Google
What a great find! Stopped at most of the breweries in Anchorage and Turnagain was the best one by far IMO. Anna and Audrey were awesome beer tenders, friendly and knowledgeable! Great beer and swag! Loved the Atlantic Haze, Mexican Lager and Nordic Freestyle,

Nate I.

Google
Really a great place to drink some exceptional beers. Definitely a better place to hang out then the other overhyped breweries in the area! Well done on the brews!

At first we were a little unsure heading in to what seemed like an industrial area, but Turnagain Brewing is a Very nice brewery with a very friendly owner. There’s a lot of history and unique stories throughout the brewery. Check out the piece of wood in the bathroom that tells where the first culture came from. Upstairs is a beautiful lounge area with a nice view and more art.

Google
Hands down the best rootbeer I have had. The American mexi was absolutely great. My husband loved your nitro stout. When I come back to Anchorage I will definitely go back. The atmosphere is so welcoming.

Google
Great dog-friendly place for fantastic beers. A food truck was next door so we were able to enjoy a pizza with our beers. If you like sour beers you have to try Turnagain Brewing. The framboise sour was my favorite. The sweet and the sour mix was so yummy.

Amanda H.

Google
Good beer. Fairly busy on a Sunday evening. They shared some gold fish crackers with my kids. They also have a few games to play. Wish we had been able to hang out longer.

Google
Always a lovely stop at this place. Some of my favorite beers and has a great local grapefruit soda. Lovely view of the mountains from upstairs, with great local art decorating the place. They also play local music through the speakers there. If you're a fan of sours then you'd enjoy this stop. Friendly and outgoing staff.

Jereme A.

Google
Always great beers and NOT IPA centered…which is rare in Anchorage! Always a great brewery choice and if you like unique Belgians, there is no better choice in town!

Yelp
A little off the beaten path, very popular with locals- you won't be disappointed! Delicious beer, specializing in flavorful sours. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was hopping, no pun intended. Food truck on premises made dinner a snap. Dog friendly (love!) & cool swag too.

Yelp
Best spot for sour beers! We got two flights, and tried nearly all their beers on tap! The Citrasaurous (grapefruit radler) and Framb Was (framboise) most, and got a growler to bring back home. Wasn't the biggest fan of their heavy Christmas ales, but curious what other seasonal beers they do! Love the salmon themed board the flights came out on and their salmon shaped taps. Will be back when in Anchorage!

Yelp
This place is great and moving up in my eyes! Always happy to have a place that serves sours! The staff here are amazing and very friendly. I love the upstairs and the space it provides for larger groups. I will return again and again. who knows maybe they will become a 5star from me.

Yelp
This awesome little brewery specializes in Belgians and sours. They have nuts for sale also, the perfect compliment. On some days they have food trucks, see their social media for their rotating schedule. I was finally able to visit recently, and partake in their beer slushy. It was a passion fruit mango sour and it was amazing. I was told to look out for the headache but I didn't experience one. The woman helping me was welcoming and warm. Their space is relaxing and quaint. I also tried their Blanca and it was the perfect Belgian. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times and there is a reason I keep coming back. The staff is friendly. The ambiance is cozy. The on-site food truck is usually good. But most importantly, the beer is delicious. Plenty of bottles to go. Not a ton of parking. The local art for sale is hip, but not cheap. In the warmer months, the outdoor seating area is very limited and doesn't offer a great deal of shade. Plan accordingly.

Yelp
Good beer, friendly service and a great food truck out front. I stopped in yesterday for a drink while brewery hopping and enjoyed my time there.

Yelp
During my recent vacation in Anchorage, I had the delightful opportunity to stumble upon Turnagain Brewing, a hidden gem of a brewery. I must say, it exceeded all my expectations with its impressive beer selection. My group and I opted for a flight of six sour beers, and each one was an absolute delight. It's a rare occurrence when every beer in a flight leaves you torn over which one you liked the most - that's the level of quality we experienced here. One thing that sets Turnagain Brewing apart is their partnership with food trucks, and on the day of our visit, we were treated to sliders that were, quite honestly, the best I've ever had. The flavors and freshness were outstanding, perfectly complementing the fantastic brews. What's even more exciting is that there were more beers on tap that we didn't get the chance to try during this visit. So, without a doubt, I'll be making a return trip on my next journey to Alaska to sample more of the fantastic beers crafted by this charming little brewery. It's a must-visit spot for any beer enthusiast.

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon Turnigan Brewing after an art class just a rocks throw away. I really dig their logo so I initially we came by just for a pint glass... THEN I saw their menu! THEY HAVE MORE THAN 1 SOUR!!!! OH MY GOD! Sours are my favorite style of beer, so without hesitation we ordered a flight of all six sours they had on tap. They were absolutely delicious. We ended up leaving with a baby growler and several bottles. Cannot wait to see what this brewery does. We will be back next week

Yelp
Well this place is amazing. Have a wide variety of Sours and Belgians. The pride and passion beer that they did for Pride Month is amazing. It is sour but not too sour. Very flavorful and refreshing for sure. It's always great stopping in here and chatting with people here. Always a great time and sometimes it's a great place to just come and have a beer by yourself.

Yelp
What a great local brewery! The beer is delicious, the tasting room is beautiful and the staff are awesome. I tried a flight and they were all delicious. I am not the biggest IPA fan, so it was great to see so many non-IPA options on the board. The tasting room was very inviting with quite a few table for groups of friends to gather. Can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
RUN! Do not walk to Turnagain Brewing. This has the most amazing view, but the view is the least enjoyable thing about this restaurant. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff kind and accommodating, but the food is unreal. We shared the salmon hush puppies, which were fresh, and paired with a homemade tartar sauce. I had the seafood chowder which was deeply flavorful and paired with a homemade foccacia. The star of the show was the halibut fish and chips my wife ordered. Wow wow wow. That's my only description. Perfectly fried, light, seasoned to perfection. Each day you spend in Alaska missing out on this place is a grave disservice. This place is incredible. Side note: check out the locally made clothing in the connected store. It's equally as incredible

Yelp
This is the closest Anchorage has to an all-round microbrewery I could make my own: - Affordable prices (sorry Anchorage Brewing Company) - Can do any style well - Offers super hoppy options (sorry Midnight Sun) - Good food on site - No TV's - Fun conversation with strangers It's located in the smallish space that used to be occupied by King St Brewing. Turnagain seems to be able to do a much more diverse docket of beers than King St ever could. The menu is divided into "American", "Belgian", and "Sours". I'm not much into Belgian beer these days, but I can't definitely vouch for the American and the Sours. I got an "Atlantic Haze", it was a great, hoppy, juicy take on this Heady Topper-inspired style. I also had a "Framb Was", a raspberry sour that wasn't at all sweet (exactly what I was looking for) with a decent pucker-factor. Bummed it took me so long to come here, I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
As others have mentioned this is where King street used to be located. The building isn't huge, but when the upstairs is open there are additional seating options. It can get crowded downstairs especially since the bar area is located right by the entry way. That area is also super small, and can't accommodate many patrons at once. I love their name, and logo. It's very creative and Alaskan. I'm conflicted on my star rating for this brewery. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately my experience was just ok. I can solidly say it was a 3.5. I like that they have a good variety of beer styles, and a fairly large selection. I was impressed that they had 12 beers on tap. They have their menu split into 3 categories which I like; makes the selection process more streamlined. I do not like that their menu gives no description beyond the beer style. One of the categories is Belgians, which is one of my favorite beer styles. I ordered the Taiga tripel, but it was just ok. It lacked complexity in mouth feel and taste that tripels typically have. Definitely have had better at other local breweries. The other two categories are American and Sour. I enjoy a good fruit sour so I had to try the famed Framb was raspberry sour. It was pretty tasty. I haven't had a beer like that around Anchorage before so kudos to them on putting out a unique sour. It wasn't overly sweet even though it's packed with raspberry juice, and had a good pucker. I think the main issue with my experience was the place was packed. There was probably 30 runners in there from the mayor's marathon. So I couldn't really look at their menu because it's located right by the serving area. I was rushed ordering because there was always a line, couldn't really ask the bartender any questions about the beer etc. This is no fault of the brewery, but it's a small place so it's not really equipped to handle a group like that plus other customers. Service wasn't bad, they were trying damn hard to accommodate everyone. But it definitely of dampens the microbrewery experience when it feels like you're at a bar on a Saturday night. Maybe should've been a "closed for a private event for a few hours" type of thing. I don't know maybe I'm being too harsh with my rating, but I left the brewery feeling pretty "meh". Definitely will give them another try though, and hopefully my opinion will change!!

Yelp
The space is a little lowkey and has a neighborhood feel to it. It definitely doesn't have the grandeur or polish of Anchorage Brewing or King Street but if you are looking for a quieter jaunt this is definitely for you. The beers themselves are excellent. I am a huge fan of Belgian beers in generally, particularly sours. They had a way array on tap, for a reasonable price to boot. They don't serve food onsite but tend to have a food truck going next door. I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in anchorage.

Yelp
This I located in the old King Street Brewery. Be warned: they don't have the popcorn machine!! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can get a flight up to 6 beers. Seating downstairs and upstairs. A lot of sour beers! Also offer two non-alcoholic child friendly drinks (lemonade)
google avatar

Estrella V.

Yelp
Cozy little brewery next to Taku Lake. Perfect for an evening visit and a drink after a stroll around the lake or after biking. I tried the Citrusaurus which has a wonderful grapefruit taste and is nicely sweet. I ended up taking home a growler and enjoy a little more. I'll be back soon!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best kept secrets in South Anchorage! Really neat looking place inside. They have a nice variety of beers to choose from. The folks that run the establishment are friendly and helpful with all the different brews. The prices are very fair too!
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
Awesome brewery in Anchorage making some of the best beer! Small taproom but with visiting. 13 beers on tap. Six sours, a hazy IPA, and five Belgians. The Rhu Fram was definitely my favorite, wow. Tasters available. Friendly staff. No food. Definitely recommend stopping by for a flight!
google avatar

Shawn P.

Yelp
Small and intimate, but in a good way. Beers were excellent, which is really what the place is all about. The location comfortable enough when not crowded. The prices are very reasonable for quality beer in the area! Parking is limited but shouldn't be a problem unless the place is crowded. The staff and owners are very friendly and personable.
google avatar

Trey W.

Yelp
Very cool and lowkey brewery... not a ton of variety to choose from, but the brews they do have are full of flavor and easy to drink. Not a ton of seating down stairs, but the upstairs seeting offers some great views through large windows. We came in just before last call so things were winding down. I appreciate how friendly the staff was even at the end of their shift. If you're in the area, its worth the stop.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service ! Sampled 3 lagers and settled on the HomeSteader ... smooth and easy ! Artwork on the wall for sale and usually have different food trucks available for eats. The day I visited "The Crepe Crew" was providing delicious crepes up stairs. Average crepe was $14-15.

Yelp
Stopped here a few weeks ago since it's fairly new. The inside seating is pretty small but I think you can go upstairs if you have a big party. They had several that we enjoyed. We got a flight and they had quite the list to choose 5 from. They even made their own framboise which was neat to try. Didn't have much luck with the food truck that was there. Still had an hour before they closed and they had turned the fryer off already plus I think we got food poisoning from it. They beer was overall pretty good but the atmosphere isn't as good as some of the other breweries we have.

Yelp
This place is simply great. Could be the most exciting brewery to pop up in Anchorage lately. It's clear that these guys are serious about beer from the get-go. As of right now, their menu is divided up between American, Belgian and sour styles. I was pretty thrilled as I really love a good dubbel or tripel now and then. It's kind of crazy that they've got about a dozen different beers happening this soon after opening their doors. Helps to ensure that you don't get tired of the same old thing. I settled for their tripel and their raspberry sour, or "Framb Was" (clever). The Belgian was quite good. All the characteristic flavors and notes were there. Just not as... I don't know, syrupy or thick as something like La Fin Du Monde. Which I suppose makes for some great summertime drinking. Can't remember the ABV on this one, but it tasted relatively moderate. I'd definitely order one again. The raspberry sour was a revelation. Just the color is a sight to behold. I didn't think it was possible to infuse this much juicy raspberry flavor into a beer along with some serious funk. Those of you who enjoy Broken Tooth's raspberry wheat will get a kick out of this one as it's clearly the superior product. It would also make for a great gateway beer for sours in general. What's also great is that they opened up the second floor. It's quite nice not having to resort to standing room only when it gets crowded. They also seem to have at least partially remodeled a little bit on both floors. All in all, a pleasant environment for inadvertently (?) getting wasted on beer. If you were a bit leery as to whether Turnagain Brewing lives up to the building's former occupants, fear not. It could be argued that they best King Street in certain areas. But everyone's a winner now that there's three amazing breweries within walking distance of each other. Praise be.

Yelp
I am a sour beer drinker, these sours for some reason weren't my favorite. I usually like fruity and super tart for my sours, I think these had a saison vibe or farm house style, lots of funk. It just wasn't my pallet but I'm sure if your into those styles you will be pleased. If your pallet is similar to mine I would suggest Anchorage brewing for your sour selection.
google avatar

Tamar V.

Yelp
Was waiting for my food at Melt (next door) and decided I been needing to try out their beers. I have always heard good things about them, but never ventured in. I picked an IPA, the Nordic Freestyle. Mmmm it's a Kipa!
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
Great brews and good company. The Zweiga is awesome, first time here and it's a great place to chill.
google avatar

Nathan G.

Yelp
Best new brewery in Anchorage! Finding a niche in specialty beers you won't find at most brewery's and that don't disappoint. Try there Atlantic Haze IPA, Framb Was, or there Triple Belgium. Excellent!
google avatar

Zoey T.

Yelp
Just found this place tonight, and the beers were great! We tried a flight so we could get a sampling. We tried several, but no IPA because we're not into them. GREAT beers!! Surprised really, because they're new, but the beers were superb.!! We should have written them down or taken photos, but neglected to. Will try to go back and add later. Downstairs and upstairs seating, and we sat upstairs. Friendly and helpful peeps took our order. We are most definitely returning. And be SURE to try the food truck parked next door, The Back Porch, for totally outstanding bbq.!! Great food. GO and try their brews!! You'll be glad you did.
google avatar

Paula S.

Yelp
I am so glad I found this place. The brews are delicious and their flights are super generous. The genre is super chill. Great place for a chill date night. Definitely recommend a stopping by here for some good vibes and brews.
google avatar

Maddy K.

Yelp
As a diehard fan of sours and fruit-forward beer, this place is a dream. Their framboise is much better than the lindeman's syrupy sweet one you can buy in bottles around town, HIGHLY recommend. Their rhubarb seasonal brew is delicious too. We've been getting growlers for lockdown and loving it!
google avatar

Judy R.

Yelp
Every bar/brewery I go to I look for sours. 70% of the time I am turned down. When I discovered Turnagain Brewing I couldn't have been more excited! Not only do they make sours but they specialize in sours! Every brew I have tried I love
google avatar

Ashleigh F.

Yelp
super great staff! lots of seating, inside and outside. lots of options on tap as well as a fridge to grab stuff to go. super great sour beer!
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
I've known the owners for years and they are total brewing geeks. Super knowledgeable and making superb home brews for years. Now we all get to drink it regularly. Highly recommend the hazy if you like ipas. Great variety of beers Incase you get tired of the fascination with ipas. Ted is also making delicious sour beers including a homemade radler. I highly recommend supporting Turnagain. They rock!
google avatar

Chantel B.

Yelp
I'm sitting upstairs by a window, winding down for the insanity that is Value Village 7 days before Halloween, admiring the view of slightly snow covered mountains, enjoying a Rhubarb Sour that is just the right amount of sour for me (someone who doesn't really like sour that much). Every now and then, I find a sour beer that's not too far gone on the sour scale, so thank you Turnagain, because I love rhubarb! While I'm enjoying the beautifully transformed, former King Street space, I realized I still needed to review the place! I've been slacking, forgive me fellow yelpers! As you can see, I'm a fan. As soon as you walk through the doors, it's so welcoming, and warm. It makes me feel content with the wicked world. The people that work here are passionate about what they do, and eager to share it with you, no matter how busy they get. As for the beer, I feel like they've got something for everyone; sours, Americans, Belgians..what's not to love? I can come here one week and feel like a Rhubarb Sour, then the following week and get a nice strong Tripel (which is being poured into my growler right now). The only negative thing I could possibly have to say is that it's not closer to home! Oh, and any day of the week, you'll most likely find a food truck sitting outside! Or you can be like me and detour to fire island first. Whatever you decide, this is the place to get a beer. Celebrate, mourn, pregame, unwind, day drink, fill a growler! Just come.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
If you haven't tried their grapefruit soda you're missing out! The owners and staff are super welcoming and it's a nice cozy environment. They have a upstairs and downstairs and feature different brews I haven't tried them all yet but so far my favorite is citrasorus (might of spelled it wrong). Definitely a place worth checking out!
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
Relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. Their prices are a little high in my opinion. I paid 14$ for a beer flight here (WAY high) and only 9$ at King Street Brewing and got to sample way more. Their menu is mostly sours (which I am not a fan of) but they had a few unique and different beers as well. I give them a 3 because a lot of their beers (even the ones that aren't sour) seemed to have a bit of a sour after taste and there isn't a large variety of beers to choose from here. BUT, if you love sours you should def come here!
