One of the most gorgeous locations I've ever stayed at. Literally just off the main road, yet seemingly isolated from everything and directly on the beach. The sunrise is simply incredible from here. I was worried about them not having a restaurant on site, but it was easy to get to just stop at a grocery store on the way and the drive was gorgeous too. The managers are both lovely and did their best to make everyone feel at home, it was easy to strike up conversations with the other guests while I was there. The peacock was super friendly too! The one item for improvement would be that the beds could use an upgrade, they were on the firmer side and not the most comfortable for me. Overall a great stay in an incredible location.

Things now have changed for this resort. Before it is a very nice one back in the day when it was a gay resort properly, with a good time for relax and a high quality of stay to match with the price. But now they are cut all the cost, close down restaurant and bar, resort is half in liquidation really when it is like that, only the rooms division survives. You are pay a lot for your room and then you will cook yourself and shop for your own drinks. It feels like they cut costs here and dress up as a new exciting “your way and your stay” rhetoric. Of course everyone can see through that for what is really happen.

Stayed here last week for five nights and was just brilliant! I love their new way of doing things, made the trip more economical! The vibe of the place is still there with the changes. Great facilities for cooking your meals. The vending machine system is awesome.. meals, snacks, and alcohol all there. Its great if you are arriving late and don't want to hit the shops straight away for supplies! As always, the staff were wonderful and were always available. Wish I had stayed longer!!

Great concept but a little tired and run down now. Staff are very friendly but quite inefficient. Half-hearted attempts to service the room resulted in no made bed and way too many towels. No coffee (had to request some), no replacement shower gel (tiny tube only lasted two days), iced up freezer. The room was high end beach front yet it was very run down and quite dirty (see photos). I had to ask for a replacement pillow as it was extremely stained. The old mattress left me with neck and back pain the entire week. Springs poking through, disguised with a mattress topper. Moth eaten drapes, rusted overhang causing a curtain of water when it rained. Breakfast was reasonable when there were supplies - had to ask for milk (only got lactose-free), salt, sugar.||Got an odd answer when we asked if we can use one of the barbecues of, "Yes and no" with a convoluted explanation about changes happening the following month that made no sense. Not worth the discussion so, we just ate out.||A little more care is needed in maintaining this place and training to staff on how to service rooms. Beware the peacock who may try to steal your food.

Felt white lotus - ish, in the best possible way. Loved the whole resort, going to sleep to the sound of crashing waves and with the moon reflecting on the coral sea. I stayed in cheapest room and even this was fabulous. Food brilliant and bar staff amazing and friendly. A perfect place to stay (except no wifi/phone service).

Absolutely wonderful stay. Came for the first time with my partner and it's lovely having somewhere that I could relax and be myself while enjoying beautiful tropical North Queensland. The location is stunning, with a private beach and lovely views of the coastline, Gorgeous pool and services, and a lovely bar and kitchen. My spouse organised a beautiful anniversary dinner with the staff for one night on the beachfront and they pulled out all the stops for it, with a lovely menu and gorgeously set up table As a vegan, I was thankful and impressed with the care which they showed with providing not only the half dozen or so vegan options on the menu, but also providing some off-menu items which the chef prepared while we stayed there. Very accessible location to nearby Port Douglass and Cairns for touristy stuff, but the resort is plenty relaxing and lovely on its own too Thank you for all of your help and service when we stayed, and I'll be keen to come back another time

Turtle Cove Beach Resort has outdone themselves with the ‘Your Stay, Your Way’ setup! It’s a ripper—super affordable, super social, and heaps of fun. Been here heaps, but this stay was next-level awesome. If you haven’t checked it out yet, get on it! Nath and Jules make it extra and way more social. Wish I took more pics, the beach is insanity and you can be nude!

I absolutely loved my experience here. My only regret is not staying longer. The staff went above and beyond to make my time here as enjoyable as possible. Food and drinks are fantastic, rooms are comfortable and you can't beat the location. It is truly magnificent to be in this setting. Paradise!

Yelp
Excellent resort. We stayed here for about a week while traveling. The location is great...near to Daintree Rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef, and also the city of Cairns. The resort caters to the LGBTQIA+ and allies community, and is an adults only resort. They have a fantastic lunch/dinner menu, which is available to anyone who makes a reservation on their website. They offer a turtle table if you want to socialize with others at dinner. We made so many acquaintances/ friends. It was our first time traveling to Australia, and everyone (the staff and the guests) were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. It was winter when we stayed, and the weather was excellent. The resort has a private beach, which was really wonderful, as well as a pool and hot tub. There are masseuses available (book online). They have parties, which are optional to attend, and the noise does not disturb the guests who have gone back to their rooms. The view from the balcony of our room was so enjoyable, and we could relax there while viewing and listening to the ocean and birds. There is a driving service available (Rainbow Connect) if you need a ride anywhere. 10/10 would definitely come back to stay!

Yelp
Guys this place is awesome! We came in the wet season so it was chill, which is exactly what I wanted. The staff was super friendly and made it even better. They also have an amazing chef that created some delicious and beautiful meals. It's not too far from all the tourist spots, but tucked away from it all too so it was great to go do tourist things then come back and chill at the pool. I'm hoping to make it a traditional visit. Highly recommended

Yelp
This was my second time there and it's now under new ownership and management. The minute we walked in we felt right at home because it felt like a little village. The staff was so friendly and work so hard to keep everybody happy and they tend to everybody's needs and anticipate our wants. The location in setting was beyond romantic and peaceful. The food was incredible. We got one of the beachfront rooms and walking up to the sunrise daily was a huge win. We are so happy that we went there and they were so helpful with all of our excursions to the Barrier Reef, Daintree Rain Forest Safari, Cape Tribulation, etc. It was a fantastic location post Mardi Gras in Sydney. Can't wait to go back and we already miss our mates. Julian and J the bartender felt like family.

Yelp
Arguably Australia's best gay and lesbian resort; run by really nice people and in a killer location.. Its secluded and tucked away south of Port Douglas. Stopped in for one night, mid-week and had a relaxing time.. Enjoyed some really nice cocktails in the bar and a basic continental breakfast buffet is included in the deal. Would have loved to stay longer.

Yelp
I was very dismayed when I read the bad reviews and even considered changing my reservation. My husband and I had stayed there 10 years ago and had had a great time. This time I was by myself so I was a little leary. well, damn those bad reviews, three to be exact that came from 3 disgruntled queens from Sydney. I had a wonderful ocean front room, great air conditioning and 24 hour gay films , current films, and porno. It was a genuine delight having access 24 hours a day. The breakfast was a little meager but the staff was very helpful and getting me things that I needed for breakfast. Lunch and dinners were delicious and perfectly cooked. I didn't need a 5 star chef, After all I was in the middle of nowhere on the highway to Port Douglas. I room was expensive as was the food and drinks but what the hell, It was a vacation and I deserved it. So forget those damn bad reviews. The staff was wonderful and friendly and kind and helpful. their main houseboy, Sepe was a delight and being someone with OCD there just was no way the room would be anything but perfectly clean. brave Turtle Cove, thanks for making my stay ideal and really relaxing

Yelp
Turtle Cove is a nice little gay and lesbian resort about 20 min out of Port Douglas, so a hire car is handy for travelling around the area. The actual resort is around the 3 star mark, beachfront rooms and nice inside, done up, but a similar layout to 70's motels. Best feature is the oceanfront direct access, pure ambience, palm trees and beach and sun which can't be beat! So has that real true beach location...bliss! Pool/spa areas and common areas are not untidy but never were very neat either during my stay, menu for lunch very extensive, dinner menu very limited. This property is very casual in its ambience and presentation, room was not totally clean, lock on sliding door broken and gouged, its not 5 star so adjust you expectations accordingly and you wont be disappointed. Swimming in ocean is restricted during certain times of year due to stingers. Staff overall were fine, they just need to watch when guests are waiting to be served at bar, don't ingnore and work around your guests, just make eye contact and say, "won't be a moment".
