We had an incredible lunch here at Tuyas! The food was excellent and our server was friendly and fun. Fish tacos were delicious and cheese enchiladas were great. If you’re in Ferndale this is a must visit !!!

Google
Service is excellent, nice vibe inside. Chips and salsa are some of the best that I've had. Unfortunately the chicken in the taquitos was dry so disappointing. May try another dish next time.

Google
The service is the best part! Every person we've interacted with is super kind and helpful. The food is amazing. Big portions and we all loved what we ordered (chimmigungas, mole, taco salad).

Google
Ok, this place is quite the find in quiet little Ferndale! Stopped here and had two Asada Enchiladas and Chicken Taquitos both fresh and excellent food quality! Chips were super homemade crispy and salsa had just the right taste and kick. The outdoor sidewalk seating was very pleasant as the road traffic is light and downtown feels very casual. House margaritas were not from a mix and had decent amount of tequila.

Google
We came here for dinner. The restaurant looks so cool with a bunch of paintings. Their bar next door was filled with people. The fish taco is amazing!!!!!! They also gave up the tortilla chips for free (and you can ask for more) the chicken soup is warm and full of chickens! The Tazas is super cool. I never try those before. I also got magarita and it was good! The staffs were friendly too despite we are coming in late.

I I am up in Ferndale at least once a month and I absolutely love Tuyas! The calamari is awesome, great fish tacos, and the lemon drops are the perfect blend of f sweet and sour. The servers are friendly and interacted with small my grandsons as well.

Google
Excellent restaurant, super friendly staff and wonderful food. Can’t say enough great things about them. We will drive up from Garberville just to eat here and go back home. With it and everyone is super nice and always friendly.

Google
Great service, and great food! Excellent for quick bites if on the go. They have a large alcohol selection. Prices are decent as the portions are HUGE. Everything was very fresh and absolutely delicious!

Yelp
The best spicy margarita! Deliciously mouthwatering, perfectly balanced. Then i had the lettuce wrapped mole which was fresh and delicious, followed with carnitas sliders and they were so so good!! The service was impeccable even though our waitress was also the bartender and hostess! Very clean and beautifully appointed!

Yelp
What a cute little place to eat for lunch. We came on a Monday lunch and was surprised that the store was pretty much packed. We were able to snag a place near the big windows which was so nice. I typically don't order tacos at restaurants because I feel like the amount is too little, but I wasn't feeling super hungry so I ordered the Fish Tacos and I was surprised about how big each taco was. It took me about 10+ bites to get through 1 taco and each taco was so big that it had to sit on its own plate. I can't say that this is the best taco I've ever had, but I appreciate the sauces they provide and the fact that the fish was very tender. If you're in Ferndale, highly recommend coming here to eat. The fact that they also have complimentary salsa and chips just makes it that much better.

Yelp
When it came to service, our server was the nicest! But when it came to food, it wasn't the best. When our chips in salsa arrived, the chips were delicious but the salsa on the other hand tasted like tomato sauce with some onion and cilantro. When we ordered enchiladas, they had to substitute the corn tortilla to a flower one. Which was fine, since it was a choice that we agreed to. We also ordered a asada burrito, that mainly consisted of beans, rice and hardly any meat. I wasn't offered any salsa or anything to be paired with it. Instead I asked for salsa and was charged for it. My biggest question is, What Mexican restaurant does not provide salsa for a burrito? With the kids meals, I had to order a side for rice just to pair their burritos with it. Overall I don't think this place has authentic Mexican food. I would definitely be looking going somewhere else. Also BEWARE! They charge a "card service fee" without any acknowledgment!

Yelp
We stopped here on NYE and shared great drinks, wonderful avocado bites, delicious chips, a vegan burrito, and a vegan bowl. What a treat on the road!

Yelp
The food was really good, and the outdoor seating was nice, and the food came quickly!

Yelp
I thought the good was quite good. Service was cheerful. It's a very beautiful building inside and out. We had an enjoyable lunch here.

Yelp
This quaint little restaurant came highly recommended by locals for their tacos. The service was A+ very friendly people and atmosphere. The food was ok. This town is adorable with its Victorian vibe.

Yelp
So we were visiting my daughter and her boyfriend who live in the area and we wanted to head to Ferndale for early dinner before watching the sunset over the ocean. I had a hankering for Mexican food and, thx again to Yelp, found Tuyas. Tuyas is on the small side in terms of seating but very cozy and we didn't feel cramped - very nice spacing on the table layout. Okay, now for the food and drink. Their house margarita is solid. I had that while my daughter had the blackberry marg which she enjoyed. We're off to a good start. Chips and salsa is the classic first appetizer. The chips tasted home made and were very good - the home made, thicker type of chip. None of us were wowed by the salsa which was very watery. On to the real first appetizer....The Avocado Bites looked intriguing - avocado, coated in panko and deep fried. I've never heard nor had that dish before so we tried it. The verdict - it was odd. Not bad, not great just odd. The soft avocado texture tied to the deep fry was different - some may love it, some may not. We were divided on the dish. Okay, on to the main dishes. The Chile Verde was a big hit as well as the fish tacos - very well prepared cod, good seasoning and was an excellent light dinner choice. My wife had the chicken taquitos which were a little on the bland side, but good. I'm big on trying a new restaurant's mole so I ordered the Chicken Mole. The dish had chunks of chicken, pre mixed with the mole vs. having a entree (like chicken or enchiladas) and the mole is drizzled on. So this was different. The taste was also different...a little more heat than most mole sauces and a thicker texture than most...again, not bad, not great, a little odd. The service was 5 star - very, very good. Our overall take was that we would absolutely come here again and there was a lot to like but there are some dishes that were not as successful as others. We will be back.

Yelp
Fish Taco: Good Chili Verde Taco: Good Carnitas Tacos: Burned to a crisp Beans: Good Rice: Good For being a small town, it was definitely good.

Yelp
Less than optimal mole. I have been here many times and this was by far the most disappointing time. My mole tasted terrible and if it was with meat (it was supposed to be) I could've sworn the meat was old. My friends had the same experience with their meals as well. I

Yelp
The half order of nachos were definitely interesting to receive. But overall tasted extremely good and it was guaranteed a good bite out of the 6 chips we got

Yelp
Had a delightful lunch at Tuyas. What a gem in Ferndale. Big shout out to the food and excellent service. The decor seems sparse, but look again it's colorful and artistic. Please stop here for a delicious and relaxing upscale Mexican food experience.

Yelp
Great Mexican food! We are from Southern California and do not try much Mexican food when we go on vacation because we are Mexican and picky about our food. When I first walked in and saw blue corn street taco and I was a little worried about this place maybe being just trying to be trendy. Our server was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations. We started with the Calamari and it was battered in masa which I never tried before and it was delicious! The chips and salsa was fresh and excellent. It comes with red salsa but we also asked for the green salsa and it was just as good. I played it safe and ordered the Asada burrito and my wife had the steak fajitas. We were both very satisfied with our meals. I love Horchata but always compare it to my Father in law's because that's the best I have had so far. They make it in house and it was really close too his. If you are ever in or near Ferndale stop by and try this great Mexican food! Ask for the green salsa with your chips. Try the Horchata if you're a fan.

Yelp
We ate lunch at this cute little spot in Ferndale today. We'd heard good things about it and we wanted to give it a try. We were party of 4 with. Baby. We got seated right away and drink orders placed. The menu isn't just our typical Mexican menu. It has some interesting twists like carnitas sliders and lettuce wraps with chicken mole. At our table we had a burrito, steak fajitas, a tostada and I had the sliders. It came pretty quickly which was good with a tired baby. I was impressed that they make fresh tortillas and everything was really quality. I didn't expect to find such good Mexican food in this little pastoral town but I'm glad we did!!

Yelp
Had a great appetizer of carnitas sliders and slit a burrito with my wife. AND OH YES! They now have a full bar! Great margaritas! So good!!!

Yelp
Like many customers who dine here, Jamie W. and I had been on a long road trip from the Bay Area and probably should've stopped earlier to sustain ourselves. I already knew Ferndale was a charming town from my first visit here about three years back, so we took our chances finding a place for a late lunch. We noticed this bright Mexican spot on Main Street was pretty popular, so we stopped in to discover a colorfully decorated space that matched up well with our vacation mood. I think it would be accurate to describe the Mexican food served here as California-style Mexican along the lines of chains like Rubio's or Chipotle. That might be good news for some, but there was just something persistently unexceptional about what we had. Jamie ordered the $10 Carnitas Burrito. Certainly no complaints about the size which was huge. Lots of refried beans and wet pork mixed with pepper jack cheese wrapped in a large flour tortilla (photo: https://bit.ly/3nFvSeo). His overall take was that it was bland in flavor, which was the same reaction I had to the $14 Tuyas "Super" Quesadilla. This was huge as well with the pork, pepper jack cheese, shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, and sour cream stuffed into a large flour tortilla folded and then cut into thirds (photo: https://bit.ly/3aaefk1). It was OK, just bland. As a point of comparison, I had a lengua quesadilla with pico de gallo about a week later in an authentic taqueria in San Jose. It just had the oomph factor I was missing here. FOOD - 3 stars...portions are big and ingredients taste fresh but something was missing AMBIANCE - 4 stars..spacious with a lot of colorful art SERVICE - 3.5 stars...pretty busy but reasonably attentive TOTAL - 3 stars..,Mexican for the masses RELATED - Lost on the Lost Coast? Yelp
We stopped here to have lunch and I was not disappointed! We ordered 2 orders of nachos. One beef and one pork. They were very tasty. Not dry at all! Each family member ordered something different. I ordered the pastor tacos. The flavoring on the pork was perfect. It came with three and I probably couldn't eaten more. This place does accommodate a lot of big parties plus on the other side is a bar side. There's two places you can go. Service was great. She was very quick with the orders and always asking us if we needed anything. Definitely will go back when I'm up in Humboldt county.

Yelp
Amazing everything - food, service, ambiance. The place to eat in Ferndale anytime. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Thriver S.

Yelp
Service was excellent; prompt, friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was excellent; outdoors in beautiful weather without a bunch of traffic exhaust to breathe in. Rice and beans; what i expect more from a road side diner version of Mexican...you know the stuff ; orangish bla rice with beans that are sort of runny and little flavor in either but filled me up and certainly edible and filling ..there was a tad of flavor in the beans. Chili Rellenos : fresh flavorful Chile, not too much cheese but it was not at all crispy .. it was somewhat soggy (oil temperature not high enough causes that oil to be absorbed in to the food more). Had i not been so hungry I'd be tempted to ask for another attempt at it and if i hadn't touched it hopefully it wouldn't go to waste cause i could see it was not crispy and few taps with a utensil was all it took to confirm it. Salsa and chips, tortillas: corn are homemade and chips too i think and both were very good. The salsa was sadly watery and neither that nor the green sauce i had on Rellenos were mild ..when i asked the waitress considerately asked if I'd like on the side so that was helpful. Portions: definitely enough to fill me up and left overs (they give tortillas along with chips salsa and beans and rice) though i dont eat as much as some folks it does mean it should be filling for most people just won't have leftovers. Flavor over all Especially at peak harvest season in a climate that allows for growing some things easily and plenty for farms nearby that sell wholesale it would be so easy to add some color and flavor to their dishes. Likely could grow their own lettuce, cilantro, tomatoes, oregano or whatever. Add some cumin, chunks of fresh red onion onion and tomato in the salsa and perhaps some bright red bell pepper to the bland rice. Smoked paprika kicks things up a notch too. No excuse for not offering options for more flavor...i make better at home and I'm no chef. Refried beans can have more structure but i guess watering them down saves costs...at least add more flavor. Diced yellow onion is nice even if on side to add if one wants to or not. I asked for a side of sour cream to cool off the sauces heat (all one has to do is remove seeds and you get the flavor without burning sensation) . It was 2.50 or was it 2.75 which was shocking. Just some added flavor and attention to some detail such as with crispy Rellenos and this place would jump two more stars for me. If it were a cheaper roadside diner id give it four stars.

Yelp
Had a lovely lunch here Great time Great tap beer selection I had Patron Margaritas and a beer ( not driving). Fried guacamole a first. Delicious nachos. 4 of us had Camarones, enchiladas, etc. Try it in Ferndale.

Yelp
Overall I reallllly want to like this place but there was a big consistent miss. Wound up here by accident and decided to stop in. We must have been the first customers and ONLY customers the entire time we were there. The atmosphere was pretty nice all around. It felt welcoming and festive. The service was prompt and courteous, and the staff was well engaged. Here's my quick takes: -Chips & Salsa: mild but tasty -Sangria: refreshing and tasty -Avocado Bites: overpriced for a single avo but delicious -Rice & Beans: Standard and tasty -Enchiladas: good mole flavor, chicken was dry -Street tacos: good presentation, all around dry Overall I really wanted to like this place but the consistent theme for both my dish and my husbands dish were the same. No matter the meat... it was dry. I'm used to enchiladas being smothered in sauce, yet the sauce here was very minimal and the chicken was very dry inside. The street tacos, we tried the asada, pastor, and the chile verde... the asada was flavored well but dry. The pastor (which is normally the MOST flavorful in my opinion) had no flavor and was dry. And the chile verde, which I hoped would save the day since it was sauced... was also dry despite the sauce. I'm not sure what happened, like if the meat was reheated or what, but as traditional street tacos go, they are usually dripping with flavor and juice... and here, there was only three solitary dots of drippings on my plate. So... I'll come back and try this place again because the vibe is very nice... but hoping that the quality of meat steps up a notch or that might be our last visit. Time will tell.

Robin S.

Yelp
Service was good but food was quite mediocre. Salty. Fish tacos were not plentiful. Arugala salad was old and not plentiful in their ingredients. Chimichanga literally had 1/2 teaspoon of sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes.

Yelp
Update.. gave it some time. Returned and wow. Came in on a random Sunday for some house made Sangria, stayed for some appetizers and wow they have come along way. The Las tazas were light and refreshing, def keto friendly and incredibly delicious. Sangria went down easy, I've had better outside of Humboldt and in Europe, but for Ferndale these were just what the doctor ordered. Chips and salsa with the menu. The chip salsa is definitely homemade and was wonderfully fresh and yummy. Definitely Tsommm worthy and full of yum. We will be back! Cheers and we'll done.

Yelp
On September 28th outside Tuyas Bar and Restaurant in Ferndale a group of adults and a 14 year old boy decided to intimidate, surround, cuss out and threaten three pre-teen girls and a five year old boy until they were crying with fright. A larger group of adults from the same establishment filmed the incident but did not intervene to protect the young girls and small child. Many of the adult observers laughed watching this group of adults bully children. The attack on these young children was apparently due to the kids being dressed up in costumed and identifying as not heteronormative. They were playing together and not harming anyone in any way when adults decided, likely due to their own deep and troubled issues, that they had to scare, insult, and express bigotry to them. I have instucted the young kids who were victimized by these particularly offensive adults to immediately call 911 if any of them ever approach the victims again. I have further reinforced that the adults opinions and beliefs indicate the sinful and evil nature of their souls. We must all remember that our creator instructs us that the measure of our character is taken by how we treat the most vulnerable members of our community. The measure Tuyas and of Ferndales character has been taken and found wanting

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Incredibly tasty fish tacos and burritos in a bright, colorful setting. Service was lovely. We opted for the lavender lemonade at our server's suggestion and we didn't regret it. Took off one star because the tables and chairs did not have felt pads. On a tile floor, this made for a LOT of noise, especially with kids and their caregivers scooting back and forth. Would definitely come back again to try more of the menu!

Yelp
The options in Ferndale on a Monday are few and far between so I'm going to be a little generous with four stars. There weren't many people working and the waitress that was running the bar area was doing her best. I had a decent agave wine watermelon jalapeño margarita and chicken salad, and my husband had an ok IPA and a very good shrimp diablo with blue tortillas. As a community dining out I think we all need to show patience and understanding and just realize we are not back to what dining out was like in 2019, and if we ever want to get there we need to show support for the businesses and staff that are trying really hard.

Yelp
Wow. What a great find! Real, gourmet Mexican food, right in quaint downtown Ferndale. Fish tacos were perfect. Margaritas even better. Abby was the friendliest, most attentive server we've ever encountered. Great food, great location, great decor, great atmosphere. What's not to like?

Yelp
Really fun and unexpected experience in downtown Ferndale. I had made stop between Ave of the Giants and our hotel in Arcata in Ferndale in search of dinner and wanted to drive over the historic town bridge. Unfortunately by the we got to town, most shops were closed but we heard some lively music coming from Tuyas and seeing the menu, no matter-it was time for some food after a long day of roadside stops and hiking. There are two locations, side by side. One is a hybrid of a bar/dining establishment while the other is purely the restaurant. We sat on the bar side but service was wonderful and it was pretty chill scene. Complimentary chips and salsa are so good-not your jarred or bagged variety. I got the vegan burrito which was actually full of colorful veggies (at some places they will just slap some rice and beans together and that's it for "vegan.") It was flavorful and filling. My boyfriend got the chicken salad which he really enjoyed. Fun atmosphere and excellent food. Worth the 5 miles off the 101 to get here during your travels in Humboldt.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service, and food. Triple winner! My Grandmother used to make mole, so when I saw this on the menu, on a road trip stop in Ferndale CA., I expected to be served some watered down Americanized version of the mole I was used to. I WAS WRONG! My Grandmother would've been jealous! Las Tazas Crisp hearts of Romain lettuce cups filled w/chicken mole, corn pico de gallo, queso fresco, sesame seeds & avocado. Highly recommend! The seared fish tacos and carne asada tacos were equally delicious. I had to ask our server (the delightful Vanessa) what was up - the food was THAT good. She said the two chefs were from Oaxaca and were just fabulous. I agree. I could taste and feel the culture and love in every bite. Seriously considered moving to Ferndale.

Yelp
We dined here in the middle of a long trip from Tucson to Northern California, and this was the best experience we had in the 12 day trip including the Bay Area, Sacramento, and San Diego. I came here because the Yelp reviews were so good and boy, they were right! This really may well be the best Mexican food we've had anywhere! First of all, the ambiance is charming, I loved the art work and the overall feel and vibe of this little restaurant. Secondly, the food was just fantastic! Thirdly, they have MANY gluten-free options. And finally, the service was just wonderful. And the manager came over to chat with us as well (I like that, and she really appreciated our business). The margaritas were great. We started with the Las Tazas (chicken mole filled lettuce cups), not just a great gluten-free option but a delicious appetizer, period. I'm not even normally a fan of mole but Tuyas' was delicious. My wife absolutely LOVED the street tacos, and I had the Tuyas Enchlada platter, and it blew me away. I don't know what it was. Every single element was delicious. I actually enjoyed the taste of the tortilla, let alone the awesome tomatillo sauce, the moist, flavorful chicken, and even the sides (both rice and beans) were outstanding! It's not that often that every single element of a dish shines but that was certainly the case with these enchiladas. I would say if you are even remotely near Humboldt County, make it a point to eat here, you won't regret it!

Yelp
5 stars for their mole sauce. Just enough spice, and not overly bitter. Their chips and salsa are always fresh and delicious, the service is fast and friendly, and the food is fresh and not too heavy. Lots of lighter options like the lettuce wraps and grilled chicken salad. The lavender lemonade was perfect to wash everything down!

Yelp
Given the current situation most restaurants find themselves trying to survive and operate in - this little eatery is definitely worth a visit. By far the best Mexican cuisine in Humboldt county. I have tried them all over the years, some are better than others and this one is at the top of that list. A small unassuming space on Main street, that if you are not watching you can drive right by. The signage on the front door states it requires face covers for entry and social distancing has been implemented with a reduction of inside seating that is available. We called our order in for pick up and by the time we got there 15-20 minutes our food was almost ready to go. Within five minutes of our arrival our food was boxed and bagged ready to go. I opted for the seared fish tacos on blue corn tortillas and loaded with fresh veggies with a cilantro aoli on the side, its two fat tacos that are loaded and the fresh hand made blue corn was spot on with the fish - an excellent choice even in a to go box. My girl went with the chicken enchiladas and a verde suace with beans and rice, her words "the best enchiladas she has had" which again testifies to how good this place is, as we have eaten a lot of mexican food across this country over the years. Another solid choice, the Coctel de Camarones "Shrimp cocktail" is just plain delicious, loaded with fresh poached shrimp and chunks of avocado, in a tomato sauce with cilantro, cucumber, onions and lime, its enough to share and its quite tasty. One each of two of the desserts to go please! First the flan, its rich creamy and delicious even in the to go container topped with a raspberry and mint sprig - it was is the best we have had around the area. Also, the special desser of the evening was fries bananas with cream and raspberry sauce, made with fresh fresh ingredients - the bananas were sublime with the cream and raspberry drizzle a rich, yummy dessert for sure. Along with a couple bottle beers to go and even a draft! This was a great dinner "to go" and given how great it was I plan to return in the very near future for a repeat and a dine in. 4.5 Stars - rounded up for all the extra attention to the details with the staff in handing our order to go. Definitely worth a visit and your support 00692

Yelp
$48.00 for 6 tacos to-go. The fish in the tacos was overcooked. It's good food, not great. I want it to be better because the atmosphere and people are so nice. But c'mon! $48.00 for 6 tacos?? No drinks or extras of any sort. Just. Six, Tacos.

Yelp
Place is a bargain for what they give you . Loved the michelada style of serving beer with Clamato and tamarind on a straw. Similar to what I've had in Jalisco. Burrito is huge and tasty.

Yelp
EAT HERE! Amazing food, great service. The two women I saw working were on top of everything, and very thoughtful and considerate of any needs I had or didn't realize I had. Even my cold leftovers were amazing. Great spot.

Yelp
This was the one spot in Ferndale we really wanted to try, especially as big fans of Mexican food. We came on a weekday night and there was no wait, and it was actually pretty quiet. We ordered the Ceviche and Tuyas Chicken Salad as appetizers, to compliment the chips and salsa they provided. Both items we got were pretty solid. The Ceviche was fresh and I appreciated the avocado in the dish. The Chicken Salad wasn't anything too special but tasty. They put dressings on the side, and we went back and forth between them because we couldn't pick which one we liked more. We decided to share the Tuyas Plate as an entree. Though it definitely wasn't the best enchiladas or taco I've ever had, we did enjoy it. I thought the taco was just a wee bit bland, but I could tell the meat was decent quality. Our server was very much on top of it. She was so prompt with everything and at one point, it seemed like she could read our minds, as she brought out forks and extra plates without us even needing to ask!

Yelp
Been here twice now. Located in the cute downtown of Ferndale, this is your go-to place for a filling meal. They have good veg options too. Loved their mole sauce, very flavorful and not overpowered by sweet taste that you get in many Mexican places. Right portions, nice presentation. Service was consistent both times, the server we got the second time was especially nice. Forgot to take pictures of the food but got one showing the ambience. Giving 4 stars simply because it's of course urbanized and just a hair's breadth away from authentic Mexican. Will recommend.

Yelp
We had a beautiful dining experience at Tuya's. The interior is welcoming, modern, and bright, taking full advantage of the natural light from the large windows in the front of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and inviting, the portions were filling, and the food was very tasty. I'm happy to see a place like Tuya's in Ferndale, which has needed a vibrant little restaurant like this. My partner and I explored the menu a bit by ordering the Tuya's chicken salad, super quesadilla, and chicken mole. All were very tasty and full of flavor (although the quesadilla could have used more cheese). The chips and salsa served at the beginning of the meal were delicious. I would definitely eat here again. By the looks of the board I saw near the bar, it looks like Tuya's has a pretty active drink scene, complete with activities like Trivia Night on Tuesdays. It's so nice to see a restaurant like this open during regular hours throughout the week.

Yelp
The restaurant is small and presents as a sports bar. As a short person, I initially noticed there was nowhere to sit comfortably. All the chairs are high stools and during the times I was disabled there would have been nowhere for me to sit. Although there was a front area with couches, it was not in the regular dining area. Generally, a restaurant has at least one table in the main dining area with low seating. The food was good, although nothing spectacular. The flavors were bland. I had the mole enchiladas, with al pastor, rice and beans. The food was fresh and made to order. Not sure I would go again. There are many mexican restaurants and living 15 minutes away, I would have many choices within the same distance.

Yelp
Absolutely AHMAZING!!!! Everyone was incredibly friendly, food was super fresh, homemade tortillas, and the arugula and beet salad was INCREDIBLE!!! We love Ferndale and will make this our lunch stop whenever visiting again or even whenever traveling through. Do NOT pass this place up!

Yelp
Awesome food and service! Super fresh and the avocado bites are crazy good. Outdoor seating on main st in Ferndale makes for awesome people watching. I hear they're getting a full liquor license too!

Yelp
Ferndale is a sleepy little town with few dining options. I think I got here at shift change cuz it took forever for a server to show up. Then my app and entrée came out at the same time but it was all tasty. The mole lettuce leaf wraps were a little spicy but yummy. I ordered the enchiladas with green sauce and a carnitas street taco - house made tortillas a plus! Sake margarita and a local lager to finish. I was hungry! This place hit the spot and by the time staff was back service was fine.

Yelp
I ate at this place because they have a TV in the bar and there was a game I wanted to see. Ordered a taco dish that was really good. However, the bartender made my dining experience terrible. She was rude and obnoxious. I told her I was planning to watch the game another hour and she demanded to be paid. Because there was a band she was hard for me to hear. When I looked like I didn't understand her she made the comment, ""That's how I get paid." I had leftovers that I asked her if she could put in a fridge and she said that was against the law. Then when I paid I had intended to leave her a $20 tip but she rudely brought my leftovers like she wanted me to leave. I did along with my $20 tip. I waited tables in college and I know how it works. You provide poor service you don't get a tip. The food was good.

Yelp
Fabulous, friendly service. Las Tazas appetizer really delicious chicken mole lettuce cup is a must have. Fish tacos better than what we've had in Puerto Vallarta.

Yelp
Party of three - came in on a Saturday night. They were busy but got us seated within 10 minutes. Waitress took our order within ten minutes. Unfortunately, it was right after she took and turned in the party of sixteen. It took over an hour for the quite tasty food to come out. One of the three orders were wrong but quickly corrected. We had to flag down our waitress for salsa and drink refills in between ordering and receiving food. Hopefully our experience was a combination of bad events and not the usual experience. The food was excellent 5/5. The service not so excellent. The ambiance was loud - difficult to carry on a conversation.

Yelp
Excellent Mexican food, some of the yummiest in Humboldt County! I have had multiple great experiences at this restaurant over the past couple years. Their food tastes fresh, flavorful, and delicious! They also have delicious margaritas! My whole family really enjoyed our lunch! The location is perfect for stopping by while visiting downtown Ferndale and it has a nice vibe inside! Even though the waitress was definitely kept busy by the full restaurant she provided us with excellent service. 5 Stars!

Yelp
Very nice and well priced local Mexican restaurant. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our dinners, which included a soft taco with carnitas, chicken enchiladas with mole sauce, etc. The complimentary corn tortilla chips were excellent, and we also liked our drinks (many options are available, including the Humboldt cider we ordered). Very good service, although it took a while for the entrees to arrive (drinks and chips came quickly).
