Absolutely LOVED our stay! Everyone was so accommodating. The pool and pool bar was awesome. Free coffee at the Marina, laid back atmosphere, and we could even take our dog with us to the beach that was directly across the street! The Crows Nest restaurant was phenomenal as well. My husband and I will definitely be coming back!

We just returned from a week at 'Tween Waters. My husband and I love Captiva Island and Tween is the perfect place for us. The proximity to the beach and service provided by the staff is wonderful. The pool is beautiful and the Oasis pool bar provides great drinks and service. We particularly love The Shipyard restaurant and ate there frequently. We can't wait to go back!

This was the first stop on our first trip to Florida with the family and it was perfect! Our third floor room was somewhat basic, but it had a great view of the gulf. ||They had a nice complimentary breakfast with delicious pastries and wonderful fresh fruit. It is always important to me to be able to get good coffee in the lobby before heading down to breakfast. We sipped them on the balcony while the girls lounged in bed. The kids and my wife loved the pool and the exercise room. ||You can even see Manatees right off the shore of the mainland. If you don't see them at first, then return a couple times and watch for other guests standing along on the shore or on the dock looking into the water. ||We really enjoyed renting kayaks and heading over to the nearby island with a canal system running through it. Also, we saw the most amazing dolphins on the dolphin cruise operating out of the South Seas Resort. ||I loved the old timey vibe of the place. It was like taking the type of vacation I might have had back in the 70's, but with all the modern conveniences.

Perfect three day getaway! We stayed in the Palmetto building on the bay side. Great for watching the sunrise in the morning! It is a very short walk to the beach... beautiful sunsets! We had amazing meals at the Shipyard Restaurant. The pool area is great... music, food and drinks available, and a quieter pool if you're looking for a relaxing time. Would definitely recommend!

This is our fourth stay at this resort. This is a beach front Old Florida motel style resort, that has kept the island’s laid back vibe and amenities despite been beaten hard for the latest tropical storms and hurricanes. Captiva -Sanibel is one of the best beaches in USA. Originally conceived as a bunch of beach front cottages in addition has several two story buildings with cozy rooms, all with balconies facing either the gulf, the bay or the pool. There are some restaurants including the iconic historic Old Captiva House, currently under renovation, snack bar and coffee place place by the pool. There is a nice pool with plenty of chairs, umbrellas and warm towels, and an adjacent serenity no children pool. The resort has Spa, gym and tennis courts. You can rent kayaks and bicycles. There is a full service marina at the property where you can rent boats for fishing or pleasure trips. You can rent umbrellas and chairs by the beach. $25 for an umbrella and two chairs. Our room was super clean, with coffee maker, mini fridge and bathroom a little bit dated but very clean, plenty of towels and toiletries, just what we needed. ||Cons: sand and gravel roads trough out the resort and parking spaces, while keeping the beach feeling can be muddy and messy when heavy rains, as it happen during our stay and our car was in a flooded area. ||No elevators in the buildings, is ok for me but could be a deterrent for older or disabled guests, however there is the option of renting a cottage. And the mattress in the room are a too firm. ||Nevertheless, none of that prevented us of having a great time. This is the third time staying in the beach front block, and the view of the magnificent gulf sunset from our balcony sipping our favorite drink is priceless. Will definitely keep coming.

We have been coming to Tween Waters for years! We got married there 15 years ago, and my sister did as well 2 years ago. When I'm not staying at the property I get a day pass to enjoy the beach and pool. The bar service is great at the pool. Order the Mr. Delicious!! Best drink ever. I love the kiddie pool as well. It's under the shade.

Google
The worst experience on a vacation ever! Use to love Tween Waters Inn. I will never return to this place! Broken down, peeling paint, dirty, unsecured, missing towels, roaches and fleas. Most of vacation was spent with maintenance, who couldn’t fix any thing. Repaired a lot of things on my own. Door locks broken so room not secured. Maintenance man argumentative and had to be asked to leave a few times. When reporting and asking for help the front staff they did not care. Asked not to have people enter cabin when not there and they did anyway. There wasn’t Manager to speak with and once spoken after stay he did not care and never called back like promised. I could add more but will only allow so many characters for review. I will try and add pictures later if I can; not to tech suave.

Google
Great place for a beach day or weekend! Easy access to a private beach. Umbrellas and chairs available. Multiple restaurants on the property. Very friendly staff. I just wish the pool and pool bar would have been open a little later, but otherwise no complaints at all

Yelp
I've been to Sanibel and/Captiva many times. This was my first time staying at Tween Waters and I was so happy with my stay! I really wish I could have stayed longer. They had the best prices online. It was an easy walk across the street to the beach. There's plenty to do at the resort. The restaurants are great! I love the little shop. The rooms are updated, clean, and spacious. Our room had two queen beds. It was on the second floor with a view of the ocean. It had a little kitchen and living room. We enjoyed having wine and coffee out on our screened in deck. I would love to go back again soon and stay longer.

Yelp
This was my first time docking and staying at Tween Waters Resort, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived by boat, the experience was seamless. Ferrari, who assisted with fueling and docking, was incredibly friendly and helpful, leaving a great first impression. Another staff member made offloading luggage effortless with their warm and accommodating attitude. Throughout our stay, we encountered several standout employees. Joseph and Raul went above and beyond, assisting us with transportation and visitor parking, making the entire process smooth and hassle-free. The resort's dining options were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed the Oasis Pool Bar, where the burgers, pizzas, and perfectly crafted Mai Tais were delightful. For our evening dinners, the Old Captiva House provided a memorable experience. Our waiter, Robert, was an absolute joy and delivered 5-star service, making our meals extra special. Between the ease of docking our boat, the exceptional staff, and the fantastic dining options, this resort truly stands out. A big thank you to the management for rebuilding so beautifully after Helene and Milton and for assembling such a wonderful team. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Amanda C.

Yelp
We stayed at one of the cottages right on the water for a night and it was great! It was nice to have a cold fridge and sink to use so we could keep our leftovers cold lol. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice. We stayed in 106 which was a little updated but mostly seemed like it weathered the storm okay. We walked around a bit and met some nice people at the shops. I would definately come back and stay for longer next time! It was cool to sit right on the patio and watch all of the traffic go by.

Tammy H.

Yelp
Wow ! Can't say enough ! We had no idea Hurricane Helene would beat us here but Tween Waters helped us by offering a day pass for $100 up to 6 people and allows you to use their resort and amenities as well as beach access! Next time we come we WILL stay here .

Yelp
Very happy I stayed at 'Tween Waters for my friend's bachelorette trip! 'Tween Waters is a very spacious resort located in Captiva, around a 10 minute golf cart ride to the small bar/restaurant scene. We had a 3-bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms and 1 pull-out couch in the living room, which technically sleeps 8 people. The suite itself wasn't anything too fancy/crazy but it was just right for what we needed. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The master bedroom was easily the biggest and nicest room with a super spacious double-sink bathroom and walk-in shower. Our balcony had a view of the bay, too. The main bathroom and kitchen were pretty small for a 8-person suite but we managed nonetheless. I really liked the pools here! There was a kid pool that was relatively large and a second pool right next to it that only adults were primarily at. They had bars at both pools which was nice, and the bartenders were always a great time! They had a super drink & food menu for a pool bar, as well. The lava flow drinks were literally flowing all vacation long and I totally recommend them from the menu (along with any of their frozen drinks). The on-site restaurant called The Shipyard was also a hit. This resort is located literally across the street from the beach which is great, too. Overall I would definitely consider staying here again if ever in Captiva!

Craig T.

Yelp
Solid stay. The good news is the place has it all. Across to the street to the beach, pools, restaurants. The food I had here was good. No complaints. Bar service at the pool was ok. Across the street at the beach they did a good job managing the umbrellas and chairs. Maybe con is it is a little tight/small at the resort . I would stay here again.

Yelp
We went to Tween Waters for a quick getaway for our 25th anniversary. There were good options for rooms, we went with the Sea Grapes building as we wanted the balcony and the sunset view. Our first afternoon we hung out at the poolside bar, then had dinner at the Shipyard on site. They have a few options for dinner, and the actual night of our anniversary we went high end with the Crows Nest Steakhouse. Pricey, but it was a special occasion. The evenings were beautiful with the resort all lit up for Christmas. During the day we took the short bike ride into the small town of Captiva. It was a nice and relaxing time for our 25th!

Jeff B.

Yelp
You never have to leave the property to eat, lay on the beach or go on a fishing charter. We eat at Old Captiva house and the Shipyard both had excellent food and drink. They upgraded our room to a suite on the gulf side nice sun rises but......at 5:30 in the morning a gas truck was filling a big gas tank for two hours! All that makes a wonderful morning! Let alone from 10-to midnight they emptied the trash! Bottles clanging..... well just a wonderful sounds at midnight! Management could care less, offered a free breakfast! Ask where your room is going to be before you pay for your room.

Bernadette P.

Yelp
We're regulars year after year. This is not your luxury shiny brand new resort, this is laid back old Florida vibe. If this isn't your cup of tea, then I'd recommend staying elsewhere. Their staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. Bar and food service at the pool is great, though watch out for the very aggressive black birds LOL. Can't beat the location. We stay in the efficiency rooms but always enjoy their restaurants as well.

Sam M.

Yelp
Imagine spending money on a wedding. A lot of money at a resort. And at 930pm being told you are to loud on a Saturday night. Spend your time and money elsewhere! Pretty pissed off at the management and I wouldn't spend money here. You have multiple boat slips and just because ONE wants it quiet doesn't mean they are right.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the day I spent here at Tween Waters Resort back in July. Everyone that I interacted with at the resort was so nice and friendly. If you are not staying at the resort, you are able to buy a day pass, so you are able to park and use the resort amenities. The beach in front of the resort is gorgeous. It had beautiful white sand and the water was very blue. This beach was perfect for swimming as the water was very calm and warm. If you get there early enough, they have their own beach chairs you can use. They also have two pools at the resort. One that is more family friendly and one for adults only. The adults only pool also has a bar right to the pool. Pool chairs are first come, first serve. They also have big cabanas that you are able to rent out for the day. It was such an awesome place to hang out for the day. I defiantly recommend this resort if you are visiting Captiva.

Dawn D.

Yelp
Loved the resort and options of rooms. Great location and they've done a lot to get the property up and running. My only negative comment is that we have a service dog and they would not let it in any of the restaurants or by the pool (certainly don't expect him to go in the pool). They also asked several questions about how he was trained, when and where and asked for his papers. This is not legal but every employee had the same script. So management is not training them right. Please read the Florida statute!

Ashley S.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was a kid. We used to come to hang out at the beach and the pool bar. They have live music, a tiki bar, and a grill you can order lunch from. They have a couple different restaurants on the property. They also host hermit crab races, which is really fun to experience. Most recently, my husband and I stayed here when I brought him home to see where I grew up. Got to show him the manatees from the docks too. They used to have the best Halloween parties, and I've since heard they stopped doing them, which makes me sad.

Victor F.

Yelp
The resort is very nice. The pools, bar and restaurants are very well maintained and clean. The cottage we had unfortunately was very run down and not clean. The furniture is worn out and not very comfortable. A/C ran continuously and was very loud. The back door to the porch had a broken lock. The front door did not seal and let bugs in. On our second day there we were taking a break and laying on the bed. That's when the housekeeper pops in without knocking, this is just wrong! Luckily we were dressed. We will not be returning to this resort.

Laura K.

Yelp
Had horrible samon at Shipyard. It was blackened and was served on top of coconut rice and topped with peanut Thai slaw with red pepper jelly. Unfortunately it was so saturated with soy sauce, the entire dish had no flavor but soy sauce. The coconut rice was dark brown. It was uneatable. I brought to attention of server & management never came to inspect or discuss with me. Total lack of courtesy.

Jill L.

Yelp
Horrible Service, aggressive staff. Fraudulent charges. Doesn't honor resort credit. Had no power for over 24hrs & they said they'd credit us 1 night. Originally charged me lower price then the next day charged me full amount.

Miriam C.

Yelp
The staff was wonderful. Helpful at check-in and with info on what restaurants has resumed business, etc. The accommodations were quite disappointing: tired would be a great euphemism - the room's indoor/outdoor carpet was buckling in several places. Easy to trip on. And a dank smell throughout. We were told there was no TV and that internet was intermittent. The first was true, the second was a quite an overstatement. Coffee was free because there was no computer service to ring sales up (not even cash sales). For folks like us, on the Island to check on our home's rebuild, this was insult to injury. Sad, really.

Brian D.

Yelp
I've stayed at the resort many times over the years and is always pleasant. My reason for this review is for the new restaurant shipyard which replaced crows nest. It is simply put amazing. I had both breakfast and dinner here more than once and every time it was delicious. I usually don't eat fried foods but there chicken sandwich is out of this world. The ribeye is also really good. The prices are unbelievable for captiva which was a bonus. The best part was the staff who went above and beyond especially Robin. If you get a chance ask for her you will not be disappointed. Hope you guys enjoy.

Yelp
I've been coming to Tween Waters since the 1980s. I took my then girlfriend now wife their on our first vacation. We've taken her parents, all 4 of our kids almost every year with the exception of when I was in Iraq. It's been our hidden gem where we had gorgeous beaches, nice food/drink by the pool, sunsets, boating, kayaking, etc. So now there is new management. The last time we were there it was different. It seemed less friendly. Staff from around the world we've known for decades were gone. Gond were the free continental breakfasts. Some room improvements were seen but not much. Since retiring from the Army and moving back to the east coast of Florida, we thought about going back. Low and behold my wife discovered the room rates increased by about 66%. $325 is now $550 a night. No more free continental breakfast. No more warmth of staff. Just expensive blandness. So I'm sad to say we are moving on and keeping the past 30 years at Tween Waters as good memories, but we won't be back. An AirBnB or going through beach rentals makes way more sense for us economically. I hope Tween Waters can survive the what I must see as a downward spiral. It's not about making money. It's about making memories. Best of luck.

Lisa M.

Yelp
stayed one night last week. we used some towels, but we also put them back. Two days after return I was charged $75 for towels! I called immediately and they were very nice and reverse the charges. Two days later I get another $75 charge. Again I called the hotel and I'm told I have to call back the next day to speak to a manager. just called again and told he won't be there until Monday. I shouldn't have to be spending all this time trying to correct errors they made. thank goodness I get alerts for all purchases on my credit card, or I may have missed this. I wonder how many they've charged that did miss it! I just want my money back.

Julie D.

Yelp
Booked a poolside room for the weekend. This hotel has two large pools and 2 or 3 hot tubs. It appeared to be the place to hang out as the patio was pretty packed. There is a bar next to each pool and later in the day there was live entertainment. Our room became available at 4.I had been inside the room for about 2 minutes and housekeeping came in without knocking. They appeared to be looking for paperwork they had left in one of the rooms.Luckily, I was dressed. The room had modern decor, however, the bathroom and balcony were lacking. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been updated in 20 years. The tiles & grout could use a good scrubbing. In the morning I went to take a shower and the water did not warm up until 15 minutes later. The balcony was screened in but rubber molding that was meant to hold the screen in place was dangling. 'Tween waters is just as it sounds. They are technically on the inter coastal, but the beach is right across the street. This hotel is one of the cheaper hotel options on Sanibel/Captiva Island. There are free kayaks available for use near the blue building. They appear to be single person kayaks only though. There are other kayaks available closer to the pool, however you must pay for those. Bicycles are also available for guests, although they looked pretty beat up with some of the seats having part of their cushions ripped off.I imagine it's more so the sun beating down on them and destroying the seats. Chairs on the beach are $25 and come with an umbrella. The pool bar serves food until 7 or 7:30, however, their menu changes at 5 and food prices appear to be much more expensive. I only saw that kid food options were available until 5 (hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc). Based on this we had to get food elsewhere for our little one.

Sue H.

Yelp
we had a day resort pass and rented umbrellas and beach chairs. at tween waters resort. beautiful beach absolutely ruined by the buggy that drives up and down the beach every few minutes checking that you'd paid for your chairs etc. it was so intrusive with its noisy and smelly diesel engine pouring out noxious fumes every time it went by (several times an hour). it quite spoiled wht was an already pricey day at the beach . strongly suggest that tween waters invests in a quiet fume free electric vehicle !!!

Hope S.

Yelp
We loved our stay! we rented tarpon cottage to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary. The rooms were great and everything is close together. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. They helped us get to and from the beach everyday and find everything we could need.

Timothy A.

Yelp
We needed to fill up with gas and the service was fantastic. They were very accommodating

Alexandra F.

Yelp
This is the second time my girlfriends family and I stay here and even though the place is decent, it really needs to be updated. The carpets in the room are kinda gross and makes you want to walk around your room with shoes on, the refrigerator in the room is so small we barely were able to fit things for 4 people for 4 days, the beds were okay but sure could be better, the pillows were horrible, the pool bar food is so not worth it and very expensive. We ordered a mahi fish sandwich but I'm pretty sure it was tilapia (if it wasn't then it was really bad). The pool area is great has 2 pools and drinks at the bar are really good. We did go to Captiva house restaurant our last day there and the food was ehhh nothing to brag about, not horrible but definitely not great and not worth what we paid for it. Overall, it wasn't the best stay and probably won't be going back unless they remodel.

Carol Anne H.

Yelp
Kevin was amazing as our bartender Sunday night. Great personality, amazing service. They should hire more people like him. Humble, sweet, kind... great service! Great drinks, great sense of humor. Made my bar experience amazing. Definitely coming back because of him. :)

Emily P.

Yelp
We are local residents to Southwest Florida that chose to stay at this resort over the 4th of July weekend and were really looking forward to our stay & to support the local community. We initially had some issues with our room cleanliness. Management eventually made it right. I would consider visiting the resort again. The amenities are great and the staff was friendly when we were on property. Great location with easy beach access and restaurants at the resort were great. We had a great meal at Old Captiva House. A short golf cart ride to Andy Rosse lane with more local dining options..

Nancy R.

Yelp
As a local resident, I have visited the restaurants and bar at Tween Waters Resort many times. Formerly know as the Crow's Nest, the casual bar and restaurant is now know as The Shipyard. I took my adult granddaughter and her friend for dinner. The decor was so-so, nothing special or beachy for all the remodeling they did. We each had a different type of pasta. I would say it was tasteless and overcooked. But we were not able to get past the horrible chemical smell (all the same in each dish). I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen or what the chef was using for seasoning. No Parmesan was offered until we asked for it. We were hoping it would mask the horrible smell. We left almost all of our food. We each had a very nice cocktail, that was the good part. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. She looked surprised that we didn't want to take our uneaten food home. However until they get a new chef, I will not be dining at the Shipyard for the foreseeable future. It was not inexpensive either.

Yelp
After 20 years of our relationship, we were married at Tween-Waters Resort in Captiva Island, Florida. We wanted to make this very special day an amazing experience for ourselves, our family and friends who attended. This was our first stay at Tween-Waters but we had passed it on our visits to Sanibel and Captiva Islands throughout our many visits. Tween-Waters was the only Resort we toured and we knew this was the right place. As a same gender couple, we were not sure if we might experience any negativity throughout our planning and Tween-Waters responded quickly welcoming us to allow them to host us. We met with our first wedding/event planner Vicki last summer and she gave us a thorough tour of the resort, Rooms in every category, reception rooms and restaurants, pools, marina and private resort beach. She went over pricing, menus and all of the things we may consider when planning our wedding. Since this would be a destination wedding for everyone attending including us, we wanted to make sure that the resort would be able to cover most of our needs and the needs of our guests. Most of our guests booked and stayed at this resort and thoroughly enjoyed their experiences. We planned a Thursday morning wedding on the beach with a lunch reception directly following. We booked a wonderful violinist, Matt Dendy (recommended by the resort) to perform throughout our ceremony. A couple of months prior to our tasting, our wedding/event planner changed to Christine and she was just as wonderful as Vicki had been. Christine set up our tasting with Chef Greg. We selected a Taco Buffet lunch that was just perfect including vegetarian rice, beans and grilled vegetables, taco seasoned ground beef and fajita chicken, all of the taco toppings and fresh made guacamole. Christine put together our Banquet Event Order(BEO) with the timeline of our wedding day, was flexible and quick at updating as we switched things around before our deadline date. Christine made us feel comfortable and confidant that our wedding day would be amazing. Our wedding took place on the beach across from the resort and Christine guided our Guests across the street at the appropriate time and drove a couple of our Guests with mobility issues across in a golf cart. She then guided our wedding party across the street and guided the wedding party when to begin their walk down the aisle. Our day could not have been more perfect. The Banquet staff had everything ready as our Guests entered the Wakefield Room which is upstairs with windows facing the beach. They were very attentive and friendly and made sure that everything happened on time. We saw each of them again in the two resort restaurants and they remembered us and gave us a warm greeting each time. A very special thank you to Dan, Pauline, Irina for helping make our day absolutely perfect. Jasmine, the Food and Beverage Manager was wonderful as well. The Front desk staff and Pool Bar/Restaurant staff were very nice and friendly also. We reserved a studio cottage to stay in. This was located right next to the front desk, near the pool and a short walk to the restaurants, our reception room (Wakefield Room). The room was quite roomy with a Queen size bed, two rattan chairs, a dining table with two chairs, kitchenette with decent sized refrigerator, microwave, stovetop and sink. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower. This was plenty roomy for us, our cat and all of our wedding reception supplies. It also has a fireplace and a screened in porch on the backside facing a garden area. We highly recommend Tween-Waters Resort just for a resort stay or to host your wedding. We will be back for a stay next year if not sooner.

Linda B.

Yelp
Update to 9/15/22 rant. Someone at Tween Waters Inn was nice enough and smart enough to see my email chain with reservations, and reached out to offer the accommodations we wanted with a guarantee. We accepted because overall this is a great beach resort with a lot of upscale amenities. Although I stand with the fact that some changes are not for the better, the staff, accommodations and food is still great.

Julia M.

Yelp
We have been renting a 2 bedroom cabin at this resort for many years and love going, however this time we were never told about the full construction going on at the resort and behind our cabin making parking extremely difficult and access to the resort facilities. There was no discount offered either. Other observations this time, wi-fi cut out all day and no cell service with any of our carriers, even though we had a cabin that slept 6, and we were 4 pp - if we even had wifi, they only authorize 3 devices. Tiny beach towels are now chipped and you have to navigate construction to walk to the back of the resort and hassle with a glass kiosk to fetch and return the towels there (if there are any in there). Don't leave them in your room or you will be charged. Definitely not as nice as the large beach towels handed to you at reception last year. Smaller observations...no extra blankets in the cabin, floors are only swept and not washed as our feet were black, no daily service and that includes towels and emptying the garbage, and at the pool - people leave their items to hold lounge chairs without using them for hours. We did not enjoy our stay this time...the price paid was obnoxious in view of all the construction and NOT BEING TOLD. Save your money and go when they have completed the renovations.

Selina W.

Yelp
Very beautiful place to eat breakfast....crisp and clean restaurant and the servers and staff were very nice. I did not however, like what I think to be either the owner or the manager....he was very stern when he was explaining what he expected from one of the front desk employees. I know you have to train the way you want but not in front of patrons....I felt bad for her and I could tell she was uncomfortable....other than that my breakfast was awesome! I am sure we will eat there again next time we are at South Seas Resort.

Justin P.

Yelp
Tween Waters came highly recommended by friends and we've stayed there twice now and I would highly recommend it as well. The rooms are great with most rooms having a water view. The on property food and bar options are great. You literally wouldn't have to leave the property if you didn't want to.

Juan L.

Yelp
This place was amazing very much helpful i have MS and i general walk around pretty good on my own however i must have had a flare up and my walking was off today and Raul an employee with tween Waters was amazing and asked me to jump on his cart and took my girlfriend and i to the beach and then kept checking on us and before he left he introduced me to Danny so he could pick me up when was ready to come back to the resort, The lady at the counter Olga was fantastic as well and very accommodating . The restaurants Chorizo Omelet was great , Kudos to the Chef. Place us well recommended we will return.

Nicole Z.

Yelp
Saw the sign that the hotel had for $25 chair and umbrella rental. Drove on out for a nice little day! I was told that's only for their guests. Odd!!!! Asked to purchase a Day Pass...SOLD OUT! How about when you have no chairs left...or THEY ARE NOT EVEN FOR RENT AT ALL, you take down the sign! Best part, the front desk employee told me it was put up to "gain interest"! In what, NOTHING?

Chris G.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. Dilapidated, stained carpets, dated dated dated. Terrible service - no fresh towels, no maid service in our room (but my friends room was refreshed, then I was told there it was not by the management (?) No refresh of coffee pods, Luke warm water in the shower. Ugh. AVOID

Yelp
Me and my girls went on a weekend getaway and found ourselves this perfect place. We had an amazing 2 days at the beach and that is all thanks to Joseph. I have never met a worker so kind, hardworking, and positive than I have Joseph. All of our needs were catered too and we were truly relaxed. He came by often checking up on us, asking us if we needed anything, and kept us hydrated with frequent waters. We LOVED Joseph and plan to come back just to see him again. Thank you Joseph :)

Yelp
My family loves Tween Waters! We love the property and the beach cannot be beat. The water is clear, there aren't many people around, and it's the best place to relax. The restaurants on site are a great convenience! We were able to eat lunch at the Poolside bar (a very good salad for under $8) and dinner at Old Captive House with a great view of the sunset. The entire resort is easy to walk and we found it to be very quiet. We can't wait to return! EDIT: Those aren't bed bugs biting you. They are no-see-ums.

Yelp
Not a terrible place, but certainly not the lap of luxury. Sadly, no one goes out of their way to ensure your happiness.....in fact, most staff ignore you unless they are your wait staff. This place desperately needs a huge overhaul. It's extremely dated, rooms desperately need an updating and the buildings could absolutely use a fresh coat of paint. On top of that they decided that right in the heart of season was the perfect time to shut down the one restaurant for renovations. That somehow led to both restaurants being down the weekend we were there which is just as well, because the breakfast and decor is average. The "Serenity" pool is not so serene as they allow kids in it and ball tossing in the pool, rather than redirecting them to the other pool. We managed to have a nice time despite all of the above because we would go off site for several reasons....but this will be the only time we visit unless they infuse some modern touches, overall improvements and better training for the staff.

Yelp
Recent stay was a disaster, they are having plumbing issues... and are a bit rude about it. S@#% happens but at least be nice about it.. small roaches in the cottages. Toilet did not work for a few days..... However the live music at the pool was a nice treat, pool staff great. Captiva house breakfast and lunch was nice and staff polite. BUT the toilet was out of service too!.. Management needs to work on there people skills, the place can use a overhaul.

Yelp
Affordable stay on the island, walk across the street to beach access and couldn't ask for a better view

Yelp
Love coming here. The rooms may need a bit of updating, but the setting and atmosphere are wonderful. We have come here annually for years and always have a great time. We almost always see manatee, and the pool side grill offers great food. We have never not enjoyed our stay here.

Yelp
A great location to spend a day! We bought a day pass for $50 which gave our entire car access to the property for the day. We parked near registration which is 50 yards to beach or pool. On the beach we got 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella and a completely unobstructed view of ocean! Gorgeous. For lunch we walked back to the pool / grill had an awesome lunch and then hit the pool. We have 2 small kids so the fully covered kid pool (2 ft) was a hit. My husband and I just floated with fruity drinks while the kids played under the canopy. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The location is wonderful and really has all the amenities you need for a beach vacation. Very nice pool with bar service. There is also an adults only pool for those without children. Beach is beautiful with chairs and cabanas to rent. They also offer boat rentals, jet ski rentals and parasailing (additional cost). Everyone is very nice and helpful. My reason for 3 stars is based on three things. 1. The rooms are really run down and old. Also they are very small, when we first got here it was the first thing I saw and was very underwhelmed. We had the ocean view room.. which faces the road then the ocean... not really what I envisioned. If we came back I would definitely spend more and rent a suite (they were not available for our stay). 2. Our building was out of hot water for over 24 hours. It wasn't the biggest deal but nothing was done to compensate for this. Cold showers it was. 3. There are no lyfts or Ubers around. When we left to go to the airport we requested a Lyft and one was not available to come until 45 minutes after requested (we didn't know this until 10 minutes before our Lyft should of arrived). We were very close to missing our flight. The front desk people said there was nothing they could do for us. We called multiple taxis and limos everything was booked. So be aware and book a limo beforehand!

Yelp
I booked a room at this hotel based on the 4.4 rating and the higher price thinking that my wife and I would have a nice stay. Our below standard room (think Holiday Inn circa 1970) immediately overlooking the highway with the ocean in the background was not what I expected. The only positive was the room appeared to be clean. I called the front desk to see if you could move to a nicer building and was told that we had one of the 'nicer' rooms unless of course we wanted to pay more. In my view this is a 2 star hotel at a ridiculously high price and I was not interested in paying more. Since I was the one to make the reservation and was embarrassed by my mistake I jokingly said to my wife, it could be worse, we could be stuck here for a week. My wife didn't smile and told me if that were the case I'd be staying alone

Yelp
Major bug problem in the rooms. They're all over the beds, floor, crawl on my face at night.

Yelp
Hmmm, we used to love this place! We were just here about ten months ago and had a great stay. It wasn't crazy, "In season", so maybe we hit it right. But we were here recently and everything seemed to have gone down hill. We heard that there is new management and people were complaining about all of the the new changes. We used to pull up on our boat and have lunch here, no more. They charge you $50.00 to have lunch! That is idiotic. I think it's great that you can have dogs, but they should not allow owners to keep their dogs locked up in the room yipping all day long. That's not cool for the other guests whom are paying very similar prices. When I had dogs, I didn't leave them for hours on end. I checked on them, and if I heard they were barking, I wouldn't leave them in the room. Their are a lot of rude dog owners out there, but this comes down to a hotel policy, NO BARKING DOGS! It's an old school place, so we forgive some of the shabby interior, and thin walls, but when an old school place stops offering what made them a great, old school place, and turns all corporate feeling... you just don't come back. Sad, we gave this place A LOT of business over the last decade. I love the character but that is quickly fading away. New management doesn't have to ruin this place. I hope they listen to feedback!

Yelp
This place has always been great! We have been customers for the last 10 years. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with Nick (Bartender) at the pool. Apparently he was having a bad day and decided to take it on us. He claimed we were splashing and too loud. We were not splashing nor loud. We were a group of about 10 all family talking to each other. Nick called our attention on a very rude way. Everyone at the pool was surprised with his attitude. Unfortunately a bad employee can ruin the good reputation of a place.
