Turkestan Hotel

+ Close to the Green Basar (good option to buy fruits, vegetables and doner) + Friendly staff + Good breakfast for the price (crêpes, jam, boiled eggs, fried eggs, bread, cheese and sausage, salad and porridge) + Shared shower has a large space to undress and redress + Standard single room size ok + Free potable water on the floor + Comparable cheap single rooms for Almaty - bathroom (private toilet) little - horribly ugly and dirty carpet in most of the single rooms (disgusting) - no air-conditioning in the room - mattress was broken and ugly as well (but fortunately the blanket mostly covers this)

Good location, nice room, clean, good ac, very nice staff. Not the best wifi but works. Just next to green bazar and central bus station English was not realy useful but all workers tried really hard to help and answer questions despite that. I reccomand.

Near to food and local bazaar. Walking distance to mosque. Elevator available in hotel. Breakfast provided. Friendly counter staff.

Does what it says on the tin, it's cheap, its central and its clean. What more could you ask for.
