Turtle Beach by Elegant Hotels - All-Inclusive

Beautiful hotel with the most helpful and friendly staff. The food was amazing, with many accommodations for all dietary restrictions. Halal food was also available by request. The beach and pool areas were terrific. Our room had a full view of the clear ocean, and there were many activities available for all ages. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful stay at Turtle Beach, I can understand why we met so many returning guests!

We had a lovely stay at Turtle Beach. We had a ground floor oceanfront room, and it was a great view from the terrace, and really close to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It will benefit from the planned refurb, but no serious issues as it is, except the lift one side not working. Wifi was good all over hotel. We read mixed reviews before booking but glad we booked here.||Sea was too rough for myself, as poor mobility, but my husband enjoyed it when not red flagged. Beach lovely. Never any issues getting beds around pool or beach.||Not a lot outside of hotel, but about 15 min walk to Dover Beach, and bit further to Laurence Gap.||Highlight for myself was that as a Coeliac, I was able to eat like a 'normal' person. All buffet dishes are labelled with allergens, no cross contamination worries, and so able to select what was safe to eat, and eat at the same time as my husband- fuss free. In the morning the menus were on display for each restaurant, marked up or gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, nut free etc. If nothing suitable that you fancied, you completed a form, ordering something different, for nominated restaurant and time and they really could not do enough for you. Small dedicated gluten free area at breakfast too. I have stayed at some hotels I would class as being great for Gluten Free, but this hotel is top of my list, just for the pure ease of it, making me feel normal, and not waiting for either a chef to tell you what is safe on buffet, or waiting for something made specially, by which time, anyone with you has already finished eating. Loved the Ice Cream Parlour, and you could get coffee 24 hrs. ||So overall I give 4 stars, but for anyone with special dietary requirements, it has to be a 5 star.

My husband and I just returned from Turtle Beach a week ago. Overall, it was a nice trip. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was also pretty good. ||I am not going to pick on the things that other reviewers have already mentioned such as the rooms do need updating, but they were cleaned daily with fresh towels, etc.||The A/C in the room worked great. One extremely frustrating thing was that one of the elevators was not working the entire week. I have mobility issues so doing the stairs all week was very challenging.||Also, no fault of the hotel, but seaweed was a BIG problem the entire week we were there. The hotel did, however, offer a shuttle to one of their other hotels, which we took advantage of. That was very nice of Turtle Beach to do. It was appreciated. ||We met a lot of nice guests. Everyone was very nice. The people of Barbados were also very friendly and helpful.||My only other big complaint, other than the broken elevator, was the chairs on the beach ALL need to be replaced. They are in VERY bad shape.||All in all, we would return again.

Wonderful stay. Great low key resort, food was good (they can accommodate halal if you give them 24 hours heads up), nice pools. Good beach access. Great for families looking to hang out with each other.

Horrible resort. Rooms are old and outdated, the staff seem to have attitudes. I literally had to get my own drinks many of times. Never would I ever stay at this hotel again. I would never stay at a Marriott again. They really need to get with the times. All of their hotels/ resorts are outdated. Spend your money else where, not this old place.

Staff friendly and try to be helpful but the hotel should provide the most up to date information to allow for informed bookings. The hotel has a hot tub but it’s not working (and no date that it will be fixed), they have a beach but can’t swim in it due to all the seaweed (the beautiful beach’s are the main reason for coming to the Caribbean), they have a bar but you can’t eat at it (no explanation or real reason you just can’t) they have a nice pool that is open until 7 PM but you can’t get a towel after 5pm, there is plenty of food but limited healthy options (even the salads are full of cheese, creamy dressings and sugar). Little things can make a big difference to a stay and I would not have booked this hotel if it was made clear up front.

My first trip with our two year old and the resort did not disappoint.|Food- everything we tasted was really delicious and well seasoned. For breakfast however I think more food options would be a plus as it was mainly the same foods being served everyday. And if you aren't into local food there's burgers, pizzas and hot dogs offered daily... As a parent, this was extremely convenient with a toddler.|Staff - everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating. The staff made my son feel at home. He was so comfortable and looked forward to seeing them each day. They were all loving and nurturing. We had to check out earlier and they offered us a room to stay for a bit, which I think was extremely nice of them. Overall, the staff are extremely hardworking and really made us feel like home away from home. |Room- our room was spacious and comfortable. However it was out dated. Definitely needs some touching up. However, housekeeping staff was always prompt, replacing towels, sheets and other essentials. |The resort itself could use some renovations as the reviews said but although dated, the place was clean.|Kids pool - I think this was the biggest hit with our son. The kids pool was the best thing about the trip for my toddler and the bar is right next to it so us parents can "enjoy" ourselves as well.|Ice cream - was absolutely delicious! We could've had the ice cream all day. It was extremely delicious, probably some of the best tasting ice creams I've had.|Beach - maybe the only disappointing aspect- it was on the rough side and lots of seaweed present. |Overall a lovely stay, and we'd definitely visit again.

Great customer service. Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating.||We have strict dietary restrictions as a vegetation. All the chefs especially Andrew made delicious breakfast , lunch and dinner during our 6 day stay. He also made us Indian food couple of times which took us by surprise. Highly recommend esp if you have dietary restrictions and still want to enjoy food while on vacation
