Google
An incredibly peaceful, beautiful, and entertaining experience! Michele poured our tasting and he was fantastic! Super engaging, knowledgable, and funny! Turley has a beautiful tasting patio and inside bar as well, and the fee is super low price too!

Carl Foisy

Google
When you find good wine, you make time to enjoy it over and over again, and Turley is a place where you can find good wine….like their Petit Syrahs n Zinfandels….estate wines from Paso and Unique vineyards from Nor Cal. We enjoy visiting this place because they have a cool rack of tasty vino….so we stock up to enjoy at home. The young Italian guy who helped up on our last visit was superb too. Very funny and down to earth. We’ll be back.

C Marie

Google
Wonderful experience Michael the nice Italian man provided exceptional customer service. Cindy was also wonderful. Would highly recommend stopping into this winery. The wine was amazing we shipped 9 bottles home.

Lydia S

Google
Great tasting and delicious wine! Cindy did our tasting and was super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!

Google
Had the absolute best wine tasting experience at Turley vinyards with Michele Gargani! His expert knowledge spans from the vine to the bottle! An overall spectacular experience! As long time Turley members, We always request Michele for our tasting! Cant wait for our next Visit! Thank you Michele!!💕🍷💕

Sandra Griffin

Google
Had a fabulous tasting with Michele Gargani as our host today!!! He is extremely knowledgeable and loves to share his knowledge as to how it relates to each wine. When we make our reservation we always ask for Michele.

At the Turley 8-course Tapas Style Zinfansdl Dinner at the Wine Vault in San Diego all wines presented were just wonderful. Being the Rose princess that I am loved the Rose, the Steacy Ranch and the Dusi. The Hayne was max the best zin I ever sipped. GREAT wines all around. Look forward to enjoying my purchases...

Best Zinfandel Ever! Trekked down from NoVa just for Turley!

Viri C.

Yelp
Had a lovely Winter tasting at Turley. We sat indoors and enjoyed the holiday cheer. It was busy for a cold day in December, however, our host never skipped a beat as we tried their various Zinfandels. We will definitely be back.

Katie R.

Yelp
We came to Turley after learning it was formerly the site of one of the first wineries in Paso. We were also very excited by the fact that they specialize in Zinfandel! We came in on a Saturday morning without a reservation and were able to sit inside their tasting room. They had a lovely patio with lots of seating outside as well, so if you can make a reservation on a nice day, definitely try to sit out there! We were helped by Cindy, who was knowledgeable about the wines and the history of the winery. She told us a bit about the history each time she came to pour, and gave us wonderful food pairing recommendations for each wine. The pours were on the smaller side, and we sometimes had to wait a little while between pours since they were pouring between inside and outside, but it was a casual tasting and the place had a nice vibe to it. These weren't our favorite wines of the trip, but we did end up going home with a bottle of one of the zinfandels.

Yelp
We had a lovely tasting recently with Stacey. Love all the Zinfandels!! The weather and patio were perfect. They don't have a wine club per se but they do have an email distribution. Like most wineries, they waive their $25 per person tasting fee with a minimum 2 bottle purchase. We happily purchased their delicious Zins! Big range in flavor profiles. We'll be back and request Stacey; she was personable and knowledgeable. Much thanks for a lovely afternoon tasting! Plenty of shaded parking. Check out the inside seating, merch, and decor. Very cool!

Gretchen R.

Yelp
So glad we tried Turley on this trip to Paso. Really great zins made from grapes from different regions. You just feel at home here and they're dog friendly inside so bonus points! We will definitely return

Courtney O.

Yelp
A win for zin! If you're going to come to Turley, you better be a fan of Zinfandel. The menu is chock full of zins made from grapes across California. They are known for their old vine grapes and their ability to restore old vines to production. The wines were delicious and enjoyable. They did have one petit Syrah on the tasting menu that was fabulous. We were met with friendly service and an informative tasting. They have a cozy indoor space as well as a small outdoor patio. Be sure to make a reservation!

Mary D.

Yelp
We were visiting Paso Robles area and it had been suggested we visit Turley for their Zins. They did not disappoint. It is a lovely tasting area and our wine steward person was delightful - I'm sorry I don't remember her name. She let us try a couple not on the tasting menu that we were very interested in, and of course, that's what we bought. One of our party broke his wine glass and when I went inside the building to get help cleaning up, the first question was "what were you drinking" so they could get us new glass and refill it ! Then they came out with a broom :) just a great visit.

Dee M.

Yelp
Our very 1st member event was exceptional. We got a lesson in pruning the vines w/ Jose & Brennan + enjoyed meeting Larry & fellow members as we walked the stations for wine & food pairings. A accomplished female sax player performed as well. Pesenti Vineyard Petit Syrah ... oh so perfect- & served with polenta & mushroom ragu. Such a beautiful day for a party! Kudos to Larry. He & his amazing staff hit it outta the park!

Angie K.

Yelp
Always enjoy our visit. Miguel was great! Learn something new with wine making. Look forward to is it again soon to pick up the fall release. If you like Zinfandel, this is a must stop when you are in Paso Robles.

Terry K.

Yelp
Contuniation to my incomplete review.... so sorry... Old Vines... Young Love Turley Wine Cellars is located at the Pesenti Vineyards in Templeton. A place to visit for a nice tasting, experience the ambiance of "vineyard" life with modern tasting benefits. I have been a Turley lover for years and learning the history of Larry Turley and his foresight made me appreciate the already great wines Turley produces. But enough of that FOR NOW. This review is about the Cellars and its tasting programs. here is my story Templeton, short stop of Paso Robles (they refer to PR as the "city") is Turley Wine Cellars. TWC is located within the Pesenti Vineyards (which is where the "Old Vines come from). TWC is a comfortable casual wine stop amongst the other vineyards and cellars in the area. You can visit, taste their offerings for $25 per person unless you are 1) a club member or 2) you purchase a couple bottles of wine in which case your tasting fee is FREE Their tasting staff is spot on. Our tasting guide Steve was by far the best in Turley knowledge and "wine" knowledge. Rumor has it Steve was a wine SMART in his early life. In any case, if you like Zins, Turley is the place to go. Take it from me as I've been a Turley lover for YEARS. Go ENJOY .

Nina L.

Yelp
Started our day of wine tasting at turley on a foggy afternoon. Had a lovely tasting inside and our server was very attentive. Ended up taking home a couple of bottles home. Tasting fee is $25 and waived with purchase of two bottles. Drama free tasting and reservation. We made a reservation online about a week in advance and we're seated right away. Add a stop at turley to your wine tasting tour of paso.

Joan C.

Yelp
We arrived in Paso about 90 minutes before our first appointment. We called Turley to see if they could fit us in last minute and they did. We received attentive service. The wines were bold, lush and delicious. Many of their vines are over 100 years old. I highly recommend!

Joseph K.

Yelp
Love this place. Stacy, our wine guide, walked us through the zinfandels on the menu - and they did not disappoint. Starting with an Old Vines zin and just getting better and better from there. This place has a ton of history, and they are not bottles you can find in many restaurants outside of a select few. So try these guys out - they WILL NOT disappoint. The Dusi zin especially stood out.

Dang L.

Yelp
Came for a tasting. Great Zinfandel. Unfortunately it was our 3 tasting so I did not get too much pictures but our bartender and was awesome and we had a good time with good conversation.

Carol D.

Yelp
Turley is hands down my favorite winery in Paso Robles. Their wine is truly liquid gold and their staff is super friendly. We arrived around 3PM (after a long drive from Orange County) and they were gracious enough to take us without a tasting appointment and for that we were grateful. Turley is always our first tasting stop and by the end of each trip, we always end up purchasing more of their phenomenal wine before heading home. Melania was our hostess and she provided top notch service but we never expect anything less when we visit Turley. I purchased a couple of bottles of the Old Vine Zinfandel and a Couple of bottles of the Pesenti Vineyard Zinfandel, both AMAZING. I will probably end up with a bigger Turley haul by the end of the weekend. ***highly recommended***

Mary R.

Yelp
We had an amazing wine tasting experience at Turley on 1/5/2024. Our Wine Tender Taryn had a solid knowledge of all the wines she poured us & helped make some great selections for wine to take home. She also has extensive knowledge about the wine industry in general, which is always interesting & informative. Taryn is the perfect blend of personable & professional, which made for a very enjoyable time, it was a true highlight! Thank you for having her on your team, I know she will go far in this field.

Stephen B.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting experience at Turley. Sitting on the outdoor patio made for a great backdrop to our trip. Stacy was knowledgeable and engaging in her descriptions of the wines we were tasting and helped place the wines in context with where the grapes were sourced. I highly recommend booking a reservation.

Richard L.

Yelp
Amazing, Breathtaking, Stunning, Startling, Sensational, Spectacular!

Craig W.

Yelp
Turley makes killer zins. They also make wines using other grape varietals but for zins, I think they might be the best around. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The interior is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of seating. There is also a good-sized outdoor patio. Kids are welcome but there is really nothing for them to do here. Excellent highly-rated wines and the prices are not as bad as they could be.

Kathleen H.

Yelp
The wine itself was delicious ( we love zins). The tasting pour was the lightest pour we have had in our 3 days here. Might have purchased if we got more than a sip. The breadsticks to cleanse the palate was a nice touch. Not much in the way of outdoor ambiance. Worst sever we experienced throughout our stay. He was more interested in his conversation inside. We were an afterthoughtt.

Tammy D.

Yelp
First time here and we made a reservation ahead of time per their policy. We sat inside and it's beautiful. Service was great and we liked a couple of the wines which are Zinfandel dominate. Only reason for 4 stars was that I was not overwhelmed by the Zins, just because I prefer more jammy style

Van V.

Yelp
Down-to-earth people at this nice winery made the tasting room experience very special for us. We loved all the reds poured during our late morning visit. My friends are already on their wine lists and sometimes order for delivery. So they were return visitors. My first time. I especially liked the Judge Bell Zinfandel.

Vicki L.

Yelp
Steve provided an excellent and educational experience. Great reds. Dog friendly. Chill experience.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Turley has some of the best Zins on the Central Coast. I really enjoy their tasting room and property and with so many wineries in the area you can make it a day. Be sure to pick up some of their Zins to take home as they have some really nice ones from various vineyards. Ps. As them about their secret wine club. Pretty unique. Enjoy and let me know what you favorite was?!

Marisol F.

Yelp
What can I say... This winery was recommended by many. I love the place right from the beginning they were very nice and very knowledgeable about the winery history which my husband and I look forward to learn every time we visit a new place. The wines where good and no too expensive. We end up buying Zinfandel and a white. We definitely come back for more bottles !

Atari M.

Yelp
Summary: A very commercial winery, focused on Zinfandels. Lack of variety in offerings really hurts it. Location: Located in the Templeton area. A very large commercial winery compared with many but still among the vines. Clean and polished, an overall nice feel. 4/5 Parking: Plenty of parking, all paved. 5/5 Staff: Polite and friendly. No complaints. 5/5 Wine: There is really only the one flight to try and it's just Zinfandel. So if you don't like Zin, not much reason to come here. Quality is fine though. 2/5 Price: Prices are generally reasonable, with some higher priced offerings available. No complaints. 3/5

Stacy S.

Yelp
We stopped by here on NYE Day, as they were one of the only wineries that were open at 10am. Upon arrival, we were not aware that this is an "all Zinfandel" winery, but my husband was very happy when he found out! The ladies working the wine bar are experienced and professional. We learned a lot and did not feel rushed. My husband ended up buying the 2015 Mead Ranch Zinfandel Atlas Peak. If you are a Zin lover, you can't go wrong here!

LT L.

Yelp
Had an absolutely wonderful tasting with Tracy. She was so knowledgeable and friendly! We learned so much about the winery and we're able to taste some grapes right off the vine. Can't wait to go back and buy more

Pat S.

Yelp
Such a fantastic down to earth winery with old vines and specializing in Zinfandel. My husband and I especially love Turley because the wine is wonderful and despite being a perpetual Wine Spectator top 100, the prices are reasonable. Thanks to owner Larry who is about his wine and all of us who appreciate it. We always see him at his pickup parties which are fun and casual but add green practices, donations for great causes, zoo to you animals who were rescued--it's great to be around environmentally conscious people who care. And yes, their sins are wonderful. But then there's the cab, Grenache, petit Syrah and lovely whites including an Alban vineyard Roussanne that we noticed today. So worth a visit. Lovely staff and a winery that cares and has so much history and diverse vineyards in the land of zin.

Padron C.

Yelp
So this has to be one of the snobbiest wineries in paso. The pours were the stingiest pours I have seen at any winery. You can't really get a grip on the taste of the wines due to the small pours. Would not recommend.

Brenton B.

Yelp
Our Wine Driver asked us if we liked Zin as a varietal and given it was a strong YES, he ushered us off immediately to probably the best Zin winemakers in Paso in Turley Wine Cellars. Upon arriving, we made our way into the gorgeous tasting room which was pretty popular given the number of people. Despite how busy it was we were immediately greeted warmly and asked if we were okay sitting outside with full tasting table service given the lack of vacancy inside. I'm so glad the inside was full as the tasting patio area was beautiful and a great place to relax after a long day tasting. Our tasting patio staff member was great!! She was highly knowledgeable regarding vineyards, grape growing, and the entirety of the wine making process overall. As far the wines, I would say my favorites were the Duarte Zin and the Dusi Zin in the Zin category and the Library Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon(so lucky to have been there when they had this). Excited to take our wines back home and share with family/friends. We can't wait to come back to Turley!!

Nikki F.

Yelp
This place is honestly fantastic. From the moment we set foot on the grounds, we felt welcome. We arrived just as they opened, and a gentleman happened to be walking in the parking lot. He directed us on where to park our giant van, approached us when we got out, welcomed us and told us about the winery. I personally am not a huge red wine drinker, and neither are two of my friends. It was also the morning after a long day of wine tasting, so the three of us opted out of the tasting, while 5 of my friends decided to partake. The tasting room itself is really cute and has a lot of neat stuff. We relaxed, walked around, had some water, while our 5 friends enjoyed the tasting. For the last wine, it was a white! In addition to pouring for the actual taster group, the woman serving them, let me and my two white wine drinker friends have some. This was incredibly gracious of her, as we opted out of the tasting all together. She was really friendly, knowledgeable, obviously passionate about wine and customer service. She took lots of great pictures of our group afterwards. 5 star experience, and I would recommend stopping by this place while in Paso Robles!

Philip M.

Yelp
What's not to love about Turley? The pinnacle of new world Zin wines. We keep returning to Turley because the wines & the tasting experience are exceptional. This time Stacey was pouring for us - we all agreed that after 3 days of visiting tasting rooms here, she was our favorite wine server. Thank you Stacey & Turley.

Korynne B.

Yelp
Steve, the Director of Education, is what made this a 5 experience. The flight was good and inexpensive and provided a great tasting of 4 different Zinfandels. I love Cabs but really enjoyed 2 of the Zinfandels (the most expensive) on the tasting menu. Like I said, Steve was amazing. My friend has 1000 questions and Steve answered them all with a smile. I also learned a thing or two about Zinfandels and the process which made it a truly enriching experience.

The People P.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I visited Turley this past Labor Day weekend, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great, and the wines were extremely delicious. This Vineyard is also dog friendly as we took two of our for babies, and we were very pleased. This winery represented Paso in the best light, and we will absolutely return. Highly recommend. Make sure you make reservations, as seating is limited.

James S.

Yelp
Best winery for the money in the greater Paso area. See what inspired so many other wine makers and some of the oldest vines from the area in the old Pesenti vineyard.

Judy K.

Yelp
More than any winery, the staff really try to educate you on the history on the vines, and share the stories behind the winemaker and his family. They take good care of you especially if you belong to their wine club. It was heartwarming to hear the story behind their logo - the sun and the moon represent the winemaker, Mr Turley and his wife while the stars represent their children.

Erik S.

Yelp
I originally encountered Turley Zins at the Pamplemousse Grill in Del Mar and later was reminded of them at the Gramercy Tavern in NYC. Turley makes many excellent Zins, but it's often difficult to remember exactly which is my favorite (they all have similar labels, some with icons next to the Turley graphic to indicate which they are). I visited the tasting room in April and Dec of this year. On my second visit, I was able to mark off a copy of the tasting sheet to narrow it down... and bring a bottle home. Tasting room staff is very gracious, and provided a small cheese plate to pair with the tasting. They let me bring my dog in too. Highly recommended (and Ava-approved) stop in Paso!

F O.

Yelp
Discovered Turley about 5 years ago and loved their Zins. Goes well with Chinese food. Our favorites are from the Pesenti and ubberoth vineyards. They are old vines with 30 ft roots on limestone bed floors per Steve. Steve knows which vineyards have certain soils so discover what you like and ask Steve which other vineyards have similar soil conditions. We just discovered they make cabs in their Napa vineyards. So we bout a few to try since they didn't offer a sample in the tasting menu. Also, this is a good place to buy your magnum sizes. It's a fair price for the bigger bottle.

Hannah D.

Yelp
Nice winery with a lot of Zinfandels. Made a reservation online, seated promptly on a nice outdoor patio. Bonus, they have Tesla chargers and give you little breadsticks for a snack.

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
I love Turley wines! They have the best Zinfandels - probably my favorite. They're also decent in price, with their cheapest at $23. You can join their wine club, which is NO commitment, but pickups/shipments twice a year. Members get free tastings at their tasting room, which is fun. Their servers are quite entertaining, just seems like a bunch of retired ladies in their 70s, having a great time, taking you with them! This is always one of my stops when I come through Paso Robles!

P A.

Yelp
Fabulous wines, mostly zinfandels from all over the best wine regions of CA! Staff is super friendly & very knowledgeable about the growers, the varietals & the area!

Greg S.

Yelp
Turley Wine Cellars produce some of the finest, if not, "the finest" Zins and Petite Syrahs, under the sun, from mostly organic and/or sustainably farmed vineyards! I have been so fond of them, going back to the mid-late 90s. Some of their single-vineyard designated wines are so rare, limited, highly-rated, esoteric and hard to find, because they are NOT mass-produced (in this mass-produced world), but regardless of which Turley wine you choose, you simply can't miss! The staff, specifically out of their Paso Robles location, are so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, informative, courteous, delightful, and very accomodating, specifically Koryn and Nicki. Do yourself a favor, and get on their mailing list! So many lovely wines and perks. Enthusiastically recommended (coming from a picky guy). Cheers! A+++++

Inderjeet U.

Yelp
Drove all the way from San Jose for nothing. We have been loyal customers, coming a few times per year with our kids and have never been told that kids are not allowed. Today there's a sign saying no kids allowed for their pick up party. We came and left in the pouring rain, turned away at the door. If there is a no kids Policy it should be clearly stated on the invite, not at the door. Completely disappointed and will not be returning.

Dorris T.

Yelp
Stopped by Turley Wineries because it was one of the wineries that was suggested to us by some good friends. We were heading to Cambria after our last stop to Turley. We met with Meg whom was just fabulous!! She explained all the wines and the wonderful stories behind each wine and where the wines came from. Very pleasant and made you feel extremely welcomed. This was by far the best winery that we visited. They had the best zinfandels that we have ever tasted. If you like zinfandels seriously try this place. And Turkey was just beautiful and very clean. We just had a wonderful time. If you stop in ask for Meg. She was awesome!! Thanks Meg!!

Danielle F.

Yelp
I'm not usually a big Zin fan but the wine here is good! Mostly known for their old vine Zinfandels, Turley delivers on the promise of something different. Tasting fee is reasonable at 15.00 and it's waived if you buy wine. We appreciated that. Also the ladies in the tasting room were so friendly. Appreciated that too! Come drink some good Zin.

James P.

Yelp
We have a group of three couples who visit different wine regions every fall. This year, we chose Paso Robles. We've had Turley Wines before coming to the winery and have always found them to be exceptional. I'm away of the history behind this place. My friend booked a tasting here several months in advance. The staff told him to please ask for their Focused Tasting on arrival, as we came on a Sunday. On arrival, the staff disappointed us greatly by declining to offer us that tasting. Adding insult to injury, they wouldn't even cheat and pour us a sample from the Focused Tasting menu. Hence, we were relegated to drinking their entry-level offerings. The result was a less-than-stellar experience for six customers. Had we not previously had their better wines or if we were wine noobs, that wouldn't have mattered, but we left with our heads down a bit.

Samar N.

Yelp
Turley is actually the first winery I ever tasted at in Paso Robles. The first time I tasted here I was not a huge fan of their wines. However since then I've been back a couple times and the wine seems to be getting better and better each time I go. (Or more likely my palette has improved). Turkey is known for their Zins but I am a huge fan of their petite syrahs. Unlike most wineries Turley doesn't have an official wine club. They have an allocation list which you can sign up for. They send you emails to purchase wine a few times a year. Turley has become a stop on my Paso list!

Jeff M.

Yelp
Wonderful producers of Zinfandel wine. This cult juice is highly coveted by those that appreciate good wine. The wait list to purchase direct is 1 year. You can however purchase at their tasting rooms at a lot less cost than those that sell their allocations in retail outlets. Turley wines are big bombs of fruit and tend to age well. These are our favorite Zins.

Tom G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite wineries in all of California - no joke. The tasting room is comfortable and beautiful without being pretentious, there's generally plenty of parking, the wines are fantastic, and the tasting room attendants are awesome at describing the wines, the appalachia, and the history of each vineyard. Donna really knows her stuff and is especially great at her job! If you're in Templeton and in search of great zinfandel, this is a special place.
