Stopped in for lunch at Twenty-88 in Camarillo today. The hostesses were very welcoming and sat us at a wonderful table near the bar. Miguel was our fantastic server and was kind, efficient and professional. We also spoke to Lisha about their recent remodel addition. The people that work here are quite friendly and kind. We started with ice tea and the ordered our entrees. My wife had the blackened chicken sandwich with a Ceasar salad and I have the crab cakes with a cup of lobster bisque soup. The meals were terrific and the dining experience quite enjoyable. Highly recommended.

I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant, but Twenty88 gets a full 5 stars. Our server Emily was very kind and efficient. This was my first time trying butternut squash ravioli. It was incredibly well done, quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had!!! My husband had the scallops risotto and enjoyed it. He mentioned that the lobster was just very tiny bits. Drinks were strong and dessert (warm butter cake) absolutely melted in my mouth. A cozy and inviting atmosphere! If we lived in the area we would definitely be there regularly!!!

I stopped in here about 20 min ago and have never even been approached by a waiter. There have been 3 or 4 out here multiple times, and they know im here, because they look my way, but I guess a single woman alone doesn't warrant service. Guess I'll find someplace else to eat. (I sat outside, in the corner, when I arrived there was a couple at the table beside me that had a white greyhound and Mexican hairless dog, who were very friendly and received excellent service. I wrote the above review while sitting there.

Google
the service was nice, all the people were so kind. the food in my opinion needs a little more flavor (i eat pasta twice there). the salmon and steak were good. The drinks were alright no crazy about them.

First off, let me start by saying this is the perfect restaurant for people who don't season their food. Truffle mac and cheese and the brussel sprouts were the apps they were ok at best and definitely not worth their price tags. My friend and I both got steaks, and both were one step too uncooked, med rare and medium vs the rare and med rare we recieved, as well as lacking any actaul flavor profile. If this place was on Kitchen Nightmares, all you would hear from the kitchen is Gordon yelling Bland Bland Bland over and over again. The hostess was in a bare minimum mode and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The server and bussers were doing good work, no issues there. I would say if you don't care about blowing almost $200 with tip on a meal for two, try it and leave your own review. If you do want value for your money on a date for two or just a meal between friends, I would suggest going to Slate.

Hi to all my Australian mates and to my friends all over the world. Are you feeling a little bit fancy tonight. If the answer is yes, then go to Twenty 88. The Scallop lobster risotto was amazing. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her Citrus salmon. The best part of the evening was the service, it was friendly and very welcoming, yet very professional.

Excellent food, excellent staff, and a superb dining atmosphere. Everything an elegant restaurant should do, they do perfectly here. Hats off to my waitress Amanda, and the manager who checked up on me every so often, from a drink refill to dessert. Not to mention, the food here is absolutely delicious! Top quality ingredients used here for sure. I also tried their “Buttermilk Cream Pie” dessert, shown in the photo below, and it was BY FAR the best dessert I have ever had at any restaurant! I would pay $50 for it, it’s so good. I highly recommend you try it, and I highly recommend stopping by for a meal here. I would give 10 stars to Twenty88 if I could. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for such a pleasant dining experience!

Google
Fusion restaurant Located in Old Town Camarillo. Street parking. Nice multi level decor inside and outdoor seating is available. I ordered the salmon with vegetables and my wife ordered the scallops with risotto. We got a side of truffle fries and the bingets for dessert. The bignets alone are worth coming here. Highly recommend the bignets. The food was not bad but the sauces were not particularly my favorite.

Yelp
Thank you Twenty88Bistro for your incredible service. After losing our home and farm in the #MountainFire you took care of not only me, but my dog, MILES. They have doggie burgers on the menu! You made us feel normal again and I will never forget your kindness during this time. You have a lifelong patron! All of Ventura County should be supporting businesses like this. A true heart of gold. -Jessica Butterfield and Andreas Tompros

Yelp
I visited Twenty 88 for the first time on a Saturday night around 5pm. Luckily, this was during happy hour which is Tuesday-Sunday from 3-6pm. This restaurant is closed on Mondays. There were a lot of open tables but they all had reserved signs so we had to wait about 10 minutes. There is a communal table option and bar seating too. The interior of Twenty 88 feels elegant with its black walls, chandeliers, leather seats, and woven light fixtures. We were seated at a high top table and greeted by our server. We ordered starters and a drink off the happy hour menu. We got an old fashioned, goat cheese egg rolls, angus sliders, Brussels sprouts, and Filet bites. We enjoyed the food. We loved the filet bites and angus sliders. They both had tender flavorful meat. The Brussels sprouts needed to be cooked longer and needed a sauce to dip them in. We liked the goat cheese egg rolls and the apricot Serrano jam. Our drinks could have been better because our old fashioned drinks were made and sat at the bar long enough for our drinks to be watered down by the melted ice. The manager brought over our drinks and we placed our food order with him. He put in a wrong item when placing our order so our sliders came out incorrect and we had to wait for the correct ones. Then, when we received our check, the prices were full price and happy hour so that had to be fixed too. Overall, the service missed the mark. The server was busy and took a long time to make her way back to us during our visit. We liked the food at Twenty 88 and recommend going during happy hour. The regular prices seem overpriced for what you get. I'm not sure if we will be coming back here based off our first experience.

Yelp
The service was ridiculously slow and unapologetic, at least to our table. Two tables over, a teenaged couple, got apology after apology and a manager saying "I'm gonna take care of you." Apparently a large table was sat, 25 top, which was causing delays in the kitchen. Meanwhile we were celebrating my wife's birthday, sat there trying to keep our kid from ruining other people's night out by keeping him entertained, but the wait was torturous even for me. It had me thinking they had to pluck a chicken to cook and stuff it, before butchering a pig to make the pork chop. The appetizer and kids meal came out quickly which was a relief, while bread and butter were offered afterward which was a little odd on the timing. The truffle Mac n Cheese was melt in your mouth goodness that had me savoring it long after I had devoured it. However, then came the longest delay when we ordered 2 desserts. The creme brûlée shouldn't take long at all, it's a cold item that requires a quick torch to the sugar atop. The butter cake was warmed, but it didn't taste freshly baked, so what the hell could take so damn long. Yet between the time we ordered dessert and the time we finally settled our check, over 1 hour had passed. I never tip less than 20% having worked in the service industry while in college, and usually tip 25% at nice restaurants like this, but after our waiter's disappearing act (I guess he went on break because we saw him walking down the street as we left but not a word about it), and the fact that I had to get up and walk my check over to the bar to pay, that tip went down a few percentage points. So why tip at all you may be wondering? Well the service started out great and was friendly. Then the food was delicious. The bourbon pork chop was recommended by the server and it was good to the last bite, paired nicely with jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes. My wife's stuffed chicken was also quite tasty as I finished her plate as well. Even my kids fries were nice and crispy thin straw cut fries. So despite how upset I may have been with the speed of service and lack of communication with our table, and not liking the blood orange margarita ($14 for something I had to choke down with a face after each sip), I could only knock this place down a couple stars and still had to tip. Sadly, despite how good the food was, I don't think I'll be coming back, because I don't have over 2 hours to sit down for dinner, especially when there weren't many tables there when we were initially sat.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I was not impressed . They just remodeled the restaurant but there's an odd smell. The floors seem to not be done . Service wasn't the best. There wasn't really anything on the menu that called my attention. Grabbed an app and a drink . We went elsewhere. The ambiance and staff isn't welcoming. I do not think I'll be back .

Yelp
Twenty 88 Food and Drink is one of my go-to spots for lunch, and I couldn't be happier with their recent renovation! The new bar area looks fantastic and adds to the overall ambiance, which is modern casual but still comfortable enough for grabbing bites with friends. For food, I absolutely love starting with their ahi tuna and filet bites. The wasabi dipping sauce is divine. I always ask for extra because it's just that good! When it comes to mains, I like to mix it up every time I visit. This time, I tried their burger, and it did not disappoint--juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My favorite part about this place is their cocktail menu! I love getting the Kentucky Blood - whiskey based drink with a nice spice kick from the serrano. It's the perfect balance of bold and refreshing. The service is consistently great - attentive and friendly, making each visit enjoyable. If you're looking for a spot to have a relaxing meal or catch up with friends over some excellent food and drinks, Twenty 88 is the place to be! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
We love it here! Always such amazing food & drinks! Love they are located in old town Camarillo and that they offer such delicious food. They staff is always so friendly and very helpful. Our family loves to come just for dinner, happy hour, and for celebrations. We definitely recommend it here and love to go any chance we can.

Yelp
I had been here once before a few years ago and enjoyed the meal, so was excited to come back again with a group of friends. Gotta say, was not nearly as impressed this time around. They are undergoing a remodel so that might've contributed to part of it. Outdoor seating is the only option, which was definitely disappointing as it was colder and we hadn't planned on sitting outside. Very limited drink menu - the drinks are premade and poured from a large pitcher. That being said, I did enjoy my Pear Lavendar Martini. The sangria lives a bit to be desired. Food was average. The Filet bites, tuna tartate, and Calamari were good, but not something I would come back to get again. These were each $16-$18 on happy hour, so I would hope for the price they would've been good enough for me to want to order again. Service was slower, but they were all very nice. All in all, the experience was average. Don't think I'll be returning again soon, but if some friends wanted to meet up to grab dinner here, I wouldn't turn it down.

Yelp
Glad I decided to stop for a quick holiday drink! It was happy hour and this place did not disappoint. The prices were a little pricey but the drinks is were well made. I did not get food, but it looked amazing as it passed by my table. The server and bartender Miguel were both very helpful and attentive. The drinks were delicious! The restaurant was very cozy and warm. We sat in the bar area where you can sit in a cushioned booth and watch some sports. I definitely will be back to try what looked like pork belly sliders.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the portions were very large. Our waitress was amazing and very helpful. There was a nice ambiance.

Yelp
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted warmly. Our server was very attentive and answered all questions we had regarding the menus. It was very Smokey in the building. I'm guessing it was from the kitchen but nonetheless the food was amazing! The oysters were fresh and tasty. They came with a pickled horseradish dressing and cocktail sauce. The baked oysters were okay but if you're looking for Rockefeller style, these will be underwhelming. The sea bass was crisp and flaky, the seasonal vegetables had the perfect season and crunch to them. The quinoa was also seasoned very well which is rare. The cocktails were very tasty. I got the lemon drop and the cucumber mint martini. My date had the old fashioned and quite liked it as well. Overall I could see this being a place that I frequent in the future.

Yelp
Hands down my new favorite spot in the area! What can I say the food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the calamari to start as an appetizer and it was delicious! I ordered a stuffed chicken entree and my mashed potatoes, carrots and green beans were cooked to perfection! And my friend loved her dish with salmon as well! For desert we ordered beignets and they are absolutely to die for! They are delicious, crispy and the perfect mix of sweetness and tart! The location is in downtown Camarillo and the inside is absolutely beautiful it is moody, and relaxing. We also had an amazing, attentive and kind server! She even gifted us a sundae for our birthdays we both were celebrating! My only complaint is I wish they provided bread, other than that I love this place.

Yelp
The food here is delicious through and through. Appetizers are tasty, but it is the main courses that truly shine. The Butternut Squash Ravioli and Seafood Capellini are standout main dishes for me. Be sure to leave room for dessert if you have a sweet tooth to satiate; their Butter Cake is a great way to finish a wonderful dinner. The ambiance is pleasant, both inside and outside, but the last time I went it was quite chilly and their heaters are not sufficient to keep the outside seating area warm, so we were uncomfortably cold despite the staff's best intentions. There were a few hiccups with service during our last visit, since it was a busy night: we signed up in the waitlist and they failed to call us: we only realized when we came back, wondering how much longer it would be for us to get a table. Additionally, we would go a while without seeing our waiter, but despite that our food arrived warm and in a timely fashion. Ultimately, Twenty 88 is an excellent place for a special night out; but it feels like they still have some kinks to iron out after they expanded, in terms of staffing and infrastructure.
google avatar

Yelp
Mac & Cheese - pretty good. Sauce is a little thin and could use more cheese. Calamari was the winner of the meal for me. Absolutely delicious! Crispy, tender and fabulous! Filet Quesadilla - it was very good. I had to bring most of it home because I was full from the Calamari. But I would order it again. Black Angus Filet Mignon was very tender. Could have used a little more seasoning. The service was excellent. They worked as a team. The place is under renovation so the seating is outside. Still very nice.

Yelp
Twenty 88 is undergoing major remodeling so no indoor seating. But on a warm summer evening, not a problem. They have a tent in front of the restaurant taking the parking spots on Ventura Blvd. They did a nice job with the tent (it does get a bit noisy when a motorcycle passes by). Very limited adult beverages while they are remodeling. No draft beers and limited cocktails. The dinner menu was not impacted by the remodel. We got an order of the goat cheese egg rolls as a starter. Delicious and easy to share. My wife and I and one of our friends each ordered the ahi tuna as our entree. The tuna was seared perfectly and very tender. Delish. The sautéed veggies that it came with were also quite tasty. Unfortunately, the rice for each of us was just at room temperature and basically not edible. The manager came by and apologized profusely and did try to make it right. Service started off on a strong note but halfway through the meal, our waiter disappeared never to return. Made it a bit tough to get the check so we could leave but otherwise not a big issue.

Yelp
I used to be a frequent flyer here and had a few bad experiences and hadn't been back. I went back on Saturday for the first time and was very happy with my experience and now back on board with making this place a regular on my rotation. They expanded and redecorated it; ambiance was dark, sultry and romantic. They had HH and it was Saturday! Food and drinks were amazing. I had the steak bites which were tender and perfectly cooked and the truffle macaroni and cheese which was delicious. Old fashioned was good and the bartender was super friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
The happy hour is absolutely phenomenal! Service is pretty good the times I have been there. Definitely a great place to go! Love the happy hour appetizers

Yelp
My wife and I came here for date night and enjoyed a nice evening out at one of Camarillo's best restaurants. The food, service and ambiance were all great for a Saturday evening. Ambiance: This venue is classy and can be treated as formal or semi formal. The tables inside were pretty close to each other, but you can still have a nice conversation and hear each other. The live music starts at 6:30 pm on Saturdays, which added to the romantic environment. Service: All staff here are well trained and extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we entered and they tracked our dinner reservation very quickly. We got seated in a quiet section of the restaurant and our waiter was very responsive and helpful with our order. The food and drinks came very quickly as well. Food: The food and drinks were good here. They have a big and creative menu, my cocktails were tasty and strong, will definitely order both again. The chicken wings were fried well and the Saigon Sauce was very sweet, so make sure to ask for sauce on the side if you want to enjoy the chicken naturally. The filet skewers were very tasty and tender. They also came with a side sauce, but the meat was prepared perfectly and didn't really need the extra sauce. The brussel sprouts were tasty, but could have used a little more char. The house greens salad looked nice and large, but was over dressed and drenched in salad dressing. We will order dressing on the side next time. And the sea scallops entree was good and hearty. The scallops were tender and juicy. It was large enough for us to share since we ordered 3 starters already. Overall, Twenty88 is one of the best establishments in Camarillo. They have a nice looking happy hour as well. I love their outdoor dining section because you can people watch during the day when it's warmer to sit outside. Definitely recommend making reservations and order their cocktails and filet skewers to start. You can't go wrong with anything here and come in a larger group if you want to order lots of great starters to share.

Yelp
The food is always top notch and the ambiance is just right. Not too bright for a nice dinner.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Food quality has always been what we expect for this price point. The chicken with potatoes, Chilean sea bass, and chicken and filet bites are what we usually order. The sliders are great too, as is the burger and Boston steak salad. The reason why you go to a place with an exec chef is so everything - including the sides - is perfect. The technique is perfect on the sides, which is a sign of good technique in the kitchen. What separates this place is the service - the servers are always friendly, attentive, and caring. They will remember you too and ask how you're doing. Great people here, a sign of good management.

Yelp
If you haven't been here, you've been missing out. We love this place. Family and I come here and always have outstanding service and amazing food. Just relax, take it all in, and enjoy your evening. Say hi to Anthony.

Yelp
Was a favorite of mine until they screwed me. Ordered a favorite seafood with pasta. Complete with plates for shells. Started eating and discovered that the clams and jumbo shrimp were missing. Waitress "forgot to tell me" and served the $44 pasta dish anyway, which included spaghetti and a few shards of salmon. Manager didn't bother talking to us, but offered us $4 off after the waitress spoke with him. No apology. They lost more than one customer when friends and neighbors ask if they should dine there. No!!!
google avatar

Ulli H.

Yelp
This is a great fine dining place to come to if you have a lot of time on your hands. The service is not the fastest. Forget about a quick in and out lunch. It's better for dinner or if you have time for an extended lunch. The food is fresh and tasty. The interior decoration is modern and chic. Outside seating is nice too, but directly facing the street.
google avatar

Yelp
We sat at the bar and were greeted by Paco, he was friendly and provided great service, Paco was knowledgeable of all the tequilas and made me an excellent Cadillac Margarita. We also had their famous burger which was delicious. Thank you, chefs. Great vibe and comfortable bar! I met the owner and she was very welcoming. We recommend Twenty 88! Cheers We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Our favorite for great food and drinks! I love the spicy apricot margarita and my in-laws love the espresso martinis. Everything I've eaten here is great, especially the seafood. Love when they have live music too! We came about a month ago with my baby in a stroller and the staff was so nice and helpful finding us a good place to sit. Always recommend!!!

Yelp
Love it here! Idk why I haven't made a review here yet. It's been one of my favorite dinner spots in camarillo. We ordered: Burrata arugula salad was fresh and fabulous . Tuna tar tar was delicious. Pork belly sliders! Nuff said . Rib eye dinner family style with veggies and baked potato. This was perfect and just right for us to split .

Yelp

Yelp
Stopped for a quick bite. Tuna Tower was good and the Blood Orange Margarita was awesome, I had 2! My server was kind of missing an action, but the others made up for his absence. The gentleman that took the time to plug in my phone so that I can recharge before I got on the road to go back to Southern California was an absolute Godsend!

Yelp
Where should begin! The entire experience was great, from the minute we all walked into Twenty 88!! The attentive service to the delicious food! The ambiance alone was amazing and the bar was simply breathtaking. I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here to grab food after an appointment. We had a reservation for two on the Friday night before Valentine's weekend. We had wonderful service and amazing food. We had the calamari (not pictured) and truffle bacon mac and cheese appetizers. Then I got the wedge salad and he got the mini surf and turf. Food was excellent and the meat was perfectly cooked medium rare. The flavor profiles on all the items were dynamic and tasty. The ambiance is wonderful, customer service was excellent and the food *chefs kiss*. Thank you for a wonderful evening for my honey and me.

Yelp
2.5 stars is probably the most accurate rating for our experience. Had very high expectations only to be let down pretty much across the board. The food is ok at best. We got the tuna tartare appetizer and it was at least half cucumber. For every piece of tuna there 2-3 chunks of cucumber, not what I was expecting for $16. The drinks were hit or miss. Out of the 4 we ordered 1 was very good, 1 was ok, and the other 2 were disappointing. I had the pork chop that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts while my wife got the sea scallop and lobster risotto. My pork chop was cooked and seasoned well, however the sides were incredibly bland. My wife's food was completely unseasoned to the point where it was basically inedible. We asked for salt and pepper and after seasoning it ourselves were able to eat most of it. Very disappointing. The space itself is pretty nice with lots of different seating options (outside tables, bar seating, etc...) and it was too loud. The staff were interesting. The hostess seemed super confused when we said we didn't have a reservation, even though their website doesn't work at all so making an online reservation wasn't possible. The server was friendly enough, but it took awhile for our drinks to hit the table after they were made and sitting on the bar. Overall it just wasn't a good enough experience to justify the price. Doubt we'll be back, there are definitely better options in the area.

Peggy S.

Yelp
This is our third time here. This is the first time for dinner. Everything was hot and delicious. Staff was warm, friendly and efficient. Atmosphere was cozy in the bar. Great drinks selection. Good happy hour offerings. We will be regulars even though it's 15 mins from home.

Yelp
Summer lunch at twenty88 in Camarillo's old town is a great place to catch up with friends. Small patio but it's never crowded on a weekday lunch. Though I had their sandwiches not pictured are the famous goat cheese egg rolls and filet bites on their apps, which are always a must.

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Old Town Camarillo. The service is great in which they would accommodate any special occasion you may be celebrating. The staffs are friendly, well trained and timely when you requests for any service. The indoor ambience is just right, it's not too overwhelming or loud. They also have an outdoor patio for customers who prefer to dine outside on a beautiful day. They have live music on Thursdays for people to listen and/or sing-a-long. The food here is excellent and delicious. I would highly suggest their house made beignets for dessert because they are sooo goood!! It's the best I've had in Ventura County! I highly recommend this hidden gem restaurant if you're wanting a good dining experience in the area.

Yelp
First trip to this nice resturant. Very nice servers and ambiance. Low noise level, able to talk and enjoy a nice happy hour meal and steak tacos. The new bar and ambiance is casual modern with a good value for meal and cocktails. Will be back again to try the sea bass and mini surf and turf. Convient location right off 101 and Lewis in old town Camarillo.

Yelp
Having been to Twenty88 in the past my wife and I chose it for our recent family year-end celebration. Twenty88 maybe the most "upscale" restaurant in Camarillo...they certainly present themselves as that...the servers wear crisp black and white uniforms. The chairs that accommodate the 4 person tables are covered with fabric...the tables have centerpieces...the restaurant is purposefully lit dim to evoke a certain (mostly romantic/fancy) mood...there are outdoor tables where they try to replicate that same upscale vibe...I can't say I know for sure how successful that is because we've always opted for inside dining. Food wise...so awesome! My ribeye was perfect and my wife loved her filet...my oldest daughter ordered an angus burger because she wasn't "feeling" the steak options she did say it's was among the best burgers she ever had. The menu is "ala cart" so there are a lot of mix and match possibilities. It's not an inexpensive place to eat but I'm not sure I'd want to have a celebration dinner at a cheap restaurants that said we didn't have to order steaks, so there are less expensive options (on the menue) and still have a wonderful, fancy/upscale dining event. We'll definitely be back !

Yelp
Food was good. However, the service was below par. The hostess and our waiter were very unfriendly. They were annoyed we asked to move since we were in the sun (they are remodeling which is totally fine). It was a nice day so sitting outside was not a big deal but I don't want to be in the sun while eating ( I have a sun sensitivity ). The food was pretty good. Our total for 2 was $85. Because of the service from these two individuals, we will not be returning. The other waitress and bus boys were a lot more friendly and they went even our sever. Enjoy your food but don't ask for friendly service.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. My son in law to be, took my daughter and I for dinner and this place looked very nice on the inside. We were seated and then the Manager came out and said my 4 lb licensed service dog (not emotional support) had to go on the floor. I informed him she can't go on the floor because she needs to be on my lap or carried close to me so she can alert me if needed. He said we could sit outside and we were fine with that but as we got up ha said my dog would have to go on the ground out there too. So we had to leave. This establishment is incorrect about California law regarding service animals. Hhvdvuuuuuuuuuuuudvhvch,??;

Yelp
Good food and good outdoor patio. Happy hour is the way to go! The best: calamari! So amazing. Definitely a different take on the traditional version so be prepared- but it is fantastic. The service and staff were VERY attentive. Payed attention to little details and checked in on us often but not too often. Good place for kids on the patio. Gluten free options. The good: sea bass was good as were the loaded mashed potatoes and wedge salad. Food service was very quick. The ok: they seemed short staffed which is understandable since many are but only had one bartender so drinks took a little bit. Prices are a bit on the higher end but still reasonable.

Yelp
When it comes to writing about a place with over 700 prior reviews, I tend to pass because how possibly could my rating affect (for good or bad) what is already an established baseline. But my most recent visit to 2088 was so outstanding that I felt compelled to scribe a few words. I've been coming to 2088 for many years. I consider this place to be the finest of dining locations in Camarillo. The decor is an updated vibe, they have a reasonable Happy Hour (menu selection and libations), the bar is a socially active spot with an excellent selection of spirits, and the service has always been spot-on with professionalism and personality. Sitting at the bar is my usual spot to dine. There are large HD tvs that are tuned to the major sporting event airing at the time. The vibe is festive when the right game is on and patrons become more spirited. Many times complete strangers become no more as they will introduce themselves as they share the passion for sports like I do; buying drinks for new acquaintances becomes routine. What 2088 did for me this last time will forever make me a customer of theirs. Now I love me a hamburger and 2088 has the finest gourmet meat sandwich in all of Ventura County (see most of the other reviews) in my humble opinion. On this particular night, I was craving something light but with a heavy protein. With most of the salads here, you can add chicken, salmon, or shrimp. I inquired to the bartender, "Can I request your Angus beef patty to be put on your Burrata salad?" With a devilish look he replied, "It's never been asked before but let me see what I can do." About 15 minutes later, an 8-oz majestic Angus patty on top of a Burrata salad appears before me. I slice into the patty and it is perfectly pink medium-rare with the right touch of seasoning. The best unintended surprise was the heat from the patty had melted the burrata to a texture that made each protein bite a gift from God! I've never experienced such pleasure in eating a salad. When thinking of fine dining, there aren't many places in Ventura that serve a decent lobster bisque or culinary executed seared scallops with risotto. Their entire menu is a plethora of amazing dishes that is worth trying from top to bottom.

Yelp
My salad was perfect with a little crunch to sweetness! I paired it with a sweet cocktail and I didn't write down the name of them. Thank you to JR and Rebecca who made my visit a memorable one. I sat close to the window so I could enjoy the natural light outside. With the help of my waitress, she made a perfect pick! Looking forward to bringing my husband so he can enjoy the experience as I did.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars for their service and their dessert. The butter cake is the best I've ever had! I don't live in town but when I'm close by, I always make it a point to add this place as a must-stop! The restaurant is in a cute little area (parking may be difficult) but sitting both inside and outside has the same type of feel - I love it! The service is always great, great cocktails and appetizers! I wish there was a location in Vegas!

Yelp
We always enjoy this restaurant but tonight was beyond expectations... we shared a porterhouse special for two, delicious... Tonight was even better though thanks to the service provided by a gentleman named Jonathan. He simply became interested in us, out meal and making it special. Without going into every detail I can just say that we are seriously questioning what was the one most special part of the evening, the service or the food and why can't we wait to go back, for the service or the food. It was a wonderful evening all the way around and thank you Jonathan for making it so awesome.

Yelp
On one of your new 1 star reviews, you respond, that you know where the Yelper works & how their employer wouldn't approve of them. You also addressed the reviewer by last name, which you've done in several other 1* reviews. This is threatening & disturbing. You asked me my server's name, likely an attempt to shift any responsibility. Still never looking to improve only blame others. This is a hostile setting. If the restaurant makes overall ethical moral improvements perhaps it can make a comeback!!

Yelp
Been going here for years since back when Vince owned it. It was friendly and welcoming to customers then, and remains the same today. Despite other places like Institution where the customer do not feel respected. You don't get that 'shady' feeling when you step into Twenty 88 like IAC. The happy hour menu is fantastic. If you're looking for a place with class, then Twenty 88 is where you should go. Other places are getting too political and hateful. And customers and the community can feel it. I know bc I hear it all the time. And it's time to start supporting only businesses that CARE about how they treat their guests. No matter how familiar the guests become. Always treat your customers as your business. They are your supporters...by their choice. Not the business's. Be kind and respectful. It's so valuable. Even more today bc now people are paying a LOT more and should be respected. Not ignored and taken for granted that they will do whatever your staff says it's best for them. Yes. This happens. If you read my other reviews, you'll see more details. The ambiance is really great as well. Feels like NYC and Vegas meshed together. Great place to meet up with friends, where you know you'll be respected and get the feeling that you know they don't take customers for granted, like the aforementioned venue.

Yelp
Have driven by and been intrigued several times so finally stopped in for the first time. I believe reservations are recommended however the staff found us a high top in the bar area. The place is well decorated with a contemporary hip feel. Music playing is todays trendy stuff and the bar area has two large TV's that had a baseball game going. Staff was well appointed in suits while patrons were mixed casual to classy. Our server Miguel was very friendly and attentive throughout our experience. So far a 5 start rating, so why the three stars? Let's start with the cocktails. Superior in taste. One of the top 3 martinis I've ever had however lacked any kick of alcohol. I'm a light weight and generally one is more than enough to carry a buzz through my meal. Nothing of the sort from this one sadly. But the flavor was amazing! The food presentation is above par. Every dish was presented eloquently with great eye appeal. The flavor of the food was lacking sadly. Lobster Bisque: This dish leaned much more to Tomato bisque and I only found three small pieces of imitation crab. Not even sure it contained lobster. Scallop and Lobster Risotto: piping hot and delicious. Lacked in the lobster as with the bisque. Wedge Salad: it was just a wedge. Bacon was the main flavor as it tasted overdone and slightly burnt. Overall ambiance 10/10 Service 10/10 Cocktails 8/10 Food 5/10 Would return with friends as the atmosphere was great!

Yelp
I have to say I'm annoyed. Outside of the brussel sprouts being inedible, the food and drinks were decent and the service was great. BUT... they charged us $0.50 for ranch dressing!!! It's not that I am cheap and I know costs are going up on everything, but come on. Seriously?!? What next, extra charge for ketchup, salt and pepper, and sweetener?!? I've dined at 2088 many times but I will no longer be a customer nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. Nice job management!

Yelp
The food here is really great. My wife LOVES the squash raviolis. I ordered the Boston steak salad today and it was amazing. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. My wife also loves their pear martini, although it's a little pricey, IMO. Still a fantastic place to sit outside with moderate shade on a sunny day. I highly recommend trying this place out.
