order on March 3rd. The items I purchased are not to my liking. I want to return them and have called customer service at Tupperware three times this morning and spoke to someone who disconnected me, another bad connection and the third time spoke to Ivan, who for 24 minutes, could not give me an RMA so that I could return this order. I also sent in an email and have not heard back from them. Look, these items just arrived 3 days ago, are still packaged and unused and I can't get a silly authorization number from them to return these things? Email - no response and Call (Ivan) - technical difficulties and unable to generate an RMA. No offer to get my phone number, so I suggested he call me back, but no - put on hold again and then I received another call and had to let that call go. I said 24 minutes, but it may have been longer. I cannot use these items - the microwave bowl is too small (Crystalwave), and the 2 QT ULTRA PRO containers are too big to rotate properly for cooking in my microwave. If anyone there can help, my order number is: 101002550487 and from there, you can obtain my contact information to contact me. Thank you.

Debbie G.

Yelp
I'm not reviewing the products I'm reviewing the customer service. It took way to long to get my order. No updates or confirmation on shipping. Is much as the product cost the company needs to care more about their customers. I will never order from this company again.

Carol C.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Tupperware. I have tons of it. In fact, someone once asked me if I had been struck by the "Tupper moonies." When someone calls other brands of plastic containers "Tupperware," I correct them. Now that I've established that I love Tupperware, I will tell you what I don't like about the Tupperware company. Their products are too expensive. One way they lure you in to pay their prices is by telling you that Tupperware offers a lifetime guarantee on their products. If it peels, chips, cracks or breaks, they will replace it for free. Well...here's the catch: 1. If you've had your item for many years, that item may no longer be available. Now what? 2. They charge you for shipping. 3. They will tell you to contact one of their representatives to get a replacement (maybe) without paying shipping. Good luck finding one near you and, if you do, good luck in getting them on the phone. If the company offers a lifetime guarantee, then I think they should pay for the shipping. I think they should send the item to me, not refer me to someone else. Do better Tupperware, please. I want to continue to say good things about you. I want to give you 5 stars. You do your part, and I'll do mine.

Yelp
We contacted Tupperware and talked to Berenice asking them about the severe smell in our modular mates. We have had them many years. We were promised LIFETIME guarantee. When asked about the BPA, Berenice told us essentially they do not pose a threat with BPA. I researched this topic and found that TUPPERWARE's products have been BPA FREE since 2010. Well, again, back to my problem. VERY VERY CONCERNED about NOT being helped by this HUGE company. I am telling all of you out there BUYERS (even of past products) BEWARE! Now, I am going on FACEBOOK

Yelp
I have been wanting to go here since I moved here 6 1/2 years ago. They have a beautiful campus, plenty of parking. It was interesting reading the history of the company. The gift shop had many of their products. I needed 2 covers for modular mates and the sales associate told me how to get the product number and gave me a sheet and told me how I could get replacements. When I hot home, I called the toll free number. Because the covers were cracked I didn't have to pay for them. I did have to pay a shipping and handling charge of $5.95. I did get them within a week.

Yelp
I was very upset over even having an interest to start a business; & I have been being charged for a website I never used and they just kept on charging me until I finally called to find out what the hell I was being charged for every month; instead of them trying to credit me for a website I never used and apply that to the $60 they sent to collections; THEY REFUSED! I will never do business with them because of this stupidity and lack of even giving me a courtesy call or message to inform of me of this!

Joey P.

Yelp
Tupperware contacted me and resolved my issue. They did send my order, and send a small apology gift as well. Still not happy about having to wait 3 and a half months for my order, and having to spend hours on the phone with customer service.

Yelp
Really disappointing. The people were snotty. I had to beg for help. We came here years ago with some items to exchange because they were damaged. There was a different welcome center then and the people were so kind and we're practically falling over each other to help us. This place, not so much, I brought some things to exchange and they looked at me like I had two heads. The reason I brought them is because it was too expensive to ship it. They told me that is no longer done at this location but it is done in the Carolinas. The thing is, I had called Ahead about the return and they told me it would be fine. The merchandise here is OK. You know it's all made in the United States but the foreign pieces are way more expensive. I bought a cupcake holder on sale and that was it. Now my stuff is being shipped off to hopefully be replaced. All I can hope for is that I see it again. Even if you are a huge Tupperware fan like I am, I don't think I would consider this your Mecca.

Margie D.

Yelp
I have always liked Tupperware until very recently. I purchased $166.42 worth of Tupperware items at a craft fair back on April 6, 2019. The consultant billed my credit card on April 17, 2019 so they received their money for items that I still have not received. To this day the consultant still has not responded to my emails. I have made three calls to the 1-800-Tupperware phone number and keep getting the run around. First I was told they would ship my items out and I would receive them in two weeks. I waited patiently and it was a few days after two weeks, no tupperware. I called and was told that I need to contact the consultant, they can't ship my items. I am suppose to contact a consultant who does not respond. I asked to talk to a supervisor, of course, he wasn't there but I should call back in one hour. Called back in one hour, he still wasn't there and I should call back in two hours. Not happening, give me another supervisor. I told him that I no longer want the items, please give me a refund. He told me that they need to send a complaint to the Escalation Dept, they will get in contact with the consultant. If they don't hear from her, they will try to get authorization to refund MY money. I will never buy Tupperware again and I will not recommend them to anybody!! Tupperware use to be a great company but they sure changed and don't care about their customers.
