10 Best Coffee Shops in Edinburgh | Condé Nast Traveler

"Owned by former costume designer Rachel Morgan, Twelve Triangles leans more toward bread wonderland than coffee haven: while well-suited for a caffeine fix, it’s the front window, filled with freshly baked loaves and pastries, that makes this place so special. The space is small, so order your usual pick-me-up—brewed with locally sourced beans from Fortitude Coffee or Williams & Johnson—and a sweet to go. Try the pistachio cardamom knot or the caramel custard donut—or both." - Danielle Bernabe

I’m delighted to discover this bakery/cafe that opens at 7am, a rare occurrence in the city. The friendly staff serves delicious coffee and baked goods. I had a flat white and cinnamon knot, as sandwiches weren’t available early. Though it’s pricier than other cafes, it’s a pleasant experience. It was a nice breakfast treat before leaving Edinburgh.

Update: next day returned for americano and sourdough toast but with some jam on the side. Americano - wonderful. And although the sourdough toast was as yummy as yesterday, today only one piece of toast. So changing stars for inconsistency in service. Yesterday: Sourdough toast done with perfection. The cultured butter salty lightly sweet and wonderful.

It’s amazing! The coffee is really nice — I loved the beans and the taste. Wow! Truly delicious. Their pastries are also incredible and absolutely yummy!

"The place was clean and inviting, and the sandwich with mozzarella, pesto, tomatoes, and arugula was absolutely delicious. The coffee and orange juice were also really good. I recommend it!"

Had a great visit to Twelve Triangles. We ordered an iced Americano, a cappuccino, a cinnamon twist and a pistachio and blackcurrant croissant, everything was delicious. The pastries were fresh and the coffee's were spot on too. The staff were friendly and welcoming with the atmosphere being very relaxed. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.

Perfect location for a long overdue catch up with friends. The staff were warm and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us. Everything was delivered with genuine smiles. Three of us shared a multitude of pastries during our visit, each more delicious than the last. Would definitely recommend.

I'll start off by saying all the staff at this branch are so lovely and professional and can't say a bad thing about them. Coffee is a bit mediocre, not sure if it is the bean used but there are better coffees in Dalry though it is not explicitly bad. The food is okay, bit too pricey for what it is, but it hits the target market it is going for. Lots of plug outlets.

1st October, my wife and I visited there for our light lunch. All staffs were very kind. All foods and drinks were also very good. Very comfortable shop for us! Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!
