How I Travel: Sheryl Lee Ralph Picks Up Beauty Tips in Every Country

"I came up to Vancouver—I'm here often because I shoot a series here called Motherland: Fort Salem—and I discovered a luxury resale store and you get these hardly or gently used Chanel, Vuitton, anything. They're just done with such care. It's called Turnabout Luxury Resale. Love it! That's some of the best recycling we can do is to recycle your fashion, clear out your wardrobe, sell it off, give it away."

This store has a lot of beautiful items and priced reasonably. This mink coat was sooo high quality. I can always find surprises here and it’s very nice store to shop at. Plus the sales lady was really really sweet.

Google
I had such a great experience shopping at Turnabout! The selection was fantastic – I found a dress I absolutely love. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and Tom in particular was really kind and went out of their way to assist me. Thank you!

Google
While I appreciate that your store maintains high standards by only selling items in excellent condition, I wish it had been communicated clearly over the phone that pieces with minor wear and tear wouldn’t be considered for purchase. It would have saved me a trip. Unfortunately, my experience as a seller wasn’t very positive—one of the buyers came across as somewhat awkward and dismissive. That said, I did appreciate the professionalism and kindness of the sales manager.

Google
My customer service experience with Luxe was truly unparalleled. The team was exceptional, going above and beyond in every way. They were prompt, kind, personable, and professional, always happy to answer my questions without ever making me feel like I was a bother. I’m absolutely committed to being a loyal customer and would highly recommend them to anyone. Luxe makes it so easy to support local, family-run businesses, and it’s evident that they genuinely value their customers and their experiences :)

Google
I’ve purchased brand new designer shoes for 70% off retail and some amazing dresses, all for a fraction of retail! Love seeing what treasures they have in stock.

Google

Google
Had an amazing experience at Turnabout Luxe! Their selection of vintage pre-loved luxury goods is truly impressive. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help with any questions I had. If you're looking for unique and high-quality luxury items, this is the place to go. Highly recommend! 🌟👜

Google
Main Street location, especially the buyer Zoe, along with the team. They did an amazing job pricing 129 pieces of jewelry. Btw they are at that location if you want to take a peek. The team did this in an incredible amount of time, and the prices were bang on and fair. I just want to send a shout-out to the team and the so ever lovely Kristen who is the stellar manager. It's been over 10 years shopping and selling to Turnabout. Thank you for all that you do.

Yelp
Quality Merchandise: The clothing items are in excellent condition, and you can find high-quality brands at reasonable prices. Variety: They offer a wide range of styles for women, catering to different tastes and preferences. The stores strategically stock items from that specific neighborhood they are located. Price: There are things that you definitely score, especially with their points system or monthly sale. They're adept at setting reasonable prices for merchandise, it may have increased slightly, but it's still fair pricing. Their appraisers are knowledgeable in pricing strategy. Staff: They have a ton of stuff, so browse around. The staff members are helpful and some are knowledgeable, providing assistance when needed without being pushy. Consignment Options: If you have gently used designer clothing to sell, they do price it reasonable. I like coming to the South Granville Luxe location, and I have scored many many deals and upfront discount from the managers. I also drop some items for them to sell. And they're on the ball that if your stuff doesn't sell, they do email you for pickup. The ladies are fantastic .

Yelp
This store is a joke. Sign on door saying they charge $100 for counterfeit clothes but then has OBVIOUS fakes in their windows. I turned down a job here years ago when I saw the crap they were trying to sell as real Chanel. BUYER BEWARE.

Jamie P.

Yelp
I visited the store on Commercial. Some decent stuff for purchase. As for their buying policies? Ridiculous. They won't consider buying unless you meet some sort of minimum. Also the attitude of the one buyer I spoke to was quite dismissive and condescending. I might go back to buy, but if you have any higher end clothing items you want to pass on, definitely 'pass on' this buyer.

Yelp
In the past, I spent a lot of money at this store, though the staff's habit of following me around asking multiple times "may I help you?" made me uneasy -- and I see from other comments that probably hasn't changed. The final straw was when I said I had an account, and then read over the clerk's shoulder an unflattering description of myself re. age, appearance and my "shy" personality. WTF?? I have no idea why they need a description of their clients! When I started laughing in shock, the clerk hurriedly pressed the backspace and erased it. Now I see there's a location on Commercial near me, and I'm in the mood to give them another try. But I guarantee you at the Granville location, if you don't dress up and look like you have money, you'll be judged. I wonder if they still have the descriptions? Try to peek at the screen or ask to see your full account, and report back. :)

Yelp
Hmm. My review (negative) below was visible on Yelp only when I was signed in -- why? ETA: I'm back to main page, and it is not visible again. Does it need to be "recommended"? By whom. But to sum up: beautiful clothes, but be prepared for snobbery, judgement and being monitored closely if you don't appear wealthy.

Yelp
I was initially turned off by this gi-normous Winner-esque consignment shop (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rQ70c5QwlPvDPtF7H-vF_A?select=FsJrp5HjmzrKs23c8U7LKA)...But after rummaging through the endless racks of tops and bottoms, I was surprised to find that *most* still had their original tags attached!! Awesome. And though a tad pricey, the "final" sale price was a considerable reduction from the original, esp. since most were designer labels. As I spied a few ladies appear seemingly out of nowhere, I realized there's another floor! Just towards the back and down the stairs, you'll find even more - shoes, blazers, winter coats. See http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/rQ70c5QwlPvDPtF7H-vF_A?select=qkpBkgEVW8wTW4XBFq5Qww Woah. I so need to come back here. Though nothing begged to come home with me this time, I can totally see the potential in this gold mine.

Yelp
Love all the Turnabout store. Such great finds for items I'd never be able to afford full price.

Yelp
i LOVE shopping here! my mother and i found turnabout while strolling the neighborhood around 7 years ago, and have been visiting them regularly since their selection of designer clothes are just superb! i have found gorgeous ann demeulemeester and rick owens pieces, as well as score well kept secondhand prada and balenciaga bags here. they often receive brand new pieces too-- ive bought an alexander wang dress with the original holt renfrew tags attached at a fraction of the original retail! like other reviewers said, theres always a sale happening. just check the tags-- markdowns are automatic and if youre lucky, you might be able to wait for a piece to go on sale ;)

Yelp
I went in to the Granville location today to purchase a couple of items for some upcoming events. Now that the restrictions are lessening I realized how I really need to upgrade my wardrobe. I showed up in my gym clothes and I was treated like a queen. I was approached by this lovely stylish woman named Sharday. Apparently, she just started working at the shop but she knew where everything was and pulled a number of items for me to try on She was engaging, sweet and very complimentary. She didn't push me to buy anything. I couldn't believe the prices and the quality of the clothing. Everything was stunning and Sharday assembled outfits for me so now I know how to wear everything together, which of course after spending more than 2 years in yoga pants was very helpful! The other staff members were also kind and very helpful. I plan to return for other events I have coming up. Thank you for such a wonderful shopping experience!

Yelp
BEST PLACE FOR SECOND HAND QUALITY CLOTHES HANDS DOWN. I've been coming here since I was 10 years old and I am now 25. I could not say more better thing about Turnabout. Have found so many GORGEOUS pieces for incredible prices, and I am a fashion stylist who is VERY picky when it comes to clothing. They are very selective of the pieces they accept, but if you happen to find something wrong with the clothes, just bring it up to them and they'll give you an additional discount if there's a loose thread or a small hole. They almost always have a sale going on (%10, 20%... up to %80) and it's so exciting to shop there because of that. Whatever the price is listed, it's always cheaper than that! Seriously.. no point in going to any other store. I bought several barely worn shoes (John Fleuvog, BCBG) for $45 each. They have several locations and I recommend bingeing and visiting them all. I never leave empty handed.

Ashley M.

Yelp
After having terrible success with other consignment stores in the past (as a consignor), I'm SO HAPPY I tried my luck at Turnabout! They're ORGANIZED. I love that I can log onto their site and see my sold and unsold items and how much money I've made. Also, I was super happy with the effort they put in to SELL stuff. My items sold faster than at other stores I've used in the past, and the pictures they take and post on their site and social media are awesome. Overall super impressed.

Yelp
Great selection and reasonable prices. The staff was helpful, and I was happy with my visit. That being said: I've only gone once so far (but will be back). Also, the experience could have been relative to the poor service and insane prices of the consignment store near it - which paled in comparison.

Yelp
4.5 stars This is one of the best consignment stores in Vancouver. They have other locations, as well and it will depend on what you are looking for. The one on broadway is younger and less high-end designer. This on one south Granville has a lot more high -end designer clothes. The best time to visit if you are looking for a major deal will be end of Jan-feb and end of july-august. That is when they start to deeply discount the merchandise. If you are a good digger, you can find unbelievable deals. I just bought a mike & charles leather jacket for $35 (their jackets retail from $600-$1000). Also, even if you don't want to wait for the deals, the merchandise is still much cheaper than new. I would say that most of the high-end designer clothes are priced similarly to regular prices merchandise at BCBG or Club Monaco.

Yelp
A very nice and clean shopping atmosphere with generous sales percentages (on occasions). Regular prices are rather high.

Yelp
A bit expensive sometimes, often tough to find things with the sheer volume of stuff, sometimes not so unique items (think H&M that no one wants anymore), and sometimes limited sizes...but there are sometimes also gems and good things to be found here. A patient shopper will be rewarded. Go here when you have a lot of time.

Yelp
Great store. Wonderful clothes that clearly came from someone's imagination, not some fabric-made stuff in bulk quantities that you see in most shops. There's Prada, Lanvin, BCBG, and a lot of fancy brands I haven't seen before. But not only are the brands fancy, they also make beautiful clothes, and in this particular place these clothes are affordable. You may have to look through a lot of stuff, many may not fit you, but when you find something that does you will be thrilled. Going to H&M or Forever21 after this will feel like sacrilege.

JJ L.

Yelp
I consign at both this location and Main St. I am always greeted by staff. There are 2 floors. The top floor has higher end items and downstairs, less so. There is constant good finds and I appreciate that they offer competitive prices when consigning. They do have dates listed with prices reduced as time passes. Also, for higher end items, if you are seriously interested, there is room for negotiation if the item has an upcoming reduction anyways.

Yelp
There was a store in White Rock, now moved 5 min down the st, at the Peninsula Crossing location (Now considered Surrey). I loved this place since the first time I walked in the door. As the others have said, you NEED to have time to look around- but that said, where else could I EVER buy an Armani pant suite for $50? Yes, I DID stalk it...and as they started to clear the White Rock location for the move, it got cheaper and cheaper....finally at $50, I bought it- and it fits me like it was tailor made! I LOVE this store, and always take out of town visitors there.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND it... but set aside at LEAST an hour, to find your treasure!

Vickie M.

Yelp
Sadly this store does not carry any high end vintage designer bags. Everything has to be from the last 2 years , this I was told while looking around. LV vintage is in great demand. To own a bag that is not like everyone else is carrying is refreshing. Also LV vintage is better quality than what they have been producing the last few years. Also nice to find a bag that is no longer in production. In the last year or so, I have not been impressed with this store. Whoever chooses what they stock needs to learn more about what is in demand. They selection in handbags has much to be desired. Also store way too packed in with merchandise that was not impressive. So glad that Vancouver has a good selection of better consignment stores than this chain. It has totally gone down hill.

Yelp
I shop here fairly regularly. I can always find pieces that look great in the office, but didn't cost an arm and a leg! I also found two party dresses here - great spot, you just have to have the patience to go through everything your size!

Saira M.

Yelp
It was my first visit to the Granville location. I wanted to consign some shoes and clothes. Two items were picked but only for the cash out option. Apparently I needed to bring items totalling at least $300 for resale in order to consign. I wish this was mentioned on their website so my time wasn't wasted.

Veronica B.

Yelp
I ordered a bag through LePrix from Turnaround and it was an amazing experience. The bag came beautifully packaged-a totally luxurious experience to open with a wonderful handwritten note inside too! This has been absolutely better than any experience I have had buying from fancy luxury boutiques anywhere in the world. The bag is gorgeous, a hard to find item that is in pristine condition and at a very, very reasonable price. They even thanked me for being good to the environment, which has lessened my guilt (somewhat)! I am seriously impressed and will be looking to buy more from them. Thank you!

Yelp
I have been coming to various locations of this store for a decade, both as a long-time customer and consigner. I felt compelled to finally write a review because I stopped into the South Granville location again today--I had stopped going there for the last few years as I'd so gotten fed up with never once being acknowledged by the owner (and most of the staff) in all the years I'd been going there. I decided to try it out again a few weeks ago: first 3 times, staff completely ignored me. Last two times, they actually greeted me and asked if I needed help--WOW!! I was bowled over! Even the owner said hello--unprecedented! I also found the stock to be much improved since I used to go before, so I've purchased several items. However, today I returned, and the owner rang up my purchases. Once again, she was so snobby that I remembered very quickly why I stopped going there in the first place. I thanked her at the end and she just raised her eyebrows at me...are you kidding??!! As someone who worked in a high end ladies boutique for many years, I am just appalled at how this woman treats her customers. She goes from gushing to ice cold in one second flat (gushing to others, never to me of course!). I have never met a more openly snobby, downright hostile business owner and it's a miracle she's managed to stay in business this long despite her hideous attitude. Luckily the Main St. location is filled with super friendly, lovely and welcoming salespeople--I'll stick to that one.

Yelp
I FREAKED OUT WHEN I STARTED BROWSING THIS STORE. I'm a thrift/vintage/consignment store junkie and love browsing the stores in different cities I visit to see what things the locals part with. This store is freakin' great. Can I just say there are some fabulously heeled size 10 foot women in Vancity?! Damn, wish some of the Loubs/Prada/Manolos fit my size 8 feet, but oh well. There are extremely high end options, and some low end as well. And lots in between. I walked away with Zara and Banana Republic and some other non-US brands. Reasonably priced items!

Moira M.

Yelp
I shop at the Turnabout in South Surrey often. I think the selection is great, the service excellent and the quality superb. I really like the fact that there are unique items and, unlike many of the retail stores, there's lots of variety in styles, colours and design. I also like the fact that there are always women having a good time talking and shopping together in the store. I'd highly recommend Turnabout; you're sure to find favourite pieces and a great atmospere there. .

Christie S.

Yelp
Expensive? Yes. But consider the name brands you will find here (Chanel, Elie Tahari, Armani, St. John) plus the brand-new feeling of the merchandise and you will think you've died and gone to rich-people's-castoffs heaven.
google avatar

Shila B.

Yelp
Compared to the Main street location this one is a lot smaller, however, they carry more or less the same items. A lot of wants by yours truly. Customer service was good.
google avatar

Gabriela M.

Yelp
I have no idea why I haven't been shopping here my whole life I would have saved so much money. Lots of pretty clothes to choose from that are mid to high end at affordable prices. I am super impressed. I have shopped at other higher end consignment stores before but the prices don't seem as good or the stock not as big as this store. I will be frequenting this place more often - especially this location.

Elena R.

Yelp
My regular treasure hunt destination! Love when I find something great and even better price!

Kim T.

Yelp
The clothes are ok, with some reasonable prices. Eventhough, some of the Chanel clothes did not look authentic. Me and my friend visit the store on Sat March 27, and did not happy with the service by this sale lady named Lily. She wasn't friendly at all, and very snappy every time we have a question about the merchandise. She looked at us as if we did not have the money or something. What a snobby person! I shopped early in the week, and like the staffs at that time. We were disappointed that such person was hired and serve the customers in such rude manner. She did not give any points toward our purchases, which was over $200.00 , what a cheater!!!. Would not recomended friends to buy at this store on the weekend, and serve by this sale lady, Lily.

Yelp
It's a great store, if you don't care how the owner treats her customers or staff. I just joined yelp and thought I would write a review because I have had such unpleasant experiences here. The owner is frequently at the location near where I live, and I got tired of going in there because I kept hearing her chastising her employees and gossiping about other staff. On one occasion she actually followed me around suspiciously as if she thought I was going to stuff something in my purse. The last straw was about a year ago when a staff member who was helping me gave me a coupon to use that day. When I went to pay, the owner angrily took the coupon away from me, told me I couldn't use it, and then berated her staff member (in front of me!) for giving me a coupon that was meant for members of some type of customer loyalty program. I decided not to buy the item and, obviously, not to join the loyalty program. Too bad - it could be a cool place if it were run in a less awful way. I do have friends who grit their teeth and go in there because of the good merchandise, but for me it's really not worth it.

J G.

Yelp
This is upscale consignment at its best. Much of what is featured at Turnabout on Granville is clothing from very expensive labels, and in many cases the clothes are still pretty expensive, but you can definitely find some fantastic deals here, like a pair of Prada shoes for $100 instead of, well, probably four times that. If items stay in the store for long enough, the prices keep on being reduced, so it's worth "stalking" your favourite items over time. You also get the benefit of buying stylish items that won't be on the racks of every other store. There's a lot of selection here, so you might have to dig around a bit to find your own hidden treasure, but when you do, it's worth the effort. They have everything including clothes, shoes, boots, jewelry and accessories, and the people who work there are friendly and helpful.

EC S.

Yelp
Without a doubt -- this is THE BEST consignment store in Vancouver. Clothes are always clean in some cases NEVER been worn [with price tags still on the clothes!]....the ladies that work there are ''specialists when it comes to helping you put a styling outfit together''. THEY are a class act. Friendly, resourceful, accomodating, and Fashion forward thinkers. Who needs to spend the fortune at Holts when these clothes are here at 1/4 the price or less!!!! They always have great investment pieces. Take a few hours there, because the space is huge. We love you, Turnabout!

Sylvia J.

Yelp
This long-standing women's consignment shop in ritzy South Granville recently got a facelift, giving it a glitzy upscale appearance it so badly needed. Too bad the merchandise doesn't reflect the outer changes. I am continually shocked at the state I find much of the clothing in--some are badly pilling and stained, and the prices are way, way too high. I used to be able to buy fine jewelry from time to time here but the prices are now completely out-of-reach. Same with the designer purses, which, I might add, are often damaged. Some of the staff are friendly, but a few are really snobby. It's just not an inviting shopping environment. Visit Second Look just a few doors up Granville or Happy 3 Consignment on West Fourth Ave.

Judith C.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible customer service. I have shopped here a few times over the years and found a few items I liked, but never had much interaction with staff. I decided to make an appointment to consign my clothes at the Broadway location. Before booking the appointment I was asked about the brands of clothes and shoes I wanted to consign and their condition, I was told what I had met the requirements. But when I went into the store I was treated like I was wasting their time, the woman told me that my items were too worn or not current... Many of the things I wanted to consign were brand new and worn once or even not at all, I even had clothes with tags still on from BCBG, Calvin Klein, Browns, and DKNY. I pointed this out to the woman and she basically called me a liar and pointed to the washed appearance of one of my shirts (manufactured to look that way - never worn!). I have never been so offended by a customer service experience. I would understand if the items were in fact worn or "not current" however it seemed like she was just having a bad day, utterly stressed out, and just plain rude and disrespectful of my time, not to mention I don't think she would know what "current" looked like if it was strutting on a runway infront of her.

Matt B.

Yelp
i think this store is great ,,,,Scored me a brand new Authentic Gucci bag here,,,Great shoppings :) :) :)
