We made reservations last minute. When we got there, 15 mins late, we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. We ordered apps, and they came out at the speed of light. I'm still curious as to how they did that so quickly. I went there for the king crab legs 🦀 and, oh boy, did they deliver! It was my first time having King Crab, and it was amazing 👏 🤩 We also had the popcorn shrimp, coconut shrimp, Portobello fries, and the hot pretzel. All of which were superb. But that cheese that the pretzel came with, OH EM GEEE, THAT CHEESE!!! It was next level. Chef's kiss 💋 😘

Google
First timer here, prime rib enthusiast. And I must say this was absolutely hands down one of the Best prime ribs I've had. Was so tender and juicy and soooo tasty. The calamari was so delicious and tender!!! Salad bars pretty good too!! Also our waitress Emily was amazing! Thank you !

Google
The King Crab legs were absolutely amazing. It’s a fun place with great service. Classic Alaskan vibe and atmosphere and the bar is great.

Google
Do not miss out on the prime rib! It is the best I've ever had in all of my years traveling around the world! 10/10 would recommend! The salad bar is full of amazing goodies. They have Moosehead Beer! A+++! The Coconut shrimp with the mango sauce alone made the drive worth it! Everything was absolutely legendary!

Google
Cute place but the food and service fell short of all the hype. The woman who served me, was scatterbrained or at least couldn't remember what she was doing, when she was doing it. I'd heard so much about the place, thought I had to visit. The food was eh. I was really looking forward to a salad bar but it, too, fell short. The best part was the drive out there, very scenic and peaceful.

I'm sure glad we found this Turtle Club 6 of us from Tennessee had dinner July 8th 2024. Amazing atmosphere food and let's not leave out the drinks. Wow they were good 😋 . Lets give a huge shout out to our waitress Tony she had us rolling. I'm giving it a TEN.

Google
The Turtle Club has an expensive menu. I rate it $$$ out of 5. I originally wanted the King Crab Legs. It was labeled M.P. which at the time of this review was $150 for 1.5lbs of crab legs. The prime rib is bland. It was about $40 for a slab of meat. Granted it was juicy and probably about an inch thick however, it lacked seasoning. They did have a Salad bar in which you were granted one trip to with the meal unless you pay an additional fee for unlimited. The server Melissa was very attentive. She explained the items on the menu in detail. They also have a bar area where you may be seated on a first come first serve basis. Also it’s suppose to be a high end restaurant but there is no dress code. If you want prime rib then go ahead and give this is place a try.

Google
To summarize my experience, it was okay at best. - The prime rib fell short of expectations, lacking in flavor and tenderness. - The halibut chunks seemed to lack freshness, giving the impression of frozen food. - The complimentary bread served was notably cold. On the other hand, the fried mozzarella was alright. However, a highlight of the meal was the salad bar, which I found to be quite enjoyable and refreshing.

Yelp
Amazing place! We took my son to the Turtle Club for his birthday and it did not disappoint!!! The food and the service were amazing!! Recommend 100%!

Yelp
Lemme start by saying the food was mostly delish! We just moved to Alaska and everyone said we gotta try this place so we went yesterday for my birthday. It's a place u feel u should be dressing up because of the menu but actually jeans and a tshirt work just fine lol. We ordered the sautéed shrimp which was fantastic!!!! The king crab which was even more fantastic!! My daughter and I shared these and it was plenty for both of us. It came with a choice of sides so we got the baked potato and the cheesy potatoes which were both pretty good. Lance got the lobster combo and here is where the experience kind of took a turn for me even tho it was still pretty good the lobster was severely over cooked almost to the point it was kind of that mush. The steak was undercooked we asked for medium rare and it came very rare. And the rice pilaf was just kinda not good. It was unusually sweet but just kind of had a weird taste. The service was nice tho. And I guess I just kind of had an issue that when you order dessert they bring a tray with all 8 or 9 items they have which is great except they are plastic it's the real deal so for food safety they are bringing food out showing it to the table then whatever the guest doesn't pick they bring it back to the kitchen and then bring it out again for the next guest to look at. It's sooooo unsanitary from a food handlers perspective. Not sure how the manager thought this was something that would be considered a good idea but to each their own. All in all honesty it was a good experience just a few things unfortunately made it not an exceptional experience.

Beth M.

Yelp
Not a very good experience at all, this place is overrated, over priced, Queen size steak wasn't even grilled, looks like it was steamed, drowned with Au jus, rice pilaf was over cooked, salad bar looks like it was never checked for hours, alfalfa was all over the counter, grated cheese on ranch dressing the only good thing in my order was the bread. I wished I can say anything else positive! But I can't!

Yelp
We had a great dinner at the Turtle Club. The restaurant was very nice and cozy. Just a short drive out of town. The service was very friendly and attentive. Every dinner menu item included a free run at the salad bar. The prime rib was so good everyone in my family loved it. And as tourists the Alaskan King Crab legs are a must try! We loved everything about this place and so glad we came.

Abbe K.

Yelp
A delicious spot for dinner where you can drop $15 for an all-you-can-eat salad bar or $200+ for 1&1/2 lbs of King Crab Legs and prime rib. The glasses of wine - with a large variety to choose from and many from Alaska- run between $9-12 a glass. The service is attentive, friendly, and fast, and the casual decor and atmosphere (it was 4 degrees Fahrenheit) made for a lovely laid back dining experience where you could take your time eating all the well-prepared food. The dining room was as lively as the bar scene, the latter had at least one tv and many sports fans. For salad or King Crab, I'd make this a local favorite.

Yelp
Besides being a little out of Fairbanks with a dimly lit interior, the Turtle Club offers a simple menu focused on their prime rib. We had the turtle cut and halibut chunks. Both entrees were great. The prime rib is tender and juicy. The halibut chunks are lightly battered and are great with the homemade tartar sauce. The salad bar is well appointed with traditional salad making fare plus homemade potato and pasta salads. The service is solid. You aren't reliant on a single server with various servers bringing hot bread, drink refills, and checking to make sure everything is good.

Yelp
This place got a lot of hype so we were very excited to go here. Its a cute cabin home style restaurant but also kind of fancy for Fairbanks. Overall the food was good, the service was totally fine, and we were able to walk in and get a table without issue. I think I was just kind of expecting more? The salad bar was a little underwhelming and they only gave us one square of bread for 4 people, we spent nearly $100 a person, it was weird for them to then skimp on bread for the table. I didn't mind anything I ordered, I think the lobster was a tad over cooked, but honestly the prime rib was better the next morning flash fried in butter with breakfast. If you're in town visiting, I would maybe recommend elsewhere but this place isn't bad by any means.

Christina C.

Yelp
Prime rib and king crab combo dinner was fantastic. Had it with cheesy potatoes and they were yummy. Also enjoyed the crab cheese dip app. I also had the crab cakes and they were good but definitely spicy. The restaurant has over 1000 turtles, and the kids loved to look at them all. The salad bar was disappointing. Only had iceberg lettuce, no mixed greens and toppings left something to be desired. Service was great.

Yelp
I hate writing reviews for any place that I do not consider to be exceptional. In this case, I'll do it though just to help people who aren't familiar with the place to know what to expect. The inside is dated and dark. We sat on the back patio. The view from there is of junk. It's really an eye sore. One piece of junk is used as a stage for live music. It's an old train car or storage container. There are other items out there that just look like junk. Not pleasant when spending upwards of $100/person for a "fine dining" restaurant. This is not fine dining. The baked potatoes come out wrapped in aluminum foil - not fine dining. The food is just placed on a plate with no regard for plating techniques, not fine dining. View in back is of items that are eyesores. Again, not fine dining. Back deck chairs are plastic chairs, not fine dining. Salad bar is no more than just a salad bar. On our way out, we noticed that the place has a very nice front patio with a nice view of the hills, sooo much nicer than the back deck! The front deck is for the bar. So we thought, "wow, maybe the trick is just to eat at the bar in the future and sit on the nicer deck." We decided to have an after dinner drink to enjoy the much better view than we had with our very expensive dinner. We asked if dogs were allowed on the front deck and were told by the bar tender that they were. We brought our dog in from the car to the deck and had a lovely time on the front deck. We went back a couple of weeks later, intending to just sit on the front deck with our dog and have cocktails and a snack. This time, the person serving us, not sure if she was an owner, a manager, a bar tender or a server, told us they don't allow dogs on the front deck. She told us they were making an exception for us at the moment because nobody else was on the deck. We asked if they had changed their policy, explaining we were there just a couple of weeks prior and the deck was full of people and we were told by the restaurant's staff that the dog was allowed. She just got irritated with us and was extremely rude to the point of actually being mean. She said no dogs have ever been allowed and never will be. Ok, just tell us that in the first place and be consistent. We were never pushing the dog on them, simply asked if they were allowed, we were told yes then when bringing him back, we were told they were never allowed. The tone from the woman was as though first, we were lying and secondly, absolute irritation. Really uncalled for. Given the cost of this place, I just cannot recommend it considering the food is mediocre, the view from the back restaurant patio is just plain ugly, and this one staff member, and I emphasize that it was only one, the rest of the staff were fantastic, but one not only rude, but actually mean staff member can so affect the customer's experience in a negative way that they will lose a customer for life that otherwise could have been a loyal customer for life. I realize the dog issue isn't one that many diners will deal with so take that part of our experience with a grain of salt and only consider it if it affects you, just don't bring your dog. Sit on the front bar deck in the summer months and order food from the bar. It's the same menu, just much nicer view. Don't expect a truly fine dining experience, but do expect fine dining prices. The meanness of this one staff member should be a warning to all. And the eyesore view out back really was unpleasant.

Myka C.

Yelp
Sweet potato cheese cake is to die for! Amazing salad bar and service. I like to sit in the bar area for a more casual setting.

Jim L.

Yelp
When we showed up a few minutes before our reservation. We were told we had a table in the back, which would be available when the current table is almost leaving. We asked where we could wait to not be in the way and we were told the bar area has a waiting area, which we went. We were told to return in five minutes. When I returned to ask if our table was ready, the hostess I think forgot about us and gave our table away already. However, they did have another table ready. Not the best way to start off but we were ok with it. Why? Because our server Emily was a rock star. She had a large party and three tables. And in no way we felt like we were playing second fiddle to her larger table. The drinks were ok. Typical bar fare. The food or I should say the prime rib was the main attraction and main event. The cuts were decently sized but was more cooked for a medium. But their medium temp for a prime rib may be different. It was medium well but the prime rib was seasoned just right. The baked potato was had the perfect temperature. Getting back to the prime rib I ate the entire thing. It was very tasty. The desserts were pretty good as well. The raspberry donut cheesecake was the best out of the chocolate Mousse and the creme Brulee could not keep up for the rich and tasty notes here. Not to say the creme brulee was bad. Just not the winner for us. This place was recommended by both the ice fishing guide we had and also the host from Escape Room AK.

Yelp
All of it was great everything and everyone. I would love to go back to this restaurant and get another steak and prawns! Great food, service, and the place was old and very cool.

Jan B.

Yelp
Our most favorite restaurant when we visit Alaska. Great prime rib, salad bar, and desserts. Yummy!!

Richard O.

Yelp
My third time here second time with the wife. Love the atmosphere. The prim rib will keep me always coming back. My wife said we need to steal the chef and take him back to Springfield Mo. food is 5 stars. Our server was on her third day and she is 5 stars.

Cen S.

Yelp
1. The location is out of nowhere. I wouldn't mind driving all the way here if the food was good. 1. The place is overpriced! Me and my husband dine in and ordered one entree each ended up paying $265 plus tax came up to $300. ( again we would mind if the food was good. 3. (A) The prime rib doesn't taste like beef, my husband ordered it and had me tried one bite ended up spitting it out. It tasted like it was frozen for a year. (B) lobster was so chewy, again he only ate 2 bites. (C) the king crab leg is what we came for coz its my favorite but I can't believe I didn't even finished it. I wouldn't mind paying $150 for 3 pcs king crab legs if it was good but it wasn't fresh, very dry and chewy . I seldom give ratings to restaurants, but this time i would have to so other tourists can avoid this place.

Seth L.

Yelp
You can call this place prime rib heaven. The menu features different sizes whether you're not that hungry or starving. They have a variety of appetizers which all sounded really good. We started with the escargot - which was seasoned very well in a garlic sauce and came with a lemon to get some more flavor on there. For the prime rib I had the turtle cut which I didn't think was going to be that big but was A LOT, so much that I couldn't finish it. I ordered medium well and it was cooked to perfection. A lot of people might not like it, but the fat was so tender and flavorful, I just kept eating even though I was full. Heads up - they do have crab at market price which I believe was at $125 for 1 1/2 pounds. There is a lot of meat though. Overall the service was great and the staff was really attentive and nice

Tony R.

Yelp
The prime rib is the staple menu item, with seafood and an amazing variety of appetizers. This dinner house and lounge have wonderful dining options and staff. In the lounge, you can order from the dinner house menu or the bar sandwiches, which are a lighter option. Dinner house has 3 different cuts of prime rib accompanied by baked potato and a large salad bar. Whether you want a classic date night or just a quick bite after an atv trip, this venue has got you covered.

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
Prime rib was good, the other fish options our party got were just okay. A local "fancy" restaurant but it does deliver pretty well. Good price-perform for large quantities of food, Trad-American style! There was a locals' corner where regulars congregated too; this def had a lot of local flavor, compared to some of the other restaurants in this tier that catered primarily to moneyed tourists.

Kelvin I.

Yelp
Awesome experience, service, and the prime rib is superb. A definite location to go to when in the Fairbanks area. Worth every penny!

Chris C.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time here. They were such a local place. You could tell that many many people return here over and over by how well the staff knew everyone's name. They were celebrating the opening of their outdoor deck and were giving away free burgers and brats, not only that, but the waiters would tell people, which would most certainly cut into their tips. I had king crab, portobello fries (amazing) and prime beef. I liked it and it all came out good temperature and exactly how I ordered. If I'm ever in Fairbanks again I will def try again.

Mike B.

Yelp
Legendary Fairbanks restaurant with lots of food and a nice salad bar. They offer options to split the order between two people and add a salad bar. I noticed several tables around us doing this and once the food arrived - we understood why! Huge portions!

Chantal H.

Yelp
Great food, great service, amazing salad bar and phenomenal dessert. Had the raspberry doughnut cheesecake and it was delicious, left us wanting more. Prime rib was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Options at the salad bar were fresh and plentiful. Will definitely be going back. Ambiance is very cozy and welcoming.

Mike P.

Yelp
The salad bar and turtle art are worth checking out. The prime rib was fair but undercooked and not even fully warm- (I ordered and prefer medium rare) Definitely worth the experience

Gen T.

Yelp
Some of the most friendly staff and great service. They had a packed house but my drink was never below half full. The king crabs are one of the best deals in town. We had gone to multiple places and this is the best value, the cook was perfect also, didn't even need to use the claw crackers. The prime rib was large and definitely shareable. The Au Jus sauce was super flavorful. I wish we were locals because I wasn't able to finish the prime rib and couldn't take it home.

Andy H.

Yelp
While staying at the Alaska Grizzly Lodge on a northern lights shooting endeavor, this restaurant was on to do list for a good prime rib dinner, but as the road conditions deteriorated throughout the week of snow, I was afraid I might be willing to hazard the highway to get up to the restaurant. Thankfully a great trio of fellow lodge stayers invited me to join them on their reservation for dinner at Turtle Club. Ended up having a great evening with good company, the perfectly cooked prime rib, loaded baked potato, and salad bar was a welcome change of culinary pace of dinners that mostly consisted of soup cans bought at the gas station closer to the lodge. Lot of pictures in the Turtle Club yelp of rather well done prime rib dinners. To each their own, but don't be afraid of going rare to medium rare. Came out just right.

Diane S.

Yelp
First time in Alaska and first time at Turtle Club. I recommend calling for a reservation. We did make one for 6pm and we came early and we were seated right away but 30 min later they had lines waiting for all the reservations and couldn't take any more walking in. We shared the halibut for appetizers. It was delicious! We ordered the salad and shared a special prime beef with prawns. They were good and plenty for 2. Salad was delicious. They had great looking deserts but we were full so passed.

Paul C.

Yelp
I always love Turtle Club when I come to Alaska. It is a very rustic place out of the city that has amazing food and service. I always enjoy the Prime Rib. The salad bar is fresh and well stocked. Great food and service!

Pat T.

Yelp
A great salad bar, nice ambiance, a hard working staff! Fun to sit at the bar and do pulltabs! A nice outdoor patio and really enjoyed my King Crab leg dinner . Delicious and very large cuts of prime rib were my favorite.

Richard B.

Yelp
On vacation from seattle and this was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The food was amazing and the drinks were affordable and great my friends live here and they took me. Definitely one of their favorites too. 11/10. Wish they had more locations. I'd love one of these in Washington. Thanks :)

J S.

Yelp
I don't know why everyone recommends this place. It's not "fine dining" as people say it is, and as they advertise lol, and the food is less than mediocre. For the price they charge, my steak should have been a perfect medium, instead it was an hombre of medium to well done from one end to the other.. honestly, it's impressive how they managed to do that to a steak that was mostly the same size throughout. The salad bar is minuscule, and very few options for toppings for $14 unless you want 4 different types of shredded cheese on your salad, and no Caesar dressing. My baked potato was good, not sure how you can mess that up though.. they get the 1 star for that and bc I can't do 0 stars.

Marguerita G.

Yelp
We went to the turtle club last night for a very special anniversary dinner with two other couples. We are all very longtime friends. It was just an exceptional experience. The owner came over. He was so very gracious and kind. As usual the food did not disappoint and neither did the beverages. Highly recommend this restaurant. It is just a great experience.

MaLinda H.

Yelp
Over cooked food Bad service Terrible music Or work time or money I call a oner! Never again!!

P S.

Yelp
Prime Rib and Escargot was sime of the best Ive ever had and the King Crab was yummy. A restaurant 10 miles out of Fairbanks that I would fly back up here from Seattle just for this dinner!

John S.

Yelp
The salad bar at the turtle club was absolutely awesome. For the price I don't think you can get a better meal in the Fairbanks area. Also had Portabella mushroom That was absolutely wonderful tasting. Wanted to get the prime rib but didn't feel like eating that much because the salad bar really filled me up. If you want to drive a little bit north of Fairbanks this is definitely the best restaurant in the area.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Bring your wallet, but the food is as tasty as it is expensive. Overall it's a great dining experience.

Darren Y.

Yelp
Coming from the SF Bay Area, we have excellent quality of foods here. This place might be considered good for Fairbanks, but in the overall quality.. not really. Yes, it has huge portions for the money. But it was tough to chew and eat. The biggest plus was our waitress, Samantha!! She was great and attentive. I would go back, but not order the prime rib.

Yolanda C.

Yelp
Best food in town Great Service Homey and clean, the bar and food makes it all worth it. When I go back to Fairbanks I will be sure to go again. Make reservations or you will have to wait or eat at the bar.

Bernadette W.

Yelp
It was my husband 70th birthday dinner ... I made reservations! We get there and they had no record of our reservations? The service was good ! But the escargot had sand and was minuscule... I sent it back after chewing on sand :( The Rice pilaf was old tasting and cold The salad bar was brown lettuce !! UHG No birthday wishes or a damn thing from anyone Sorry won't be back for a long while

Jeff S.

Yelp
After reading the reviews, I was excited to come to the Turtle Club for dinner. We arrived at 8 on Sunday and were surprised to see a full parking lot and even more surprised to have to wait for a table. No worries, though. The place is pretty unassuming, inside and out. Once we were seated, we quickly decided on our orders and waited for service. After our server gave one of my friends a hard time for ordering an out of state beer ("we have 16 local beers on tap any you're ordering that?") his next two choices were out. We did settle on drinks. As for food, apparently "you can't get Alaskan crab legs anywhere" including here. Maybe covid impacted the fishing. I wound up ordering the fried halibut. The rest of our group had halibut and prime rib. Turtle Club's salad bar is decent. Don't see these too often any more. The halibut was good, but not great. I was glad to see that the breading wasn't too thick. Most of the pieces were cooked properly though one was chewy and inedible. Those that had the prime rib reported tasty meals, properly cooked. I was just underwhelmed. The food was good. The menu limited (salmon would be a great addition.) If you're a prime rib lover, I'm sure you'd be happier than I was.

Susan M.

Yelp
Although the Turtle Club is a little off the beaten path, about 10 miles outside of Fairbanks, it's well worth the trip. (And with a slight detour, you can see the Alaska pipeline, a photo op also worth a stop. It was way bigger and more impressive than I expected!) I highly recommend you make advance reservations for the restaurant, even if you're only a twosome, because our party of 8 went at 5:30 PM on a Sunday in late March, and it got very busy, very quickly. The decor is rustic, with interesting artifacts, many turtle-related, all around. It's a casual atmosphere, with the entire menu (except the desserts...more on that later...) conveniently printed on the paper placemats, but it also feels warm and intimate because of the low lighting and little white lights tucked in greenery bordering all the walls. All entrées include a baked potato or rice and the salad bar, which is chock full of fresh everything...way-better-than-iceberg-lettuce greens, sprouts, mushrooms, beets, peas, cucumbers, cheese, chopped eggs, sunflower seeds, croutons, potato and pasta salads, fruit...and just about anything else your heart could desire on a salad bar! There were 6 different dressings, including the usual ranch, Caesar, and creamy Italian, and a couple of surprises, like celery seed. This will sound like an oxymoron, but there was a delicious fruit cocktail unlike any I've ever tasted, that included large chunks of fabulous rosy-red passionfruit and pineapple. But be sure to save room for the entree, especially the prime rib, because it's Alaska-sized! I ordered the smallest prime rib, the Foxy Cut, 10-12 oz. of 1" thick tender juiciness! That was big enough, but the other cuts were HUGE...almost 2" thick! Even if you think you don't like horseradish, it is wonderful with prime rib, so try it, sparingly, because it packs a punch! All the fixins for your baked potato (which comes with a little cup of swirled sour cream on the side...NOTE: that's NOT butter!) are at the table, including real butter, real bacon, and green onions. If you've gotten this far and aren't full-to-bursting, it's a miracle! Next comes the dessert tray, laden with deliciousness, so don't avert your eyes! Even if you can't eat another bite, take home a dessert, because the two we tried, the Milky Way and the Chocolate Mousse with a chocolate cake base, were outstanding! For non-chocoholics, try the Dreamsicle (orange/vanilla) or another of their variations on cheesecake. The Turtle Club should be on the menu for any visit to Fairbanks! NOTE: For larger parties, be aware that the tip will already be included on your bill, next to the (possibly hand-written) letters "GC," which stands for "gratuity charge." You might want to ask to be sure that that money will go to the wait staff, as there may be some legal issues regarding "involuntary" service charges and who gets them...the management or the staff.

Pete H.

Yelp
Had reservations for a party of nine they were able to fit us at a large table .Decent one trip salad bar choices.Drink where choices were OK. Good appetizer choices. Many of us had the prime rib and a few had the crab legs. Most of us asked for the prime rib medium, but they finished it off under a broiler and it seemed a little off on the taste. They did not look like a lot of the pictures in the reviews. Deserts were good,it was overall a good night in the wilds of Alaska.

Michael M.

Yelp
One of primary reasons to visit Fairbanks and was not disappointed! Food was delicious and location was def interesting.

Yelp
12/28/18 'Tis the season to be merry, and 'tis a charming restaurant, picturesque, hidden away in the woods. If there would be a restaurant to be called a "secret" it would be this one--a magical place Santa Claus might be using as a vacation home. Although Christmas has passed by a couple days, the restaurant was still completely decorated complete with red and green lit passageways, and sparkling trees all around. It really was a beautiful place to have dinner this holiday season. ...But not a good tasting place... 1. Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini $11 "pinnacle cherry vodka, pinnacle chocolate whipped vodka, chambord raspberry liquor, and cream served with a cherry": Not impressive tasting. There wasn't nearly any chocolate taste. A cheap cherry taste is there but no real good cherry flavor. The alcohol was mild for a martini but the whole thing doesn't taste as good as it looks. 4/10 2. Loaf of bread (complimentary): Served warm but not all that moist. Nice cute loaf but nothing more than that. 5/10 3. Miners Cut Prime Rib Dinner $44.95 "20-24 oz. a hefty portion for a robust appetite. We Do Not Guarantee Any Meat Cooked More Than Medium": Okay, FIRST, they deserve some credit---note that in the description the warning of overcooked meat was capitalized. THANK YOU. We don't need to kill any animals twice!--once is enough right? ...alright that's the good part. The bad: they cut out the best part the brown meat around the side. I HATE it when they do that. We all know the outer 1" or so is the best part!--well, that and the meat near the bone too. Also, at first I thought the meat was overcooked to well done but I looked at pics and it does appear to be medium rare. It just was not a good piece of beef. It was tough and dry, despite being cooked about medium at worst. It was at least 2" thick though! While it's definitely more meat than what they say it's not great tasting. Just faaaaaaaar too lean. Seriously, Black Angus (the restaurant) prime rib is far better. 3/10. 4. Alaska King Crab Legs Seafood Dinner $69 "enjoy 1 1/2 lbs of Alaska's best": This was almost laughable. Note the price, and keep that in mind... here we have more knuckle than good meat. Most of the meat disintegrated as I tried to pick it out of the shells. I only had a few pieces worthy of being dipped in butter as most just fell apart. The meat's quite overcooked, and not as complex and succulent as other places. I did love the candle heated drawn butter though. 2/10 5. Alaskan Cranberry Tart $5: Yes, this is beer. Tasted standard with a hint of fruit. 5/10 So, however charming this place may be, I'm sorry, it just doesn't taste good. That's not to say I regret coming. It really warmed my heart to see a restaurant try so hard to please, and filled me with laughter to taste the food. 2/5 #alaska #fairbanks #americanfood #americancuisine #christmas #primerib #seafood #alaskankingcrab

Yelp
Food was ok just not the service. CAUTION: supervisor herself said they spilled on people's clothes a lot. which I thought is quite ridiculous.

Yelp
Well, what can I say. You either love this place or hate it. We went as a work group, three miners cut's and me having the shrimp. First, the service is incredible. Second, I love the mix of tourists and locals. Third, I personally love the small salad bar. It has enough to make a solid salad without over complicating things. My shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly, not over-breaded, not greasy, but just right. The potato was good, typical potato. It came with bacon, sour cream, and butter. Our table was well supplied with bread, drinks, and water. We also tried the deserts, I never do this by the way. As a whole, our table had no complaints, the rib was cooked perfectly, my only complaint was the temperature. Maybe it was because I had been outside for 12 hours, but I thought it was a little cool.

Yelp
Who would of thought they'd be a club that specializes in steak in the middle of nowhere outside Fairbanks, AK? Not this guy but we found this spot by a recommendation of a friend so here we are. This fairly oddly shaped maize of a building has quite a lot of seating throughout, most tables being 4 tops with the opportunity to pull together for larger parties. The menu is super small with prime rib being their main entree. We settled on that and enjoyed the fresh bread as well as the salad bar while we waited for the meal to arrive. I will say that the salad bar was not bad, especially for Alaska. Plenty of choices for toppings and all seems fresh. The bread was firm, crusted outside with a soft and warm inside. Now for the prime rib... maybe it's not my thing but I lacked much flavor and was pretty tough. I also didn't care for the fat content in the meat. It wasn't a complete waste of a meal but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here again.

Yelp
A nice traditional American Prime Rib restaurant of old. Come and enjoy the atmosphere, the history and the Prime Rib. Just be careful not to order too big - Would recommend the miners cut. And miners did mine here for Gold some hundred years ago.

Yelp
So, this was an absolutely awesome experience! First of all you have to sit on the bar side. The bar tender, who we later learned was part owner, was an absolute delight to talk with and a great all around person! Our VRBO suggested we eat here and when we pulled up to this out of the way bar/restaurant we knew we were trending where only locals go! Immediately we were greeted by the owner and from there on out we felt like family! We've all seen the television show "Cheers"...well this is the rough and tumble "Cheers" of Alaska! My wife and I loved every minute of this great eclectic eatery! If you go, based upon this review, make sure you tell the owner/bartender that the people from Indiana recommended the place!

Yelp
Oh.My.God. Turtle Club... where do I begin? It was my first time visiting Fairbanks and was looking for a place to eat Alaskan King Crab. I turned to Yelp for suggestion and found Turtle Club. Looking at the pics on Yelp, we knew the portions are huge. Apparently, everything is big in Alaska :D Since my mom and I both wanted to get King Crab, we decided to share an appetizer and 1 order of King Crab. All the entrees come with salad bar and a side of potato or rice. We paid $5 extra to split an entree, so they bring it out on 2 plates and we each get potato/rice. We also got an extra salad bar, which I believe was around $12. - Popcorn Shrimp : Crispy, crunchy and delicious! - Salad bar : Good selection, great quality, can't go wrong. - Alaskan King Crab : Wow, I was blown away by how good these crab legs were. Growing up in Japan, I have had lots of good crabs, but these were definitely one of the BEST! By the way, each entree has 4 king crab legs. I challenge you to eat more than 2 of these guys. $70 for this is a great deal! We had plenty of food, despite sharing an entree. And we are definitely not small eaters! I don't know how people eat a prime rib and crab legs or prime rib and lobster tail . . . High points: - Alaskan King Crab! - Fresh salad - Reasonably priced bottles of wine (pretty good selection too!) - Great service from our friendly server Low points: - The hostess was totally overwhelmed and not friendly - The decor is kind of strange. I don't really get the whole turtle theme. I can't wait to return on my next visit to Fairbanks!
