The experience at this inn was extremely enjoyable. We really loved the room that we stayed in, and could see and hear sea lions out in the ocean. At the Turtle Rock Inn the innkeepers were very kind and friendly. Overall, this is a great place to be immersed in nature; when we saw the view from our room, we were awestruck.||The room has its own private deck, for star gazing and ocean-viewing. We watched the smart TV in the evening as a family wind down after local hikes. ||In the morning, the freshly cooked breakfast was filling and delicious.

Our stay at Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn was wonderful. The views of the ocean are incredible. From the bed, we could see waves crashing on rocks near the shore. The sound of the waves was magical. We could hear sea lions singing in the morning if the door was open. We loved the room. There are all the amenities we needed, and I was especially impressed with the bed - very high quality mattress that was clearly new and had solid support under the pillow top, with wonderfully soft high-end sheets. The sound insulation was also excellent - I was not surprised to learn that there are double-walls explaining this. The innkeeper, Roger, was so friendly and helpful. He made a lovely breakfast every morning and told us about all the local attractions that fit our interests - hiking and dining in our case - giving us tips on how to get the most out of the places we visited. There is a paper itinerary in every room as well, which tells about all the local attractions and tailors them to how much time a visitor has in the area. There are other details we loved as well. The garden was beautiful. There are nice treats and coffee and tea in the common area every afternoon. The community refrigerator has plenty of room and is stocked with nonalcoholic beverages. There are powerful binoculars in the common room for looking out at the ocean. There are nice magazines, books, and local maps there as well. The assistant who gave us the initial tour was very nice and helpful. Security is good - they ask us to lock the front door to the inn whenever coming or going. The housekeeper also does good work, and I was happy to find out from conversation with Roger that she is paid a good living wage. While I went here for a romantic getaway, and it was perfect for that, as a mother I also noticed how it would be good for families with children - I noticed details like there being hot chocolate with marshmallows available at tea time, or again the double walls between rooms that allow kids to be their playful selves. We can’t wait to return to Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn again. <3

I think the hundreds of photos speak for the beauty and charm. This is a classic B&B run by Roger and Francine. They are up at 6am every day making breakfast for their guests. They built this cliff-side experience and its comfortable, private rooms with ocean views. The sea lions were barking from down below when we visited in mid-September. Beautiful weather. Only one foggy day, and that was fun, too. We made day trips to the Avenue of the Giants and into southern Oregon. ||If you need room service, or daily maid service to change bed linens, a B&B may not be for you. Every day, a newly-lined waste basket and fresh towels (and a small laundry bag for used towels) are set on a tray outside your door. If you need something more, just ask. ||We had wonderful conversations with a couple from upstate New York and a young couple from Germany traveling the West coast. It’s all part of the B&B experience.

Our time at Turtle Rocks will be a memory we cherish for the rest of our lives. The reasons are numerous, but it begins and ends with the innkeeper, Roger. Seldom in my life have I encountered a more gracious & affable man. Our visit to Turtle Rocks was one of many stops along the way on our dream vacation, but my morning conversations with Roger are what I’ll cherish most. It feels like a disservice to wait this long before mentioning the location, but I challenge anyone to find a better spot on the entire Pacific coast. The views from every room are stunning. It’s also set back just enough in a cove to afford excellent wind protection. The gardens are beautiful & serve as evidence of Roger & his families lifetime of passion & hard work. As a bonus it’s located on a quiet road and minuets from the 101. It’s also situated less than 30 minutes away from numerous Redwoods parks, 1 mile from a stunning State Park (Sue-meg) & just 5 minutes from an upscale restaurant (Larrupin’ Cafe). Turtle Rocks is the perfect place for adventurers seeking a quality breakfast before hitting the trails all day, as well those looking to daydream the day away on their private balcony taking in the priceless view & sounds of the sea. It was among my life’s great fortunes to have shared time with Roger at his special place in this world. Thank you, Roger. And God willing, we’ll see you again further on down the road. I stayed here with my husband and our 2-month-old baby. While we checked out of our room at 11am, it was storming outside, so we took a seat in the lounge to wait out the weather for a short period of time and feed the baby. Within minutes, the innkeeper, Roger, came over to tell us, rather coldly, that “the reservation ended at 11.” Despite being fully out of the room and sitting quietly in a shared space (where there was no one else, as the inn wasn’t even full), we were asked to leave. His tone was passive-aggressive -- particularly unkind given the circumstances. In all our travels, we’ve never experienced such a lack of hospitality — especially from a place that charges over $300 a night. Most properties are more than accommodating when guests are briefly using common areas after checkout, especially with a baby and during bad weather. After our stay, we noticed some other online reviews describing similarly negative interactions with Roger, scattered among the glowing 5-star ones. Sadly, that interaction left a lasting negative impression. As a result, we won’t be returning and can’t recommend this BnB to others who value genuine hospitality. It’s a real shame, considering the views and location.

We enjoyed our stay at Turtle Rocks immensely. Our room had an amazing view from which we enjoyed stunning night skies as well as the sound of crashing waves and barking sea lions. Roger and Francine were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed the delicious hot breakfast every morning. This was a perfect place to stay to visit the Redwoods.

Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn was exactly what we needed. Stunning ocean views (with sea lions singing!), a beautiful property, and an amazing room view made it unforgettable. Roger’s warm hospitality and delicious breakfasts set the tone for our hiking days, and the baked goods and great local recommendations were thoughtful touches. The Wi-Fi isn’t strong—but that just helped us unplug and truly enjoy the scenery. Coming from PA, this was the perfect change of pace. Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn is a gem. We left refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming about our next trip back.

This was the perfect setting to enjoy the Harvest Moon and location can’t be beat! We spent 4 nights, slept wonderfully, were well fed at breakfast and the views are glorious! Roger, Francine and Sam gave us great advice on things to see and places to dine. We would definitely come back! It’s a very cozy and homey setting and nature abounds!

Beautiful scenery, wonderful layout, and fabulous host. Breakfast was delicious. Farm fresh food, and snacks procured intentionally. Great location to see the sights in Redwood National Park. Great ocean views!

My wife and I just stayed here for 3 nights. We were on our first trip to see the Redwoods. We loved this place. It is comfortable and beautiful. The view of the ocean is as portrayed, great. Rodger runs this small Inn and is very knowledgeable about the local area (actually about all of CA.). He sent us to several great places to see the Redwoods and got us into a wonderful restaurant on short notice near his Inn. We are active seniors (72 and 67), and Rodger served as our guide without error for our stay. He is a wonderful person and this is a place you want to stay! We expect to return. Thanks for everything Rodger.

I've been trying to talk to someone at Turtle Rock for months but they don't return my calls or email. They seemingly don't want our reservation.

This place was amazing. The checkin was quick and informative. They had homemade cookies waiting for us and a well appointed selection of teas and sodas. The host was so helpful and explained everything in detail. We even got great dinner recommendations. The room was spacious with a massive tub, but was the view that was most spectacular. The room had a perfect view of the ocean. From the deck, you can see and hear the sea lions playing on the rocks. The breakfast was superb. We went back for seconds. I would highly recommend this little gem!

Roger and Francine are the best! And wow such an incredible gem of a beach town in Trinidad, CA. Not to mention during Covid-19, they couldn't have been a safer place to stay for a few days. We were the only guests and they wore masks everytime we saw them (as did we). My wife and I absolutely loved talking to Roger and Francine who own and run the place. They took care of us as if we were family staying in their family home and the food... wow... the food is truly something! Every morning we woke up to the smell of something amazing cooked up by Francine! She made all the dishes herself and fresh daily! Gourmet Egg Quiches and so many other good dishes! She always baked something fresh and you could grab it anytime. Loved the pumpkin bread!! And for the best part, THE VIEWS! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE VIEWS! We stayed in room #3 and the view was to die for! Every day we stared out at Turtle Rock and at least 40 other beautiful rocks that are a constant show of waves hitting and tides coming up and down. So incredible and the deck in our room was a dream! Anyway, we're already telling all our favorite friends and dream to one day go back up with them when things are more covid safe. Until then, IF YOU'RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A RESERVATION (YES YOU HAVE TO CONTACT THEM OLD SCHOOL STYLE-- NO ONLINE BOOKINGS BUT WORTH THE EFFORT)~~ BOOK IT RIGHT AWAY AND DON'T THINK TWICE! YOU'LL THANK THIS REVIEW WHEN YOU GET THERE AND RIGHT YOUR OWN AMAZING ONE. The very excellent views make this an amazing inn. That and the sweet chorus sea lions perched on the many "turtle " rocks in the ocean right outside. Innkeepers Francine and Roger are helpful and know the area well. Breakfast is done well and there are sweet cakes out in the common room as well as coffee and tea. Yes, the decor is dated, but it was clean and comfortable. And, there is no happy hour in the afternoon with wine or savory snacks. I'd have liked a fridge in the room, but there was one in the dining room we could all share. Also, no in-room coffee, which I'd prefer to getting dressed. They do provide robes. The prices are reasonable and for the view and location, we'd definitely return!

I am going to give this review 4 stars partially because of the potential of this place., not the total experience. We have stayed in a lot of B&B's and inns, and the physical structure of the space here is really lovely. The views are spectacular, the rooms are spacious, and, in our room, we actually had an additional room with a sink and mirror and vanity. What made it hard for me to give this a five star rating were the following... 1. The decor is bland and outdated. I tried to overlook that, but I was mentally re-decorating from the moment I opened the door to our room. With this amazing view, it would be lovely not to have so many fussy little lace covers and cloth on every table and surface. Yes, that sounds picky, but this is an expensive place to stay, so expectations are high. See photos. 2. We were 'greeted' at the front door (locked) with a gruff "Do you have a reservation?" Not hello or welcome or any other polite comment. 3. There is no wine/nibbles hour in the afternoon. Personal preference, I realize, but we would much prefer that to the sweets that are in the common room. The good points include the hosts Roger and Francine (once you're "in"!) who are friendly and helpful. Really nice breakfast is served each day. Phone conversations were excellent. And again, the location and views are great.

Turtle Rocks - rocked! My partner and I went up to Trinidad,Ca so I could scratch Redwood National Forest off of my bucket list :) The inn was very quaint, our room was very spacious and had a view of the ocean. What else can you ask for! Well. Our room was right by the kitchen and the fridge stocked with cold drinks. There is a lovely little garden. You can go down some steps and enjoy the amazing sunsets. Roger was a great host, chef, everything! He took time to talk to his guests and asked me if I was a warriors fan, and since we are we were in good with the boss. He also came to welcome us at the door and I really appreciated the humanness. He has suggestions on trails, etc. I had the most relaxing time. Will go again!!

We found Turtle Rocks online, after having compared plenty of other possible B&Bs, Turtle Rocks came out the best. And the best it is! The room with balcony we got exceeded our epectations. After a day of hiukinfg and sight seeing, it was good to relax on the well equiped balcony, just listening to the chatter of the sea lions. Everything you would want, when away from home, was there and even more. The bed was just awesome, very comfortable, we slept like babies after having roamed the Red Woods. The breakfast and snacks offered were totally fresh, healthy and served with a smile. Our host had prepared an awesome itinerary for all his guests pouring in his knowledge and experiences of the area, which gave us the best trip ever. Thanks again Roger, we will be back! PS, we loved watching you feeding the colorful birds in your garden every morning.

Gorgeous views, yummy breakfast, nighttime snacks, beautiful room. Couldn't ask for anything better! Also the added plus of watching your own streaming services instead of cable on the tv.

All I can say is WOW. If God, the universe, whatever you want to call it, has blessed you with finding this place, book now! Don't hesitate! This place is magical. I booked a trip to the redwood forest for Christmas and my 29th birthday and was recommended to this place when my original bed and breakfast fell through due to a Covid issue. I feel incredibly blessed that I was pointed to Turtle Rocks! The views are absolutely incredible, the room was so cozy, and Roger and Francine are truly a delight. I felt so cared for! As soon as I arrived, I was shown my room and the kitchen (which always has fresh cookies, coffee cakes, sodas, sparking apple juice, organic teas, organic coffee, and fruit). I grabbed a coffee cake and cookies with a hot tea and enjoyed a delightful sunset on the private balcony before settling in. Roger and Francine make fantastic breakfasts and coffee. Each morning I would go down and watch the birds and have a chat with them while they prepared a delicious and filling breakfast. I cannot speak highly enough of this place! It just felt so wonderful and cozy. I felt incredibly cared for. There is nothing like falling asleep with the balcony door cracked to the sound of roaring waves and sea lions. If you're looking for a magical experience, this is your place!! Roger even drew me a map for my drive back down the coast which took me a much better and more scenic route than my GPS was going to take me. Thank you Roger and Francine. God bless you! Perfect stay for me. I could not be happier. I'll be recommending this place to anyone who plans to visit the Redwoods!

We visited Turtle Rocks Inn a few years ago in December. The hosts were welcoming and genuinely nice. The location can't be beaten, with rooms above the Pacific Ocean and the sound of the sea lions. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is exceptional. While the bathroom was a little dated, everything worked great. There is a certain kitchiness to the place that makes it endearing and we can only look forward to come back again. The proximity to several old forests makes the trip worthwhile, even coming from the East Coast. It is a beautiful and relatively unspoiled area.

I can not imagine wanting anything more out of this BNB. Roger and franchise were so helpful and nice. First class view! The room was very spacious and everything had the care of the owners detail. Can I say the breakfast and baked goods? Are you kidding? fantastic!

I have had my eye on this place for quite some time now. I finally jumped! The location is perfect, each room comes with an exquisite view of the ocean and a private deck. The first 2 nights I booked the suite. The deck and view had outstanding views! Absolutely breath taking. The room was large and with high ceilings and gorgeous wooden beams. It had a mini fire place that was really convenient because you will want to crack a window to listen to the ocean. ( very relaxing ) Each room has large roomy tubs, the bathrooms are a bit dated but hey! It goes with the whole ambiance... The 3rd night I moved to a smaller room with an AMAZING view also! I was very pleased with the rooms set up. They place a comfy love seat in front of the window and it's very cozy! The down sides are the beds.... they are not comfortable what so ever. Pillows yes. Mattress NO. My back is still hurting. The staff was very friendly and the smell of fresh cooked breakfast is always nice to wake up to! I will recommend to any of my friends and family!

Loved everything about this inn. The inn keepers' attention to detail was evident in every aspect of our stay. Our room was very very comfortable and very very clean and well appointed. A delicious, home made and generous breakfast was provided every morning by the inn keeper and the breakfast room was a cheerful spot to meet and chat with other guests. A generous variety of Beverages were also available from a stocked vintage refrigerator all day long as were a wide assortment of teas . We highly recommend this inn

Arguably the best place to stay in Humboldt County. Close to some amazing beaches and restaurants and hiking spots that are world-class!

I'm sorry to ever have to give a review like this, but the interaction I had on the phone with Turtle Rocks this afternoon was the worst customer service I have ever experienced and left me in tears. -The owner refused to tell me the price of the room at first and implied that I could not afford to stay at the hotel, and claimed it was because at the beginning of the conversation I asked if they could accommodate 4 people in one room. I would have been happy to pay for 2 rooms, I was simply looking for more information. -Toward the end of our conversation the owner actually berated me and tried to make me feel bad about the fact that I had called them last out of the establishments in the area. Trinidad has limited availability due to covid restrictions, and I had been calling desperately around for a room, because I am traveling last minute due to a family emergency. At this point in the conversation I was too upset, the manager refused to make any kind of apology, so I just hung up. This is not the way customers deserve to be treated, regardless of covid stress. My experience with the manager at Turtle Rocks was an added stressor at an already stressed time, and I do not think they deserve anyone's business until they remedy the way they treat all their customers. To talk down to well meaning people because they don't sound like they can afford you is truly disgusting.

My husband and I took a chance on this Bed and Breakfast, and we certainly enjoyed every moment. We were driving the west coast highway and going from LA to Brookings OR. Roger and Francine were absolutely the nicest people, very informative and always had drinks available and snacks. You can hear the sea lions, sea gulls by the seaside. It was purely amazing. We loved it so much we stopped again on our way back. Francine cooks the best home made quiche, breads and cinnamon rolls. There are lots of chairs to sit and watch the waves and the beautiful sunset. Humming birds are all around and very entertaining. The rooms are quiet, very clean, and feel homey. The bed is comfortable and the bathrooms are big, nice and the shower is huge, with lots of water pressure. I highly recommend this when you are around the area. Very sweet people and wonderful get away!!

This is the definition of a location to truly get away from it all. Pros: Great views of the ocean. Easy access to Patricks Point State Park. Super friendly staff who provide one of the greatest home cooked breakfasts ever. Cons: Rooms can use a little updating but are still comfortable. There is not much in the way of dining unless you drive about 5 miles to the south. Overall: This is my second visit...I have and still recommend it to others for a great getaway.

Turtle Rocks BB is our place to stay when we are going to Trinidad CA. Room 4 is good but the suite with two rooms Is just as good. Ocean view that never quits, the roar of the waves, sounds from the Sea Lion's and the breakfast is perfect. Hospitality that won't quit. Come stay here and enjoy the view. Update Back to Turtle Rock Inn. 1/15/17 It was a beautiful sunset tonight. My wife and I always look forward to staying here.

What a wonderful stay. I love the couple that runs this place too. Going to sleep with the waves crashing in is a true experience. Havent slept like that in years.

If you are looking for amazing hospitality, welcoming hosts, spacious, comfortable, and private rooms, you have found the right place! What lacks in updated decor is made up for with some of the most beautiful views around! We will definitely be back.

Check in was especially easy at this sleepy little bed and breakfast. We were greeted by the owner/manager and immediately went to our room where we were amazed by the outstanding views of the ocean. The The sea lions talked/barked all day long and they had some free binoculars for you to get a good view of the ocean. They had cakes and cookies and coffee and tea in the communal room. The decor was a little outdated but the rooms were large and the views were unbeatable.

I headed up the coast with the goal of camping at Patricks Point State Park. I am so happy the campground was booked solid. I drove a few blocks and found the Turtle Rocks Inn. I had an amazing room with a deck, overlooking their beautiful gardens and of course the ocean. I had a king size bed, living room area with an electric wood stove, tub and shower. They had a TV (I didn't need it with the ocean view), they even had bathrobes. The bathroom was completely stocked, even had bath crystals. Downstairs was homemade chocolate chip cookies (the best I have ever eaten), the fridge was stocked with ice and drinks. There was a great eating area and the views very stunning. Breakfast the next morning was amazing. We had homemade cheese and squash frittata, homemade scones (again the best I've ever eaten), garlic red potatoes, chicken applewood sausage, fruit, yogurt, etc. Roger and Francine are amazing hosts, I enjoyed talking with them and learning their story. I would definitely recommend this Inn and I will be back.

Awesome place to stay. My husband and I had the "suite" that had a panoramic view of the ocean. We are super picky about hotel beds (we travel a lot!) and I can tell you that this bed was a slice of HEAVEN!!!! We had a huge deck, big tub, plenty of room. The kitchen was open to guests for FREE beverages (soda, carbonated water, sodas, coffee and tea) plus fresh baked goods. There's a fabulous restaurant 2 miles from this place that we brought dinner back to our room both nights which was perfect to us. Honestly, while I created this account/review for this place, they don't even need it! I probably will regret giving out this gem of a place, but I am an avid YELPER, so I felt compelled. PS: while the place is 100% comfortable and cozy, the property hasn't been updated in a long time. ..so don't expect it! !!!!

Turtle rocks oceanfront inn is the place to stay in Trinidad. The view overlooking the ocean is breathtaking! The outside garden trail leading to the seating area where you can watch the sunset, & listen to the sea lions barking is amazing ... The rooms are huge...I've have never slept so well. The breakfast is five star ... The owners are lovely, l felt like part of the family I've never written a review before but, this definitely deserves a five star!

8/2018 : This trip to Trinidad included myself, my husband and our two young boys 3 and 1. My boys had knocked over the screen, which fell and knocked over TV and the screen shattered. I was horrified. I googled the model number to see how much I could expect to pay to replace it. Francine told us to not let this ruin our day and told us we were blessed. We left to try and enjoy our day, headed to the redwoods, but still the broken TV was in the back of my mind and didn't help with our situation/marriage which was very much broken - you could probably cut the tension with a knife. I received a phone call from Roger as we arrived to the Redwoods and he explained to me that the insurance was going to cover the cost and told us to have some grace. Today I woke up thinking about how Roger and Francine gave us grace and how blessed we are to have met them and stayed in their inn. Their kindness will never be forgotten. Breakfast and coffee are wonderfully paired with locally grown products. You cannot beat the view, the sounds of the seals and waves, the smell of the sea. If you need to refresh and become renewed, or just get away from your day to day, this is a wonderful place with wonderful people who are sincerely good people.

We did a road trip up "The One" and found this Inn for a place to stay. I am so glad we did! The rooms are so clean, comfortable and every attention to detail has been thought of! After a day of hiking in the Redwoods, I happened across this delightful Inn yesterday and decided to stop. The view from my private balcony was wonderful, and I could hear the Sea Lions from the rocks in the bay. I had a delicious breakfast this morning, and my hosts made sure to provide me with various tasty gluten-free items, making me feel cared for and well fed. This place is ideal.

This was amazing! Our first bed and breakfast and I think it could only go downhill from here. I woke up and before I lifted my head I just stared at the ocean while lying down. While staring at the ocean a whale shot it's spout! The breakfast was amazing too. All I can say is, go here. It is worth it! The breakfasts would easily be $40 at a restaurant and everything is fresh. Coffee and tea available all day. Refrigerator that is fully stocked with beverages. Fresh baked goods on the counters to snack on. They also gave us an a two day guide on what to see and how to get there for the area. We loved it!

We live close by, in Arcata, but we stayed at the Inn for a night just to get away and celebrate our anniversary. The view from our room was just fantastic. We had a lovely time. It was quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.

Got a call back and they explained that they are booked and have limited rooms due to Covid. Appreciate the call and explanation. With that being said, since I have not stayed there yet! It is only fair to give 5 and update when I do stay there. Place looks beautiful!

This charming bed & breakfast is in a beautiful spot with great views of the Pacific Ocean from every room. The rooms are large and comfortable and the breakfast is amazing! Roger and Francine made you feel like you where a guest in their own home, and it was a privilege to stay here.

We just finished our wonderful stay at turtle rock. We were celebrating our 2nd anniversary and had room #1and it was perfect! It had a nice deck with a beautiful view of the ocean. We arrived on friday and we were treated to spouting whales everywhere! We really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies while sipping wine and watching the whales. The sea lions were a kick and very vocal. Breakfast both days was amazing and filling. It was nice to have fresh fruit to take on our hike and cold drinks to grab on our return. Once again we enjoyed some of those delicious cookies! This was our first b & b experience and it was a wonderful one. We definitely will return.

We made a last minute reservation during the week and Francine upgraded us to a corner suite, which was huge and had incredible views of the ocean and a nice deck! Homemade cookies, complimentary sodas, water and fruit plus a delicious breakfast (yay for sausage and egg choices) made this place great. The other three couples that stayed the same night were older and I'd say this Inn could easily capture a younger hip crowd with an updated decor. We are 37 and 42 years old and we hesitate to stay at bed and breakfasts because it can feel like staying at your parents house with rules plus Aunt Sally next door but these rooms were really private and we would stay here again!

We stayed in the suite for one night. The accommodations were wonderful, and the view was amazing! The house is very clean and we felt "at home" during our stay. Breakfast was super duper delicious. We didn't hear a peep from any neighbors, other guests, etc., during our stay. The grounds are beautiful too. We highly recommend this B&B and hope to return one day! Susy & Vincent

My boyfriend and I came here on vacation and love it!!!! The innkeepers are so welcoming and helpful! The views are breathtaking and the rooms are big. Beautiful little walk out back with places to sit and watch the waves and sea lions. Breakfast each morning and afternoon deserts. It is a little expensive and our bath faucet isn't working but the shower head works and they have bath salts which I loved! Such a nice touch! Also have the little fireplace heaters.

This was our second choice as we looked for a nice place to spend the night on our drive down the coast. First choice was full, but they recommended we try Turtle Rocks. The view was amazing, our hosts were helpful, and we had a nice breakfast before we headed out to do a little exploring. Hosts put together a nice guide packet so we could pick and choose what we wanted to do and see based on our time constraints. B&B layout was kind of funky, but spacious and clean.

4.25 stars. We crept along dark, curving roads to reach this lovely bed and breakfast one October night, the full moon gently glowing in the sky. Making our way to the front entrance nestled away from the road, we were greeted by Francine, one of the Turtle Rocks owners, who showed us the common rooms, door to the main balcony and gardens, and plate of chocolate chip cookies that had been saved for us. Settling into the simple but spacious and comfortably furnished Palmer Room, we stood outside for a few brisk moments to gaze at the moon, and then nestled under the covers, keeping our windows open through the night so we could be serenaded by the crashing waves and occasional barks from the seals. The heavenly king bed immediately ensured a peaceful night's sleep. We arose early the next morning, and wandered downstairs to find Francine placing slices of pineapple coffee cake on the kitchen counter for us. Francine suggested a quick morning visit to Patricks Point State Park (which had lovely views of the ocean and lagoon), and when we returned a couple of hours later, a breakfast feast of zucchini and Swiss quiche (flavorful, light, and skillfully prepared), apple chicken sausage, coffee cake, berries and melon, potatoes, and other items had been placed on the buffet table. After our breakfast, we wandered out to the gardens, which had been terraced and offered views of the ocean and several places to sit quietly. The landscaping was stunning, with unexpected tropical flowers and sturdy pavers. As we prepared to leave, Francine and Roger gave us several tips for seeing the redwoods, and provided their own visitor's guide for our reference. We departed with promises for a beautiful, inspiring journey through the forests. Turtle Rocks is ideal for anyone who enjoys unassuming comfort and hospitality.

Wonderful place to stay, with expansive ocean views, yummy breakfast, clean room, friendly and helpful hosts. Superb hiking at nearby Patrick's Point and Prairie Creek Parks.

This inn is extremely overpriced for the accomodations. It does have an incredible view, and the rooms are large. But that's about it for the pluses. The furniture, the decor, the facilities were mediocre at best. We had just come from a beautiful inn in Ashland and paid about the same price as we did at the Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn. We were extremely disappointed..

If you ever want to know the power of search, I have proof it works. I ran across this place on the internet and decided its time for a spontaneous road trip to the Redwoods. There's no way I would've ever found it or driven up that specific road without seeing online first. Their website wasn't overwhelmingly good but it was decent enough to get the picture that Turtle Rocks would probably be a great, quiet retreat. While the house was friendly, the decor was slightly dated, homely feeling if you will. The rooms are large and spacious and all overlook the ocean with an outstanding view of the Pacific. With the exception of the barking seals, the place is incredibly quiet and peaceful. A perfect respite and getaway. The next morning we awoke to the very tempting smell of breakfast wafting into our room. The chicken apple sausage and homemade quiches were worth the price of admission alone. Turtle Rocks was a great launching pad for a day in the Redwoods. If your goal is to stay at a hotel near the heart of town, this place probably isnt for you. But if you want a home away from home that is friendly and peaceful, I'd definitely recommend staying a night or two at the Turtle Rocks.

A Great Place with FANTASTIC views! We arrived late in the afternoon/ evening after 7 hours of driving and the Inn was a welcome site. We had a wonderful ocean front room and the Innkeepers were kind enough to have 2 twin beds for our 7 and 9 year-old kids. The room was very large and more then adequate for the four of us. We also enjoyed a family bath in the extra large tub (the water pressure was a tad light ). The room was not fancy by any means but it was very large and the beds were very comfy and we all slept very well. We woke to the sounds of the Sea Lions barking as they perched on a large shelf of the largest of the Turtle Rocks. The view from our bed was unbelievable. Breakfast was sumptuous! A lovely Quiche, a strawberry coffeecake, steamed herbed potatoes, granola, fresh fruit, yogurt, rolls with fresh jam. We all ate heartily and a good thing too since we went on lovely long hikes through the redwoods, which were a hop skip and a jump from the Inn. Not to be missed is Patrick Point State Park, a short drive North of the Inn. We definitely enjoyed our stay and found the $205 price tage well worth it.

Superb place, we went for Valentine weekend here and absolutely liked the place. It's owned by a family. Great service, very friendly n helpful family. Awesome breakfast n evening snacks too. I would recommend all my friends to go here. Our room had mindblowing views !!!! Must go place !
