I am not going to spoil the surprise: There are no longer exactly twelve apostles. Do you know how many are left? 🤨 I’ll leave it to you for further exploration. Stunning coastline views. Surprisingly free, I arrived in the afternoon and the lighting was challenging si returned early in the morning. Very touristy, lots of crowds. You have to be patient with the crowds.

We drove for about 3 hours and it was so worth it! The views along the Great Ocean Road are nothing short of spectacular. As you drive, you’re treated to breathtaking panoramas of rugged cliffs, sparkling ocean waves, and secluded beaches that seem to stretch endlessly. The iconic Twelve Apostles rise majestically from the sea, creating a dramatic backdrop that captivates all who visit. Each turn reveals a new, stunning vista, whether it’s lush green forests bordering the road or the brilliant colors of sunset reflecting off the water. Every moment spent here feels like a postcard come to life, making the Great Ocean Road a truly remarkable destination for nature lovers and photographers alike. Wowwwww congratulations to the design team that created the viewing platform. Each viewing point gets is better and is breathtaking. The visitor centre is helpful and handy for the pitstop break. There's plenty of parking and people coming and going. Ohhh yeah don't forget the fly swatter or bug repellent. I highly recommend this place for sightseeing and an experience that you love.

It’s a very beautiful sight, however the there are no longer 12 boulders. The boulders themselves are less mesmerising then expected, but the straight cliff sides are truly unbelievable There can also be very strong wind, as the viewpoint is very high up

12 Apostles Most popular attraction along the Great Ocean Road. Currently free, but rumours are they will start charging soon. Great views at the remaining apostles and along the coast. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Even though the car park was very full, the viewing areas didn’t get too busy. Just wait a while. Limited caravan parking, so we ended up parking where the coach/tour buses park up next to the helicopter pads (may change as a lot of development going on in the area), where there was plenty of room.

Must not miss this spot when visiting the Great Ocean Road (or even Melbourne). Magnificent views all around even when the weather wasn’t sunny. We were there late afternoon on a weekday and there were many people but still manageable. Conveniently located 5 minutes away from the visitor centre. Extremely windy so make sure you are dressed accordingly.

Worth the 2 hour drive from CBD. All views are breathtaking. There can be a lot of tourists during weekends, but still manageable.

Beautiful sight! An amazing landmark to see, a must see if you come to Australia. A day trip worth it for the sightseeing.

BREATHTAKING SCENERY ! There are a ton of amazing tourist spots to visit in Australia like the Great Barrier Reef in QLD, Sydney Opera House in NSW, Daintree National Park in QLD, Blue Mountains National Park in NSW, Fraser Island ( K'Gari ) in QLD, Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory, Broome in Western Australia, Sydney Opera House in NSW, Kangaroo Island in South Australia, Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park in Tasmania, Bondi Beach in New South Wales, Purnululu ( Bungle Bungle ) National Park in Western Australia, Byron Bay in NSW, Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in QLD and the Great Ocean Road in Victoria to name a few. But Australia is a bloody big place...( largest Island in the world, smallest continent in the world ) and it's not easy even for a resident Aussie to see everything. Having said that I have seen many of the famous places I just mentioned. In December,1999 my wife's younger sister and her 13 year old daughter flew from Los Angeles, California to Adelaide, South Australia to spend a couple of weeks with us. Soon after we commenced our road trip to the Great Ocean Road in Victoria...about 435 miles. Of course we stopped overnight at a hotel in a tiny town along the way.....it took us over 8 hours to reach the Great Ocean Road which is a 150 mile stretch of road between Torquay and Allansford in Victoria. It was built by returned soldiers between 1919 & 1932 and is dedicated to soldiers killed during World War 1. The road is the world's largest war memorial. So that's the history bit but the road is absolutely sensational to drive along....the wild blue ocean is highly visible much of the way. Which brings us to our primary destination..THE TWELVE APOSTLES..a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park. They were formed by erosion due to the harsh and extreme weather conditions from the Southern Ocean. You have to see them to believe it. They are TOTALLY AMAZING ! If that was not enough we returned in 2003 with my wife's parents also visiting from California for a couple of weeks. Our 2nd road trip was on a guided tour mini bus which was even better because we stopped at special locations ( not on the tourist map ) along the Great Ocean Road to see Koalas, Kangaroos and hand feed King Parrots & Kookaburras. IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND !

Food: N/A Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Decor & Style: 5/5 Breathtaking views. One of the better sceneries of the world! And yes, the real-life views actually look better than the filtered Instagram pics! These days that's hard to find. In terms of Service I was referring to the guides at the tour centers. See the 12 Apostles before they collapse! They won't last forever!

Spectacular. Marvelous. This is what truly defines Oz! Or at least a nice piece of nature on your journey through the Great Ocean Road. The Twelve (now... eight?) Apostles are a must see. We were lucky enough to come in a morning when the sky had just cleared up, and flocks of Asian tourists had not yet arrived on scene. The captivating limestone stacks scattered by the shoreline are breathtaking in every sense, and is such a marvel in real life. When you have a moment of peace, take some time to meditate and admire the beauty that the Twelve Apostles present. Nearby is a great little Visitors Center where you can shop for souvenirs and grab a pie to munch on in your journey. Free parking is available across the street.

Yeah, fun fact... these are stacks, not people who knew Jesus. I guess I shouldn't have assumed the whole gang up and moved to southern Australia. Anyway, once I was able to get past that I, just like everyone else, found the spot to be amazing. It's really incredible just how dynamic the place is. Sure, I was a little bummed that Mother Nature had worn away at some of the original stacks but, watching the waves roll in, it's not surprising. One bit of advice for a visit--if you have flexibility in your schedule, make sure to go on a sunny day. If not, the otherwise stunning colors just don't pop the same way.

Sometimes it's good to take our eyes off the devices and remind ourselves how spectacular nature can be. This is one of those places where if you don't come check these natural creations out, they might be gone! It's always been a family goal to come here so when we headed to Melbourne, this was definitely on our to-go list. It's a bit of a drive from Melbourne CBD but worth every minute. Cross your fingers for good weather, which makes this place even better. Got some extra time? Take the coastal drive down (it's longer but the view is pretty awesome). When you arrive, unleash your inner tourist and go nuts with the camera. Or be sentimental and just stare at them whilst the waves crash against their base. Either way, you'll be blown away by how amazing nature can be. Take your mum, your dad, your friends, your relatives - everyone. Don't let anyone miss out on one of the most spectacular views right in our backyard!

A must see. One of the most beautiful landscapes in the entire world, as far as I'm concerned. The drive to it is also worth the trip alone, assuming you take the Great Ocean Road (which we did). Stunningly beautiful landscape. You'll come away awestruck and wishing you had more time and more room on your camera for pictures.

A few years ago when I traveled to Australia, my friends and I took the Great Ocean Road to visit the 12 Apostles. At the time I didn't know what the 12 Apostles were besides the religious connotation. The 12 Apostles are a collection of offshore sea stacks on Victoria's Great Ocean Road. There is a main viewing area on the corner of Booringa Road and Great Ocean Road. It was about 4 hours out and 4 hours back, so practically a full day with stops to eat and visit. All that time in the car made me a little carsick, but once I got there and started taking photos of the cool rock formations, I was glad to see it. It's a gorgeous place. Check it out if you have a full day to spend on a road with wind in your hair and adventure in your heart.

This was my favorite attraction along the great ocean road. There are only 8 remaining apostles. There used to be 9? but one broke in 2005? I still don't get where they got their name. But I guess at some point there was 12? It proves for some beautiful photos. They have set it up so you can see some wonderful angles. Come early in the morning, by the afternoon the place gets way too packed.

One of the best landmarks in Australia! I travelled here to check out the world famous Twelve Apostles. The landmark itself was breath taking. I travelled here in spring and I must recommend that if its not Summer make sure you take warm clothing just in case. I felt the kiosk there closed a little early leaving tourists out in the cold. They also did not stock any warm clothing, so my guests that i had brought with me were a bit cold which limited the amount of time we could appreciate the landmark. A must see for anyone traveling down the Great Ocean Road!

The 12 apostles themselves are beautiful and deserve 5 stars. All of the Chinese tourists that show up on tour buses and overcrowd the place deserve 0 stars. We stopped by in the afternoon and maybe that was the issue but the place was packed with Chinese tourists. It was impossible to get a photo of yourself with the apostles without random strangers in the photo. Making things worse is trying to figure out which side of the walking path to stay on. You drive on the left side of the road in Australia, so the assumption is to walk on the left side of the sidewalk. But tourists showing up on tour buses likely forget about the driving convention and end up walking on the right side of the sidewalk like their home countries. This causes some awkward moments trying not to walk into oncoming people.

The quintessential piece of the great ocean road. The name might seem to be misleading but there where really 12 apostles and sadly the water washes them away slowly... there are only 8 left. Well 7 and a half. They are stunning, worth the drive and if they are not incentive alone, there are waterfalls, hikes, wild Australian indigenous animal, free camping grounds and some of the nicest people on your way over from Melbourne Melbourne or Geelong. A 100m East of the lookout is a staircase down the side of the cliff edge down to the beach... If your lucky to have a low tide they open up. Beach to the public and you get to see them from a whole other angle. Enjoy them while they last!

No Google image or travel brochure photo could have prepared me for the true beauty of these formations. Having taken me 29 years to finally drive the Great Ocean Road, The Twelve Apostles are one of our country's most iconic sites and natural creations. They're one of several formations along the road and truly magnificent. We visited on a cool and windy day with showers gracing the walk regularly. The best thing is that it's as magic in sunshine and rain. Be sure to stand and just take it all in for a few minutes - breathtaking.

So blessed to have a friend who so kindly and willing made the three hour+ car drive from the Western suburbs of Melbourne to the 12 Apostles for us while we were visiting. We made a few stops along the way- Torquay, Bells Beach and Port Campbell which were lovely. Didn't realise these natural structures existed at all or in VIC until my travelling buddy told me about them and we decided we had to make our way out there this time around. Loved the drive along the stunning, Great Ocean Road with the beautiful, sparkling coastline and cool bridge/ entranceway announcing the road. However, when we went- a small section of it was closed so we had to drive inland and then come back after we passed it. A great Marine National Park exists that runs along some of the coastline with an allocated car park, public restrooms and timber walkway. The path curves with opportunties to see the magnificent collection of erosion-formed limestone rock stacks that stand in the Southern Ocean from an array of angles. Could not believe my eyes when we got out there. Definitely recommend coming at sunset as the colours were exceptional amongst the cool backdrop of the stunning cliffs and crumbling Apostle pillars. A far way from Melbourne but a landmark worth making the trip out for!

5 stars - absolutely stunning, endless beauty. If you are in Melbourne, I'd highly recommend the Great Ocean road - there are plenty of viewpoints and short hikes. The Twelve Apostles being the crown jewel of the Australian Bight coast. The place can get crowded, so best to time the drive - sunset, early AM sunrise. Don't forget your camera and selfie stick.

Stunning. Breathtakingly stunning. Friends in Melbourne rented a passenger can and we made a two day jaunt of the Great Ocean Road to 12 apostles. It was definitely one of the many many highlights from the trip. Don't skip it.
